Hi everyone I’m Stevie J today I’m going to just show you how to remove a grip nice and simple and it’s uh something that puts fear in people’s minds it really shouldn’t it’s really easy and once you know how to do it you’ll be able to take the grips off and then if
You hit like And subscribe you’ll see the videos coming up on how to actually grip the club as well and there’s a couple of different methods so make sure you hit subscribe and uh yeah here we go you’ll need is a hook blade rubber Vie grip Vice obviously first things first
CL in the rubber Vie grip in the Vise and then we need to remove the grip this is a graphite shaft so we’re going to do this slightly differently I like to try and pull the grip back as far as I can so I can get a nice hook underneath
Upwards and away from the fingers and then we’ve got that little Movement we should be able to pull it down a little bit more and just Nick it I don’t want to damage the graphite shaft by just sliding The Knife Down so I just like to work this little
Bit slower process so we’ll speed this up there we go grip removed there’s two layers of tape on here we are going to need some heat because trying to pull this off it’s very difficult what the heat does it just releases the glue a little bit makes the
Tape easier to tape off just a few seconds is enough we don’t want to damage the graphite shaft it is a little bit fiddly especially because there’s two layers of tape but literally that should be [Applause] enough to get us going this top L comes off nice and easy now
There’s a layer of buildup tape bit of masking tape underneath might need a little bit more heat [Applause] yeah I’ve just noticed someone’s regripped this in the past and they’ve slid The Knife Down rather than did what I did and they’ve damaged the shaft so I’ll show you that now once we
Got this last bit of tape off so just down the side here you can see this oh we can focus there’s a slice along the shaft here where somebody has regripped the club before and fortunately they’ve not damaged the actual shaft it’s just the paint on the top but doesn’t look pretty
And it can definitely get Little Fibers come off it goes all the way up to here so yeah so when you’re doing a graphite shaft be a little bit more careful just Nick away from the shaft that’s how you remove a grip nice and simple and watch the next video to learn
