Hi guys J Smith here welcome to ask Channel and welcome to Ping i530 it takes over from the very popular and well performing i525 this is going to be the full review of this but I will also be doing a comparison between old Vu to see how much difference there is on the

See how well this does there’s lots of lots of tech in this we’re not going to go for everything in detail we’re just going to skip over what’s inside this very Tech packed head it is forged it has got a C300 miring steel face highly flexible face and that is welded to the

174 stainless steel body it’s got internal weight pads it’s got Arkin soles it’s got the lowest center of gravity that ping have made in a hollow bodied iron it’s got distance optimized Lofts AKA 1 and/ 12° stronger than the 525 so 1 and 1 12° they’re saying is

Enough to give it three yards again that’s speed related but again I will be doing my testing and not only my 90 mph speed whack it into a green but also be doing the testing at 70 mph 80 mph and 90 mph to see how this i530 works for a

Going to hit a really bad shot if I go in the water that’s really quite bad but 185 yards is normally quite a long way for 7 line but being 29 degre a degree and a half stronger than the iron that it replaces I’ve got no doubt it should

Get there now looks on this Top Line it’s a medium Top Line but when you put this down by the golf ball because the first part of the Top Line the front bit is actually sharp obviously where it goes into the face but the back bit is and quite aggressively rounded off to

The back of the golf club so it actually looks much much thinner in playing position than it does when you look at it quite close blade lengths are medium again historically ping generally don’t shy away from making big golf clubs but this is by no means big whatsoever and

Then when it comes to sole I would say it’s a medium sole as well it’s not massively thick but it’s not very small either but but it has got the trailing Edge and Leading Edge it’s got that kind of return chamford Edge and it’s quite rounded it’s quite a rounded sole but

Then bounce wise ping generally speaking to use a quite a high bounce number again that’s Turf interaction Etc and again if I can get the specifications I’ll whack them up on the screen so you can see down by the golf ball we have a certain amount of offset there but not

Much whatsoever and we do have a white lineup line which I do like although you can’t really see it with about 17 trillion Micromax Groves looking at you that is so Punchy that is wowers like wowzers C300 maraging steel wowers path6 me inside face 0.6 close 0 delivery

Which is good 2 mil Low 4 mil toe pretty decent strike 37.4 yards in the air and 49° of Center angle 188 carry right so this is 29° 1° stronger than my 6ine now my 6ine goes around about 178 yards carry not 188 yards carry now this also at pling

Length this is standard for a 79 again my six iron is half inch longer as a standard it jumps in half an inch I I can’t do that with my six okay my six IR is a blade not a hollow bodied very flexible faced yeah but wow that is

Mental 188 yards now I’m at my normal operating speed 91.4 mph I’ll be doing this test again at three different swing speeds but this just is mental feel wise yeah you can feel that it’s Hollow bodied it has got one heck of a Punchy W goall kind of thing it is quite

Addictive I definitely look at having these in the long irons that’s for sure that’s left hold on oh it’s good for a second there I thought it’s going to be far worse than actually was I could feel it being slightly to delivery was good just slightly toey h on the Green Path 0.4

From across and 0.8 closed we are 0 mil uh low high and 7 mil to yeah I could feel it was slightly toy 37 yards in the air and 49° of Center angle I could feel it that it was going to go left as soon

As I hit it 188 yards of carry yet again it is one heck of a Punchy Beast now do I like the look of a certain aspect of this golf club no and what that is I don’t like the height between the uh Sole and the toe the toe

Height it just looks really stubby it looks more like from the back especially looks more like a hybrid than it actually does a like a proper iron iron I like irons to have a bit more of a higher part of the toe some people like it some people don’t that’s the whole

Idea of subjective and looks and feel different people like different things I’m not a great fan of that whatsoever but I like every other part of it I do like that white lineup line I do I do like how ping do that and have done that

For quite some time this is a very very um addictive hit oh that’s really bad that’s really toy like properly really oh my word that’s so good from such a crap strike 18 mil yes 18 mil toe 1 1 across 0.8 open going back to my old ways I’ve

Been trying to work on my path morej um 34 yards in the air 47 and 1 half de Cent angle that is working very well considering that is nowhere near middle I think you’d agree that was terrible I’m in a bit of a transition at the

Moment should we say in on my swing and I’m trying to move path sometimes it works obviously sometimes it clearly doesn’t uh working really well considering I hit it there there that thing is rather impressive rather impressive as soon as I hit it I thought that’s going that’s not even reaching

The green it landed on it and it stopped near the pin 8ot away dear me ping wow would I have this I wouldn’t have this in a full set I’d probably have this in I’d either go blueprint s or i230 in my bag for Ping and I would definitely pop one of these

In in the five or six on the difficult thing was going to be the blending of Lofts especially if you’re going to go i230 blueprint s is the same Lofts they’re very traditional in Ping’s idea of what Lofts they are these ones are a little bit strong now you can retrospect

These okay Bend these weak a little bit but the problem is with these being a degree and a half stronger than the i525 that it replaces You could argue now it’s getting a little bit out of the Realms of having to blend seamlessly with the loss Etc so guys if you’re

Buying these make sure you go and get properly custom fit so you don’t end up with massive distance gap between golf clubs because you quite can easily do that if you don’t look at your LOF properly these are fairly strong lofted right let’s see if I can do a little bit

Better job than 18 mil toe definitely better than 18 mil toe my God this thing is just ridiculous holy smokes Batman it’s a long old way PA is zero face is baby closed that’s why it’s gone left 5 mil low on the face that’s it 30 6 yards in

The air 48° to Center angle 188 yards of Gary wow yep that’s a long way that’s 10 yards longer than my six side and this is one degree stronger than it that’s it and the shaft is half inch shorter because it’s a s a six 7 IR rather than

6ine this thing is mental this really is like a proper Launchpad oh that’s from Wilson can’t use that uh rocket ship yeah no one makes rocket ships today this face is ridiculous so the C300 maraging steel is crazy that’s a mish hit that would be interesting to see if it gets I could

Distinctly feel that that was not middle it still made it that was low toe yep path was good face was fractionally open 7 mil low 10 mil toe nearly 34 an inch off the middle well that was not middle at all um 35 yards in the air 40 9° a center angle

That is still stopping now have I lost some distance absolutely but then again having an open face and then also hitting it at 3/4 of an inch off the middle gross will have that effect now when I hit it properly off the I’m talking let’s do some heels and stuff

Like that when it comes to testing I’ll do my normal forgiveness testing while whack it all over the face to see how well it works see what the efficiency drops off from when you hit it in weird and wonderful spots and then also do my swing speed testing so my classic normal

At 90 but then also 80 and 70 mph to see what happened to The Descent angles and Peak Heights control distance carries all that lot when you start taking speed away right one last one let’s see if we can get it on the green before we go into doing all

That oh it’s going left it’s going to bite the green though which is going to be good guys anytime you hit a green from 185 yards it’s just a win absolutely PA 0.1 from the inside face is zero that’s to kind of deliver I want it’s not kind of strike that I want

Though uh 16 mil off 12 mil toe 4 mil low which is still no not middle um but it’s working well though 186 yards of carry 35 yards in the air 48 degrees to Center angle guys this just works the i530 just really works I am quite

Impressed by its performance it feel is so so it’s very addictive on how much it wants to punch really just fires off the middle or anywhere um especially the toe at the moment but yeah I’ll hit it off the heel as well to see how it works off

That but it’s just doing really well now okay let’s go hit it all over times all over the face heel as well cuz I’ve been doing the toe and the middles quite well um letse also do the different swing speed testing as well 70 M hour 80 M

Hour and also 90 mph and see how well the Ping i530 really gets on let’s go see how the i530 works when you hit it all over the face for the Forgiveness sessing that I normally do and also at three different swing speeds captur 70 80 and 20 miles now there’s also an

Interesting conclusion guys that I Will Wait obviously to the end of the video so make sure you stick around for that one cuz there is a interesting connect that I’m going to do right let’s go see how well it does again this is at 70 80

And 90 M hour I’ll see if I get all the information up on the screen um so you got the red is the 70 the yellow is the 80 and the blue is the 90 got all the ball speed information here first you can see 98 mph 112 M hour rounded 124

And a half um 24.1 there’s cut to the chase carry 138 y 163 and 182 now of course let’s go the 70 mph first 138 yards performs one of the best out of all the 70 mph testings that I have done when it comes to uh

Irons at 70 mph going 21 yards in the air and descending at 38.5 de very very healthy considering it’s only at 70.4 milph you can probably see by the little grade out bits this is the interesting thing when you’re talking about this kind of golf club when it’s lofted what

It is 29 degre it is a degree and a half stronger than that of the i525 and I will be doing a comparison like for like between the two uh in a little while so make sure you get that unsubscribe Etc you don’t miss that one but it’s doing

Pretty well would I say have a 6i on this one absolutely not because it’s even at 38 and 1 half degre that’s 30 something degrees I like something going in at 40° or more so it has a chance of stopping when it hits the green and this

Is at 38.5 okay this is an average and so some of the perfect shots are going to go over 40 but then also when you don’t hit it quite right they’re going to go and Skip through the green which is not ideal so you could even argue on

This one that really you should be stopping it at 8 iron or even not even having the I 530s at all if you’re going to be swinging down at 70 mph if you then move the swing speed up a little bit to 80 mph instantly changes Peak

Height is now 29 yards in the air and descent angle is near at 44° which is more than useful so I would say definitely for 79 I would say the cut off point for Speed would be to make it functional again if you’re going to deliver difference to this and all the

Information we’re going to show when it comes to the club head data in a sec then you have to make your own adjustments for that but generally I would say for an individual like this 72 73 mph would be the cut off of the 79 and then after that you’re going to have

To find something which is a little bit more helpful getting the golf ball up in the air namely hybrids but yes so it’s going 163 yards 29 yards in the air 44° Cent angle working very very well and of course yes if you’re going to go to 90

Mph 182 yards on average 37 yards in the air 48 de to Center angle I mean 182 yards uh on average again we’re hitting in the simulator you can see they’re going 188 up to when you hit them fairly well yeah that’s a long way for a 7 iron

To go let’s have a look at the club Ed data you got 70.4 80.2 and 90.1 So within very small amounts 10 mph difference between them all efficiencies you can see there 1.4 1.39 1.38 so very very small differences between them angle attacks within about a degree and

A bit and then again path and club path um and face the path changes very very slightly B again anyone who watches my channel and knows the problems that are or going on with my swing when it comes doing these slow swing speed tests know what I’m struggling with so yeah I won’t

Go into that but the Loft 24.4 24.1 and 24.5 within a very small amount point4 of a degree everything exactly the same so we can do like for like apples for apples testing and I have strike on there for you all to see let’s go have a

Look very quickly at the graphical side so you can see graphically exactly what we’ve just been talking about again you can see uh dispersion Rings Etc now the dispersion rings are much more me um front to back definitely helping with the Forgiveness of the golf club absolutely and we’ll go into the

Forgiveness now because again before we go into the conclusion where I’m going to like this to something which is coming out very very soon as in on the same day the i530 video will come in before the g730 video which yeah we’ll get to that in a sec right forgiveness

Let’s go see how well it works off of not the middle first we need to understand how it works from the middle we’ve got one here at 92.2 mph so fully warmed up we got 0 mil High 1 mil toes within reason middle was going 40 yards

In the air 49.3 de angle so very very good uh a carry of8 it’s just great I mean that’s the the i530 just works so so well it is just a absolute rocket ship that face and my only gripe so far really has to do with the toe height and also the feel

But that is really kind of it right let’s go see how well it goes off the heel 13 m heill 2 m low so a normal heel but still quite Healy 31 yards in the air 45° C Cent angle at slower speed 83.7 so again we will reference Peak

Heights and descent angles but guys unless we’re going to be doing the exact same speed Etc we’re going to be looking at the efficiency bang for your buck what how much ball speed do you got uh for your uh Club head speed dependent on obviously where you hit it on the face

Now we’ve already seen 1.38 within reason is absolute maxed out this is 15 mm gross off the middle and it’s 1.36 that is mighty impressive we Dro 0.02 from there generally speaking guys when it comes to heels golf clubs do not like being hit from there and this does

Really very very well let’s get very low on the face 11 mil low Zer Hill so just very very low 1.32 so it has lost 0.06 but we are are 11 mm low on any iron 11 mil low is is low it is have we lost a

Little bit of launch angle just a fraction spin rate still very very good it’s just the ball speed we’re going to lose from being 11 mil low that is actually quite close to being well not quite being a top but it’s still very very low and it’s working extremely well

Now okay look at the carry distance is coming down quite a lot from our Peak but we are in swing at 81 something miles hour so you can’t really pay much attention to it but it’s doing really really well from there 13 mil toe 2 mil

Low 1.37 is losing a grand total of 0.01 from 15 mm off the tow gross wow it is doing exceptionally exceptionally well and if you pop one slightly low and Tow 10 mil uh toe 7 mil low 1.35 again it’s like that’s nearly 3/4 of an inch and it’s just doing

Brilliantly and if you pop it nearly what 22 mm gross which is very very towy like properly towy um 1.33 so we lost a 0.05 from there it’s 20 it’s just really really good one of the most forgiving irons I have ever tested especially within its players distance category

Right so let’s do a conclusion very quickly because it’s an interesting conclusion conclusion and I’m also going to liken this to something which guys you haven’t senior it will be coming soon on my channel I’ve done this on the same day so again we are talking about

All the information from the same day the g730 Ping’s new iron then monster Goliath super game improvement super distance super forgiveness inspired iron right now um you if you want guys watch that video as well because I’m going to be likening some interesting uh strikes and the strikes are very very similar on

That video to this video I just want to show you and I want to say to Ping how they’ve they’ve done done two things they’ve shot themselves massively in the foot with the i530 and they’ve also in the i530 created something just brilliant just absolutely brilliant the i530 performance-wise and forgiveness

Wise they have basically just nobbled on their head uh the g730 and the g430 the i530 is that forgiving it Compares directly to their most forgiving supposedly g730 of which will be coming out well depending on when you’re watching this video it’s already out on my listing so

Yeah you kind of get the idea it does really really well it performs just as good as a g730 at the middle it performs just as good as a g730 out of different parts of the face again watch that video and see the the similar strikes you can

Make your own mind up and it’s a player distance IR which does mean it’s going to have slightly nicer uh lines okay if you’re someone who wants real estate if you want to look at nice thick top lines and nice massive soles and blade lengths

As long as Cuba and when it comes to having offset you’ve got plenty there then the g730 is going to be for you the i530 is there as players distance iron and it does a miraculous job of it the gripes I’ve got the only gripes that I’ve got let’s be honest is it’s

Superficial and it’s very subjective it’s not objective at all it’s the fact that I don’t like the height between the sole and the toe there’s not enough height to it it looks too hybrid like in shape especially from the back from the front it looks a little bit better but

Especially from the back it looks just too hybrid which I don’t really like when it comes to the sound it is very loud for a players’s distance there is definitely players distance L which sound nicer than the i530 and if ping would have put something else in there

To quieten the old girl down the chances are they may have affected the performance and then also the Forgiveness as well so on balance absolutely ping has done the right decision on that idea to make sure they have made the iron as best as they possibly can do and they have the i530

Is just a amazing tool to use it really is it will go in the hands of many many golfers if you compare this one directly to a g730 I’ve done the g730 video already again doing all the editing get that one up a little bit later on but
