So the first drill my coach at the time gave me was the step through drill which was absolutely brilliant cuz it forced the weight onto my left side so what we did SE up to the golf ball and then bring your left foot over to the right
Foot and then as soon as you start taking that club back you move your left foot over you’re shifting that weight you’re planting that left foot back and getting that pressure shifting Ultra Ultra early and that straight away was amazing so just like so and immediately doing that drill
I saw some great great distance gains

Start with your weight on your left foot! Then swing the club! Gives you lag and compression on the ball.Shifting is more movement which is what you don't want.
Why not just keep weight on left side throughout the swing ? That's how I play .
I tend to sway in my swing, so I think this tip would be counterproductive.
