Alumni game so happy what a great turnout by by former student athletes what a great crowd we have in here today we’ve got the vars the JV team this year from the 2324 Green Wave program what a happy day to be at the rank a big day for sure and again uh the
Petron family has seen to it that the scholarship continues 31 years is uh a lot of momentum and it’s just done so much for the student athletes here in Greenfield yeah absolutely you know the pet family has done a phenomenal job as you said 31st Annual the heart and dedication it takes
From the peton family to continue to do what they do for this program is unbelievable so grateful for what they’ve done over those years and will continue to do as we move forward Puck goes back down behind Jordan [Applause] Lali tick cross playing guard at the point keeps it

From the Green Team we do have the Captain John Oregon from 1983 and the captain from the white team 50-year Alum graduating in 7 4 Mr John Richardson but if you really look at this roster this year skate Doc it’s almost like a Changing of the Guard it’s
It’s a much younger alumni game this year than we’ve had ever since I’ve been around yeah you make a really good point coach because uh Jason Smith from last year’s Green Wave Squad Matt Levy Trevor kesy are all out on the ice today Dylan archer in Pursuit that one goes for
Icing going to come all the way back but not just not just the class of 2023 we go back to the state championship ship Club of 2020 we got buoy Harris Shan O Sullivan Derek Leno Mikey McGoldrick and Brian Bowman all here so just in that
Quick little bit we’ve got eight or nine student athletes who you know might not even be in their 20s yet it’s it’s really great thing to see it goes to show what Green Wave hockey well means to these young student athletes don’t take anything away from the older
Gentlemen that that still come year in and year out I’m just saying it’s a great thing to see this kind of changing of the guards as uh Nick marer tries to go wheel whe wheel there but uh didn’t help didn’t have it all the way before you
Came over I had remarked and I’ll say it again his hair’s going to look as good when he takes off the helmet as when he put it on and you know it will you know it will oh kept in at the Blue Line nicely done Pete Smith comes back around this [Applause]

You know again great turnout been big parts of Franklin County hockey for many many years and uh this is you know a continuance of the way they give back to not just the youth program here but to our Green Wave high school program white team gets it
In and as quick as it went in went out bu Harris with the breakway a second time Buy’s gotten free like that Pete Smith though on the back check scar Tyler Townsley from the high slot just like he used to tell him Coach two on two hockey right two four Checkers
Hard find that guy in the slot good things are going to Happen officials having a consultation I think they’re trying to decide who put the biscuit in the basket GRE go scor by number 18 Tyler assisted by number 12 Buy when you look out across the way when you look at those two benches what a great turnout there’s four lines deep on each team to see all these student athletes come back and support the program so proud to be a part of it and
It’s really I’m you’re going to probably he hear me say this seven or eight more times throughout this game Doc the way that Green Wave program has has been part of the a lot of these guys lives and they continue to give back to the program whether it’s here in this
Game with the youth hockey supporting the senior the VAR City and JV teams what a great hockey we have here no you’re absolutely right the uh you it kind of makes you wonder if any other programs here in western Mass have this kind of turnout
For an alumni tilt yeah you know I’m not sure but if you look around you got to say we’re at least 150 plus deep in the in the arena all four sections are about quarter full or half full it’s a beautiful thing ganis with the save buoy Harris again getting the shot
Away offensive minded back in the day still is well you remember back his freshman year we experimented putting buy up to Ford for a couple of games uh as as you all can remember for the three and a half rest of his uh years of his career he was on defense so uh

G Zack D assisted by number 10 J it’s great to see all these student athletes come back and being able to play with your Lin mates that you played with you know four five six plus years ago it’s one of the things I love about alumni games and uh really again really proud
Of the turnout this [Applause] year an offsides call look like M High’s going to drop the puck Mikey Duos and Jake Elwell on the draw Dylan Archer finding his position back out here green takes it Duos carries it in Dylan you remember won the defensive player of the year award from the green

There there we go Zach eer Zack eer is one of my favorite green wave stories rough time when he first joined the program as I recall had never skated before just a little Pawn shiny with his buddies and uh found the passion found the game and uh now I’d have to say he’s
Probably one of the most experienced guys out there in this game yeah he worked hard extremely hard as it his brother Joey who’s out there as well you know they worked extremely hard to you know find that P to to find the skill because they had the passion for sure and
Um G with that with his second on point on Q finds his own rebound finds his yeah for sure L valy put the pillow on it kicked it right back out to him G made no mistake and it’s 3-1 white with a minute 37 to go here in the first period

Replay a few times Bank it off the back of the goalie to putle home this this is rapidly turning into one of those games that the goalies are saying that clock just has to move faster they’re definitely seeing lots of rubber wouldn’t have it any other way though for that [Applause]
Game okay and they gave that goal to Sam urle even too close the assist on it so I’m going to guess the puck bounced in off of [Applause] Sam we got ourselves a six to4 hockey game still 5 minutes to go in the second period G again [Applause]

You know I just had one of those moments gate do and I apologize for being a little bit TIY coming back to the uh to the broadcast Booth Booth here but for the uh one of the first times out in the lobby today I I was speaking to a couple
Of our student athletes that we have coached and I met their daughters for the first time so it was a really really special moment for me out there uh it’s one of those moments that I’m going to remember meeting a couple of those student athlete athletes kids
Where uh just a few years ago they were student athletes here on this ice and now they’re dads and and to be proud with their children is just something that’s amazing I I I love that you say that uh and you know we we talk hockey 52 weeks
A year uh we’re family it it’s uh just a a great camaraderie that this hockey family has and when you see the Next Generation come up and it’s great that the former student athletes are now out parents but even the members of our coaching staff you know it’s um just the
