Ask Dylan Cease Anything: Part 1!
https://www.youtube.com/NBCSportsChicago

All right with me it is friend of the podcast Dylan CE back on the podcast mhm Can’t Get Enough you can’t get enough uh listen you wanted to hear from White Sox fans and they came flooding my way with questions about everything and anything

Are you ready for this good I am and I also want to point out that you haven’t given me any of the questions in advance so everything I’m about to say is off the top of my head so but you wanted it that way I I said yeah I said

Did you want the questions ahead of time you said no you said nothing’s off limits whatever you want yep you get yep as long as you’re the one that gets in trouble not me if I say something that’s borderline okay I’ll make sure you don’t get in trouble and I don’t get in

Trouble okay it’s not worth it it’s not worth it yeah you’re probably right uh by the way I received around I don’t know 120 130 questions we have a mystery guest a mystery question from a big name a big big big name that you don’t know

About yes this happened do I know him or you know him everybody listening to this knows this person so that is coming up later there will be questions by the way you know the elephant in the room there will be questions about trades trade talk I mean you knew that was going to

Come right yeah yeah um but we’ll start with actually this is funny uh this is from the Twitter handle Nazis Nazis uh and it’s this very straightforward very good question something that a reporter like myself would ask okay what what has working with Brian Bannister been like and what

Changes SL tweaks has he made he’s the new director of pitching for the white socks yeah he’s uh he’s definitely got a lot of good information um when when Ethan was gone for a little bit he kind of he was kind of the guy spotting pens

And all that and uh you know he’s he’s famous for he’s well known for um you know some change up stuff some seam shift movement stuff and uh after one of my pens I said hey what do I have to do to you know develop one of these real

Change UPS where it’s like nasty moving away from the guy blah blah blah and uh he basically said you know some some guys are pronator some guys are inators and you do it you do well and I would I would just leave it at that um that’s

Michael copc booing oh hey why don’t you why don’t you come over here buddy you want to crash the podcast he did it for you he said okay it’s okay he just back to work good no I need some sun yeah so anyways it’s working with

Him’s been great I I haven’t got uh too far into the weeds with him but uh he’s definitely knowledgeable you’ve tried the change up right I mean that’s the thing and now he’s just basically saying don’t go there it’s it’s more of like what you do naturally well don’t don’t

Risk changing that to you know get something else that’s going to be your fourth pitch so uh I’m going to continue to just work on the slow boy and get that in the strike zone and it’s going to be hilarious and fun and and uh it’s

Going to be productive okay uh this is a a question it’s kind of the same thing but I’m going to give credit to both of them this is Damen colado how has it been working with two new catchers in Camp so far shy Sports BW do you think

Martin Maldonado will improve your game you were throwing to him today well I must say that’s definitely not the same question you’re right it isn’t but I’m lumping it together yeah that’s it’s uh in the same ballpark for sure uh it’s been great I mean both those guys are defense of juggernauts they’re

Experienced um Thor the Martin is awesome I mean that guy is he’s he’s I think he’s universally loved anywhere he’s he’s played um it’s really easy to see why Great Game caller um just a just an experienced guy that you you want on your side so I’m I’m excited to throw to

Both these guys when the sock signed Maldonado and fans looked at the metrics mhm and they said this is a terrible decision I was I I’ve been trying to persu not have to persuade people but give people some information that he’s much more than those metrics that they

Might be looking at can you explain as a major league pitcher why Maldonado is much better than what might be some wonky stats from last season season yeah I mean there’s certain things that win ball games and you can quantify a lot in today’s game but you know you can’t

Really quantify experience you can’t quantify I mean I’m sure you can quantify the the pitch calling aspect but you know if he’s caught whatever however many Hall of Fame pitchers and seen what works for them and and he’s caught the entire league for the last 15

Years so he’s seen every batter you know that guy is going to know all right I faced I faced so and so three years ago he was super aggressive on this let’s go to that and it’s little things like that you know and uh I mean there’s a reason

Why he still is universally respected like like he is so uh leadership matters um game calling defense matters and he’s going to give you all of that that’s something you don’t have to even think about so anything you get beyond that is just uh added added bonus it’s the game

Within the game ABS big part of the game absolutely meanwhile is that copek throwing the medicine ball no that’s uh I think that’s I can’t even tell how is it’s back to us yeah I can’t either is that Cory yeah it is okay yeah it is he

Could be your Closer by the way could be he’s nasty yeah he’s really nasty okay so now we get to some more interesting questions not that the first few were not interesting but chai Sox fan pan asks a facial hair question do you use any type of cream or

Product to make it grow fully or are you just all natural no I don’t use anything I I don’t know if it’s even really growing that fully right now I feel like I’m you can still see some SP it’s pretty full it’s pretty full how long is

That how long have you been going I think a little less than two months okay yeah um I need to get more into the the beard oil routine I think I’m getting to that length which is a great length to get to um I don’t really know how to

Trim them up to make them look with that nice V and that nice shape where your jawline just looks you know muscular and really handsome I got to learn how to do that uh I need to text Dallas and see what he does cuz he does that extremely

Well he should um but yeah I don’t use any any products currently okay now chai Dave wax asks Dylan do you think Chuck is jealous of your beard uh yeah deep down probably really should I ask Chuck what he thinks about that no no don’t ask

Chuck no don’t ask Chuck that was a question for me okay as I sit here and I just have to take it yeah just have to take it I can grow a beard pretty fast but I just don’t do it are you not allowed to no I could I

Could I’m just not going it’s going to be salt and peppery yes it will be but not not because of that rocket I should that’s maturity that’s handsome maybe I will I I’d like that you would like that yeah I think it’s time to change things

Up why not I know I’ve had like the same look 1985 yeah okay maybe I will I’ll think about it uh but this is not a podcast about me uh here we go have a tough time reading this guy’s name it’s uh I’ll just go with eomer was taken e

Domer was taken Oh e doer was taken I don’t even know what that means okay uh what was it like in that Clubhouse for the last two years like really this is him talking like really this not me adding like really why did you guys collapse so hard in 2022 and 23 that’s

His question you got to understand I will never talk about things that ought not to be talked about publicly and uh you know it’s um I would like to give more of an insight into maybe things of that nature but it’s just not really going to happen

Uh we we collapsed you know onfield performance wasn’t there um and uh yeah it’s it’s one of those things you either win or you don’t and we didn’t win well I’ll say that what I what I saw okay what I saw was a team that wasn’t all on board all season long

Every single game uh yeah it I’m not putting a blame on anybody I’m just saying from a team standpoint um yeah I mean we played a lot of sloppy baseball all around you know it wasn’t just defense it wasn’t just pitching it wasn’t just from the offensive side it really was like we

Really didn’t get a lot to click um and it’s just I mean it’s one of those things that’s tragic CU there were such high expectations and there really was a lot of Talent on that team we didn’t maximize um but I feel really excited about this group uh we’re all getting

Along really well in there we’re all excited and happy to be at the field we’re working hard we’re practicing our fundamentals uh we’re doing we’re doing all the right things so um you know I think from all from all the areas that you can control you’re going to see a

Much better team this year to piggy back off of that Cliff crumpton asks this is a good another good question from renia to larusa and Graal taking over last season how do you think the flux at the manager position in terms of development has affected the clubhouse over the last four or five

Years um I mean from my perspective I really don’t think that that is anywhere near the biggest thing affecting anything I mean I think you know the manager really has to make good good decisions with pitching changes and little things like that um but at the end of the day I

Really feel like it’s the players and the players taking responsibility ility and and uh figuring out what needs to be done cuz at the end of the day we’re the ones out on the field you know it’s a coach can’t go out and hit 330 for you

Unfortunately um but uh they they’ve all had their strengths and they’ve all every one of them has has wanted it and has you know they’re all unique they all have their different things but um I can’t I can’t lay any blame on on coaches or managers really okay this

Might be the toughest question you get it’s Joey Donuts nice name Joey Donuts ask Dylan if he can name the other notable Milton Georgia resident according to Wikipedia you know I think when I was with my buddy Paul we looked it up cuz uh he had looked he had a bunch of

People from his hometown let me think you need a hint cuz we have a bunch uh is it is it another athlete no okay it’s not an athlete okay um it’s a musician it’s a musician oh it’s the bass player from Leonard skinnard yes his house is for

Sale right now go go on Zillow and check it out yeah Gary rossington one of the founding members of L Leonard Skinner what a legend I need to meet that guy he passed away last year yeah yikes that’s we’ll make an edit there yikes no

Leave it leave it raw leave it raw okay yeah you didn’t know it just happened last year I didn’t know that he passed away yes if uh yeah that’s uh that’s tough yeah yeah do you like Leonard Skinner music absolutely free bird free Bird’s not anywhere near

My favorite balard of Curtis Low’s super underrated um deep Kut simple man’s great yes uh I mean they got all they don’t have really any bad songs they’re all bangers I didn’t know you were such a rock and roller I’m not really a crazy Rock and roller it it’s Laren skinnard

Was definitely played a lot in my household though yes yes okay I thought about not including this question but I thought for podcast purposes for entertainment purposes I would allow it okay anything to get views why not yeah Brendan star asks why are you so handsome that’s a great question I wish

This was on camera by the way how much time do we have again as long as you want to go as long as you want to go started December 28th 1995 um were you were a handsome baby back in the beginning must have been you must

Have been must have been I mean I can get you some pictures of me as as a child I think uh you’re a handsome baby yeah I think so I think it’s just carried all the way up you know in Middle School everyone that I look like

Taylor lner and he was kind of the ick guy then and then as I’ve gotten older I’ve gotten some some Henry Caville however he pronounce his last name Superman comps which is that’s a lot that’s a little aggressive I can’t I don’t know if I’m quite that level of

Handsome but uh you know what what a nice question thank you that was very that was very nice yeah brandan star thank you Brandon props to you yeah sir squids asks do we have a possible nickname for Garrick crochet this season I know uh I know last year a lot

Of people were calling a meat horse which is hilarious meat horse he’s the most massive uh let’s we got to make sure we got to look that up and make sure it’s not offensive in any way but okay okay uh he is just a massive it’s

Got to do it’s got to be something with his size you know or maybe you go something that’s like kind of counterintuitive like tiny cuz he’s so big but it wouldn’t be quite that have to be a little more creative but I’m sure it’ll come at some point I thought

Cyborg might be pretty good why cuz he looks like a a robot he looks like a robot a very large intimidating robot from the future I don’t know I I wouldn’t agree with that I mean okay there’s a lot of things he looks like I I can’t say a

Cyborg is one of them I I’ll try I’ll push it I’ll see but yeah you don’t have to push it no you don’t have to push it it’s okay that was what I thought okay so remember earlier in the podcast I did say there was a mystery question

From you did am I going to get to know the person that asked it well no no the yeah the person who asked the question yeah is this person yeah am I going to get to know who the person is uh yeah you know who he is are you going to tell

Me who he is I going to tell you who he is I’m about to tell you okay he’s a Hall of Fame Hall of Famer we have a Hall of Famer chiming in on the ask Dylan SE kind of Hall of Famer though Baseball Hall of Famer Cooper Town wow that’s big time

And his name is Jim Tomy Jim Tomy has a question for you what a legend man and it’s a hitting question for you even better yeah this is just you know what I I’m not realizing this this whole podcast is just so it’s going to inflate your ego you know too

Late because here we go he wants to know about your first Major League hits yeah this is right in your wheelhouse man what a day hold on a second hold on hold on the question here’s the question how hard this is Jim Tomy the Jim Tomy yeah

How hard did you work leading up to your first major league at bats did you get any pointers because it was 20121 was at Cincinnati and somehow someway your first three major league at bats your first game three for three yeah yeah it uh I would have I would have sat in that

Batting cage until I had blisters if they had let me because I personally think hitting’s fun and I hadn’t gotten to do it in a decade so uh I do remember being in there and and uh working front toss and all that with him and him going

Man your hands are like you got some bat speed like they’re pretty electric and uh and then I just I remember going to taking BP putting a bunch of balls out feeling good about it but then all the other pictures were were talking trash going you you better swing as soon as

The ball leaves his hand you’re not even going to see it blah blah blah and then I remember Carlos seeing me take some swings and he’s like all right man you got a pretty good swing you got a chance yeah it went from it the tune changed

Real quick uh and I got out there and I loaded early and and uh man it just happened one of those things baseball’s weird like that it’s uh it’s probably a sport of the most Miracles I would say oh I like that so who’d you get your

Hits off of Do You Remember yeah Jeff Hoffman was number one um I don’t remember the next two too well I wish I put the ball over the fence I don’t know how they didn’t go over okay but 19 balls that’s like 15 20 rows deep easy

Yeah oh easy you got a double yeah the Double’s not a home run though no and then your next two games you didn’t get a hit just for the record I got to be a reporter here objectively no against the Cubs I didn’t even practice because when

I was practicing swinging my fors and my ribs were getting sore excuse and I was like no I was like okay I I I do have have to back off a little bit and then uh yeah I remember Pittsburgh they they threw me some sliders that were nasty um

I almost got a hit at Pittsburgh I I hit one real hard down first base I mean it was I smoked it but it was right to them and they turned double play uh I put the ball and play a couple other times but I did have a couple strikeouts does it

Hurt you that you’ll probably never bat again because of the DH no doesn’t you’re not hurt no cuz you feel like you’ve got what’s your career batting average you don’t want to touch that there no point being hurt over it if I can’t if you can’t do anything about it

What’s the point you know okay that’s that’s the Zen master of I suppose I’ll find other things that I’ll find other things that give me that same feeling of excitement okay uh all right we got the Southside Boys by the way are you enjoying this yeah okay we got a lot

More to get to the Southside Boys what game or moment has been the most memorable during your time with the white socks gamer moment yeah oh that’s a tough one uh there were so many in 22 that were really special um the allar not the allstar the uh

Playoff start was really awesome even though I didn’t perform well there so that kind of tarnishes it a little bit for me um I mean one of the first ones that that comes to mind is that my start against the Orioles cuz that was the

Best my stuff’s ever been and I I diced them up that was last season no that was 22 yeah had 13 strikeouts uh almost no hitter but that’s another one where it’s kind of like almost in a tragic way but that was a great start um man the more the more if you

Gave me more time to think about it I could come up with 50 different ones but there’s been definitely a lot of special moments okay okay here’s Taylor asking how do you feel about all the trade speculation uh I feel like it was a win-win cuz I either get to stay

Somewhere I’m really comfortable and be with people that I enjoy or I go somewhere new and and start having a new opportunity and uh you know get to get to experience something fresh so I wasn’t worried about it in the slightest and I just want to perform so I was just

Focused on on that pretty much okay we’ve got a few questions on this okay okay Brian kaher would you rather these are now here’s some tough questions would you rather sign an extension with the white socks or be traded to your hometown Braves wow that is uh that’s

He’s going for it I mean you have to that’s it’s without giving me specifics of what the deal looks like it’s very hard to answer that what the what the extension looks like yeah what the extension looks like you know um because that that would play a huge factor and

If I would sign it so it’s a bad a super bad offer then it would be impossible to sign if it was a reasonable offer I’d have to think about it and if it was a good offer I’d have to sign it so I can’t answer that because of that not

Because I don’t want to I’m not afraid to answer it but I don’t DET for the record there’s been no conversations about an extension with you and the White Soxs there hasn’t okay Wyatt asks ask Dylan what or who he thinks Baltimore should give up for him I don’t

I don’t know any of that I mean I have you’re not coming the minor league system with the Orioles yeah show me their list just pick out a handful of them I guess a handful of them how about three Top 10 Prospects in their organization was that enough

I mean probably I guess uh man the way I feel right now with how it’s coming out I do think that if I keep that up the price is going to be high if it if it were if they did decide to do that

But if we come out and uh if we come out and really play play well and we take the league by surprise and win the central I also wouldn’t be surprised by that so um yeah just a lot of uh a lot of good good things happening yeah cuz it’s funny you had

This season last year where it didn’t go your way no I mean if if things go in the direction that you’re hoping yeah uh your trade value should be going way up right is that what you’re saying yeah I mean yeah if I pitch anywhere near my

Potential it’s uh I can be a game-changing pitcher and those are valuable in the league and um I feel really good right now it’s still early in Spring there’s still a ton of work to do and a lot of different factors but uh I feel very confident right now you’re

Always so levelheaded but I mean you’re human how much did the numbers the results of last year affect you not during I was pretty down in the dumps about it um during the season or after or both a little bit Yeah during I mean it can be it can be very challenging to

Create optimism and positivity when you’re not you just don’t have that feel and you’re working and you’re just not figuring it out but um at the end of the day it’s kind of like a good opport to learn how to do it so I think the more

That you fail and have success than fail than have success you kind of learn what processes get you to have success more often and um you know I’m I’m kind of at a point now where I just feel like I’m able to kind of get myself out of ruts

You know hopefully quicker than last year I mean I really I I really performed poly last year and uh I just think that I have a lot more experience and I think that I would uh I’d be able to kind of get out of it a little bit

Quicker I like to say more Tools in your toolbox yeah you could say that yeah you oh this is broken right now I have this to fix it and and some ways you didn’t have the experience to fix this specific problem exactly Okay Christian Bernardo the socks fans are bringing it good

They’re bringing it good do you believe in the stigma of Boris guys that’s your agent Scott Boris yeah it is being a hard negotiator for clubs and is Boris a nice guy uh I mean I think I think his track record proves that he does some of the

Best deals um did clubs like that no probably not but that’s that’s basically his job um and I I mean I’ve always I thoroughly enjoy Scott I I I like talking to him he’s interesting he communicates really well he’s very factual he doesn’t just pull things out

Of thin air you know he’s like if he’s got something to tell you he he’s got his opinion he’s got data and facts to prove it um it’s been I have I’ve really enjoyed working with him but yeah there’s there’s a lot of teams I mean it’s a business teams don’t don’t want

To spend and they want to get you know deals and whatnot but uh I I think it’s very hard to say that Scott it’s hard it’s hard to look at his track record and not go that he’s the greatest of all time he certainly made the most money

For his clients for sure you see like Jordan Montgomery and Blake Snell spring training and Chapman yeah I’m just talking more pitchers though okay to to be in you know spring starting and you don’t know where you’re playing would that be difficult for you if it led to

That if you were a free agent I mean I I just went through that with trades if you think about it I mean obviously there was more of a I’m going to either be going to Chicago or somewhere else but no it really wouldn’t be because especially at that age those

Guys they’ve been doing it for long enough you just got to get your body ready basically and and uh you know get you need to get reps and all that and you will get that and I wouldn’t think they would wait until the season starts

To sign uh I do think maybe that teams I guess think that the longer they hold out maybe they can get better deals and and whatnot and I’m not the most first in any of that I haven’t really even like I haven’t it’s not like I picked

Scott’s mind on what’s going on and all that and uh I I probably should because he’d have a lot of interesting facts for me but um you know I think it’s just part of the business and part of negotiation and uh really things aren’t always easy you know like if you’re

You’re trying to if you’re trying to go for the top for the you know you’re trying to climb the mountain you’re trying to do whatever that’s difficult it’s usually not really this straight path that’s just simple and effortless and this and that there’s there’s there’s a reason why there’s a reason

Why hard things are hard and uh getting getting the most the best deal for your client and protecting them and doing all that isn’t easy now when it’s free agency obviously your agent is going to be talking a lot with you about deals things like that expectations where you

Want to go when it’s trade talk yeah is he in communication with you mhm he is but how what are those conversations like because he’s not making the trades yeah it’s a lot of it’s just hearing kind of whatever speculations he’s heard or if he talks to Chris or somebody in

The front office and giving me the information that he got um and there really is yeah there’s only so much that he’s privy to and knows that other people don’t you know a lot of times I mean I guess with social media everyone kind of knows for the

Most part what’s going on so uh he he definitely is uh he’s a great communicator though really good communicator okay I don’t know why I’m putting this in here you know what I’m going to do it okay the shy Town Spidey he wants to know this or she wants to know this okay

Dylan what is your favorite characteristic about Chuck garine Chicago wants to know the whole city of Chicago according to Chai Town Spidey wants to know what your favorite characteristic is of Chuck garine favorite characteristic of Chuck gosh there’s so many let me let me just think

About this uh I I think uh what I like about Chuck is Chuck is very passionate um at the end of the day he’s not afraid to say something you know he he’s he doesn’t just play one side or the other you know if he he if he has

His opinion he expresses it even if that’s difficult because that’s journalism you know like especially in your position it’s like you’re either maybe going to upset players or you’re maybe going to upset the people that pay you so it’s it’s got to be difficult in that regard and I always feel like

Chuck’s pretty fair and he’s passionate not pretty fair he’s Fair he’s passionate uh and he’s he’s a good man hey thanks I appreciate it you’re welcome yeah I walk a tight rope I walk a tight rope uh don’t we all in different ways you’re right

You’re right we walk a tight robe so uh I I yes uh let’s uh let’s pause this you get a tissue to wipe your yeah wipe your tears away and also this plane is going by uh there’s all sorts of sound effects Roger boser has been driving by in his

Cart yep um he he drove by very it was funny he drove by really really slowly which is no it makes it worse cuz Roger that means that it takes longer for you to get by just fly by counts right yeah he meant well if he comes by again I’m

Just gonna stop and say Roger just haul ass yep okay um okay we have uh disc golf questions Chuck Jeffrey Jr asks this is like this is what you really want to talk about how are your two disc golf courses how are they doing are they finished and

If so what are the responses to them thanks the uh so the one in Florida is finished they’re both of them the one in Florida is still a little rough aesthetically because we had to kind of throw it all together to get it ready for the uh allar event that’s there and

The chess.com Invitational that’s coming up which is the first kind of major event for the Pro Tour this year it is awesome it looks great everybody who’s played it loves it um it is a super got a bunch of iconic holes uh and uh I I

Can’t wait to see it uh on YouTube this I think it’s yeah this upcoming week this week uh yeah the the chess.com Invitational we got chess.com sponsored it there’s going to be I can’t say who but there is going to be a celebrity guest is what I’m hearing that’s going

To go there and uh that’s all I can say about it but uh is this celebrity guest a celebrity in the dis golf world or it’s in some kind of celebrity actor may there’s a connection I can’t go into too many details but it is very cool I wish

I could be there to to meet him but uh yeah the course is fantastic it’s it’s so to tell the history about it it uh it basically had only been open for four weeks out of the year um and they had a temporary everything temporary was there and it would sell out tournaments

Everybody loved it and um yeah Paul called me and said hey they’re about to sell this land for development I I think we can make this into a a pay-to-play course and make Alabama no this one Florida Florida Florida Brooksville Florida yeah uh so we did that what’s

The name of it Olympus M yeah we did that my original idea for it was it originally it was called Grand Canyon or throw down the mountain that was a tournament and I said if we buy this we need to like really Rebrand and kind of

Make it our own mhm uh and I want to call it vvus but then they’re like oh no you don’t even know how to spell that nobody knows what that is blah blah blah so like all right we can go with Olympus um but the course is so cool it’s an Old

Quarry so it’s you know I like that Olympus for an Old Quarry too it’s yeah the mountain we’re we want to stay with the mountain theme yeah uh and it’s got a ton of elevation changes um it’s just a really really beautiful land bunch of Live Oaks with Spanish moss and it’s

Just great you you got to if you play Disco you got to go play it okay couple more disc golf Cactus Rock in tuso Alabama is also looking great it’s not quite ready um but that is going to be one of the most iconic horses around

Without a doubt I mean that thing is it’s crazy it is a uh we we took raw land in the wilderness and over the course of a year plus we are shaping that into a super dope disc golf course and when’s that going to open within the

Next couple months I think it’ll be the same thing where it might be a little raw first but you know we’ll we’ll get it we’ll get it going soon Matt asks if the white socks trade you will you decide to retire and become a professional disc

Golfer oh I can’t I’m so close to for so many reasons I can’t but the thought of it is kind of cool I guess yeah you have this way down the road yeah maybe down the road but by then my body is probably going to be hurt and I’m not going to

Want to do it um great question though but no okay uh this is actually a question from my colleague my co-host Ryan McGuffy oh yeah who do you think would be a better disc golf player Chuck garine or Ryan McGuffy oh it’s a tough question are you

Decent at golf yes much better than Guff much better man that’s a tough one no it’s not a tough one it’s it’s kind of tough why is it tough he’s got a good build you know he looks relatively athletic I don’t no you do too but

It’s tough I don’t know if I can even really pick a good one yes you come on my gut instinct says Ryan and I’m sorry to do this to you why would you do that to me I know I’m sorry I just wanted to be truthful truthful we’ll get you out

I’ll tell you what let’s get the Guaranteed Rate and we’ll have both you guys out there and we’ll see we’ll see we have a little competition and if you are better I will I will get on my knees and I’ll apologize you know what I’m going to do

Starting tomorrow practice I’m going to practice well I hope he hears this and I hope he starts practicing yeah yeah I’m going to beat the crap out of Guff and you’re going to kneel down and apologize to me I I’ll kiss your feet like you’re my

Sire I like it all right this is in the future uh couple more questions and then we’re going to wrap up part one okay okay uh GG this be game yeah this could be a long answer what’s your favorite piece at the Art Institute and why damn what a great

Question what a great question let me think about that I mean there are so many Chicago’s got the coolest Art Museum around and I haven’t got to spend that much in uh MoMA New York uh I know they’ve got a lot of great pieces but I mean some of the

Stuff even just the building itself is modern yeah everything about it is cool um let me think who is my favorite there there’s this one and it’s a uh it’s a picture of Jesus and he’s like I want to say they’re in like a they’re in a house for like a carpenter

Shop and uh the lighting the way they did the lighting and all that I’m not explaining well I don’t know the name of the piece but it is so cool um yeah some of the modern stuff I mean they got they got uh uh what’s that Joanne Joan Myro mro really cool really

Cool work um how often do you get there I try to go there like almost not I go there there a bunch of off days for sure okay um and why do you do it why do you feel like you just I just feel super rejuvenated when I go there there

Something very therapeutic about artwork um and it’s just inspiring to me they got chagal there that are super super cool I just leave there and it’s like uh I don’t know man it just does something it’s uh really special it’s good for your head space it it puts you in a

Whole different frame of mind absolutely it’s almost like you walk in you don’t know what you’re G to get well it’s hard to believe that it’s hard to believe that human beings can create something like that you know and it’s it’s uh just some of that stuff there is like it’s

Just special it really is and it’s like you know you look at some of these art prices and it’s hundreds of millions of dollars and then you go there and you’re like man I get it I I love the historical fact about it too it’s like you’re telling me that was painted in

1620 they were stabbing each other with Spears all day and they didn’t have anything electricity electricity and they you know it’s like just it’s just such a cool way to to see the evolution of our of cultures and history and human genius and and uh some very few special human beings were able

To make themselves Legends by what they were able to do with their art and I think that’s really cool I’m envious of of that time in this respect now granted I like the medicine of today Transportation but modern amenities yes yes but back then there was no

Television there was no phone no like this is how you entertained yourself and the amount of time and effort it took to make this like their their brains were focused on this and for yeah think about how difficult survival was and their focus was hundreds of hours on these

Beautiful paintings or sculptures you know it’s uh it truly is it’s just nice that there was the thought of going Beyond just the survival process and just beyond the wars and the famines and the diseases and the the pain and the sadness and to create something beautiful out of all that is just

Special yeah I love it last question from Melissa Sage Bowen boach she’s also known as socks mom 72 if you weren’t a professional baseball player what would be your occupation I’d like to think entrepreneur very successful entrepreneur businessman well you already are well you’re not successful until you turn a profit or

You make money and I can’t I’ve invested but I can’t say I’ve made money so you’re entrepreneur but not a successful I’m a startup entrepreneur yes and I have so many more ideas that I want to pursue as I get more capital and uh I just hope that I continue to find people

That are really competent skilled and passionate and I like I like building these teams and these people that you know want to do something cool and something unique I knew you had entered a new phase in your life when we were talking at the start of camp and you said Roi a basic

I know but I’ve you don’t hear Too Many baseball players say h my Roi my return on investment I suppose I uh I just got to find things to keep my mind busy and uh I really enjoy creating and um I just yeah the the what’s great about it is

The more success I have with baseball the more opportunities outside of it are opened up like that and that’s that’s really exciting to me in the day the main focus is always has to be baseball you know like that to me everything else is kind of just therapeutic outlet and

Like a something to just put my mind into that it’s almost like iron sharpens iron where yeah I can sit and play video games all day or do things that are kind of numbing or I can stimulate myself and try to grow in these different areas and

Hopefully it all kind of feeds into each other I like it I loved this this was great yeah it was so you want to tape a part two for the people okay let’s do it all right well this has this is a wrap part one asking Dylan CE anything I

  1. Dylan… How does it feel carrying around this massive level of mediocrity in regards to your franchise the Chicago White Sox? 🎙️

  2. What happened to the camera(s)? It's so much better to see reactions and even background scenery.
