After all…I’m Semi-Retired, Talking about Hockey with YOU!!!

[Laughter] we all know he add what three more years I believe $5.5 million for two more years following his uh his contract but here’s the number I got for you guys are you ready here we go ugly zero goal and only three point in February with 10

Games compared to Nick ski rout are you serious he have one goal and his last 20 game with m he has only five point in his last 20 game this is not good it’s about one goal for assist he have nine game of the

20 game he has one or zero shot on the net so after the game 55 50 45 or 48% of the time he have only one shot or zero shot on the net that’s bad yeah 47 hit and 20 game so an average of 2.7 seven we said to you

Approximat per game but 14 game of the 20 game guys you have only two8 left so two H one H or zero hit you have two game a five8 and one game a six8 remove those three game guys 31 hit honestly for the four 17 Game this is not Josh andon this sign up 21 goal last year he has a then the year before that have 19 goals he’s on the pace right now to score only eight goal it’s really not a great year for Josh andon and you go one month by month

October one point and one point November nine point December then you have two point now you have three point not a good year for Josh Anderson for me my biggest concern is body language you know it’s sometime you see the body language from the bench or the eyes

Everything that I know he works sometime uh m give it a chance to play and but for me I don’t like his b angua but I don’t know what you think about Josh Anderson both of you and the people in De shot wow uh I mean that tells it all

Coach uh those stats right there and and when you consider the fact that for the most part when he scores a goal he’ll score two or three uh that that doesn’t speak well for the other games right there’s a lot of zeros in in many categories and to me it’s sometimes it’s

Not even just all about those numbers you have to find like when you’re in a slump you have to find a way to contribute to the team if it’s checking it’s checking if it’s hitting it’s hitting if it’s killing penalties you kill penalties whatever the case might

Be exactly you have to find your Niche at that point until you get your scoring touch back or whatever the case might be now we’ve seen them over the last three years if you look at his stats they’re they’re degenerating every year uh he’s never really I could be wrong but I

Don’t think he’s ever got gotten over 35 points in a year even when he was with Columbus dear Jesus you’re right it’s uh you get to a stage where at his age this is what he is unfortunately and I I could be wrong in saying this but I’m

Getting to the point now where I think there’s been a lot of attempts to try to teach him and it hasn’t registered so to me that means maybe he doesn’t have a very high uh hockey IQ because he’s not adapting to the situation properly because he’s got the size he’s got the

Physicality that is correct he’s shown from time to time that he can score when he really puts his mind to it but somewhere it’s being lost in the translation and that doesn’t bode well for the future uh for for him and definitely doesn’t hold a good spot for

Him uh in the future in in Montreal so damn right damn right if they can get something going maybe a team might take an opportunity uh to use him as a you know a big body in the playoffs just a depth piece if that’s the case you take

Whatever you can rid yourself at this point oh boy so this is a tough one coach like you know last week or last show my headline was about rebuilding Gallagher right and I talked about how you know you could you can you could see say we was spending a lot of time with

Both Gallagher and Anderson since last year trying to you know work with them to try and add different ele to their game try to kind of get them to evolve as players the big thing with Anderson coach as we know is he it’s his vision

On the ice you know he’s not really able to to make a lot of a lot of more advanced reads on the play for anybody who’s watched him you know they they’ll know like he is amazing on the rush you know like he’s like a power horse like

Tatara used to call him you know like when he gets the puck on his stick and he’s entering the Zone but then guys I invite you like next time you see Anderson with the puck look at how he’s carrying the puck he he’s never looking around to see that’s a fact what’s

Happening around him he’s just really kind of skating with with horse blinders on it’s almost like he’s RAC it’s predictable and it’s like he’s you know what he would be he would be a great like Sprinter right like you know like uh the 100 yard dash you know like where

100 meter dash you know you have like a Singler Focus which is I need to get from point A to point B as fast as I can remember coach you were trying to get that little image of a rabbit that’s leading you know like the runners in a

Race like that’s what Anderson is right amaz he’s an amazing athlete has all the physical tools he got the strength he’s got a great shot you know his speed is incredible like probably one of the fastest players on the team like I was it’s to me it’s the same message as I

Had for Gallagher last year which is Noble effort by Martin s to try and challenge Anderson to kind of like you know look at how he can expand his game and everything else but like a the analogy I made with an old cell phone that you just can’t update the software

Just won’t work on this piece on this device right it’s just not going to work so true bestie so what do you do in that in that case well you have to go back to basics guys similar same thing as Gallagher last week he’s pretty much an

Untradeable asset at this point with uh you know with the value of his contract and everything so you need to build him back up you need to now the thing with Anderson remember we were saying last week you can’t give Gallagher jobs like go kill a penalty because he doesn’t

Have the speed but you know maybe a penalty kill it would be something that he could do you know like even though like coach the one thing that you’re like these numbers are really challenging but you know the thing that’s not covered in these numbers is

You know like the lack of of like positioning in the dzone and things like that too right so because you need good hockey IQ to kill penalties too right like it’s yeah absolutely so you need to find him a something to do right like that where he’s going to be able to add

Value and to me like coach like m that you know the S the S we expression where it’s an 8020 League you know so we don’t expect that Anderson could play 82 games where he’s flying all over the ice hitting everybody it’s just not sustainable to do it for 82 games or

During a whole Game but what he needs to do is be so maybe a skill that he uh that would be something that he would be able to do is find the moment in the game where you can where the team needs you to be that way you might not be able to do that

Physically every shift to go out and like skate and hit people and do that stuff but at least find moments in the game where you could turn the momentum for your team you know like those are not things that you necessarily need hockey IQ for but it’s something that uh

That you could learn the game within the game right like when when to do those things because guys like look at it’s the Steve be Factor right like everybody loves Steve ban because he went 100 miles an hour like would hit everything but it’s not sustainable to to do that

For very long you know and that’s why Gallagher is probably in the type of physical condition that he is now maybe a solution is you get him to again go back down to Basics what can you do to help the team we know you can’t play you

Know like berserko mode for every shift that you’re out there but try to find moments in the game where you can impact the game in a positive way for your team and maybe once he feels that those things are coming along then maybe the the confidence starts to come back I I

Think you know if he can get back against like the 15 20 goal scorer uh playing on a third line for us you know that that that’s kind of what he’s going to be but I just don’t see that Montreal would be able to move him or Gallagher

Unless you’re willing to give up assets thanks for watching another Daily News video of the day with the hockey coach your Cod friendship but before we leave guys we invite you don’t forget please to click on the like subscribe to the hockey news show and leave us a comments

  1. Put him on waivers after the trade deadline March 8, send him to Laval!
Maybe he can learn to focus in the AHL.
Nobody will touch him because of the 5.5 mill contract!

  2. It's pitiful really. Maybe he should try the same glasses that Skaf wore trying to help his peripheral vision. I don't know but gotta try something

  3. Send him to Laval, if Hughes had no qualms sending Armia down , but not Anderson,
Shit or get off the pot ,
    If ges

  4. To me Anderson should be placed on wavers and sent to Laval. Send Gally down also. Both of them are just not helping the team, perhaps they can help in Laval.

  5. Let's see if we've got this right – October 2020 Anderson signs a 7 year contract with Bergvin while Julien was coach. Goes to Stanley Cup finals He was considered a big chunk of the rebuild then

The following october, Claude Julian is gone, Ducharme is coach,
    Hughes comes in. ..
    Habs finished #28.

The next season, MSL takes over to do a "rebuild" meaning everyone's getting cleared out.
People are talking about bergvin's bad contracts, including Anderson

So Anderson goes from his first season with Montreal continuing to intentionally tank to #32 to get first round draft picks?

So he's being used to tank so Montreal can build a future of their team off of his back?

I think it's fair that he's overpaid to throw away his hockey career for the sake of Montreal's third rebuild in The last 5 years 🙄

Montreal will have to eat some of his contract, but I'm betting he's got another gear if he's sent to another team.

Sounds like his get up and go has got up and went.

Since he came to montreal, a trip to Stanley Cup finals all the way down to bottom of the barrel, 2 gm's, three coaches…

Gee, that sounds like a fun team 🤔

  6. Coach, i seems to remember J. Anderson had some PK time last year and if memory serves he was Surprisingly good on the PK

  7. Well you cannot trade an asset when the asset is LOW… buy low sell high rule!!! I would shop him around and see what you can get… but I do NOT GIVE HIM AWAY for free.

Clearly something is not right with him

This is a performance based business and asset management is key

I ride out this year with him in this tank year

    Use MSL And coaching staff

See where a fresh start next year goes or package him with an pick at the draftat the
