Welcome to #Gangwon2024! The 4th Winter Youth Olympic Games will take place in the province of Gangwon in the Republic of Korea, which already hosted the Olympic Winter Games #PyeongChang2018. These are the first Winter YOG to be held in Asia and will build on the Olympic Games legacy and engage even more young people through various activities before, throughout and after the Games.
There are 15 sports taking place (Alpine Skiing, Biathlon, Bobsleigh, Cross-Country Skiing, Curling, Figure Skating, Freestyle Skiing, Ice Hockey, Luge, Nordic Combined, Short Track Speed Skating, Skeleton, Ski Jumping, Snowboard & Speed Skating) across nine venues, and you can enjoy the action both on YouTube (limited coverage) and Olympics website (all available events).

I am surprised others have not tried that before in this sport. I have never seen the finals skated that way before. All she had to do was just stay up with the pack after her quick start. Non of the other racers did not follow her. Why?

last time I used the similar tactic in our school racing, people not even knew I run one lap less, I call this turtle tactic

The only person in the stadium who understood Yang Jingru's tactic was the guy who rang the final lap bell.
The last time I used the rabbit tactic in a running track event at school, the race adjudicator didnt notice I was a lap ahead and I was just awarded last place.
In a tight-circuit race it was a brilliant tactic because the rest of the field will dismiss an early charge thinking to catch up, but if she is allowed to reach the end of the pack she gets the full drafting benefit from everyone, and the confusion factor caused by the last lap bell for her teammate to "play along" then push forward to claim silver when others think it's over? Absolute brilliance.

Speed Skating is so stupid it should be about being the fastest its a race what is this nonsense the Chinese pulled why is everyone so proud of it, who cares about cheaters if nobody knows how they got their lame win then its not really impressive.

Chinese team already knew they're gonna win when nobody chases Yang. They planned it and practiced it. Yang's position at the back of the race confuses all other competitors. Genius play.

Nearly all skaters have their regular routines and game plans and were poorly prepared for such sudden unexpected development. To make the situation even more confusing, Yang stayed at the end of the pack so closely. When the bell rang, all others thought, except the other Chinese, that's for them and totally forgot that they got lapped merely 2 mins ago.
The announcer is so confused on that Yang move. He's trying to play it off, but still confused.
