The Riviera Country Club will once again play host to the PGA TOUR’s best as The Genesis Invitational tees off this week. The Genesis Invitational is the first of three player-hosted invitationals (along with the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard and Jack Nicklaus’ Memorial Tournament presented by Workday). Tiger Woods is the host this week but will also be in the field. This will be his first start since the Masters Tournament in 2023 – where he withdrew after the third round. Last season’s Genesis Invitational was his last full four-round effort on the PGA TOUR before injury. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler returns to action after a strong finish in last week’s WM Phoenix Open. He claimed T3 in his attempt to become the first player to three-peat on the PGA TOUR since Steve Stricker in 2009-11. Scheffler finished 12th at The Genesis last season. Rory McIlroy is set to make just his second TOUR start in 2024 after a T66 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. This will be McIlroy’s eighth start at Riviera. He finished 29th last season and claimed a career-best of fourth at Riviera in 2019. Others to look out for are Viktor Hovland, Max Homa, Justin Thomas and Xander Schauffele.

Itude eighth in the world currently looks like he came over the top of that one it’s going left all right after the errand drive at the first H looks like a pretty good lie it matter have down with Gallery is 220 that’ll be a difficult up and down

Sure will well over the green pitching over the the Brows of the slope yeah I’m not sure that Scotty’s got The Yips but he he’s certainly not making very often yeah true max Homer full swing and that’s probably about as good as he could do

Craig yeah I agree he landed it in the ideal spot all right Max for his birdie to get the plus one at the first that’s a heck of a four from where he drove it and his second impeccable lines the golf swing likes to hit the cut he said Joey

Gro cion allows him a hit a couple of hooks a year no need to hit hooks around here this is a faders paradise flag may all right Max Homa Fairway at the third just 24 and exquisite on a dive solid stroke not too happy from 115 yards out

Maxom for birdie three back at the eight good for Speed really good good for line you can see how all of his lines are pointed in the same direction shoulders hips and feet not much can go wrong when you start in that position I’ve seen Max a couple of times this

Season found the left edge of the Fairway really a good swing tell you what he looks do in today doesn’t he mhm just going to have another good look at birdie here downhill left to right slider have to respect the speed no speed there the hole got in the way

It’s a thing of beauty ready with six PGA Tour wins but he says the biggest moment of his career came on this whole sudden death playoff three years ago that he won I got a feeling D today’s going to be a good day wait you mean right here on this shot no sun’s

Out course is ready it’s another good one an ace there already today zot Tores just a hair of left to ride in it putting down the hill does he have that thing going today or what you got to credit him yesterday Terry remember he just hung in he hardly

Had a birdie pu he just gritted it all the way to the clubhouse you know that’s the stuff you work with your sports psychologists on you got to you just got to play your own game doesn’t really matter what they’re doing it’s hard to do you get you get

Out there and you get watching a little bit sometimes like everybody else does it’s impressive to watch we’re ready to go with the seconds and it does appear like there’s a little bit more wind picking up than we’ve seen most of the day the tricky part about this shot

Coming in you do have to work it in from right to left a little bit get it around those trees that kind of overhang the left hand side of this Fairway but he won’t be in the field anymore oh that was pretty f for matx

H H this put’s just going to break a little bit to his right right through the shadow of his cap oh yes how about that up and down that was impressive I was going to say he might have been watching Rory’s putt that’s the far left edge of the Fairway when you’re looking

Up on this hole so guys are trying to start it somewhere around that concrete backyard and work it off of there we just have two beauties right there TR Trace represented by trackman high into the air see some great shots here at 18 that nearly goes in

Thanks for watching the PJ Tour on YouTube watch another video right here
