2024 Daytona 500 Highlights | NASCAR on FOX

NASCAR on FOX

It’s all a part of the biggest stock car race in the world the Daytona 500 on Fox in the proud Spirit of America and in the proud Spirit of our great country finally The Rock Says drivers start your n and they will face the green flag for

200 laps 500 miles to start the 2024 season green flag the Daytona 500 is underway still building speed in the back straightway well they’re building speed Mike but the one thing I can tell you about the start of this race that all the drivers are going through is going

To be experiencing the speed of the pack that they haven’t experienced all week all 40 cars in the pack they’ve only raced against half the field so far and right now they’re all lined up building speed but speed that they haven’t felt before this week I think this weather is going to

Play a role in it Mike you told us about the weather Suns out you can see it shining down on this Racetrack and on these cars these boys are going to have their hands full here in a few laps and these things start slit and sliding around tires wear out

And after two solid days of soaking rain you don’t want to end up in that infield grass can’t be iffy in these decisions Kevin that spotter says clear up you better be there oh crash two cars Slamm together and Harrison Burton takes a wild ride through the grass and up into

More traffic gets tagged turned around and five cars are in it Ryan priest I think he missed that inside one Harrison Burton big damage on the 21 car okay you see Harrison Burton in the middle of that three wide conversation we’re talking about and we are also

Talking about John Hunter neek kind of being iffy on his move now the 42 John Hunter neek on the outside of Burton the green and white car and Brad keslowski and he make contact keslowski got to his rear bumper just took a little bit of a love tap

Turn him sideways kind of I was looked to me like he was on the left corner of that bumper turned him right right down into Harrison Burton well it’s just what we were talking about Clint between Daniel Suarez then you see lson already going to the outside with Bowman look

For Chase Elliot and and uh his teammate as well Byron to go up four hendrik cars pouncing on your leader coming the points earned in each stage 10 through one for the first 10 finishers they carry with you all through the season some of these teams are counting points beginning right now

How about this Byron moved up to go around them Bush made a block separated those hendrik cars now Chase Elliot to the lead final lap of the stage lap car slow on the bottom Chase Elliot try to bring them around and pick up the stage win after a truly disappointing

2023 Kyle Larson teammate to Chase Elliot will he ride with him will he try to grab those 10 points and the stage ticket for himself we see Ross Chastain coming to the back bumper push got to see momentum watch his five going to the outside of Chase Elliot that’s what it

Took Now by Chase I think thees a Chase Elliot fantastic the sage Chase Elliott gets his second stage win in the Daytona 5 hunt we’re about to be lapped cars those teammates are holding strong in that middle big shot by Blay giving syri a shove Byron on that outside pushing

Bush those three cars just getting lapped all had some Pit Road issues but very getting turned around and that’s why they’re now going a lap down gosh I just this this side by side with that that second the bottom Lane moving so close to the outside Lane they’ve obviously in they’re obviously

In a position where they feel like it’s helping them keep up and keep the momentum but it it it keeps getting Tighter and Tighter and Tighter and it’s going to cause a problem at some point and that point is off the corner when you get tight you lose the nose off that

Car in front of you there’s no room for error you’re going to be up in the side of that car seeing it time and time again here on the exit of the corners Daniel Suarez the freeway insurance cam uh coming up into play here he is fifth

As they have half a lap to go to complete stage two well you see Daniel Suarez right here with this throttle percentage what he’s doing right there is is checking up so he doesn’t run into the back of the car in front of him and that’s the kind of momentum that they

Have right now able to just run up there and RAM that car if he didn’t let off the throttle battle for the stage win battle to be the first car one laap down and get the free pass that’s priest versus Gibbs as cnri takes him into turn

Three bledy to the bottom he said he wasn’t going to help his teammates he didn’t he dropped to the bottom to try to win stage two great move by syri to move up before Bush got to his outside and get caught in the middle middle that

Was a heads up move by cnri Champion Ryan blay win stage two from Austin cnri Daniel swarez Kyle Busch and Tyler reck it is Blay’s third stage win in the Daytona 500 you’re looking at Kyle Busch trying to limp onto Pit Road without losing his left front wheel which has no retaining nut

Attached you see no waved his hands stop stop stop unfortunately did not get that lug nut on here we go again Chastain Lone Wolf up here leading this pack with those two forwards behind him block block block he knows they’re wanting around him they’re going to make

A move speaking of moves kazasi to the inside again back up in front of Lano and Chastain saw it coming and went up with him now Leo the outside they can’t get around kazlowski gets turned by William Byron blay gets caught up Gillan Truex H and more all those Fords were struggling to

Get around Chastain who get around and get that Clean Air Track position first that’s what happened and you see Alex Bowman up the RAC track and then they start zigging and zagging here and well obviously William Byron and Bowman that’s where it ended up but the

The movement from the six and the 22 jocking for position trying to outd one another to that position of passing Chastain that’s what stacked all those guys up and got them in trouble those guys were going for it Chastain was holding them up you saw the six go to

The bottom you saw the 22 go to the outside and unfortunately those guys behind him this gives you a much better view right there you see the 24 car just being pushed and sometimes you just you’re not aligned and you know you’re not lifting and you that car gets the

Moving around and you hope it works out and it just didn’t work out right here we saw this same scenario playing out at the duel the other night when blay got in a wreck you really can’t pin it on anybody it’s bit a contact there Midfield as William Byron who seated

Jeff Gordon and the hendrik number 24 is out front huge pushes on that outside they kept getting in one another had to back off according effect stacked him up everybody had to lift BR line Big Time syri tried the top no got back in line now Chastain has a

Push lot of energy on this outside Chastain here he comes Kevin well we saw that the same thing that happened to the Top Lane with the bottom Lane they got broke up and now we’ve got William brron leading the bottom Lane with Austin cnri behind him Ross Chastain leading the

Outside Lane one lap to go sponsored by Credit One B and away they go that is syri into Chastain and up into traffic did they complete that lap did the leader get the white flag it’s going to be close who won it for him and the Daytona 500 winner will be

The 24 need the 24 to start Finish Line goes to Victory Lane William Byron from Charlotte North Carolina Rudy Fugal his crew chief won yes we won unbelievable 40 years to the day hendrik Motorsports goes one two at the Daytona 500 of them pretty well B up not this

  1. Byron in right place at right time. Lot of super speedway races finish this way. With wreck close to front. And whoever fortunate enough to avoid wreck .

  2. Based on the highlights, looked like a boring race. I have not been overly impressed with NASCAR since they started stage racing. You want to do heats, do heats. But don't break up a teams rhythm just to give cars a free chance to catch up.

  3. Well that's what racing is all about. Go from wiping out the field ta winning! Guess who's got a target on his back the rest of the year! 😂😂😂

  4. I'm well aware that wrecks happen. But just once, I would like to see the final 10 laps run cleanly just to see who's the best driver and team.

  5. Why does Nascar take so long to get the race going after cautions? It's unbelievable — even with no damage to the track they just go round and round behind the safety car for like 15 minutes. I just don't understand, why subject the fans to that, what am I missing here?

  6. Byron couldn’t control his car in the bump draft, in way over his head. Takes out the field, and gets the win. Somehow, if you take out the field, you should have a drive through or end of the longest line. Otherwise, it will keep happening. Oh wait……

  7. What’s crazy is in the press interviews after the crash, the drivers that got wrecked are more calm than I am after getting wrecked in iRacing

  8. Keselowski should be pointed or fined for being up on John hunters bumper, burton had a good car, and he took out my driver Blaney

  9. PLEAZZZZZZE don't change rules! We come here to SEE THE WRECKS! If you think we want to see 500 laps of no wrecks, you are totally and sadly mistaken!

  10. That was Ross chastains race. That move to try and get past William Bryon was smooth. It would have worked and Ross would have passed Byron and win the race. But them bottom cars cut back up and screwed him. Just bad luck.

  11. Had a great time at the 500 this year. The race seamed a little choppy due to the fuel strategy all race. But all in all. It was a great time!

  12. This reminds me of the IROC series. All cars are the same, no innovation or different engines. They all run together and when one car wrecks or gets loose, it takes out half the field. "The Big One" seems to be the only reason to watch, and even that gets pretty old. No thanks. RIP NASCAR.
