[Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] a sitting Big 10 head coach leaves for a cordinator position at a big 10 School Panic ensues what this actually means for the state of coaching in the wild west we call college football and the best cure for day after Super Bowl Blues

Is talking about Super Bowl blue shippers we’re answering the age-old question do stars matter with examples and data from Sunday night NFL finale plus the top 10 Recruiters in college football a surprise School represented on that list and multiple coaches no longer at the place they earned the

Recognition for recruiting too I know it’s a lot but we’ll help you through it all as the college football recruiting show starts right Now hello and welcome into the show I am Emily proud a reminder to make sure that you are subscribed to the 24/7 Sports YouTube channel also if you would be so kind as to like this video so my producer doesn’t have to ask me to ask

You later in the show chances are he still will either way you hit that like button I’m going to hit the headlines because guess what the number one class in 2025 is running away with it Notre Dame picking up another commitment this time from wide receiver elah burus he is

The son of NFL veteran and Super Bowl champ plexico burus the Fighting Irish now have 15 total commits that is Far and Away the most in 2025 meanwhile a big win for new Duke head coach Manny Diaz fourstar linebacker Cameron Smith committing to the Blue Devils over the

Weekend he’s a top 247 player and top 20 at his position and hey the coaching Carousel it just won’t stop spinning the latest UCLA head coach Chip Kelly leaves for another job in the Big 10 as Ohio State’s offensive coordinator will break down this unprecedented move in just a

Bit but the Bruins really wasting little time in naming his successor UCLA Hall of Famer DeShaun Foster tab the next head coach Foster had just taken the job as the Las Vegas Raiders running back’s coach but will now lead the Bruins into the Big 10 and clearly the players are

Excited about their new head coach and that leads us into our next segment and for that we’re bringing on national college football writer Brandon Marcelo uh first let’s start with that a new UCLA head coach deshun Foster what do you think of this fit yeah it’s not not

Often you see a head coach get introduced and the players are all uh surrounding him like that the players loved him and they were pushing uh Martin Jarman the the Athletics director there to hire him in this short but and quick process and he was a name that

Started surfacing quickly in that he had just left the UCLA staff as running backs coach the last few seasons to go to the NFL to coach the Las Vegas Raiders but when home Came Calling he quickly made that decision to return there to lead the UCLA program which is

Obviously going through a transition in more ways than one as they go into the Big 10 next year but this is a guy who understands UCLA program in and out and I think it was very very critical for them to get a coach who understands the

Program but is also very willing to go out there and try to build up what they’ve been struggling with here lately and that’s nil um they do not have a very strong nil support structure there at UCLA they are nowhere near even the middle pack of the Big 10 going into

Next year the Shawn Foster has got to work with the the boosters there and everybody to get them excited about the future of UCLA football so they can take the nil piece and start to run with it a little bit because UCLA was not doing very well with the nil under Chip Kelly

Chip Kelly notoriously someone who wasn’t very much in love with recruiting Deshawn Foster is a guy who’s going to have to I think day one go in there figure out the recruiting aspect and get the nil rolling because it is struggling big time there in Los Angeles is there a

Better fundraiser than a Hall of Fame bruan himself that certainly makes the pitch all that easier uh let’s get to the big story here though Brandon why did Chip Kelly leave a head coaching job in one of the two major conferences for an offensive coordinator job in in the same

Conference no head coach in college football the last two years has flirted with more schools than Chip Kelly this is a guy who most recently had talked to at least three NFL teams about coming on board as offensive coordinator he had talked to at least two other schools on

Unofficial channels about joining them including I’m hearing Iowa and Ohio State does Iowa make any sense about Chip Kelly’s offense it doesn’t to me but again it shows just just how desperate he was to leave UCLA and also I will add this this is not necessarily

A marriage that broke up and both sides are hurting for it UCLA was on the verge of firing Chip Kelly one of the big issues there is the buyout at about $8.5 million do in December they just work going to pay that out and it was an up

And down year they had some good wins beat USC but also lost the Arizona State winning eight games it’s good there obviously winning eight n games especially with the talent he had that on roster and they could have been recruiting better but they were still winning games going here into the Ohio

State Job him and Ryan day very well known together he Ryan Day played for Chip Kelly previously way way back they know each other and back in late December early January sources were telling me that the two were talking even then about him joining there as OC

And it surprised me and also some of my partners in crime in in the Big 10 beat going really and I was like yes he is really trying to get out and be a coordinator somewhere Chip Kelly there for a few weeks so thought he might land

An NFL gig that didn’t happen Chip Kelly though lands softly there in Columbus I wouldn’t be surprised if he tries to use this just as a launching pad to get back in the NFL either as a coordinator or a head coach but most likely as a coordinator Chip Kelly has made it very

Clear that he looks like he’s done with college football as soon as possible yeah based on some of the um you know the the things that he has said in the media recently too just talking about the woes of being a head coach uh but man there was a lot there Brandon I’m

Trying to like react to all of this with a buyout that big it sounds like he kind of gave a gift to UCLA and also trying to picture him uh coordinating Iowa’s offense is uh an image certainly uh last question I have though I mean with a

Move as head scratching as this one naturally we’re of course going to read into it use it as reasoning for a great issue in your eyes what does this move tell us about the state of coaching in college football well listen head coaches for the most part have always been about

Themselves and trying to advance their careers I know they talk about helping players but they’ll help players if it’s helpful for them and I think a lot of coaches are good people it’s just that the reality of the business is they’ll you’ll be fired in an instant if you do

Not win games I don’t know necessarily if this says anything necessarily about the state of college football within ilil and EXP expon and realignment and the Pack 12 folding and all that and maybe Chip Kelly saws an opportunity to leave a bad school I don’t think UCL is

A bad school it’s one that could be successful but what is hurting them there is that the financial issues there they’ve been in the red the last five years losing millions and millions of dollars in fact a total of $67.72 get some of that money back obviously going to the big 10 bigger

Payday but this is also a roster just looking at the personnel there they lose quite a bit of production they rank I think 95th in ESPN’s returning production chart going into next season so to expect them to maybe win seven or eight games next year regardless of the

Conference they were in was going to be very positive thinking and I just don’t know if the roster is built for that right now so Chip Kelly the last couple years has really been trying to work to get out of that situation and for that

Matter UCLA was not going to be upset if he found another job whether it was last year or this year cuz as I said earlier he was looking for jobs a year ago we were told didn’t land anything this year was his pretty much his last opportunity

Otherwise he’s going to be stuck there and probably get fired at the end of this upcoming year all right so we should not read into it too much this was a particular situation but it’s La there should be plenty of money help the Bruins out here uh thank you for helping

Us out Brandon by being on our show we really appreciate it thanks all right let’s talk about the Ohio state of it all uh Buckey’s offensive coordinator for a few weeks Bill O’Brien leaves for the Boston College job and Chip Kelly stepping in as we just said to coach

Ohio State’s Talent Rich offense and what it is time to talk about the Buckeyes there is one phone call we make it is to Dave Biddle of bucknuts.com uh Dave as it pertains to this roster a big reason Alabama s quarterback Julian saian came to Ohio state was apparently

Because of his relationship with Bill O’Brien so what Fallout do you anticipate if any following his departure now yeah Emily I think there was some concern at Ohio State about that initially I think that’s been squashed at at this point they really like Julian saan and he feels like he’s in a good

Spot um and I think if you’re Aon Nolan the other quarterback in the class from what I’m told you should be a little bit concerned um now we haven’t even got to Spring ball yet so it’s a little crazy to talk about this almost as crazy as to

Talk about Chip Kelly being the offensive coordinator at Iowa but I digress but like seriously I’m hearing Julian saying saan is going to stay at Ohio State um I think it’s very likely he will you know get on the field this year and be a backup and will be the

Buckeye starter in 20125 that would be my projection so you know I mean stranger things have happened college football has never been uh in a crazier State than it is now but I’m here and Julian S is happy at Ohio State and the big reason is the coaches love him and

You know and Emily they wouldn’t have taken in my opinion you could say they would have taken Julian S no matter what if they were convinced Aon Nolan was the guy I don’t think they also would have went after Julian S and you’re right that was a big reason he came to Ohio

State was Bill O’Brien who recruited him to Alabama um but I think he’s happy with the the Chip Kelly hire and I think Julian Stan’s going to stick around yeah so as we read in to this loaded quarterback room and and what the new hire means who now stands out to you as

The probable starter since we are aware that Chip Kelly as of today will be the one hopefully calling the place yeah hopefully this isn’t a three- week uh gig for him if you’re an Ohio State fan no but I you know it seems like Chip Kelly I mean he signed a

Three-year contract I tend to think he’s going to stick around for a while as Brandon was talking about I tend to think that Chip Kelly is done being a head coach and just wants to be an offensive coordinator and have to deal with all the stuff that head coaches

Have to deal with but yeah Will Howard’s going to be the guy Emily I I can’t imagine that he would have come here he even talked about he could have went to Miami uh he could have gone to the draft he was told you anywhere between a third

Sixth round pick he got that invite to the Senior Bowl which was huge for him and he said that probably wasn’t was his backup plan if he didn’t go to Ohio State it probably would have been the NFL I think there’s no doubt will Howard

As a fifth year senior is going to be the Buckeye starting quarterback you know is he going to be um you know just a incredible college quarterback no I don’t think so but I think he’s going to be really good and he going to fit what Ohio State wants to do especially

Bringing in Chip Kelly now who uh you know Ryan day does a great job with the passing game and Chip Kelly has a lot of good run Concepts so I think it’s going to be will Howard No Doubt out this year and then look you know it’s going to be

Interesting to see what happens with the you know the the main backup gig there’s no doubt Emily there’s going to be guys that transfer I said guys at least one of these guys is going to transfer maybe two so I think it’s probably going to be will Howard definitely will Howard is a

Starter and then probably Julian saian as the top backup as a freshman true freshman the reason I say that is because I think Devin Brown will probably transfer after spring just a guess just a guess it is February uh but Dave we do need something to talk about

This time of year so we might as well speculate on what this quarterback room could look like but of course so many things are going to change over the next few uh months but one thing that’s not going to change is the offensive Firepower that Kelly now has to work

With you mentioned some of those run Concepts I look at the two guys coming back at the running back position he has had his fair share of success calling plays as well so when you marry the two things together what are expectations for this Ohio State offense very high skyh high they always

Have been during the Ryan day era and now you’ve got to think that that’s that’s even enhanced at this point bringing Chip Kelly in and with all the talent they have coming back I will say I mean their offensive line was wasn’t terrible this past year but it was

Substandard I would say you know it was substandard for a team that has National Championship aspirations and they are returning four starters they did bring in transfer Seth mcglaughlin from Alabama who’s going to be their Center I I feel like there’s still one offensive lineman away but to answer your question

With a Mecca abuka coming back trayon Henderson coming back then getting quinan Judkins in the transfer portal which to me is crazy they have both Henderson and Judkins getting will Howard and then Ryan day is known as a you know offensive Guru to bring in his

Mentor Chip Kelly yeah the and and all the other young receivers they have like Carnell tton and uh Jeremiah Smith and many more um you know expectations are through the roof on both sides of the ball but certainly on the offense you mentioned Ryan day and obviously his

Offensive prowess is uh is well known how do you anticipate that relationship working when you have a former sitting head coach and by former I mean like last week and Ryan Day how do you think their Dynamic working together will work it’s so interesting because they go way

Back and and it’s it’d be like having like your boss when you came up in the business then you become the boss and then he’s working for you or she’s working for you it it’s just cuz keep in mind when Ryan day was a quarterback at FCS New Hampshire his offensive

Coordinator was Chip Kelly and Ryan day is goes out out of his way to talk about how Chip Kelly was his mentor is his mentor and you know that he coached under chip kellot multiple stops in college two different stops in the NFL as well one year with the Eagles one

Year with the 49ers and again since he’s taken the job here at Ohio State he’s told us many times in the media Chip Kelly is my mentor so I find it highly interesting and you could look at that two ways Emily you could say you don’t

Want to hire too many people that are close to you um but you can say this is good for continuity they’re going to be on the same page and their offensive line coach Justin fry co-offensive coordinator worked under Chip Kelly at UCLA before he came to Ohio State so

We’ll see you could say too many uh buddies in the system or you could say a lot of good continuity there a lot of guys on the same page yeah should be an interesting uh Dynamic there and I can’t wait to Read All About It On bucknuts.com Dave thank you so much for

Being here as always you can check out his work right there bucknuts it is the place to be for all things Ohio State football recruiting check it out bucknuts.com hey the Super Bowl featured two three star quarterbacks as a refresher we rank 32 five stars to mimic

The 32 picks in the first round of the NFL draft four stars also players we think will be drafted one day so do those two signal callers signal an overemphasis on the importance of stars hm what a question and who better to ask then national college football writer

And co-host of the cover three podcast Bud Elliott uh Bud if the ultimate question is do stars matter what did the Super Bowl teach us last night I mean it it’s February 12th so let’s go ahead and have some fun with this and say that the Super Bowl definitively proves that

Stars don’t matter at all right like two three star quarterbacks did start the Super Bowl no look there are a ton of three stars out there and there are even more two star and unrated players you know who will go really low level or FCS

Or or D2 and it’s just math y’all like the law of large numbers says that a couple of these guys are going to rise up they’re going to outperform their recruiting ranking it is very possible to do so we do see it every year but the

Math also tells us that if you’re a four or five star player you’re about 25 times as likely to play in the Super Bowl as if you’re a three star two star or unrated player so I don’t know about y’all but I like being 25 times more

Likely to play in the Super Bowl than than not so I if I had to have my pick I would still rather have a four or five star but look guys do fall through the cracks I don’t think at 247 sports or any of the major Services out there that

Were really claim to be perfect and you know credit to Brock pie obviously momes we knew had some Elite tools you know he was also a baseball Prospect at the time I will give credit to you know scout.com which had him as a fourstar scout obviously folded into 247 Sports about a

Decade ago now so at least somebody saw him a lot and uh and had him as a fourstar but uh we we Scout traits and tools just as the NFL teams do and there were still questions about momes coming out I he wasn’t a top five pick he was

Somewhere in the teenss which seems Preposterous now after the guy’s won what three or four Super Bowls and and he’s he’s probably going to get another one in in short order I have to imagine before his career’s done maybe two more and yet there were still some questions

And he didn’t even start year one he was behind Alex Smith so think about it you throw for a you know zillion yards at Texas Tech the arm strength’s there the mobility is there and they like yeah I still got some questions I don’t know and that just I think related to the

Offense he was in at the time Mahomes was drafted we really had not seen prospects come out of that airr offense and have success we had seen a lot of failures though like Tim Couch at Kentucky who was drafted you know first over overall by the Browns about I don’t

Know 30 years ago now and you know just that system wasn’t translating so Mahomes and Goff are two of the first guys to kind of overcome that air raid system and succeed in the league so yeah we missed on it and that stinks I think

I’ still rather have the odds on my side yeah I mean if our director of scouting Andrew Evans was perfect on all of it I can’t say he’d be working for us he would be getting paid lots and lots of money to help uh out those NFL Scouts um

But yeah Patrick Mahomes was a three star he through the game-winning touchdown pass to a five-star in Miko Hartman so it all kind of balances out there uh we focus a lot on those four and those five stars and many people just assume that that means that ah

Three stars they’re no good so please clarify for us if 247 Sports ranks you a three star what are we saying about your projection at the next level sure so I three stars are actually decently likely to be drafted uh we we don’t put three star grades on prospects lightly there

Are not you know that many three stars are are certainly far fewer four and five stars it kind of you know pyramids up if you will but three stars are still highly coveted prospects that they’re they’re prospects who are you know likely going to get good looks from

Power five teams or are going to go to some pretty good group of five type teams so I know a lot of prospects out there probably look at like man you guys got me as a three star do you realize what the makeup of your high school team

Is three star very very likely is probably the highest rated Prospect On Any Given high school team with you know very few out there in the country so three star is not a bad grade at all and I I like that graphic but it also shows

The the need to balance your roster with Elite talents and then also some cheap talents because unlike college football in the NFL they have the salary cap so Kansas City used to be loaded with studs at the receiver position and then they had to pay Patrick Mahomes so they’re

Like all right we got to kind of just piece this thing together not with you know scrubs per se but guys who can come cheap maybe they have a flaw like Mico Harman was a five star you know what he hasn’t really panned out as a complete

Receiver but he still has that speed and that’s why Kansas City used him for that game-winning route last night that little return motion DB has to follow absolutely no chance that they’re going to have that recovery speed to get back out there with niicole and easy pickings

Yeah and he had that speed in high school as well which is why it’s all a projection um I I I predicted uh that this was going to happen my producer is asking you to hit that like button if you’ve not already but I’m sure that you

Have I hit it it’s very easy it just looks like a thumbs up go ahead uh but we’re going to continue our conversation because I love this little nugget the highest ranked quarterback prospect in the Super Bowl last night was the guy who threw the first touchdown pass of

The game and that was Niners wide receiver Jawan Jennings so with that as the backdrop what makes quarterbacks just so difficult to project to the next level so I it’s a great question but I I think it’s mostly because the things that are required of them at the next

Level are not things that they can always demonstrate either at all or demonstrate a Mastery of in high school right some of the mental processing stuff how do you play Under Pressure how do you play when the ball has to come out on time a lot of these guys just

Don’t have to demonstrate that in high school I do think UC recruiting rankings have a better hit rate on the positions that I would just call the the height weight speed position right those positions where purely on the measurables and on the production you can kind of see if it translates but not

Everybody has the ability to have the leadership qualities which is something that’s going to be you know kind of difficult to get age in high school at times the mental processing how do you handle under the pressure right can you operate an offense when you get to the

NFL I mean college is one thing but in the NFL there’s a lot put on these quarterbacks even these offenses where the media is going to claim hey it’s kind of spoonfed to the guy it’s still a lot more complicated a spoon fit NFL offense than anything you’re going to

Operate at the high school level and even if you’re really brainy almost certainly the rest of your teammates in high school are not so even if you could I guess in theory show that ability to have a Mastery of some super complex offense you just wouldn’t run that in

High school because you got guys on your team are are freshman and sophomores and they’re probably not going to be able to master that alongside you so yeah it is really tough you have to evaluate as best you can how they process I’ll give credit to Elite 11 you I’ve been doing

This for almost two decades now and Elite 11 used to be kind of stand there and throw and now at least they’ve made you throw on the move and try to have different challenges mentally and physically to try to more simulate what the modern game is requiring of prospect

Which I think helps but it’s it’s still a bit of a crapshoot yeah especially when it comes to manufacturing pressure I know you mentioned Elite 11 they do a lot to try to create that to see how these guys will uh will react under it

Um but man Brock py you talk about just being so calm cool and collected he had to be in a Super Bowl for you to realize that he is capable of that so it is a tough thing um to project but ultimately as I said at the beginning of this

Segment our projections are all based on the NFL draft and it’s coming up so what are are some important things to remember about high school projections as we head into draft season so high school projections actually transit to the NFL draft extremely well you are a lot more likely to be drafted and

Drafted highly if you were a four or five star player 247 Sports has been the most accurate recruiting service out there I believe six years running I always run the analysis but it’s free out there for everybody to to nitpick the methodology if you think I’m biased

Go ahead please do I’m pretty sure I’m not although I do work here uh so we’ve been most the most accurate I I’m I’m hoping that’ll be you know true again come this draft and I I like to dig into some of the stories too because I I’m

Kind of a perfectionist and I want to know why we missed on guys okay and sometimes it’s like you know what oh okay so this guy he grew three inches uh he only played one year high school football he was playing the tuba in the band for the first three years and he

Also put on 80 pounds of of good weight so you know what I’ll take that loss like that’s that’s that’s a fine Miss on a guy that you had unranked and we see that every year so I like those fun stories and then I also like the ones where it’s like

Yeah we we we knew that guy was probably a stud from the time we saw he was 14 it just one of those hey god-given talents if you just stay healthy you’re getting paid yeah I’ve I’ve talked to uh colleague Cooper pagna who’s part of our scouting team about this all the time

And he says yeah these the misses are what keep you up at night for sure and so uh it’s good that you go back and and evaluate but you’re right those numbers are available uh you’re not biased at all but uh we’re biased and we like to

Have you on the show to explain all of this to us but thank you so much for being here have a good one enjoy it we appreciate it you can check out the cover three podcast on YouTube and of course wherever you get your podcast I listen to all the episodes they are

Fantastic they will keep it rolling through the off season so you will be the smartest college football fan in your circle come the season which is so far away I’m going to try not to think about that all right we have turned the page to the 2025 class uh but a quick

Reminder how 2024 shook out Georgia finishing at the top you got Alabama Oregon my Miami Ohio State rounding out the top five a lot of SEC a lot of new sec in those rankings um but those are the team recruiting rankings but I want to know about the recruiter rankings the

Staff that put these classes together thankfully we have a guy who put that list together national college football writer Brad Crawford um Brad before we get into your list what’s the criteria for putting this together yeah you have to sign Elite prospects and a lot of these top 10 guys

Are coaching at programs under top 10 head coaches you’ve got guys who are help helping lead top 15 Elite programs that are already on the way too early top 25 list uh expanded college football playoff watch so there’s not a lot of uh names in here who are unknowns a lot of

These top 10 guys Emily we we’ve seen before over the last five or six years really recruiting at a high level for these top in programs I love it let’s go ahead let’s get into those rankings starting with number 10 Vince marrow the Kentucky assistant head coach if you look at kuy’s football

History there’s not many assistant coaches who have ever been credited with Landing five four stars in a single cycle that’s what Vince Marl has been able to do in this 2024 class his expertise is in Ohio a state that’s become a hot bed of sorts for the wild

Cats right now he is Mark st’s top assistant coach coming in at number nine you’ve got Joe Sloan who coaches LSU quarterbacks yeah Brian Kelly told Joe Sloan to go out and find him some plug-and-play potential freshman impact guys and I think he did that he delivered fourstar tight end tradez

Green safety desan McBride two guys who may start as true freshman Kelly being able to keep Joe Sloan on staff as quarterback’s coach this cycle was huge despite losing his OC Mike Den Brock Notre Dame and then Jaden Daniels going to the NFL so Joe Sloan not only is he

An elite recruiter and is our top 10 but he’s also one of the best quarterback coaches in college football heading into spring another Tigers coach coming in at number eight Frank Wilson who is the LSU assistant head coach yeah LSU is one of two programs in our top 10 Emily with

Two coaches who were top 10 recruiters this cycle so you know the tigers’s got a good class Frank is one of those you know nation’s most veteran recruiters he’s won more battles than you can count he’s responsible for nine SES this cycle highlighted by five-star pass rusher Dominique mckenley and four-star running

Back out of Texas Kaden Durham a guy that I think could really rise up the depth chart soon in Baton rou so Frank Wilson’s a guy who’s been around LSU a long time he’s one of Brian Kelly’s top assistants at number seven Trey Scott Georgia defensive line coach yeah

Currently Trey Scott is Kirby Smart’s best recruiter on staff since Fran Brown left for the Syracuse job back in December know Scott has done some really heavy lifting this cycle only four SES but all four are top 200 players according to our individual rankings at 247 Sports he also has a verbal

Commitment from five-star Justice Terry in next year’s class so Scott’s already doing what he does best in that next cycle at number six you got Junior Adams Oregon wide receivers coach yeah Oregon’s a program in the Big 10 now that’s going to challenge Ohio State in my opinion for top billing in recruiting

Every cycle these next couple years Dan Lanning several staffers who are relentless on the trail including this guy Junior Adams he and Tosh lupoy were responsible for more than half of this top five class Landing these guys so a junior Adams is a guy probably going to

Be a head coach soon but not in 2024 he stays on Oregon staff all right and number five Al Washington Notre Dame defensive line coach there is a reason Boston College interviewed and nearly hired Al Washington this cycle as the Eagles next head coach this man can sign top end

Talent he’s done at several Elite programs Ohio State now at Notre Dame and now serving under Marcus Freeman so I think Al wason’s a guy not only does he bring a Relentless mentality line of scrimmage but he can also sign guys at any position he finds at number four I

Know you know this name Jason Taylor Miami defensive line coach yeah former Dolphins pass rusher Hall of Famer he is is now Mario Chris Ball’s Ace in the Hole this cycle and I think it surprised many recruiting insiders because he was able to pull Chicago five-star Justin Scott after he

Flipped from Ohio State Before Christmas Jason Taylor is a rising star and he’s now in our top five for 2024 and at number three Marcus Davis Auburn wide receivers coach yet another white out coach who excelled this cycle Marcus Davis at Auburn this wide receiver room did not produce at the level

Necessary to win big last season and Hugh F’s first season Marcus Davis is doing what he can to change that cam Coleman five star Perry Thompson high-end fourstar guy both those wide outs have chance to be freshman starters on the planes Davis identified those guys early he got him signed and now

Auburn’s wide receiver room looks like one of the sec’s best all right at number two hullman Wiggins Alabama wide receivers coach is what you nominated him for but now he is the cooc at Texas A&M I know Mike Elco is thanking his lucky stars right now for getting home

In Wiggins yeah he’s he’s responsible for a third of Alabama’s number two class overall this cycle if I’m one of the agest receivers in that room in College Station I’m super excited about my coach based on what Wiggins was able to do in Tuscaloosa with guys like Jaylen Wadd Devonte Smith Jerry Judy

Jameson Williams homman Wiggins he can recruit him and he can develop them and at number one Fran Brown georg’s DB’s coach who is now the head coach at Syracuse yeah Fran helped the dog secure several top rated players this cycle five-star Ellis Robinson festar Justin Williams five star KJ Balden flip from

Florida State when Brown is in on a player you want it’s going to be very hard to beat him on Signing Day for a commitment all right let’s talk about some of these guys I’m going to be devil’s advocate here Fran Brown he had the luxury of pointing to the scoreboard

While he was recruiting for the dogs so how do you think his recruiting chops will translate to sah use if I’m a Syracuse fan right now I’m extremely excited to see what brown can do I mean the orange are one of the acc’s mid-level recruiters historically

As a program but when you’re able to go out and pluck the number one recruiter in college football and hire him as your new head coach the turnaround is going to be quick he already signed Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord out of the portal that was huge he did that his

First few weeks on the job now there are two vital factors here I think for Fran Brown that he needs to sort of address and year one and that’s determine what Syracuse’s nil strengths are up North and then his ability to kind of get these high level guys that may slip

Through the cracks and not get the Georgia Alabama LSU offers in the South Fran Brown he was an assistant under the Kirby Smart several years he obviously knows the uh fertile recruiting areas in the South so I think he’ll be able to get some high-end guys at Syracuse okay

Real quick here I I noticed every team represented among this top 10 has a top 10 recruiting class except for Kentucky the cats finished at 25 last year so if the rankings don’t necessarily tell the story of maro’s impact what makes the case for him being on this

List his biggest strength is he’s one of the sec’s longest tendered assistants haven’t been in Kentucky since 2013 and not only is he Mark st’s most vital recruiter but he’s a huge f a huge part Emily of that physical mentality at the line of scrimmage that ky’s been able to

Do these last few years couple eight- win seasons has a 10- win season Vince marrow has made Ohio his sort of hot recruiting ground there and I mean he signed a handful of four-star guys like I said and no Kentucky assistant has ever been able to do that I love it Brad

Thank you so much for being here you can check out his story on 247 sports.com that is the place to be thanks so much for joining us this was the college football recruiting show

  1. I need the misses in writing and published like Kyle Hamilton ☘️☘️ and ESPN tried to double down in the NFL mock draft coverage especially after the combine

  2. It’s obvious your top 32 is a lot of confirmation bias. I know it isn’t good for your product but the false narrative actually helps certain schools.
