A man tried to give unwanted advice to a professional woman golfer while she was practicing at a range, and women couldn’t believe she had the patience to stand him.
26-year-old Georgia Ball, who is from Liverpool, UK, is part of the Professional Golfer Association (PGA) and has more than 15 years of experience and teaches golf courses for beginners and professionals.
On Feb. 21, Ball posted a video to her various social media accounts showing the incident that has since received millions of views.
“You know I’ve been playing golf for 20 years. What you need to do is follow-through,” the man, who is off screen, told Ball.
Ball tried to explain that she was going through a swing change, but the man insisted that she follow his directions and “just hit one.”
She then hits another ball, but with little difference from her initial shot.
The man then tells her that it was better.
“Laughing in shock at what this guy is saying. This was no better than the one before,” she wrote on the video while looking exasperated at the camera.
When Ball tried to once again explain that she is going through a swing change, the man cuts her off and said, “I’ve been playing golf for 20 years, so you just need to follow through. See how much better that was then? Keep doing that anyway, okay?”
People online said this was a textbook example of mansplaining and were saving the video to explain the concept later.
“She’s a better person than I am because no way could I hold in my reaction” a person wrote on Twitter, also known as X.
When asked why Ball didn’t tell him who she was outright, Ball said in the comments that she had been at a “loss for words” and “shocked” by the entire experience.

There is no way I would ever take that woman seriously. To me, those pants advertise: I'm single, don't have a boyfriend and "open for business". Additionally – "professional" woman golfer is simply a joke and is designed to make women feel good. I have more respect for a woman who is a good "mother" to her children.

All she had to do was say "Are you a pro?" when his response was no, her next statement should have been, "well I am and I don't take advice from amatures, but thanks anyway".

He tried to be helpful, he didn't know shes a pro, now lets get the man for trying to help and genuinely trying be useful or possibly trying to get a closer look a the tiny butt.
Either way this is nothing it was a fairly polite interaction between two people.

This is totally about 'golfers'. This is exactly what they are like. He would have given his advice even if it was a young lad next to him, because its all about ego in golf and trying to reach the perfect technique.

Also, she is young, Pro or not. I bet most people standing next to her wouldn't know who she's is, she's not beyond criticism herself.

Ahem, I've been playing golf for 20 years. So what, some people play golf all their life, and have been, and always will be shite at it. Some of the best women pro's on the LPGA don't look like they're doing much and have such efficient swings they hit the ball way further than men club golfers. That what she was doing. Very smooth efficient swing and great ball striking.
Every range has its fair share of expert slicers with a new set of Taylormades and no idea.
