The top 3 things the Bears need to address this offseason

Kenneth Davis and Alex Shapiro break down the three most important roster holes the Bears need to address this offseason. The guys explain the importance of finding a quality center with Cody Whitehair gone and Lucas Patrick not expected to return (1:10). Later, they discuss how they think the Bears should address the wide receiver position (11:59), and where they rank finding an edge rusher opposite Montez Sweat (18:00). Welcome to the under Center podcast presented by St Xavier University we got a lot to get into me and Alex Shapiro our Bears beat reporter follow him at Alex Shapiro NBCS we are broadcasting live for the NBC podcast Studios Tony and CLA are running the show we got to

Get into our Bear’s essential needs when we’re talking about free agency and of course the upcoming NFL draft that’s what we’re going to focus on we may not just go player by player we may mention player but more like the type and really the position and why it’s dire that they

Kind of make these moves going into next season if they want to improve and become a team on the upand coming and not just a rebuilding team Alex how you doing today I am doing wonderfully enjoyed a little extended weekend away uh went to the Florida Keys which was

Wonderful so I’m feeling refreshed I’m feeling recharged by the sun I’m ready to go my dad spent part of his life growing up in a keys he said used to leave high school or school and run straight into ocean anyway you came here for be stuff um let’s get into your

Number one all right so as we’re talking about positional needs um and perhaps how you think they should go about solving that positional need and how should they do it if they have to do it in a multiple ways sure so for me the number one priority that the Bears got

To get figured out is center now I’m not saying that they should spend the number one overall pick or the number nine overall pick or even a first- round pick on a center at all but you got to figure out that Center position to Anor the offensive line because whether the Bears

Decide to keep Justin Fields whether they decide to move forward with Caleb Williams or Drake May whether they decide to add wide receivers none of it matters if you’re getting pressure from the middle of that line if you’re getting pressure immediately and can’t get the ball out can’t let plays develop

If you can’t set up a run game with that with that anchor from the middle of the line so you got to figure out who your Center is I do not expect Lucas Patrick to be back his contract is expiring got a list of some free agents here that are

Just kind of interesting uh Coleman Shelton from the Rams you know he’s a guy who has proved himself in multiple run schemes and we know that Shane Waldren has those multiple run schemes coming from that same Shawn McVey tree right uh Conor Williams the guy from the Dolphins playing really well towards ACL

So you got to figure out the Medicals Evan Brown just because he comes from the Seahawks he is familiar with Shane Waldren but this could be a position that the Bears figure out in the draft but for me again I’m not saying you spend a first round pick I’m not saying

You spend crazy free agency money but you got to figure out Center because if you don’t figure out Center the other pieces it’ll be it’ll be tougher to have that success I’m with you um I think you do it toold if we’re really being honest um I go with the person of course

Shck our Bears Insider isn’t here shck was the first person for me to really put an emphasis on Evan Brown from the Seattle Seahawks you’re talking about bringing over saying Waldren Center um really took that position the last couple of years under uh Gino Smith playing behind him um I think it makes

Sense and that’s not pro football has him at a seventh franked Center so we’re not talking about a a quote unquote World beater but you’re setting up the position with someone that knows what the offensive coordinator wants to do so you’re already and it’s the same thing

With what you can think of what Luke gety was trying to do with Lucas Patrick right as far as bringing somebody in with some familiarity and then be able to see if they can kind of teach some of the scheme or some of the aspects of the scheme to whoever’s playing quarterback

And let alone there’s a chance you may have a rookie quarterback so do you want to have a rookie quarterback and a rookie Center starting from the beginning of the year now that you could have I mean Jackson Powers I don’t think the Bears are going to go first round

Center right and and at that and again uh we make jokes about you know John Gruden and Mike mayak overdrafting when they were running uh the the the Raiders or whatever Alex lewood yes yeah taking players 10 slots above where a lot of people may have had them going in the

Draft and I know some people would say if that’s who your player is go after that player so you’re talking about usually if we’re saying the Bears aren’t going to use the first pick and people say we’ll trade the pick even let’s just say if the Bears would move off of the

First pick you would think they would still move off they have the ninth pick they would be somewhere between one and eight you would probably think they were moving that direction I think that still may be high even for the best center in the draft to take the best center in the

Draft sure no absolutely but if if you do trade down if you move off the number nine pick that’s where you know exactly so so they also have that number nine pick and if they decide let’s say Malik neighbors let’s say uh romad dun Marvin Harrison’s obviously g off the board

Maybe Brock Bowers is off the board they feel great about brexton Jones at left tackle they’re not looking at a Joe alt they’re not really looking at an ol fashanu right they want to trade down get some value recoup some picks now that’s where we’re talking about maybe

Taking a center in the back end of the first round or if they trade Justin Fields as many people expect them to do and now they’re recouping day two picks whether it’s in the second round whether it’s in the third round that’s where we could be looking at a center coming off

The board for the Bears it’s all right you got Jackson P Johnson out out of Oregon is probably hands down the favorite yes a guy that I saw facing I believe it was the fighting a line Big 10 team this year Zack Fraser of West Virginia was dominant yeah and he’s been

Moving up draft boards Zack Fraser athletic Zack Fraser can play another gentleman that we’ve heard a lot of being mentioned perhaps the Bears going just from different shows we’ve been on in chats shedric V prawn from Georgia so for me I would probably go with bringing

In a veteran Center because this is the thing I think that we’re we’re neglecting too and uh also someone that I’ve mentioned before uh puny um at the Senior Bowl when Jackson par Jackson parles Johnson went down puny moved over and from guard and played some Center two you’re going to need versatility

You’re going to need depth you just said you don’t see Lucas Patrick coming back here right right regardless of how well they played or didn’t play and I’m referring to the interior of the line so I’m talking about Lucas Patrick and the now cut Cody whiteair former guard

Center of the Bears those are two offensive line positions you have to fill back up 100% one of the things that people got mad with us last year prior to the season commencing was us going around telling everybody there wasn’t enough depth on offensive line correct nobody was saying that you should have

World be sitting on your bench we were just saying active bodies that can take care because you know these lineman are going to go down we’ve always been a pro teev Jenkins podcast but in that we’re honest podcast and at this point you can somewhat expect teevin Jenkins to miss

Several games during the season the Bears had to trade away a sixth round pick to bring in Dani that’s that’s where the depth was they had to trade away a pick to bring in a guy right so and that’s that’s even before we talk about swing tackle as we continue to go

Through where we think there’s needs for the Bears moving forward but offensive line I think it’s particularly where we’re looking at last year the last couple of years Ryan POS has went heavy with drafting on the defensive side of the ball now particularly because you

Don’t have to set it up where I have to get that number one receiver and hope that he translates from college early and it h it’s happened a lot more with the receivers the last five years compared to 10 and 15 years ago where it

Was a lot more hit and miss but now you have a lot more receivers that can come in and play better right away but you but still even when you we talked about last week we were talking about CHR Watson right right but still Christian Watson wasn’t what Aaron Rogers needed

In that last year in Green Bay because he was so young and he wasn’t ready I’m no I wanted Christian Watson right but I wanted him here and it’s not the same expectations when you had Aaron Rogers on a year when they’re trying to contend for a Super Bowl when their wide

Receiver room is depleted and he’s not patient with these young receivers I’m saying all this to get back to now that you’ve got you traded and brought in DJ Moore you don’t have to gamble on finding a number one receiver because you may miss out on that and you can

Focus on the trenches on offense and make sure your offense is stable for whoever is playing Center and whoever’s at those skill positions and that’s where even if you’re getting a center in the draft and you’re getting a center in free agency one of them if not kind of

Both but primarily one of them probably needs to be able to do more than just play center because you have to be able to have guys that can move around because you know guys are going to get nicked up absolutely and as you said this could be a spot where the Bears do

Double down they could add a veteran in free agency and draft a new center you know like they lost think about they lost that they lost a guy that can play both positions actually quote unquote both guys were supposed to be able to play both positions but Lucas Patrick

Was terrible at guard yeah that guard experiment did not work Lucas Patrick it just I mean it just didn’t work yeah so but so you you actually need what you had you need guys that are versatile one guy primarily definitely to be your Center but you need if both guys to have

The flexibility to perhaps play guard because you never know when the center’s going to go down you never know when the guard’s going you never know when the tackle somebody might to pop out and that’s a difference primar when we talk about physical build and so on and so

Forth but Center is a dire position here and also just to set up the blocking schemes properly yeah the exch how many exchange issues and we can sit here and we always know there are exchange issues with Cody white here there was some with Lucas Patrick too all right there was a

Lot of lows high like Justin Fields was doing a lot of what Patrick Mahomes was doing in the playoffs in the Super Bowl all right where it’s it’s high it’s low like I’m a short stop or I’m a second base like it’s coming in hot you know

And so you you need more consistency because you’re starting to play down already particularly when you’re not an offensive Juggernaut to start with I feel so with Center your number one as well yeah Center’s my definitely my number one I I kind of wanted to lean towards Edge rusher U just to bring

Someone in on the on the um the defensive line but when you already have montz sweat creating so much Havoc uhhuh I I think I could put Center slightly above also we’re talking about the interior of the line line and of course the fastest way to get to anything is a

Direct line the interior of the line has been compromised and that starts with Center so that’s why because it’s both I think trenches are still the essential sure but I look at you got from right now looking at what Monte sweat brought here you have someone who I look it

Maybe be in a situation where he played with so many plus players with the commanders when you’re talking about the the tackles talking about Allen you’re talking about Chas that it didn’t seem that he was as dominant as what he seen here when you don’t have those names with him it’s

Kind of surprising that he was better he’s better right when he’s not playing next to other stars right I mean a lot of people would have expected and of course it was a sexier player um as far as just hype coming out of the draft what he did his rookie year that chase

Young would have been the one but clearly Montes sweat was the one youth is on Chase young side but if you look at production outside of the super Bowl where where has Chase young really been and of course Chase young was going to do what he had to do in the Super Bowl

Cuz he wants to get paid like it’s the biggest stage in the world you better go out there and try to make some noise he was good he was good in the super he was good in the Super Bowl but still looking at how dominant montz sweat is it’s like

Okay they don’t have a dominant tackle even if I think even if you’re looking at you can shift things on the offensive line to where you can impact the offensive line more compared to you can move a defensive lineman around right you know what I’m saying like not going

To move your left tackle to to Right Guard or St like that you know what I’m saying so you can cover up more with a dominant defensive linean than you can with just one extremely good offensive lineman and I don’t think they have an extremely I think they have some guys

That are tempting I think of course we mentioned Kev Jenkins think Darnell right pedigree we’ll see is Braxton Jones takes another year but still you you those are three pieces that you can coun and count on you need that guy smack dab in the middle to be to be an

Anchor for this offensive line I feel you I feel you all right are we ready for number two yep all right so my second position of need I’m sticking with offense I’m going wide receiver and I know we just got done saying DJ Moore he’s this great wide receiver one you

Don’t got to worry about finding a wide receiver one because he’s so good near the line of scrimmage he’s so good in the middle of the field he’s so good deep balls he’s so good at everything DJ Moore is really the complete package but all great NFL offensives have more than

One dude mhm and you need that second dude for whatever reason Darnell money just has not been able to figure it out since his 10,00 yard season what was that 2021 two seasons ago yes yeah so 2021 is that his fault though I’m with you I’m just asking a question I’m not

Necessar I’m not necessarily saying that’s his fault you know certainly two seasons ago 2022 uh I wouldn’t say it’s his fault because when the Bears decide hey you’re our wide receiver one I don’t think that was fair I I don’t think you’re setting up Darnell Mooney to succeed great point

In that in that scenario but last year everything was kind of lined up for him to have a great year you know you bring in DJ Moore you bring in Chase Claypool that’s a whole separate story that chase Claypool didn’t work out but you put

Less on his plate and you had other guys around you know Cole KT had taken another step so he didn’t need to be the focal point of the offense but things just didn’t click with him and Justin Fields they didn’t seem to be on the

Right page um I’m not putting it all on Darnell Mooney but but darn Mooney also did not take advantage of the opportunity that’s Justin some of that’s Justin right I I’m saying there’s a lot of blame but some of it is just it just didn’t work out so whether or not you

Retain Darnell Mooney I still think you need to add a second wide receiver and I think adding a guy with first round Talent is really important because as we know now over the past many seasons these high highend wide receivers that come out of the draft that is the best

Best way to improve your pass catching core these guys don’t come around a lot in free agency and if you want to trade for one of them you’re going to have to Shell out a whole lot to bring a guy into your team so the best way to add a

A big time playmaker in my opinion is with the draft with a valuable valuable draft pick and again whether it’s Roma dun whether it’s Keon Coleman whether it’s Troy Franklin whatever what have you I think they got to add a wide receiver too and I’m I’m going to break

It down a little bit further I think you need to add a big bodied receiver a big bodyi receiver because catch radius guy catch radius guy because DJ Moore so great but he’s 5’11 he kind of slight 6 feet you see him a lot of times is that

Six feet 5’11 okay maybe six feet maybe six feet with cleat on you know um but to add a a bigger Target a guy that can box somebody out right you know that’s now we’re now we’re talking complimentary pieces now we’re talking about DJ exactly Brock Bowers hey he

Said wide receiver I said wide receiver but but it’s similar as Tony Gil just said Tony Gil back in the studio Brock Bowers is like back in the studio like a complimentary piece so I’m looking at at Big bodied wide receivers that at a little that catch radius contested catch

Ability under Center podcast we’re sitting here discussing the players or really the positions that we think are needs for the Bears moving forward in free agency in the draft Alex just said wide receivers the one of his second one your second that’s my number two um I

Think it would be number two for me um get let me finish with what you just said okay all right um one I think in the past where if you go through the era where the best receivers were um Terell Owens Randy Moss Steve Smith Senior that those players neither none of those

Players have Super Bowls I’m not saying it as a knock because too and Randy should have won Super Bowls basically um but still the reason I bring it up to go with what you’re saying there’s been a difference and I I mentioned this earlier where these receivers it used to

Take receivers years I remember when the 49ers traded up to get JJ Stokes and the next year they brought later in the draft they brought in Terell Owens and basically JJ Stokes was a bust he was viewed as the person that was supposed to replace Jerry Rice but Terell Owens

Became that person and it was a lot more hit and miss than what it is now now when you look at whoever comes out of Ohio State and LSU and Alabama they usually pretty much if they may not be they may not they may not be the ceiling of what you

But the floor is pretty high you know what I’m saying and and you see it now because of these rookie windows that these guys are ending up in the Super Bowl you look at Jamar Chase and Joe burrow like you see where Justin Jefferson yeah Wadd and I know they

Haven’t gotten to a Super Bowl C lamb like these are like new kids coming in are coming they’re coming so I agree with you on that part where you should take advantage in the first two rounds and that’s of course if they get a second round pick depending on what

Happens with Justin or depending on if they make another move we don’t always have to make that tangent on Justin has to go for them to get a second round pick but it seems likely that’s why we’re saying it seems like likely that that’s going to take place so that

They’ll recruit a second round pick I I love Roman duner um you got and again this is more of a 50-50 guy and and Keon Coleman um you got some people are big on the route running the lab McCoy coming out of Georgia um I I think you

Have to take advantage in the first two days of and get that guy to pair with DJ you know I’m a big I’m catch radius guy all the way and that the good thing about DJ is he can play in aad of ways where he can out he can play larger than

His size yes you know what I’m saying but in the fact it’s a plus that he can be quote unquote a regular siiz receiver and play bigger you still need a guy to be the Red Zone Target we’ve hoped that that was going to be uh Cole kit that’s

Not to take away from Cole but you need more than one anyway but it hasn’t been Co KET as often as you would desire when you’re talking about Red Zone targets so I’m I’m with you on that for me though I’m gonna go with Edge rusher here okay

Um because I feel as if and also I think they should bring back Darnell Mooney I meant to say that too okay because if you look at that Rob it I don’t know what they’re going to do with veis Jones you may just on return game be like

Let’s hold on to ve and just even find out if he can do return and we can get value out of that well he’s good on kick return you already know he’s holding on to the ball some he he got over some of the problems that he had earlier on yeah

You know what I’m saying so but I’m with I’m with maintaining it but I don’t think you can go into this year with thinking that Scott and veis can be impact every down guys right and you it’s better to Hope on depending on what the contract is that you can get Mooney

To be closer to what he was as the third receiver it also probably maybe a little second and third as that rookie ascends hopefully through the year and not put too much on that rookie but at least the rookie already has DJ Moore to take a

Lot off of his plate now for me I would go with Edge rusher um probably and I know Josh has really been big on them going Edge rusher through free agency which is like oh okay like he’s been big on swing for defenses for uh denal

Hunter um uh I forgot um he he’s been uh with uh AJ uh what’s the kid’s name out of uh AJ espena thank you espan I gonna kill it from Buffalo you also think about that you bringing in their their defensive line coach in Washington y so

That adds benefit I’ll say this two guys that I would say these are just th these are guys I want say throwaways but value I think you can get while bringing in for instance your guy from UCLA L to lowu L to lowu if latu sorry L to lotu

Oh we’re gonna butcher that forever Adisa chop from uh from uh pen chop Robinson yeah but I’m just naming there’s there’s value in Edge rusher now people may be like you know you look at chop do you think Chop’s more of a three four down line and I think he can

Perhaps do both but the thing is what I’m trying to say is you may not have to go unless you go with latte at number at number nine am I did I Butch latte we we turned him into a coffee now what’s his name again I believe it is

Leu Leu latu I apologize Leu if they go with Leu you know he’s going to go high in the draft but if he comes here are we going to nickname him coffee for that moment I kind of like that but no so I want to name these

Names real quick as far as to add depth to the defensive line and the rotation yeah Javan Clowny the year had in Baltimore also someone that’s been here before um Leonard Floyd again homecoming for Leonard Floyd again I’m not asking him to be a world beater that we hoped

In in drafting him I’m just asking you to guy be a guy that can maybe get seven pressure seven sacks maybe uh 10 to 12 pressures throughout the but on a rotation but I think if you add a veteran presence with young bodies to go along with the the the defensive tackles

You brought in last year I think that rotation will be sweet the linebackers are set and then of course we’ll get to another position later on your third position who you got what do you got that need we are lined up I’m right there with you edge rusher and again I

Think it is an opportunity for them to add in free agency denil Hunter there’s been a ton of smoke uh he’s wrecked the Bears recently so Ryan PS has seen up close and personal what uh denil Hunter can do and I mean all the guy does is

Produce he’s a little bit older but it’s not like he’s getting any worse I think he had a career high 16 and a half sacks last year you know what denal Hunter brings to the table I’m going to throw another former Bears killer in there too

How about zidus Smith uh so there are free agent options uh there are free agent options that aren’t going to be free agent options I know people like to talk about Brian Burns I don’t think Brian Burns is actually going to hit the market you know a lot of these guys

Might not hit the market but whether it is free agency whether it is in the draft I’ll throw another name out there Dallas Turner I think could be a great fit for the Chicago Bears at some point um you want that guy to pair with Mont sweat because

Then Demarcus Walker can go into a rotational role where he was really good he was really good as that number three guy and then also in the NASCAR package when they move him into three Tech um that really worked and here’s the reason why I think defensive Edge I’ll throw

Three Tech in there as well and I want to I got a little feedback I want to share what is threek we haven’t explained this we explained it a lot when Eber flu first joined Hey listen I got people who like hey what is a three Tech anyways when Flo first joined we

Talked about a lot but in case you’re catching up three Tech that is the guy who lines up in the B Gap outside the guard’s shoulder he lines up right outside the guard’s shoulder his job is basically just getting the Back Field he’s a one gapper right he’s not a two

Gapper like the nose tackle where you got to oh he’s not trying to take on any Blocks he’s not taking on any blocks his job is just get in the back field and and mess stuff up whether that’s in the Run game or the quarterback and that’s

Why we about thech being so important is he’s that back field disruptor so shout out to soon shout out Les so three Tech is important I think defensive end is also important but if you got another guy to pinch those edges with montz sweat that makes things easier for the

Guys in the middle to get home right because it pushes the quarterback up and now all of a sudden your defensive tackle can get home easier obviously they all work together in concert but we’re talking about free agent I think Justin Jones I don’t know if Justin

Jones comes back I think they should resign Justin Jones but right there’s maybe a better opportunity of Justin Jones coming back than the other defensive ends who are on the Bears roster which is why I think defensive end is a big need I think when you look

At you look at Demarcus you look at Jones you look at Billings you look at sweat then you look at the two rookies from last year you pair that with another you pair that with another Edge rusher because the fact that uh Demarcus can play inside and out it gives you

Some vers versatility also if you bring in another Edge rusher it’s only going to boost what Jones Dexter and Pickins are doing right there playing three technique because now you you where you going to shift your line at we we as you just mentioned pinching we’re we’re right here we’re stable we’re keeping

Our integrity on both sides of the outside now it’s just penetrate from the interior and you’re going to have to double one of these guys on the outside probably you’re going to start off with sweat depending on what the young player starts to do so I think that’s the way

To go me I will also say for this I think should go free sa see free safety with releasing uh uh Eddie Jackson um probably somebody of course Javon Bullard has been mentioned by everybody from Georgia Cameron kitchens out of uh Miami um another guy from your armor

Moer kayin bulock um fight out Cameron yeah but I would look towards those guys to replace Eddie Jackson but I also want to say this real quick before we get out of here I think they should look perhaps to get I think you’re always going to do

Running back by a committee to a degree they should look for someone who kind of known how to do it and I wouldn’t mind if they spend a little bit of money on DeAndre Swift someone someone like that and then you have you know your your backup running back and everything like

That you know but I think that would be the way to go in my opinion if I’m really I think I think they need more I think they need a consistent guy and you look at the fact that Herbert’s been banged up um so that’s the kind of the

Way that I’m looking at it right now interesting I don’t know about running back just because last year I think the Bears were just better when they had two guys instead of that who the guy was they didn’t know which guy that didn’t play the guy that was the guy deont

Foreman yes right because he couldn’t contribute on special teams right he didn’t have that special team thing I need run I need to score a ball but I’m sorry keep but when they did have all three healthy and they were trying to spread the ball out evenly it wasn’t

Really that great you know no guy could get in a Groove I’m I’m with you I’m not saying have three I’m saying you should have a clear one and then a a two to take that off like this is the guy we’re leaning on him heavy then you know what

We can put anybody back there I like the fact that you’ve proven you could put anybody back there but how about putting someone back there to Aid instead of we can like I know you want to be Shannahan and like I can throw anybody back there

And get a thousand yards that’s cool but get somebody you know what I’m saying that’s that’s that’s all I’m just trying to say okay okay I feel you I do want to touch on free free safety too that is a huge position in know that Eddie Jackson

Is because now you’re looking at like two safeties that the Bears can really rely on that they’ve really used uh significantly in the past years that’s Jaan brisker who’s a great player but like K Jenkins has had trouble staying on the field and Elijah Hicks who’s a

Seventh round pick and has shown he can play in a pinch but I don’t think the Bears are depending on Elijah Hicks to be their starter one name I’m throw out there as a kind of maybe Bears wish list guy and a guy who might not hit the

Market is uh Antoine Winfield Jr and the only reason I bring him up is because the Bucks have a lot of decisions to make in terms of what they’re going to do with their money what they’re going to do their franchise tag you have Mike Evans you have Baker Mayfield you have

Antoine Winfield Jr one of those guys you know could be could be the the odd man out if it’s Antoine Winfield Jr I mean he might be worth a spend a spend uh in free agency because I mean he he seems to do everything the Bears want a

Free safety to do big time ballhawk father play well for the Vikings did had a nice career at the University of Minnesota all right that’s it for us here in Lear Center podcast please comment let us know what you think the Bears need and who you think the Bears

  1. Of course we won’t draft a center early…I’m sure there’s a UDFA working at enterprise that can be mediocre to awful ….fits right in with the mcASSkeys and the mouth breathers in the Chicago media

  2. Note: To my favorite NFL team the Chicago Bears 🐻 Do not use your 2024 number one overall NFL draft pick to draft a quarterback that does not truly want to be a Chicago Bear. This was a good show. What will help the Chicago Bears fill a lot of the three needs you guys talked about would be to trade back with both 1st round picks and get additional draft capital. The Bears could possibly draft Michael Penix or Spencer Rattler at some point in the draft. Franchise tag Justin Fields. If Chicago quite simply speeds up Justin Field's throwing setup and delivery things should be fine. Colin Cowherd was not lying about what he heard. The Bears need to be careful with Caleb Williams and his camp. It would be catastrophic if the Bears draft Caleb Williams only to have him pull a Chase Claypool style move on them. The Bears could draft a lot of good young talent at every position with all of that extra draft capital. The Bears can draft a quarterback other than Caleb Williams and be just fine.

  3. Velus is one Dimensional..coupled w Fumble problems CUT!! Tyler Scott can do what he does. Everyone else's guy can come in and be a third down guy not him. Keep Fields build around him why trade a guy who someone will trade a high pick for? Ridiculous! Follow the teams want keep him! We can't get the haul by keeping the pick. Dont Want Floyd been there done that. Better to get a Rookie hungry than old guys past their prime that's what I grew up with. Cut DRob also. Zadarius Smith past his prime. Time for an efficient hungry progressing team no more giving up downs. I want another LT OC Safety WR 2 please DT and Edge. Sign Danielle Hunter he is a beast. Clock is ticking on Pickens hasn't progressed. Dont want DeAndre Swift can get a Rookie to do what he does played that game w Foreman. Overpaying Vets who aren't difference makers is over done.

  4. Thanks! Great show; you're informing (by way of showing/and not telling, w/ a heavy hand) your audience how to approach things, by way of challenging them/us to think beyond the "Thumbnails"… Much appreciated.

  5. Rome Odunze is far far better than Keon Coleman. He is likely to be gone before pick #9. If he is available, run that card up to the podium.

  6. Brown is a below average C, these so called Bears experts or people that get paid to talk Bears LOVE mediocre player's. Brown is basically Patrick

  7. Im perplexed that even trading down once to Washington..it may be more prudent to get more trade down for multiple linemen D and O. I think the upside of MHJr would pair with Justin perfectly and would sell tickets by brand name alone. However Lions OLine make an avg Goff be superstar. The Capital game is what Poles is Master at. We could make 3 or four teams pay hard for the next qb or next wr they need. We still hit in the first round on oline dline and even very good WR2.
If we pick Marvin we will have 2 WR1s which will be great.

  8. FA needed starting center, safety 2ad tier edge who can get sacks.
Draft bigWr, edge, center, safety, swing t/g and g/c te,big rb that block ….

  9. Add Darnell Mooney to the Chiefs and I bet he balls out. Then we’re asking why didn’t he do that over here? Cause Fields is trash 🚮

  10. If the Bears were smart, they should build around Fields and work on developing him better. Taliese Fuaga and Olumuyiwa Fashanu are both very good offensive lineman and are both first round draft picks. However, Joe Alt is the best offensive lineman in this draft and it is a no brainer. Joe Alt is a true professional and day one starter, that can make any team better, on day one! To be honest, I hope the Chicago Bears draft Joe Alt. The Bears need better offensive lineman and they could really use a guy like Joe Alt, who would make a big difference on that offensive line, on day one! However, we all know, the Bears organization is too ignorant to make a smart decision like that. They got Darnell Wright last year, now they need to get Joe Alt and keep building around Justin Fields. They not only can improve their offensive line, but have a dominate one, with a player like Joe Alt. They just need to keep adding the right pieces around Fields and build a foundation from the ground up. They already have a quarterback, now start building a dominate offensive line. Also, you have some good playmakers, in WR DJ Moore and a good TE in Cole Kmet. So, build around them, by adding more playmakers and key pieces. They need to get a guy like Joe Alt and then use their other picks, to get another good playmaker, like a Marvin Harrison or a Malik Nabers. Also, keep building in other areas. For example, maybe in the second or third round, get a really good, under the radar player, that can dominate and make your team better, like a Audric Estimae, at running back. That would be huge! Lastly, keep adding pieces on defense, particularly the D line! Guys like Alt, Harrison and Estimae are not only extremely talented, but give you heart, toughness and character as well and when building a championship team, that is all very important!!!
