Completed we’ll be on cool TV it also be on cool it’s 1057 FM uh but we’ll break everything down we’ll talk with some coaches we’ll make our picks and then of course Monday the 4th over in Morehead that’ll start the tournament girls will play Monday Tuesday boys Wednesday Thursday girls semi-finals Friday
Championship on Saturday then we take Sunday off back for the Monday on the 11th that’ll be the boys semi-finals boys championship on Tuesday girls sweet 16 begins on that Wednesday and then the boys sweet 16 the following Wednesday and again all the boys action you can

The field of eight at Morehead State all right last night in boys action Bath County came from behind down 11 they defeated Lewis County in vanburg 52 to 47 Boyd County ham green up County 96- 61 no trouble there for the Lions down in Lloyd not a ton of games last night
In the local area there’s I mean there a lot of games that play just not many around here mcgoffin County over East Ridge 8755 Pikeville defeats Paintsville 6953 and West Carter over Fairview 6154 nice job for Jeremy Webb and his crew uh they roll off a two- game winning streak
There they got a big win down in Frenchburg on Thursday night and then back it up last night with the win over Fairview at home over in the girls side of things boy County over R 6748 double checking here to see pipeful over painful they put a double header
Boy girl last night 7647 Raceland defeated prestonburg 5651 and that rounded things out on the girl side of things so we’ll take a look at all four districts see who’s playing whom the dates the times and everything I’ll make my picks of who I think will be representing each of the districts at

And and now here we are but um things get really crazy this time of year and it’s when you get into the postseason of course everybody has their picks and everybody has their opinions and we all have something else too you know everybody’s got one okay um it’s it’s
All depends on what happens on that 84 foot surface uh whenever the ball goes in the air and and you come down with it but it’s interesting to see how things will shake down and play out as we go through this thing but we’ll start first on the
Boys side of things this is the 61st District they uh they’ll play these games at Rowan County they’ll start on the 27th so that’ll be on Tuesday boys will play at 6 and 7:30 the one versus four Fleming County got the got the flip over ran County
Again they both were 5- one they split in the regular season they uh everything else was comparable across the board so then it comes down to a coin flip so Fleming County wins the coin flip they’re the one seed bath County’s the four and ran County will play miny County at
7:30 they’ll play their Championship Game on the 29th at 700 p.m. so I believe that’s that will be on Thursday night now now looking at Bath County and Fleming County in the matchups earlier in the year they lost a Fleming on the 31st of January 90 to
76 and then all the way back on December the 12th 7148 I still have Fleming County as my one seed now again Fleming County lost to Mason in an ugly loss last week that was uh without Seth Hickerson on the floor but I think with a full collection
Of teams that’s out of players that’s on that Fairview team or I’m sorry Fleming County team it’s not even close of what they’re going to do in the in the District Tournament now on the other side of things you got round County and miny County and again miny County they’ve got one of
The one of the better players in the region in the Ricker kid that kid’s pretty phenomenal he can get to the rim he can shoot it from anywhere he wants to and he’s liable to go out and drop 30 a night now I’ve seen some teams that have
Taken him away and there’s been some other players that have stepped up but the backside of it is they don’t go very deep down the bench even on the players that’s on the floor and that’s one of the bugaboos that hurts miny County now Rowan County again a Hiatus last year
But if I’m not mistaken I believe it was the first time Shan ther had missed the regional tournament uh of not making the the field last year they are they’re back uh they’re ready to go 20 and 10 they’re uh in in Region 13 and five now they’ve had some ugly losses along
The way as they’ve gone through this this little kind of uh es and flows they lost to Ashlin in overtime at home uh they fell to Morgan County 70 to 64 up in uh West Liberty they had the big win over Fleming County and then got beat by
Fleming County on the same time so uh they lost the Flemings 6151 in Flemingsburg beat them at um in Morehead 7961 their last two games out they’ve beat Elliot and Russell 6443 76 7363 um this is a a team that it’s kind of been a different looking team for
Shan ther this year you know they want to get the basketball and get it up and down the floor and that’s something that’s not characteristic of what you see but then you go and look at the ashin game and that game was in the 30s late in the fourth quarter so it’s it’s
No secret that obviously Shan ther can set it down make you guard somebody and and really try to burn off some clock if they need to take the air of the basketball but I think at the the the backs side of this is that the rematch
Between Fleming and R county is going to be a phenomenal matchup um do you give the Hat tip to Rowan because it’s at Rowan County and on the back side of things the the fact of they they beat up on Fleming pretty good that night 7961 I don’t know I think
Fleming’s playing some of the best basketball of anybody out there right now um and you know the haret kid Adam harget was just named the 16th region player of the year I think that shocked some people you know I think there were very several there was probably maybe three very
Worthy adversaries that was in that conversation but the hard kid’s pretty solid Lucas Jolly is the best point guard in the region um come at me if you want to that kid is phenomenal uh he’s about 5′ n he plays like he’s 6’4 and I
Mean he is when he gets downhill he’s a tough tough pill to swallow because he can get to the rim he’s so super strong and the way they play their two three Zone it’s like watching Syracuse with Jim baheim they they’re so wide they’re so long on the back line they can really
Spread it out the top the top of the Zone comes up they extend past the three-point line they can trap out of it they can go two thre Zone matchup out of it you know they’re going to they’re kind of they show a 221 Zone press but
It’s a very soft Zone just kind of making certain that you don’t get into transition real easily and then they fall back in that two3 and they get after you so I I think it’s no secrets here R and Fleming are going to be the two teams coming out of the 61st where
They shake down that’s still yet to be determined but I’ll make my picks on that in just a few on the 62nd district for the boys you’ve got East and West Carter what a what a showdown this one’s going to be first off you get the the two bid Rivals
That are going to play each other in the first round they will play all these games too by the way are at West car high school they will play on the 28th at 6:30 Elliot plays Morgan on the 27th at 6:30 Morgan’s your one east of two
West of three Elliot the four um Morgan County they lost the uh president kid and he was their leading scorer and all of a sudden Morgan County has looked like a juggernaut before Hoskins got hurt they had broken 80 points only one time this season that was a win over Pineville 93-
70 back on December 22nd since he’s been off the floor three of their last four games they’ve broken 80 points they beat Raceland 847 they beat Painesville 80 to 58 and they beat Powell County 8878 now I’m not saying anything about the Hoskins kid kids a phenomenal player
But the numbers aren’t lying I think that that sometimes when you get a player that that’s the dude okay everything runs through that guy sometimes it makes your offense a little stale now the backside of that is this shows you just how deep Morgan County truly is and REE Griffin is doing a
Phenomenal job with those guys up there but Eli and Gatlin Griffith on the floor they’re a pair of twins twins have a second sense they know where each other are I got a chance to see them at RAC them when they played up there I think
The two of them if I’m not mistaken Reese told me they finished with 17 assist between the two of them that win and the way they ran transition was phenomenal and it was really weird how they shifted up against Racin because the way they attacked was when
Raceland’s big man if Conor Sutton was on the floor they work the outside shots when he went to the bench they started attacking they got out in transition and you don’t just accidentally run into three games over the an 80 or more by accident they’ve got they’re not deep
You know that’s the big thing is they don’t have a lot of depth but you got the twins cam Adams uh that can shoot it Allan Justice is a really good guy in the post he beats and bangs around with everyone um and they can all shoot the back
Basketball so I like Morgan County I think they’re solid listen there’s a good chance I don’t think it’s a good chance I think it’s a guaranteed chance they’ve been in a five spot just about all season long in our rankings they beat ran County you’re going to see Morgan County be
Your number four when we do our final break I will be shocked if it’s not but we will put those out tomorrow uh tomorrow night is when they’ll fall as we put our final rankings out for the district tournaments East and West Carter man what a what a showdown East
Carter 16- 11 West Carter is 9 and 18 now East Carter has kind of been a little bit of a roller coaster of aide this year but since losing to Morgan County on February 2nd they lost 60 to 56 there Grayson they beat Bath County 6245 Fairview
8172 they grinded one out over Lewis County and vburg 4641 lost to Rowan County 5542 and then beat up on Russell last time out this was on Wednesday night 57 I’m sorry Tuesday night 57:42 and I’ve watched a lot of East Carter basketball this year and when those guys get things
Clicking they’re as good as they come I don’t think you will find a more physical post player anywhere in the region than Blake Hall he is just a warrior he sticks his nose in there he goes after the basketball he does all the intangibles that you want for
Somebody inside and he it doesn’t matter if he’s going to score a single point he going to go out there and try to get double digit rebounds every night that’s just the way he’s wired now the way that he plays in the post provides him several scoring
Opportunities and he does a really good job around the basket but when he’s going it doesn’t allow teams to Sag off to go try to help on Evan Goodman and Evan Goodman is probably one of the purest shooters that you’ll see in this area kid kid is in
Range from 22 feet in and he can shoot anywhere on the any side of the floor doesn’t matter he can attack the rim um he’s great in transition he’s fast as a deer the Scott twins really good job they handle the basketball very well Gavin ston Quinton Johnson um you know
Those are the guys that have kind of been in the mix and Co Brammer’s got him a little bit of depth you know he can probably go about seven deep now on the other side for Jeremy web and his comments you know they were in a terrible losing streak and some of those
Games of that they lost in that losing streak was just games just got away from them um nine games to be exact but then they go to Frenchburg and get a win over Min County and then come back home last night and knock off Fairview 6154 now are those good wins for most
Teams no but for going into a District Tournament against your rival on your home floor on a win or go home jerseys are getting taken up if you lose you like your opportunities there and I think they’ve got some really solid pieces they’ve shown some really good
Glimmers of hope you know the racling game they were right there there was one spot in that game that things went South and that allowed racing to pull away 5742 West Carter was right there and just could not get over the hump so can they find a way to keep things pushing

At the Marv they were down I think 14 points and then Russell rolls off some ridiculous run like a 23-2 run um Raceland needs this one this game will play at 7 o’clock of a crazy schedule this week down in Lloyd by the way the boys are going to play on Monday
And Wednesday at 7 p.m. the girls are going to play on Tuesday night then the girls Championship on Thursday boys championship on Friday go figure but either way down at Green up County we will be streaming these games these will be on cool TV so race and Russell Monday

Way he’s not related to me so this isn’t a a public service for a family member um he is doing a great job down there in Owensville uh but his team they they’ve got some pieces that are working they’ve got some youth they’ve got the uh the little girl she’s an eighth
Grader Kyra fared it’s Kenneth faried’s daughter and again if you don’t remember Kenneth fared he played basketball at Morhead State he was the leading rebounder for like the nation went on and played in the pros uh was I mean he was a really good basketball player and you could watch
His daughter she’s again like I said she’s an eighth grader still trying to figure some stuff out but man when she gets everything coming together she’s going to be a tough one I mean she’s going to be a true post player that we’ve not seen for for a long long time
Uh in in the 16th kind of like what you’ve seen develop out of Jasmine Jordan out of Boyd County you know Jasmine was really kind of rough around the edges when she started under Pete and Pete just took her and kept working her kept working her and now jasman goes
Out every night and she’s a double double and it shows her leadership that she’s put in her dedication her work ethic being able to be coached uh that was something that you know she had to really go through and watching Jasmine how she’s developed that’s what I look
When I see the fari girl at boy County got to put everything together but when she does and it comes together good luck trying to stop her now on the other side of things Fleming County uh Jacob henkins who works with us here at cool TV he’s had an opportunity to see
Bath and Fleming almost on back-to-back kns against a similar similar opponent of West Carter and when he talked to me after the games he said I still think Fleming’s the team to beat now ran County of course the first first year post Haven Ford uh they lost Destiny
Utterback to an ACL so Matt Stokes has had his hands full I mean they’ve just tried to grind through everything they possibly could and it’s kind of been a roller coaster of a ride they’ve been up and down uh and you know they kind of

So R county is it it’s it’s there they’re they’re they’re making some strides I just don’t think it happens this year now I hope I don’t take coach East Thunder on this one because I’m sure he’s probably going to use this one but that’s all right but you’re gonna
Hear it again because we looked this up together so I’m not taking claim this this was coachie and I both putting this together but the last time that Rowan County missed the district or missed the regional tournament 2015 the last time that Bath County made it to the regional tournament 2015 guess
Who they played each other so it it’s interesting to see how that’s going to play out um whenever these two teams get together and I want to double check something here because I’m saying 15 and now I’m double guessing myself no it was 15 um Bath County beat them 5645 in the
Opening round of the district February 24th fling County went on to win the the uh District Championship that year but we’ll see how that one all plays out uh miny County again they’ve got some pieces but I just don’t think they can stand tall to anything that uh Fleming
