What’s going on everybody welcome back to another episode of turn on the Jets or toj talks start getting used to uh still not saying turn on the Jets podcast toj talks presented by Badlands mid Saturday afternoon episode here couple days out from the NFL combine slower week um you know wanted to come

Have a lot on next week’s episode want to come on here again just talk a little bit about some of the Discord questions I got um not much new since I recorded the toj pod on Thursday biggest kind of change I guess was the NFL salary cap

The official number came out will be $25.4 million I believe um up about $30 million you know from a year ago um you know puts the Jets in the green you know obviously every team got 30 million CES not just the Jets um but puts the Jets

In the green about 15 million or so you know below the cap at least before any restructures any cuts which obviously you know is a positive for them it’s a positive for everybody you know it’s probably more so a positive for teams like the Dolphins bills um Saints ETA

That are so far over the cap getting them underneath maybe they won’t have to cut one or two guys or don’t have to go back and restructure a guy um so you know that’s obviously One news and I’ll talk about you know how it affects Bryce off potentially and others um the one

Thing I want to kind of talk about quickly before we I I get on a roll of anything else seen a lot of seen a lot of Zack Wilson highlight tapes on on Jet’s Twitter and Jamal you know begging and pleading on people’s knees for Jamal

Adams to be back um look everyone can fan how they want a fan or cover the team how they want to cover the team that’s perfectly fine with me I just I still don’t I don’t like the day that Zach Wilson’s traded uh will be a better

Day for the Jets it hasn’t worked out here it’s nothing you know it’s not all Zach’s fault it’s not all the Jets fault it’s not every you know sometimes just not very good doesn’t have it and you know also you know not the best maybe circumstances for him or anybody else

Right like those are all fair things and um you know again I I understand if you’re a Zach Wilson Defender I’m not sure really what you’re defending but at the same time like I get it right like it happens maybe you don’t believe in the head coach the GM whatever it may be

Oh that’s fair but stop with the six-minute you know three years a six-minute highlight tape over three years for a quarterback and you know the first three plays are checkdowns in a game they lost I I just I get the engagement you know thing on Twitter and whatever um we’re better

This fan base is better than that come on guys got people saying Bryce off’s not valuable and um you know and uh and all these different things and don’t go pay a receiver and at the same time you know posting Zack willson highlight tapes and begging and pleading for Jamal

Adams to come back look if Jamal Adams comes back on a veteran minimum as the third linebacker third or fourth safety sure um was a great jet no doubt about it two time all pro two pro bowls in three years netted the Jets two first- round picks that got them avt and

Garrett Wilson great um you know was pretty big on the way out and you know scorched Earth with the Jets organization the Jets fan base claimed you know things of depression um you know went on and danced and did a whole video on you know on Instagram live and

The hit piece with Manish and and all these different things you know going back to the New England game um you know where he said we need some more dogs in here and just super disrespectful to everybody in that locker room and then um yeah look it’s

Not wasn’t just Adam gase okay um the Jets went on one had one of their biggest wins three-year stretch with you know gase and darnold and stuff again not that impressive they beat a Cowboys team that was banged up but like went on right after and then requested a trade

Was liking himself and cowboys like it’s just not worth it again you can separate that stuff the player can want their money and all these different things that’s great and like again once to come back on a veteran minimum sure like go for it man but um he’s been not the same

Player he used to be um a lot of injuries they’ve taken it their toll on him his body um pretty scary concussion a couple times last year he’s had you know fully torn his quad torn groin torn muscles in his it’s just it’s a lot so

Um better things to do on a Saturday than probably posting Zach Wilson and Jamal Adam highlight tapes Jamal Adam highlight tapes from the the Trump Administration and um you know Zack Wilson and highlight tapes in a in a loss in which he had two really nice drives um probably we’re people are

Better than that we got to be better than that so I want to get a couple Discord questions here again shorter episode um first uh for Mr slippery realistic targets for free agents instead of playing paying for Allstars everywhere um realistic targets of free a free agents I would say offensive line

Wise Aaron Brewer of the Titans I’ve mentioned his name a few times I’ve heard there will be interest there um John ran you know from Green Bay are the two names I would watch out for there I’m on the interior um I think those two guys can make sense Lloyd cushenberry is

Probably the bigger name of an interior guy I just don’t I don’t know if they’ll do that but Tyler Bish is another name top 10 top 12 Setter in the NFL who knows if the the Cowboys got to extend you know got to extend Dak they’re G

Have to extend Micah they’re gonna have to extend CD lamb um bring back Tyron Smith who completed an eight-year contract which is just insane to think about uh so I just don’t know that Bish is retained and if if that’s the case um that’s another name I think Cali Jets

Was tweeting about him you know a lot of weeks so shout out to Cali there um you know in terms of that in terms of you know other names receiver I would say Curtis Samuel is a name I would say Kendrick Bourne are names these are more

Wide receiver threes you know at this point they’re not guys that you would look at and say you wouldn’t be wowed by it you know I’d like the Kendrick Bourne signing if he’s a second edition at receiver um does he get you kind of excited as like oh okay you know Garrett

Player X Bourne and then Lazar brownley Gibson okay interesting like now I’m intrigued there um you know those are two names I would say the defensive side of the football maybe a Sheldon rankins return could be interesting at defensive line he might have priced himself out unfortunately uh you know there again um

Yeah I safety wise I think it’s really probably bringing back a whitehead or bringing back Chuck Clark um you know those are some names I think those are some realistic targets I think at quarterback it’s briset and muu you know as the bigger names in terms of money

And then it’s the tanah hill Dalton Jimmy G um you I look the same thing would be funny I I don’t think Sam wants to be here um yeah I think he he did his time um you know in this market so those are just some names running back wise

Deon single ter is a name to watch Zack Moss another name to watch as well I don’t think Aaron Jones or AJ Dylan gets to the market but if they do maybe that’s maybe that’s something that they you know look into terms of tight end Mercedes Lewis Robert tunyan some former

Some former Packers guys that maybe you know round out that that room after they you know eventually cut you know uzama um yeah and then you know in terms of you know DB like I said those are some names linebacker I don’t see the Jets spending really money at all they they

They spend a ton of money with you know CJ and Quincy Etc um you know so those are some names Edge rusher maybe they go after a Josh uch I I just pay Josh uch did not pay Bry off it’s just very frustrating uh maybe it’s a

Leonard Floyd Etc um but again I don’t know you know I don’t think that they you know anything will be big time there um moving on to the next question here um it’ll be from um again Mr slippery uh what is what’s a dream dress to come on

Shannon Sharps pod the other day would be really interesting so he’s he’s one that’s maybe not the name you would soon stick out Curtis Martin would be you know another one as well um yeah those are those are just a couple you know maybe you know coming on here in mawaii

Or brick um you know be able to come on talk offensive line Chris Jenkins would be a defensive guide love to have on um some over the former Jets and then obviously there’s a few names that may be coming on the Pod uh in the future

That are current jets that um would be as well uh NY Jets 1250 ask this on Q&A but would love to hear about the new cat figures potential tag amounts uh being released and whether they means Huff is much more likely to stay one way or

Another no excuse for me not for them not to keep them or worst tag in trade now since the defensive end tag they can even work around um look so I I kind of mentioned this at the top the one thing I will say is yes it helps

The Jets in terms of maybe one or two restructures they don’t have to do or one or two cuts they didn’t maybe want to have to do there’s not really a lot of guys they can cut other than like uzama or maybe Linc if they they want to

Go that route but again you have to replace lak so it’s probably not the best idea um realistically not cutting Lazard to eat all that dead money so I I say all that to say like it helps them in in a sense if they want to tag

Him they could with pretty simply I just they’ve made it pretty clear they don’t they don’t really see that being the case um I think Huff’s going to either get resigned at the 11th Hour Jason V sherald if you know over the cap who is very very smart like one of the smartest

People in the industry if not like top three smartest people uh when it comes to all these different transactional stuff if you know if he’s mentioning that there’s got to be some Credence there but I think if Huff makes it to the market you know he’s probably gone I think Washington uh Philly

The Giants Houston maybe even a San Francisco I don’t know um you know that look at the teams that run this system maybe it’s a Green Bay like who knows uh you know in terms of that but um yeah look at I think to not get any value in

Return and maybe the whatever a third or fourth round compensatory pick like great man like Yay but the Jets haven’t exactly hit on a of those picks in the past anyway so it’s not really something that um you know I’d be banking on if I

Was them but uh look at I think it helps the Jets for sure it helps every team though and um don’t think agents are not going to know the teams have 30 million more you know the cap went up by that much which means you know if you’re two

His agent you’re asking for more money Dax agent you’re asking for money Huff Josh Allen whatever it may be you know down in Jacksonville you know we saw Brian Burns get leaked this you know this week he wanted five years 30 million a year um you know if I’m him

And they said hey you offered me 27 the cap went up no excuse not to give me 30 you that’s the way it’s going to roll so um that’s the way I would kind of EX you know explain that next couple questions here again this is a much shorter

Than expected has to at least give the Jets thoughts of you know tagging Huff even if it’s trade down the road which I which is hard I know the option has to at least exist yeah the option exists for sure they just haven’t really there’s been no chatter that they’re

Going to tag him um and I’m sure that teams kind of had an an inkling the cap would go up I think you know Brad spieler thought he you know had mentioned the cap potentially going up to around the 240 45 range obviously went higher than that so maybe it

Changes but I I can’t say for sure you know unfortunately um Israel in terms of uh DMS 7 as as of right now perent we resign Huff I’ll go 80 to 20 he’s gone I’m hoping the 20% will increase so just had some of those questions um again
