Evans ended up going back to Tampa Bay all right this guy is now the wide receiver one for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers certainly a shock as well because he is on the wrong side of the 30 he’s getting paid close to $26 million per year on a two-year deal 52

Million and I’ll tell you what I mean I like even was looking at like the odds on BET us prior to this contract being announced and man I’ll tell you what dude I did not think that the Bucks were going to go out there and land the guy

It doesn’t make sense to me I’m heads scratching I’m happy about it because the last thing I wanted was that guy to be on the Kansas City Chiefs that was the absolute last thing I wanted last thing I wanted was him to be in the division in the AFC East either but it

You know it’s a high aav but it’s short term it’s not like they just gave him a 5-year contract for 26 mils two years I feel like the Bucs were smart to do it and as Jets fan I’m I’m definitely disappointed because that same reporter reported today that the Jets weren’t

Even interested in Mike Evans now that really raises an eyebrow for me because I’m like oh we’re not we were not interested in Mike Evans was it because we couldn’t afford that type of contract are we going a different Avenue in the wide receiver position like so from a

Jets perspective hearing that the Jets were not even interested in Mike Evans really raises some concerns of the level of wide receivers we’re looking at in the free agency or trade market um because we all know that the jets are in need of have a wide receiver around

Garrett Wilson to fill out this team um with Aaron Rogers so from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers perspective I really think it was smart by them you want to take care of your own they’re they’re entering a weird stage as an organization debucks because now what’s next for Baker

Mayfield right um they made to they went to the playoffs with Baker Mayfield so obviously they would like to have him return uh but the question really remains is how are they going to be able to get to the promised land and I feel like Mike Evans even though the report

Said Mike Evans wants to play with a elite quarterback a team that wants to go to the Super Bowl but nope he’s staying with the Bucks a team that’s I don’t want to say they’re far away because they just won their division the worst division of football but he

Decided to stay home on a good contract so when it’s all said and done not too shocking uh but definitely from a Jets fan perspective disappointing see I’m looking at it from this perspective right and I feel like a Mike Evans move is a win now sort of

Move and don’t get me wrong I I mean I still think that Mike Evans has a lot of gas left in the tank there’s nothing suggesting that he is going to regress by any stretch of the imagination with over a thousand a thousand a thousand a thousand yard seasons stacked up stacked

Up but I look at this Tampa Bay Buccaneers team and they just paid a bag to a guy who’s on the wrong side of 30 where you have an absolute deep wide receiver class and we’re going to get into some of the prospects that stood

Out at this point I feel like the only way that you pay Mike Evans that sort of money is as if you have some snowballs chance in hell in being a Super Bowl Contender and I’m not sure about you boys I like Baker Mayfield I like the

Story of Baker Mayfield I like what the Buccaneers are doing but I wouldn’t put them in my top 10 list of Super Bowl contenders next year in 2024 I feel like it was really mismanaged from top to bottom and I’ll say it again listen I am

Just thrilled like this is a win for me because he’s not on the Kansas City City Chiefs and the Chiefs are going to have to roll the dice uh maybe through another free agency pickup or maybe through the draft by itself but it just it just doesn’t get it this is in my

Opinion mismanaged if they wanted a wide receiver they could have easily picked up Keon Coleman or ad Mitchell or Troy Franklin or Xavier Legette and I’m not saying they won’t do that but it just we’re all way worse than Mike Evans interesting TD what do you got

What do you got Mike Evans stays in Tampa um I personally didn’t see it coming either but you know I’m this makes me wonder about the baker Mayfield situation you know what’s going to be the conclusion for that you know from a monetary standpoint what can they afford

What’s going on with their books um but they got a good price they got got a good price you know some people say oh man look at this massive deal technically if he was five years younger it would be 32 33 million he’d be setting the market but this is just a pure

Reflection of his age um getting an annual of 27 they only guarantee did Richie said one year and a little bit more right that’s all and that was the incentive to do the deal this is technically a one-year deal with a little bit of like $ million carryover

To incentivize them to maybe have a year or two and if things go south can get off of it and have a minimal amount of dead cap this is a great deal for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Baker Mayfield has to get paid now but they don’t have to

Frontload anything so um the way that they’re setting up they’re getting their books in order from the past and um they’ll be able to move forward in a good position I’m just more interested to see how the baker Mayfield deal turns out but this takes a weapon off the

Board for many teams many teams could have used his services and made them a much better team you know the Jets they they were up there oh he’s got the soundboard I shouldn’t have recommended that soundboard the Jets were up there and they wanted it and as soon as the

Breaking news came out that he’ll be resigning with Tampa all you heard were crickets all right man hey I’m loving it I’m loving it but that’s all I got on that on that matter man it’s um he’s he’s he’s where he needs to be a lot of teams definitely

Would have loved to have him but let me say this before I before I conclude on that I think he did test the open market already see what people need to realize is he was just a free agent and he went into free agency free agency started

Last week people okay it’s it’s the UN it’s the unspoken rule you don’t think these agents are you don’t think yeah of course it’s tampering but it’s a these agents are on every team these agents are talking to general managers up and down and and it’s in general in just hey

You know if if if you guys were interested in a guy like Mike Evans how much would he be worth if you guys were that’s the language they use you know they putting out feelers yeah I want to know from the general manager standpoint you know so that’s how that works in all

Of these teams are already talking you think that team’s come up with their plan for free agency as soon as the clock hits no they already have a plan they’re already calling they already know what they have a chance at and what they don’t have a chance at they know

All of this stuff already this is a fact yes they do Richie they have their plan you right they have their plan but right when the new league year strikes that’s when they can begin to execute the plan and make the calls if they don’t do that

If they do the way you’re saying then there’s people getting in trouble and there’s half team trouble Richie they don’t get in trouble why do you think they like you first of all this is recent that they created the legal tamping tampering period they just got tired of knowing that everybody was

Doing it so they made a legal tampering period they every team does this they make their plan we’re not they’re not they’re not executing their plan but they’re f finding out if their plan can work and and what it will take and then they’re altering their plans and as soon

As free agency hit they attack what they feel they can do and there are a few surprises but this is a man everybody already know who they have a chance at and who they don’t so I have to so I got to agree with TD like right to an extent

Man I mean if you think that all of these like high-profile Sports agents are just you know playing by the rule book to a te that these guys aren’t having like an impromptu golf outing uh with a GM of the Raiders or like a GM with whatever or they’re having drinks

Like off the Record blah blah blah I think they have a pretty good understanding I think that there’s tampering all the time man we’re talking about these high-profile agents I’m sure we can all like I’m sure we can already picture what these guys look like right

Now you know like hammered at the bar with a nice little oldfashioned nice little cigar hey you know so uh if say for example you were interested in a 32y old receiver that’s had over 10 years of a thousand yards what would you give this guy just out of curiosity they call

It consultation then hey um I want to make sure my client I want to make sure my client gets the right amount so how much would he be worth to you as a general manager you know okay okay and then then the um general manager says yeah man he would definitely be worth

That amount because we’re looking for a guy like that so you know if he’s available at that time that’s pretty much what I would pay for a guy like him you know it’s it’s it’s all illegally legal and the NFL doesn’t care they don’t care they just know some people

Started to get caught a little and called out so they made the legal tampering period now with Mike Evans off the board I mean I’m looking at some of these names right like that was hands down the biggest name in free agency Higgins might still be traded even

Though he was tagged right so they might pull that situation but right now I’m seeing Odell Beckham Jr I’m trying to think of like big names you have uh Ridley is one uh Michael Pitman I really don’t think this is gonna be a year this offseason where we see a lot of big

Moves in the wide receiver category I really don’t I think that they’re probably just gonna have to rely on the draft this year I don’t see really moves in the wide receiver category don’t sleep on the trade market you got to talk about Brennan auk as an option

Right Stefon Diggs right there’s a lot of wide receivers that could get traded as well true it’s gonna be a trade market than free agency well no it’s going to be a large free agent Market because look at how many middle of the road wide receivers there are

Available see the best of the best yeah that’s all there are but teams are gonna try to look at them and say who’s the best options those guys are going to get paid to a degree the number twos the number threes they’re actually their value is about to go up because it’s so

Many of them and teams are going to be trying to jock position for the best of those mid-range guys that could be number twos and number threes look at Miami we got Tyreek and W but who’s our number three we don’t have one Braxton berriel berel a free agent took a

Receiver in the first round yeah I saw that at number 21 first of all that that that that kid is projected to be a top 10 especially after the combine um they have you take uh who was it let me see no they had you take Troy Franklin but he

Um I I I I listened to him and with brother there supporting him in the first row um it was a beautiful thing but it just makes you step back for a second away from even being a fan and just understanding you know their personal life you know the dreams that

Came true you know especially the family the camaraderie the Brotherhood and his brother his time in the league it was just an emotional moment man and I just thought that it was actually beautiful I thought that it was the epitome of what football is I thought

Brought to the table on the field but at the center position you can find really good centers that can pick up where he left off um you know you it’ll be hard pressed to find a guy of his caliber but they could find a guy who can do enough

To help jayen Herz you know continue to um try to be a a high level quarterback but they got to fix some other parts on that line and on that team in general you know that’s not just it but I think they’ll be able to replace him if they

The locker room and and as an organization and that’s just completely uh an energy that you can’t replace um so that’s going to hurt them number one number two the Eagles as a franchise have really prioritized the offensive line for years they’ve always been I always looked at them and admired how

Great their offensive line is Lane Johnson you know you can go down the line they just have like solid guys that’s on that team for franchise Eagles and now with that him leaving um it’s definitely going to make things a very interesting not going to be easy to

Replace him uh and seeing the closure that they got was definitely heartwarming it’s the reason why we heard from Jason Kelce that he was upset that the uh rumors got leaked that he was retiring like right after the season ended because he wanted to have a moment

Like this uh where he can announce it on his own timing with his family there with his brother there with his everybody watching I mean it’s a very very um sincere sincere thing that’s happening with uh Kelsey so definitely definitely something that I will be

Looking at I don’t know if you guys saw the uh Kelsey um what is there like a breaking news or something oh there is oh there is ladies and gentlemen breaking news the Dolphins will not franchise tag standout defensive tackle Christian Wilkins this is per and raport meaning the longtime

Pillar of Miami’s defense will be a free agent Wilkins will be one of the top free agents regard regardless of the position how do you feel about that TD damn bro damn man I know you wanted them back I know you wanted them back and it’s all but confirmed ladies and gentlemen on

First round number 13 overall pick like I want you to think about that we drafted this man in the first round 13th overall pick you want them to be great so that you could have a franchise player for a long time and you literally drop the ball and

Don’t even resign him on a long-term contract extension and now we have no leverage the ball isn’t in our court he’s entering free agency and the saddest part about it is where was the contingency plan where was the backup where was the draft pick or someone to sit behind him last year to

Make this transition easier because if you lose him now we can plug another guy in we have absolutely no one ladies and gentlemen that’s there to plug in we have to now hope that we could find a guy in free agent just a random guy whether he’s good or not that’s what

We’ve been depleted down to because Chris Greer did not handle this situation properly and the reason why he couldn’t handle it properly was because of his previous failures he has failed in so many draft picks that people don’t think about and then he had to go replace

Those players and get rid of draft picks and players to go replace his failures to hide his failures so he couldn’t have a backup plan jayen Ramsay is only on this roster because he failed with Cam Smith and fail with no egg monogamy two high draft

Picks that didn’t work out we could have used that that that um top pick that we use on Ramsey you should have had a better plan with Tyreek Hill you gave up a first rounder a second rounder and a multitude of late round picks you could have drafted players in those later

Rounds and last but not least Bradley chub a whole first round pick I want you guys to think about this Tyre Hill Jaylen Ramsey and Bradley chub were three first round picks a second round pick and multiple late round picks we could have continued on the rebuild and

Drafted players to continue now that we have these big contracts from those guys we can’t afford anyone we stop rebuilding instead we start buying and and US buying a playoff appearance can’t even get a playoff win I don’t like this at the end of the day

Um now they have to hope that they’re the highest biders he already knows Miami’s cut price and he’s going into free agency because he feels he’s going to get more in the open market so this is this is all on the general manager he handled this

Situation very poorly and here we are as dolphin fans having to pick up the pieces and live with the with this situation and you talk about a great teammate you talk about one of the few leaders on the team one of the guys who puts everything on the line one of the

Best Hustlers on the field just this is the guy let me ask you this does this almost confirm for sure that Tua is about to get a Mega deal uh you know you know the sad part about it is Tua deal is going to take some time it could happen late

Late in the off season but yes he’s going to get a deal because Chris Greer is still trying to hide his flaws and we all know the ultimate flaw is at what position the the the ultimate flaw that any general manager wants to hide because they’re paid to get it right the quarterback

Position and then he’s hitting so many flaws what’s going to be any difference with Tua Tua isn’t a bad quarterback but Tua isn’t a guy that’s going to take us over the top because we can’t afford to keep everything around him and losing a guy like Christian Wilkins not having a

Safety on the roster not having xaven Howard not having a good defensive um middle linebacker and having two guys coming off of major injuries on a defensive end position this defense might take a major step backwards and our offense is highly unlikely to take a major step forward this is setting us up

For fail in my opinion this is not a good look for this team and it’s all on Chris Greer so at the end of the day um Tua they’re going to pay him and that’s where the mistake because here’s the messed up part you trade Tua you go get a guy like Michael

Pennick or one of the young quarterbacks now you can afford Christian Wilkins you can afford Conor Williams you can afford Robert hunt you can afford all the people that we’re about to let walk but he’s going to choose Tua and these are the consequences for it damn Richie thoughts on this

Man expected um I I I don’t really I had a feeling that this was going to happen definitely you know if you’re Dolphins fan this is not the greatest news this is your captain this is a player that you want to kind of build your defense

Around this is a a homegrown Talent when you invest a First round picking somebody it does something not only for the organization but the fans attach to their first round pick as one of their own and you get an emotional attachment to these players and Christian Wilkins

Has the hearts of Miami Dolphins fans and the fact that the front office of the Miami Dolphins are not prioritizing bringing Wilkins back I think it was a mistake for them to not extend him earlier on so they avoid they tried at a discount though Richie they tried to lowball him the

General manager said a few weeks ago he bet on himself by not taking that deal and he won that’s what the general manager said he bet on himself and one yeah I mean that that’s devastating that is absolutely devastating to hear that uh and listen not everybody’s going to

Be taking Hometown discounts and I feel like that’s what you know the two sides are never on the not not never but it takes two sides to be on the same page and I don’t know if what the Dolphins are going to do from here because who do

You have on that defensive line interior-wise that’s going to replace that production not only just looking at that I’m am just pulling it up right now I’m trying to figure out like who’s who’s GNA be but again like not even just his impact on the field like I feel

Like so many people forget the impact of these football players outside of their you know overall play on the field like Wilkins correct me if I’m wrong TD has a giant voice in the locker room he’s a captain he’s a leader of men he’s somebody that the team around him looks

Up to he galvanizes that defense like you want to have a stud on three levels of the defense and Wilkins Woods that stud on that defensive line the front line of defense right I know you got jayen Phillips and Bradley chub on the edge but I feel like Wilkins was that

Guy that really held it all together and was that player that really like made the Miami Dolphins defense a presence to be known and in in today’s NFL I think the most you know unique and um priority position I feel like that’s trending to be one of the most priority positions

That defense is trying to get is an elite defensive def uh inside Defender because the edge rushers are flashy and everything but if you can get interior pass rush like Wilkins does on a consistent basis that is the way you can get to the elite level quarterbacks

Interior pass rush is a lot different than an edge rush and I feel like for the Miami Dolphins to do this they better have a backup plan to not only replace them but add even more depth across that defensive line uh because this is not a good look they don’t have

I don’t think it’s going to change um which order the quarterbacks go off the board but I think he did make himself a top 10 pick I think that he did well enough to where now we might see four quarterbacks go in the top um 10 you

Know we already know Caleb Drake may but Jaden Daniels is going to be the third one off and I think that JJ McCarthy a team will move up and try to draft him now in the top 10 potentially um to lock him down I think he had a really good

Combine he didn’t pass Jaden Daniels even though jayen Daniels it did hurt for him not to throw and have another guy you know um make up I I guess the um the gap of it all all right um some of the guys um that I feel felt didn’t do so

Well um by doing the um combine you got the offensive lineman out of Penn State I’ve been looking at um fashanu is that how you pronounce his name yep yeah you fanu yeah he got twe he got an injury didn’t he that can defin man it doesn’t matter

The NFL is brutal at this time of the year that can go a long way and it’s just not good for him um so I I feel like that’s why I don’t I’m not a biggest fan um of the combine in that regards and for some guys sitting out

Now I’d probably say he’s like an ed Oliver right like super athletic he’s probably going to be pretty solid in pass rush but he’s not going to be like a big body he definitely wouldn’t be a good replacement for like Wilkins I mean I’m sure that he would be good for Miami

But uh y’all would just need to like sort of have an entire new identity especially within the interior of your defensive line but so I like him a lot too I tell you what I’m a tandre sweat guy for defensive tackle love that dude dude big dude like that one 360
