Exclamation mark five stars holy Jake nap once again the lads are all over it your podcast gives you so much attention to detail above and beyond other podcasts that it is what separates the golf betting system podcast from the rest of the field just like the Napster on

Saturday night Sunday not so much but a win is a win am I right cheers and keep up the great Intel you are red hot that is from red hot rider and red hot rer Ryder is in the the United States of America thank you brilliant stuff nice to hear someone

Else pick up a a bit of bit of winnings on nap he went went well last week as well didn’t he nap do do you think red hot Ryder had a bit of money on Nap it sounds that one yeah but he impressive play by him again last week

Yeah really just um it’s amazing how often you can do that you back a winner and then immediately just think there’s no chance he will go go well again next week especially if it’s his first big Tour event you just I I don’t know for me I it just instantly gets dismissed

Out of my head and then you see him play well the next week you go oh yeah that makes sense it’s what it’s maybe it’s the thing like do does do they have the stamina to get through the next four days or you know have their emotional

Reserves been drained a bit I always kind of figure the drain is the one that will happen but yeah what do you think he could go well again this week I I don’t know but does that put Jake nap into a different category in your mind though rather than potentially just

A one hit W who came along and won and then just you know string of Mis cuts and disappears for six months actually he’s come out the next week and yeah okay he didn’t win he he wasn’t realistically um you know right up there in terms of actually contending on

Sunday or Monday as it was but even so to to push that result through um you know after the mental and physical fatigue of the previous week yeah I really impressive goes up another notch for me you could say the same about Austin erro last week’s winner 100 to one eight

Places uh seven places with William Hill this week and we have seen in the past players like sunj IM and Keith Mitchell literally travel to Orlando and get another top five yeah which is exactly what you said about Jake natb bar going from Mexico and doing the same at PJ

National it was impressive yeah would it have been a little bit more impressive had had PJ National been kept at its um previously standard brutal setup I mean but does it really matter because it still seemed to be able to hurt guys who weren’t playing well just

I I guess it was a little soft and that you got a lot of um clustering and then e roach just said no I’m going to be way better than everybody else uh it was he was swinging so freely it was brilliant it was brilliant to watch that’s kind of aspirational

Looseness in the swing 13th for strokes going te to Green the previous outing so there was plenty to grab onto I know no uh is it n Lions yep he grabbed him didn’t he Checker yeah fair play n so yeah there was plenty to grabb on to

With atro he was one of those players that kept buzzing around my Strokes game numbers he’d appear and then he sort of yeah he wasn’t you know it he was mentioned a lot when I’m pulling them together so definitely some steam with ekro but yeah I I why why can’t he turn

Up this week and and be on the front P of the leader board at 100 tomor honestly like this swing was that good last week to my eye anyway if he keeps that freedom why wouldn’t he do a a repeat of what nap just did last week and get up the

Leaderboard yeah um I think you’re alluding Barry to the fact and I’ve got to say I cannot pick a winner for toffey but I’m I did say 1700 would win it Bang Yeah SP 150 to1 400 to 1 300 to1 125 to1 70 to1 100 to 80 to1 50 to1 and 100

To1 the winning pric is on the PGA tour in 2024 I’ve never seen anything like it I’m I’m trying to get my head around why and the only thing I can come up with is because this is the first time we’ve seen the calendar year start the PGA Tour since

2013 and I just don’t think with all of this stuff that’s going on with live the tour the politics that the elites just don’t seem to be switched on and you’ve just got young hungry or old older you know ex Elites like Kirk and players just coming up and taking

Victories isn’t it that’s nap and ecro two rookies on the TRU Matt s hadn’t won for ages bang 80 to one you were on imp po yeah they’re GNA need to switch on soon aren’t they because we’re only what four weeks four weeks and so outside of the

Masters you got you got Scotty Sheffer that can’t part but he’s lapping the field for strokes G every week yep oh by the way you got be P Bay Hill so you all these people lumping on Scotty again they must be backing him at eight yeah literally sea of blue on ult

Cheer yesterday morning and he’s been priced up at 15 to2 I don’t get it I wonder whether there’s some connection between having these new Signature Events and the regular events and the focus of the elites goes to the Signature Events and the other events that they play the regular standard events become tuneup

Weeks for them but they’re not winning them either no but some you know say think better in a way of guys CH you know playing the week before major they kind of don’t in a way don’t want to win but they want to have all all of the

Elements of their game in place that could get them to a win oh I get that so that that kind of psychology you know rather they don’t want to drain the the mental tank by winning I mean you can’t say the three players that have won the Signature

Events are bad players can you Chris Kirk Windam Clark last year’s US Open champion and Hideki Matsu arm a Masters champion y but they were not in great Nick winning those events at all so you you know your your single digits prices and your 20 to ones and whatever just haven’t got

A victory at you know maybe that changes maybe that changes this week would say do we get an elite winner this week who knows mate I can’t pick a win a full stop so asking me a question like that sheer Folly I’ve got no idea bar perhaps it

All changes this weekday I reckon who knows not with not with Steve’s attitude it sounds like he’s a negative tone well I I know for a fact that you and me are on the same play one of the same players so that’s got to be a good thing maybe Paris

Combined Paul talk to me about the SDC Championship last week I I’ve got no idea what went on at all all I know is that Tom McKibben hit the lead top of the leaderboard on Friday and then did a Tristian Baden who or luk list for me at PJ National and

Went sort of dub Tri bogey double Bogey and ejected yeah he teased us again didn’t he been in him a few times in the last few months and yeah I I’m I’m not quite sure how to play McKibben because the the guy is very talented and will win lots more I’m

Sure but but um it just seems to be on the edge of contention rather than in the thick of it when it when it really matters as you say yeah Friday hit the lead a nice little burst and then immediately ejected and that was it and

Then you know at that point you’re kind of well you’re in the vicinity you can still hang on and get a full place here and then double Boger the 71st hole and misses the places by two shots so um frustration for a player that is so

Short in the betting and I think he did go off favorite in the end I kind of alluded to it last week in the Pod and I think he started fifth or sixth favorite something like that and was was backed and backed and backed and you know quite

Rightly so I was I was on him quite heavily and um yeah just uh just didn’t happen which was a it’s got to be a concern for him I think Jordan gumberg though the guy who won I mean I I must admit you know all

Of us with some of these um lower grade events and Puerto Rico be similar for you Steve um you get some names in these events that you’re not quite so ofay with and um Jordan gumberg was another one 400 to one I saw on

Monday um for the American and I I had a dig back through yesterday just to see if I could rationalize where the wind may have came from because there wasn’t anything immediate um at this kind of level at least and he did have a couple of top threes on the challenge toour

Last summer but and you’re going back nine months or so to try and find anything tangible that you could use as a as a justification for backing him so no if anyone managed to pick Jordan out then fantastic well done I know there were a few people on Robin Williams who

Was a little bit easier to find because um he does have some good South African form and um there was enough to grab on to but um but yeah he lost out in the playoff in the end so one of those weeks H and no TV coverina no no not in the UK

Anyway uh I landed cam young uh I wasn’t expecting it oh by the way can we just get this one out there as well when I was doing the research for the cognizant classic last Sunday and Monday the long range weather forecasts had Sunday have tricky weather with electrical activity

Okay why did someone at the PGA 2 and not decide on Saturday night oh I tell you what we need to do we need to get them off early and we need to get them in thre SS off off one and off 10 I’d say it has to compromise their

Potential advertising revenue from the TV slots how did the revenue work on a Monday morning when no one was watching absolutely pretty low I would say and and to add to that you’ve pissed off a lot of um wealthy and possibly powerful members at seol who are supposed to who had

Their proam as well yeah it’s it’s amazing that you know to it is amazing that they didn’t go off early when you have that risk electrical activity yeah yeah I or just yeah dumb gamble or sorry it definitely in hindsight looks like a dumb gamble because they got dusted into

Monday I mean and it in the context of recent tournaments that have had weather issues it just the only decision seemed to be go off early and get it done particular it’s not as if they haven’t had previous this year is it yeah when they’ve got two events the following

Week and you know the logistics that must be involved in that um to to not have the foresight to try and preempt it is just absolute Folly in my you’ve got players there poll with this new Aon ranking system who don’t know where they’re playing the following week yeah

Precisely so you know there’s there’s a jet sitting there one to Orlando one to Puerto Rico I don’t know what one I’m getting on it all depends on what happens over the next couple of hours yep it’s Madness MH all for had the ti in revenues

Yeah wow y the only winners from that last week that fast last week were the live guys they must have been absolutely rubbing their hands together and now of course the pj2 has been taken over by this American Cash don’t don’t think this won’t end because it’s probably

Going to get worse it’s just an investment to these guys isn’t it it’s not about the product all very strange mate that’s to play a dome weren’t they yeah under flood lights well they’re they’re working the homogenization of the coures angle pretty well at the moment yeah but let’s

Hope Barry they haven’t homogenized Bay Hill When we arrive I haven’t seen anything to suggest that they have although the weather might have maligned Bay Hill slightly let’s move on to the Arnold Palmer Invitational of course one of the highlights of the year the champions list here is super Stellar Ernie El’s

Tiger Woods multiple times of course you’ve got to throw in there Matt Evy 2014 2015 one of Paul’s favorites Jason day lean maroy Franchesco Molinari when he was good tyell Hatton D Shambo Sheffer and then KK Kitt Arma creeped in last year it’s a cracking champions list as

You would expect at AR’s Place Bay Hill Country Club uh it was original Wilson and jool Lee Design in ‘ 61 B Palmer bought it took it over has played with it multiple times extended holes shave Banks you name it last renovation was in 2015 the current cor superintendent must have

Various difficult conver ations with the PJ tour I think because he likes to keep this test tricky and I can expect that the homogeneous you need to be oh can’t you can’t you get the hoses out today can’t you can’t you grow the rough round the greens and he must literally not

Have a mobile or and totally ignore it because he keeps this place tough um I categorize it as a Florida golf course clearly water everywhere uh classical old style technical because it tends to be 12 under is probably the lowest score you’d see winning this it’s also a very long golf course

7,466 yards a par 72 at sea level uh holes with water in play not as many as last week but nine number of bunkers 84 Acres of fa Fairway 31 the fairways here are nice and wide now compared to last week PJ National 25 yards at 300 yard carry this week 33 yards

Wide so you could get it out there with saw an interesting uh bit of con you know a few people saying it that although just the way the course plays out that the average driving distance even though it’s a long course on on yardage the average driving distance

This week for players is shorter because they’re trying to secure Fairways you know have Fairways gains rather than be in the roof yeah plus if they do run into the roof the roof is usually quite um thick so it stops the ball quickly which means that the course effectively

Plays longer than its yardage because you’re hitting slightly longer second shots than a regular standard go you know week or course would would lead you to have 100% correct certainly certainly no wedge firstest and also you tend to get very firm conditions here so the balls just roll and roll on those

Fairways which then can of course you can end up in that quite penal rough we’ve got we’re dealing with celebration Bermuda um rough that’s overseeded with perennial rights 3 in so it’s pretty it’s pretty gnarly uh the greens chunky 75,000 Square fet on average they are Tiff

Eagle Bermuda grass exactly what we saw last week at PGA National now the the thing I’m alluding to here Barry is that we’ve had a lot of rain here a lot of rain in Florida I think aot a lot of it was you know through the El Nino and whatever back in January

December they’ve had 5 and 1 half inches of rain since the turn of the year and I since I’ve been recording these numbers going back to 2013 I’ve never seen anything like that so it’s had plenty of water and we’re recording this Tuesday Morning in the UK apparently Tuesday afternoon

Local time in Florida right through to the start of play tomorrow morning for the proam say 88 9:00 50 60 70% chances of rain and thunderstorms so I’ve got a feeling we’re going to see a softer Bay Hill for Thursday than we usually see one thing I will say about

This golf course though is and I’m pretty certain that they’ve got um they’ve got all of the latest technology on the greens even when we’ve seen it rain here in previous I can remember dambo winning here and it hammered down on the Saturday and by the Sunday again it was

It was firm and extremely fast on the greens so I think they’ve got sub air big sub air here and of course it gets to 30° during the day so that that dries stuff out super quick so I reckon softer on Thursday when the wind lies down and then the

Proper tournament starts because Friday Saturday Sunday again your typical Florida 15 to 20 even Saturday gusting towards 25 to 30 week wins and that’s when it gets real real tough here great tournament always look forward to the Arnold Palmer great course super super not deep field as in number of players but

Clearly the quality as a signature event is absolutely off the charts this week anything anything you want to add before we move on to our selections chaps Ju Just a nice personal anecdote for this week my dad went and played baay Hill probably 18 20 years ago at this stage

And they had a lightning delay um so they had to you know back to the clubhouse take a bit of time and Arnold Palmer was just floating around and like for the the the delay for lightning was quite a long period of time and he spent the you know good hour

Walking between all the different groups having a chat for a few minutes it wasn’t just this quick meet and greet and um yeah like as if Dad needed another reason to be a big fan of Arnold Palmer but that like just absolutely locked it in just kind of his his

Personal kind of interaction with the man so he he particularly likes this week fantastic story BR nice Memories the other thing with Palmer is he’s got so many anecdotes from from you know from Pros where he literally gave them advice as an when they were amateur and

Clearly he gives out the he used to give out the I’m it’s still there isn’t it but he would give out an award every year to the best amate blah blah blah I know dish Amo talks about the fact that he would he would Ary would always be

There at the end of the phone whenever he needed advice and that that you can you can times that by 100 the amount of players that tell you that that he was always available for them yeah class out just on my numbers and this is this

Is what I’m going to get out there uh I never mentioned Shane Larry blubbing a 54 hole lead again Barry at the cognizant but as you said to us on our Skype group he is going to win The Masters so it’s all good probably will

Now it’s all good mate but do you not remember before he won the open there were lots of good stuff then a few whoops whoopsies here and there um I mean look there’s he’s he’s playing to win the the approach to what was it 17 I

Mean at that stage he had to push any it might have been 15 or 17 he had to push at that stage and he was trying to hit a perfect shot with a what probably one Club less rather than smooth a higher Club anyway goes in the water but I

Think the thing I took from that is he’s getting very close of he’s getting up there and uh he he is only playing to win so probably the way to back if you’re going to be backing Larry these days is for wins only because if he’s not going to win

He’ll probably go down you know probably drop a few shots trying and maybe miss the places so but there’s something there that like in that in the play he has right now that reminds me of what he had before he won the open we um don’t

Forget we were I think you and I were certainly on board the year that he to five or six a few years back which was a difficult Masters it was a very high scoring Masters so he had he got that monkey off his back Shan he he’s got a

Decent top five top six finish there which he didn’t have at that point so if that’s a gnarly one you know like a Danny Willet year and we’ve seen plenty of them recently cold blowy that’s when Larry you know no of course what happens to Shane Larry the

Two rounds where it was blowing 20 mil an hour he was the top scorer across Friday and Saturday combined with Austin erro soon as the wind laid down and there was and Golf Course got soft and people are firing birdes Shane goes backwards his his advant his Advantage

Is removed then you got it yeah absolutely he’s a he’s a conditions player Shane Lara or what what point I was actually getting to listen to this chaps over the last one two three four five six eight renewals here going back to Jason day Strokes gain T to Green of the

Winners in the in the field that had made the cut the rank average r rank is ninth that’s very low on the PJ tour I mean if you looked at PJ National last week the same rank was second in the field and guess what Austin ecro won

Again this year this year and he was first for strokes g t to Green uh Strokes game putting ninth so Strokes game te to Green as important as Strokes game putting at Bay Hill and that should tell any Scotty Sheffer backer you’ve hit the wrong you picked the wrong horse this

Week because Scottish I I actually noted it this morning I think the lowest Strokes game rank we’ve had in the last six seven years here is literally s of a stroke per round gain putting for people winning here you’ve got to make putts and a decent length of putts as

Well I think that’s also because you can’t get close to the pins here so you’re getting a lot of8 10 12 Footers for par you can’t the the idea of doing what hii did at at Genesis for all 72 holes here and literally getting the ball to

Dance within three to four feet of the pin and just tapping them in doesn’t tend to happen so we need people that can patent if Eagle Bermuda grass this week as well I’m going to go in reverse order for a change I tell I’m putting

Up bear in mind Kitt arm won this at 200 to one I’m putting up Eric Van Rowan I’ve gone a point each way and this is very rare for me but to be fair the eway places this week and the relative prices are very very poor

In this short field I’ve put him up 90 to1 with unibet six places each way when you look at Van Rowan his form in the past he can pull multiple contending P performances together over a period of time we saw it in 2021 he won the Barracuda which was a alternate event

Opposite event and then to get into the Tour Championship that year he finished seventh at Liberty National fifth at Cav’s Valley big events made it to the Tour Championship only time he’s done it I could kind of see him doing the same this week you know cuz clearly I

Mean that round he pulled together on on Sunday was phenomenal a PJ National this golf course is very similar a bit longer I actually put Eric Van royan up in 2021 he was 80 to1 in a full field that week so 90 to1 in this field coming off

A second just felt like the wrong price to me so I’m on EVR hopefully just to continue the run but as we said nap ecro Van Roy and I think they’re all in play this week yeah where are you guys out in terms of price I know one of your tips

Barry because you mentioned it earlier and we didn’t know if we were going to get you on the podcast but we’ve managed to do you want to go through sort of any triple digits you’ve got my net I mean I’m down to 40 to1 going the other way

So you that’s not the theme Steve that’s not the theme of the Season what’s going on well 40 to1 we had a joke that 40 to1 stroke 50 to one you need to be shopping way higher I I I might I might uh add van royan um after just looking at your tip

And makes sense and you know he ranks a very well in off to te approach uh pudding his around the green not the best but what they’ve how they’ve changed the course in recent years is to grow up the rough end the greens instead of having the runoffs which should

Benefit somebody with a not super hot short game he can just pop it on um not saying he’s he was down at the victor hin strug Les but yeah his um his stats match up match up well for what uh what they’re going to be facing

This week so I might be joining you on that Um I’m I’m a bit shorter this week I guess that’s just a factor of the the shorter field so um where I Min I say I’ve kind of got two in the same realm of odds I kind of missed at early prices I guess but I’m on Min Le and cam Young

So M mm is just playing fantastic golf at the moment got himself into into he’s one of those guys that you were talking about that got himself into this week by virtue of his play last week as I understand it which is just going to boost the confidence of a you know a

Young a young lad so he’s got plenty of length uh can can roll the rock really well so I just think go go with somebody who’s playing very well and the team there for you know first time winners is is set for this year so he’ll he’ll just

See this as a great opportunity keep keep the foot down and go get a win yeah I’ll let you do the cam young one and give better better rationale than I can well yeah I keep harking on about it don’t I President’s Cup year and these Internationals it’s every

Leaderboard now I went for Christian Baden hoot who last week was an absolute Abomination I’m sure he’ll probably finish T2 this week but cuz I’m not on him but um last week again I know clearly we’ve had nap win and we’ve had ecro win to you United States rookies

But you just look again last week Eric vanroy and minm Lee They just they’re packing the places and the competition to get into Mike we Squad is very very intense so yeah I can see the minw Lee logic I tear another player that I almost went for this week 100 to one Cam

Davis Australian top five at the PGA last year there’s a lot of you actually look at oakill kitty Arma finished fourth at oakill last year uh Scotty Sheffer finished second Bryson dambo finished fourth so they’re all previous winners here at Bay Hill and they all played

Extremely well at oakill at the PJ last year so there’s something in that Cam Davis was up there as well Shane lar was top 12 as well just out of interest um yes before I do Camy young I’m just going to chip in Harris English Harris

English at Riviera had his best te to Green performance for about six to eight months and I always think he’s over underrated he’s got four P2 of Victories his form here at Bay Hill is really interesting 14th way back in 2014 2015 he was second after 36 holes I take it

2015 Paul was another mat every year did he win in four was it 13 and4 everyone or was it 14 and 50 you’re old M might been 14 145 he won won that’s didn’t he he won 1415 Matt Jason day won in 16 so clearly that particular yeah

Yeah um we’ve got Harris English who was right in cont ion uh in 2015 that wasn’t every year he was second half 36 holes and eighth after 54 holes and over his last three visits he’s finished 9th 26th and second here for me loves the Bermuda four of

His two of his four victories on Bermuda so yeah I’ve gone for Harris English he was seventh at the Genesis last time out and he’s just kind of been percolating on on leaderboards 14th at the century 10th at the Sony 17th the Waste Management Phoenix Open and seventh at the Genesis

Invitational he’s also uh last year he was second here third at qu Hollow if you want a long classical Golf Course qualla is not a bad one he was also eighth at a Los Angeles Country Club where they played the US Open and of course sth last time out at Riviera so Harris

English I’ve got 40 to1 eight places each way with Bo Sports uh cam young yes we’re on the same I managed to get 33 to1 again with unibet 6 places each we 50 odds on cam young I expect there were better uh better odds and places available when the markets came out on

Monday he just I don’t know about you Barry just he seems pretty perfect for this golf course this golf course screams to me total driving and you know long straight works everywhere but it really works here and cam young is just all over the total driving stats at the

Moment he’s absolutely all over them 10th last week at PJ National he was seventh for total driving at Riviera Country Club and he was 11 for total driving at TPC Scotsdale the Phoenix Open always love as well here the link with Dubai I know that sounds crazy but

Rory maroy tyell hatton’s got a decent record over in uh he’s got a decent record at the Earth course got a decent record you know on the on the um Middle East swing on the DP World Tour Camy young third at deide this year as well

Behind Rory maroy um I just I just he’s had a 13th and the 10th here and of course he was fourth last week two nice birdies on Friday on the Sunday for me uh Monday I’ll get there eventually not the Friday not the Sunday the Monday everything looks to be in the

Right place from doesn’t it well apart from the fact he never wins yeah yeah yeah well I mean let’s see there’s always it has to happen sometime of course you just said the same about Scotty Sheffer before he won the Phoenix Open couple of years ago and then look what

Happened yeah just that was it got that monkey off the back and off you went come here you you just went back to Larry quickly he’s playing well but there’s some is there any logic behind backing somebody who has a truly terrible record at this course why would he have such a

Bad record here that’s what I couldn’t work out because I I don’t know for is cuts on a 67th and that was 67th was last year I don’t if Paul can help here as well if you look at DP well tour of the old Abu Dhabi and Dubai Desert

Classic split Shane won in Abu Dhabi but you look at his Dubai Desert Classic um form it’s poor if you look at maroy and tyell Hatton two winners here they both played brilliantly at the Dubai Desert Classic at that at that Dubai Golf Course and then yeah you look at you look at

Shane paor there he paor here as well at Bill Fleetwood another it doesn’t logically make much sense because of the if you trying to split the way that those um Middle East cor set courses set up then um Qatar and Abu Dhabi are more exposed than um I almost classify the Emirates course

To Dubai as a classical in style because you got dog legs and you need to shape the ball both ways to really make it work but you know classical style courses suit Shane Larry in my view you know look at his record at Wentworth it’s fantastic sometimes you just get these

Um these Oddities in the record don’t you strange I could work that I can’t work out Shane I can’t work out why Shane’s so good at PJ National and his form is to this point has been so po yeah the price is so good I have fomo really

Do Paul you haven’t chipped in with any tips yet no I’ve got a couple of mid-range ones um they are above where where you’ll be heading now so um first one I’ve backed is Jason day 40 to1 and the reason for that I’m looking back and you mentioned it a second ago the

Winners of these um these Signature Events so far this this year Windam Clark um Hideki matama you know these these guys are major championships CH major championship winners um available at a bable price and day for me at 40 to1 is bable sixth at Pebble Beach Ninth at the Genesis if

You look at his stats within that 14th for strokes G approach both times top 10 for strokes G Tia green on both occasions as well 10th last year cost one here as you mentioned a second ago in 2016 so um get some of course it if if there’s a narrative building these

Signature Events this season um then Jason day kind of fits that fits that timeline for me so happy to take him at 40s the other one I’ve backed um is hii Matti and again 50 to1 last time we saw him and you again you alluded to it a

Second ago he was just knocking the flags out Riviera last time we seen him and uh I don’t think he’s lost an arm since then so 50 to1 I can’t see any reason to to not not support him really he’s got a sixth place finish here is best and a couple

Of top 20s in in his last three attempts here first for strokes game TI green at the Genesis the number that got me and this ties in again with your Preamble third Strokes game putting from Hideki at Riviera we know yeah and we know when Hideki gets hot with a putter that he

Can string with win after win after win together cuz it just is that final oh final piece of the jigsaw for him he won what was it four in eight start something like that back in um and end of 2016 17 wasn’t it around then and um

That was when he was putting absolutely lights out so he owes me nothing after the the last outing I’ll stick with him 50 to one immensely back for me for a player who deck his capability he deck his record of stringing WIS together is phenomenal completely 100% concur with

That I really do the only thing that I had a good look at hii this morning and the thing that put me off him well it won’t surprise anyone he just can well until this point and like you said he puted lights out at uh at uh

Riviera his pting record here is a is abomination and you know seeing what they you know seeing what we’re seeing about youve got to be top 17 top 18 minimum to win here patting across the week I tell where he does Pat better pole I’ve just brought the numbers up on

My screen positive last year for pting positive in 2019 for patting positive in 2016 for patting TPC Sor grass next next week yeah well see how he goes this week if if he’s 50 to one again next week yep I’ll be joining you Paul he’ll win this

Week he’ll win next week he’s on the hearted Dei streak right yeah potentially well yeah yeah it does happen I’d be very surprised if hii just wins one and then disappears for nine months that doesn’t happen he tends to win and then you might find you know a

Decent finish and then he wins again it it it’s just a it’s just his way of playing golf he strings wins together he’s 33 to1 best price for the Masters generally 25 to 28 so it’s twice the price to win a non major this week in a shorter field in short field

He was fifth Mis cut eighth last three years at s grass okay yeah clearly gets on with that golf course so and he’s just got a string of top 20s here isn’t it and it’s all because the putter just didn’t fire that particular week if he does keep the

Poter going he’s going to be seriously up at the top of the leaderboard undoubtedly yeah it was worth taking a punt in my view I think so and we’ve all talked ourselves into a mats armor B next week as well remember that when I don’t tip him up next week yeah

Yeah my beau wife I’m going to have another word with her to can you tell me on Sunday next week I start playing this all together just go with your gut picks p and I tell you what I’ve done exact I have actually done that this week my two

At the top of the market and I say top of the market I’ve gone for 20 to1 the both bearing in mind we’ve got Sheffer at 13-2 maroy 9 to1 hin at 14s Chef Xander at 16s Klay at 16s so we’ve got uh what was that six shorter than both

Of these I’ve gone for Jordan SP and S Burns I put in my commentary you just get Jordan spe tracks and what goes on before after or around it makes no difference whatsoever he just turns up at certain courses and plays really really well and you jumped on him at

Calura at the first tournament of the Year Barry and he gave you a good run for your money yeah yeah did all right but I’ve got a feeling that he could go well here again two fourths and part of the the stats you pull together Paul if

You just look at Strokes gain total here for players that have played this event more than once he is number one in this field and when you can see a course that isn’t all about te to Green there’s elements to it if you can drive the ball

Well chip the ball well and Putt well you can contend it’s a Jordan spe course especially when those winds get up and it’s and it’s and I’ll tell you one thing that spe is doing consistently well at the moment driving the ball really really well his Strokes gained off the T

Numbers are brilliant right now and I believe I know he signed for the wrong card thing is Riviera is not his track that is not a Jordan spe track yeah but here is and we know that the Masters is going to be he’s in good Nick Jordan spe

I tell the number that grabbed my attention he was n for total driving at the Phoenix Open a few weeks ago where he was also eighth for strokes game pting if he could do the same here top 10 for off the te total driving and top

10 for patting I don’t think it’d be a million miles away and the other one is Sam Burns another he’s driving the ball so Elite at the moment it’s unbelievable first for total driving at the Phoenix Open he was first for total driving at Riviera I been on him the

Last those both of those events and I just know soon as I step off he’ll win and as we know with Burns all five of his wins have been on Bermuda grass golf courses four of those had Bermuda grass greens the one exception was colonial which features

Bent grass greens but Bermuda grass from tea to Green including rough so I just think Burns in the Southeast on a Florida golf course he’s from Louisiana yeah it works for me so Burns and SP at the top so I’ve gone SP Burns spe camon Harris English and

EVR do you want to just uh summarize your tips and we’ll move on well I haven’t got to my top tip yet oh really G Barry this isn’t like you Barry this is really out of character but it’s the case is compelling he is fourth in Your Strokes

Gained for uh Bay Hill with 32 rounds which is truly amazing two the people above him have only played four or eight rounds he uh yeah look I just I think Rory Rory’s got something coming I’m I’m all in on him for the Masters I I’m just convinced that

Everything just merges and it just happens this year so I think there’s another way somewhere between now and then and this is just a perfect week in terms of distance from the Masters to get the win reset and be ready for that how how do you back Rory maroy in

This circumstance have you gone on the exchange or have you gone have you gone for a mixture of exchange and bookmaker or all bookmaker what have you done with a lot of points um all I haven’t bothered with each way I’ve just loaded up on the nose Book Maker yes not

Exchange uh what did I do I think I went on with the bookie actually just there was very little between bookie and the exchange that it actually made no difference whether it was bookie or the exchange like I’m not going to lay it out either I’m just I’m all in like Let

It Ride exactly backing bu your point I’m looking at our Strokes gain analysis which you guys can access in the podcast description below take away KK Kitty he’s only ever played here once Jordan Speed 2.48 uh Strokes gained across eight rounds ranks number one T2 Scotty sheffer’s played 12 rounds

Here Rory maroy as you alluded to 32 rounds they sit at 2.44 Strokes gained you’ve then got Patrick Klay at 2.36 only ever played it last year and Sun J IM below that with Cam young he’s he’s played here n nine times and he’s only finished out outside the top 13

Once yeah amazing and that was 27th I suppose if we’re talking about Jordan Speed tracks this is definitely a Rory maoy track yeah the surprise is he’s only won once with th with that like level of performance so that’s why I just I can’t I could I couldn’t ignore him this week

I saw him do hitting a few really good three Woods last week on holes when he could have hit driver so it kind of you know I don’t know if I’m just connecting dots that don’t even exist but it feels like there’s some real course strategy and working with you know just plotting

His way around and being smart and I just feel like that that kind of um level of you know um picking a course apart could really work well again this week um and he’s got previous as well so yeah on the nose on Rory first for off

The te and first for Te to Green last week of course he was 64th of those that made the cut in putting so as we know with Rory that is tends to be a recipe for Success doesn’t it all of a sudden he’ll make start he’ll start making some parts and

Boom yeah I personally I would take Rory marroy this week 10 times out of 10 over Scotty Sheffer on that narrative you win Scotty wins this by six what we’re going to be saying on Tuesday next week on the podcast right let’s move over to the DP well tour a

Quickly pul another one of these co-sanctioned events with the sunshine tour it is yeah last of our three event trip over to Africa um before the tour heads over to Singapore and India head of head ahead ahead of the Masters in a few weeks time yeah another low grade

Co-sanctioned Affair as you say actually a betting heat that I really like there was some juicy prices which I was pleasantly surprised at when I worked through it yesterday the market top of the market now backed into to clear favorite overnight is Tristan Lawrence a little

About 18 to1 but I think he’ll go off about 14 to1 tends to be where the price is heading towards at the moment Tom McKibben 20s Yan Ferguson 22 Xander Lombard same price 22 to1 Smith 28 to1 antoan Rosner 28 same price again Raya Hino 30 to1 bar those Players Ball

Sports eight places each way 50 of the odds of standard this week bet 365 again as ever have their each way extra option running this week and of course they’ve got it running over at Bay Hill as well which in a short man field can give you

Lots of each way extra or each way Place options in terms of the venue we’ve moved from stain city which hosted this event last year to Glend da golf club which is on the outskirts of Johannesburg this is a classical Charles Hugh Allison design that dates back to 1937 played at altitude

7,594 yards par 72 play significantly shorter as we know these altitude tracks 7,594 yards probably plays closer to 697 ,000 yards something like that the players tend to just translate yards for meters and that’s a very fair comparison at this altitude it is a treelined Parkland track though Fairways were

Narrowed ahead of the 2013 South African open that was hosted here and it’s not been a complete pushover it’s not an out andout birdie Fest but it is scorable for players who can play well here um it’s a fair point the South African open one actually we

Do have plenty of course form for this week even though we’ve moved from last year’s venue number of South African opens were held here there’s been a smattering of sunshine tour events as well so all of these are detailed in this week’s event course stats and on

The combination stats as well so if you want a view of players who have played well in the past here at glendow then uh take a look at those stats now the weather this week doesn’t look to be as much as a factor as perhaps some recent

Weeks it’s going to be warm and sunny light winds pretty much throughout 5 to 10 miles an hour we could however see some rain overnight potentially some quite heavy rain on Thursday now should that come and it does look like it’s quite likely then that will soften the

Course up and potentially make it a little bit more scorable so on that basis it will probably be a little bit deeper scoring than perh perhaps it could otherwise have been last year Nick Beckham won this um it was at stay city as I said 100 to one pretty irrelevant

Really of more relevance are the events that were held here so going back 2013 Morton Oram Madson won this at 19 under Andy Sullivan I was on him Andy Sullivan that year 2015 11 under 2016 Brandon stone at 14 under 2017 Graham storm 18 under remember what he held off Rory

That week 2018 Chris Paisley 21 under they were South African opens more recently on the sunshine tour Danny van Tonda won in 2020 at 11 under through 54 holes and last week’s uh playoff loser Robin Williams won in 2023 so last year 19 under that was a sunshine Tour event

Again over 72 hole so if you’re looking at scoring generally it tends to be mid to high teens I suspect with the The rain that’s coming it will probably be I don’t know if I was dep pin a number on it 181 19 under I’d say it would

Probably be the the number this week somewhere in that kind of bracket now we’ve got no strikes game data at all for this course historically so we’ve only got a a look at some of the basic stats that were captured on various events over the years here and to be

Fair it doesn’t really help us massively if you pick the B out of some of those names I read through grah storm well he hit 71% of Fairways that’s kind of his Mo um so that was his key strength most of the guys that I read through hit 75%

Or more greens in regulation but then not Andy Sullivan he was down in the 60s he scrambled well putted well most of them scrambled well um but not Brandon Stones so you know I I don’t think there’s a single route to success here I don’t think there’s a single stat that you

Could pick out if you’re going to pick just one and it’s again it’s going to be an old old money because we don’t have any of the strk game data then it’d have to be putting average I think every winner here that’s been recorded um was in the top 16 or better

For putting average on the week but other than that um it seems to be like a decent all round test really the altitude brings the medium hitters into it as well par fivs are getable particularly with the thin air so finding the fairways and the par FES and

Giving yourself a good opportunity at birdies and Eagles is pretty key here I think not much to say about corom either I the the the results and the form of the players who have one here on this course prior to their wins is pretty sporadic so um

It’s one of those events one of those weeks I think where we’re going to have to trust our instincts a little bit more than the statistics anyway that’s the way I’ve gone I’ve backed five this week one from the top of the market and then four much longer prices and the guy at

The top of the market for me is the guy at the very top of the market now Tristan Tristan Lawrence 18 to1 um as I say I think you’ll find it’ll be backed into around about 140 maybe 16 if you’re lucky by the time they start but I think

That’s fair for a player who in my view should be and is the uh the market leader here uh four times DP World Tour winner now um that’s all since the back end of 2021 and three of those have come at altitude the joerg open the Amega

Masters at Craner the South African open all three of them altitude test the other win came at last year’s BMW International open which again does hold a little bit of correlation to this and all four of them came with winning scores of between 12 and 18 under which

Again I think is pretty bang on for this week’s test last played here in 2020 in the sunshine tour he finished 15th he’s a different player now he’s he’s immeasurably better than he was back in those 2020 Sunshine tour days in my view fifth at the DP World Tour Championship in

November um second at the Dubai invit Invitational in January and then more recently 19th in Kenya 10th last week at s Francis links and that was after a pretty slow start he was doing nothing into the weekend and then played really well over the weekend finished 10th for

Me looks absolutely Prime for this Tristan Lawrence so um his top yeah three points each way I went on Tristan so a reasonable investment for me at 18 to one the other four I say all longer prices the shortest of which or shortest of whom is Daniel Vonda Danny vond 90

To1 eight plays is each way I took there is 100 to one out there if you want to take fewer each way plays es but I went 90 with the eight now all nine of banta’s professional wins have come on the African continent over the years he won

The Kenya Savannah Classic on the DP World Tour he won the 2021 South African open they’re the two highest profile events that he has won both of them at altitude too um he won the 2020 South African Tour Championship here at glendow um over 54 holes that was by

Three Strokes so he’s got some good course for him was in contention again here in October at The Fortress invit Invitational that was the sunshine Tour event held here eventually finished in a tie for 12th and decent enough over his last three outings 10th 27th 20th um I

Think you can take the positives out of last week’s event some Francis lyns as well he was five over through 10 holes so staring a Miss cut in the face and got his act together and put together a decent closing what 62 go from there on

P seem to be working quite nicely um I I was surprised pleasantly surprised at Danny vonda’s price this week so happy to take him at n9s another one of the eye catchers last week was Adrian Al 100 to one I’ve taken him didn’t quite go to plan on Sunday

For the uh for the Spaniard but it was ninth going into the final date you got bear in mind he had um his four previous outings 53rd from 60 players at Dubai the Dubai Invitational Mis cut Mis cut Mis cut so he came in with absolutely no

Form so to find himself on the fringes of contention going into Sunday um was a bit of a bit of a change for him you know I think he could been excused for being a little bit ring Rusty last week he’s got no competitive form here but

There’s lots of relevant um results over his time on the tour to suggest that he could go well he lost the playoff at Peak andwood in 2022 um that’s another long altitude South African track second at the uh in Kenya second at the Czech Republic at

The Prague event both of those got a little bit of altitude to varying degrees in them as well runner up at last year’s SDC Championship again on South African soil so I think he could go well um it is his debut but historically that’s not been overly

Problematic for the winners here 100 to one for a player of an Al’s quality seemed fair to me and the other two sha Norris 125 to1 I backed him yesterday he has been back quite heavily 100 to1 maybe 110 to1 right now best pric is now

I remember back in sha Norris at that that same Peak andwood event that I just mentioned um a couple of years back he opened with a 65 and drifted away to 47th I left him alone um and then he won the next week at stain City so it so

Happened so often happens doesn’t it similar scenarios this week I think he opened with a 65 last week and then fell away now he’s much closer to home this week he can sleep in his own bed he’s got his support from his friends and family he wheeled him in last time when

They uh when he won that uh won that event um a couple of years back potentially it’s a similar vibe to to this week I think and don’t forget I mean this is a guy Shawn Norris he’s won six times on the Japan tour over the years two of them were Japanese Majors

He got as high as 54th in the world at one point yeah I remember when we used to see his name pop up on the WGC and the major championship entry list and it’s kind of who’s this sha Norris and where’s he getting his points from but

Yeah he was he was pretty prolific wasn’t he back 11 professional wins cross different to us three on the sunshine too yeah yeah it’s yeah he he’s a player who can win and he’s got some course form as well third and Ninth here in the past decent pter and uh his long

Game looks on on point last week as well so yeah again the three figure price on Sha Norris I’m invested in that one as I am finally on Okie strum who are back last week I’m sticking with oi similar equation to last week happy to take

Another chance on him this week he was born and bred in Kempton Park which um if my geography is correct in South Africa is we’re talking 15 miles maybe from this week’s venue so I thought it was in s is that that’s the GG course is it

Yeah I think I think if you did a um a Google Maps from Kempton Park to Joe Berg and got the wrong one I think it would uh it probably show you quite a distance but yeah he’s I think another one he can stay in his own bed this week

Like sha Norris and I don’t think you should underestimate that I think the Positive Vibes that being at home can bring is is huge three top 20s here at Glend there over the years and as I said last week um decent enough form coming into this this is a guy who often misses

Strings of cuts but fourth in Bahrain 16th in Qatar 31st last week and there were times where I I got reasonably excited that he might make a an attempt to get into serious contention I think he’s worth sticking with again 200 to one as he was when he opened last week

On Oki strum so strum Norris Adrian house Danny Vonda and Tristan Lawrence for me Barry any thoughts for this South African event um I’m following you on a d said African Lads I just like the connection can’t really add much more uh than to what you’ve said there there’s some nice

Prices and let’s roll uh the only one I’ve had myself is James Nicholas who had a good week last week um won his card in the um Q School uh back at the the end of last year and that’s his best finish so far last week was

12th he had a bit of a bit of a messy Sunday shooting 75 so could have could have had a much higher finish so I’m just feeling that that’ll motivate him even more and you know get the focus on and hopefully puts four good rounds together this week he is 100 to one

Seven places I got yeah it was an eye catcher wasn’t it again another player that I don’t know a great deal about out cuz he’s been playing wasn’t he playing the Canadian tour corn faery or yeah um so he’s obviously come over here to to try his arm but as you say um

You know decent enough effort um last week and uh we’ll see how he progresses from here it might be one of these that you’re getting at three- figure price and you really won’t get him at a three fig price much longer when he raises his head above one good result yeah one good

Result and it won’t happen because he’s um he’s pretty popular in terms of uh his social media has over 100,000 followers on Instagram and there on Tik Tok as well so yeah one good result and the the spotlight will go on him and I think that price will disappear so

Hopefully catch the week that he just goes and grabs a win but even a place would be good perhaps that’s what we need to do Steve bit of Tik Tok get some followers up brilliant stuff good luck with that one Barry what about you Steve any uh any James Nicholas plays Westchester Country

Club so nice nice golf course over in the United States um none for me now I’m focusing on Puerto Rico Puerto Rico uh if you want my Puerto weo open preview it will be out later today which is Tuesday so it’ll be Tuesday afternoon follow me at banford golf I will tweet

It not called tweets anymore are they clearly what they called posts I will post it out later sweet sounds much I hear a phrase that I’m really absolutely hating that I keep hearing on the PJ tour from downtown oh my God those B those basketball commentators HEI from downt when you

Watch the pj2 highlights which are driil anyway because they show you absolutely nothing to do with the tournament and how it’s shaping up whatsoever they’re showing you some bloke that’s made a 50ft putt from downtown who’s seven over par um yeah it’s all it’s all about the

Birdies on if I keep hearing it’s just this year is going to it’s going to destroy me he’s made one from downtown they they just need the PJ tour people just need to go to the DP world tours like media people’s Ted Talk how to how to do that content right yeah

Yeah that’s one thing they did unbelievable mate it’s unbelievably bad are they doing anything right on the PJ to at the moment it’s not a positive way to end the podcast I do apologize but when I keep hearing from downtown 37 times across a 4- day tournament it just

Drived you crazy but still it might be on your players this week doubt might it it might change change your entire perception of it’ll be hii Hideki making 90 Footers from downtown for for Eagle yeah i’ say hopefully I hope your bets Go real Champs boys good luck to the listeners

We will be back next week for they call it the fifth major don’t they The Players Championship from TPC s grass see you next week goodbye if you on but everyone that you back misses the cut get some experts Involved with all the stats and the tips and so much more cuz it’s the golf beding system the golf beding system it’s the golf beding system Podcast

  1. 5 Minutes in and have to comment on the Jake Knapp Review.. I totally agree with Paul, I been watching him closely for a few more weeks than just the recent two, I really got the L Aberg feel about him… He really looks the real deal at the moment.

  2. I'm with Barry – 9s for Rory at Bay Hill can't be left alone. Also like Aberg this week Will Z should also be good tee to green. Watch them all miss loads of putts now I've backed them

  3. Cheers chaps, good stuff.
I've gone Bradley, Kirk and List stateside Sullivan, Aiken and Winther in S Africa and Whalley, Schmidd and Biondi in Peuto Rico.
Hopefully one them can sink a few putts from down town. Good luck!
