[Applause] so two weeks ago I was sent a set of Rons and I’ve been so looking forward to testing these but I went to Pakistan so I’ve been like dying to testing but I’m back and James Robinson’s going to join us for a little fre Vlog where we’re

Going to talk about these Cali 01 te irons with graphite shaft yeah I love the look of these so they’re are Hollow bolid hollowed what what’s it Bollywood they’re a holly Bollywood no they’re a hollow caved iron with a graphite shaft James the reason I’ve got these is

Because custom Fitters are saying in 10 years time we’ll all be using graphite shafts in as irons yeah and I think you look at how graphitees come on Leaps and Bounds anyway hasn’t it in the last 10 years so you can only imagine we sat

With um a guy from a very highend I’m not want to say the brand but we sat with a guy from very high-end graphite company out in Orlando and he was talking about how they’ve totally changed the machines on how they make the shafts and how they can now make

Much better quality much stronger shafts and the might cost a little bit more now you would hope that that can kind of ciple down into more affordable products Yeah the more they start to sell them the more in Mass they’re making them the price will come down a little bit yeah

Right so we’re going to have a match we’re starting on this par three a little three match um we did have a match on your channel we did where we discussed seign and we played with them so go and watch that one as well a lot

Of fun um I got the honor yeah I’ll let you take the honor be the guest what you eting wedge I’ve got wedge it’s 130 isn’t it yeah the one thing I found having hit these already is short iron wise may be a little bit harder to get the shots you

Want if you’re trying to play a half shot yeah but this is a full one so we should be golden L good shot well done be okay so that combination of graphite and a hollow bodied head it’s a crazy combination for distance but like James has just said in

A short R when you want to control that distance back to front distance isn’t as tight as you know if you had a cavity back Ed so it might be that you have to get more Fuller shots probably put a gap wedge in this set if I were ordering

Them again would you go steal sorry to interrupt would you go steel shafted heavy gap wedge so you have the best of both worlds there I don’t know I’ve not experimented enough with graphite so I think my first inclination would be just to put a matching one in STI stick with

Graphite just stick with graphite and a matching head so you keep that gpp in consistent be the club interesting how the winds absolutely crucify both of those in the air it’s moved it not a lot of wind there either right two decent shots guys I’m

Still using the K and ball and you know what I think I’m going to swap it after this crapping it that’s pretty much what James summarized it as look Spade’s a spade and it’s it’s just not very good yeah do you know what there’s one thing about us

We’re not scared to sell when suit is crap the numbers were great um numbers aren’t like the be on end all though are they but yeah exactly you still need to go and try the ball on the course and that’s where we probably got a bit too

Excited with K and we look obsessed with numbers how were those balls you know the ones that were a bit of a ripoff of these stries well again it weren’t a ball we actually ever tested on the course it was just numbers and we didn’t like the numbers some so we never took

It to course you still got any of that um I have yeah I’ll drop from you down right we’ve got to stay for we’re having some good battles this year we’re both playing good goal should we talk about the 50 yards or not no we we’ll not we

Not mention that let’s not until you put 50 yards on me I’m bringing it up in every video we Do it’s it it’s a great P but it’s not 50 hours is It oh thought you got it am I in Dr yeah oh he’s going for it I’m one down I’m one down oh would why would you not well I think I’m after it driving now oh it’s an i and only video spell isn’t it he’s going to get me IR then he’s going

To pull driver out and knock it on I know he’s like I’m going to e iron cuz I think it’s only fair cuz these are probably my favorite long irons cuz I mean like when we’ve miss it them off the tea on james’ Channel with long and it’s still flown

When we’ve miss it then you miss it a couple as well because they’re Hollow bodied like they’re just so powerful across the entire face can we talk about my Stinger not going to hit as tight a line as I did last time hit it wind that is a really good strike that’s

Gone miles that that one were a good strike nice big high fade that does look some Club don’t it I’ve not tried it yet I would hit driver here normally just so you know oh that looks sexual we’re talking about his driver not him that’s nasty shot miss it Miss the

Bunker yeah that’s gone miles a it they give you the confidence don’t they to hit it oh yeah and they feel great to be fair feel really good so one of the things we were saying about these irons for sort of 549 I mean you can get them cheaper with

Steel shafts but for 549 you can sort of get a bit of a calculated custom fit so you know you can you know take some measurements or speak to the guys and they’ll sort of recommend you know basic shaft length shaft Flex grip thickness that kind of stuff when we were kids

There were none of that none of this well if you went for Budget IR when you were a kid you lost all that quality of engineering crap were crap just absolute copies and crap but these days there’s a lot of Brands now is’t there you mentioned a few earlier yeah yeah I mean

We’ve done a lot of work with the guys at Tacomo I’ve done a lot of testing with the Kirkland ions which are like big news at the moment because the lawsuit with Taylor Made now in my opinion tailor made aren’t filing that lawsuit if it’s a bad product cuz they

Let the product speak for itself the lawsuit is almost a little bit of a oh a bit worried about this let’s try keep B I think it’s probably backfired but when I actually unbox these in my kitchen I cannot but but you know tell you how impressed I were with the engineering

He’s laughing because I can’t get a word out today I don’t know what’s up with me no more but what part of the kitchen were you in why does it matter on on the island why cuz AC men you where a were when I unboxed them I actually took some photos at

Kitchen that’s why I dropped it in but honestly I was just so impressed with just little stuff do you know like how perfect the puzzle and the club connect and obviously quality when it’s and like I’m the saying when I look at these and look at the tacos and look at I keep

Saying the Kirkland and like I look at clubs like say if you go on Amazon you buy some Rams for a similar price sometimes they’re like terrible aren’t they like you said the ferals don’t match up and I’m not I’m not going to even deny it I’m a snob when it comes to

Golf clubs you know i’ I’ve not often gone off at Big Brands because I do like to guarantee that I’ve got a good qu also I’m going to stand up for you here and say it’s your job yeah so why would you use something that’s not of a great

Quality yeah if you’re a driving instructor you would’t go and buy Robin Reliant would you no maybe you would I don’t know but we can talk wax lyrical about how good the long irons are yeah I don’t want to hit the pitching wedge here cuz I don’t feel like I have the

Control I’ve got my 50° out so now I’ve got where was I earlier I was there wasn’t I I know I’ve got 100 yards tried to play 100 yard shot earlier and it’s gone 130 yeah so that’s where you kind of can I use this or mean to use the no

You’re all right you use that we did say like obviously if you bought this set you better off putting a gat wedge in there they’re not they’re not perfect for it in half shots and I think that’s probably mainly down to this the club not being for us

Particularly great shot that sort of hollow bodied head and I think that’s gone long as well graphite combination he’s more like for that person that swings a little bit slower that’s wanting to get distance from the clubs yeah which in particular yours maybe I’m just not not with it today from 100 yards

75 what you got I’ve got 58 cuz it’s just over the back of that bunker it’s a tough flag to get isn’t it but one of the things we’ve sort of not even spoke about today is these are graphite irons and so far we’ve played these graphite

Irons and we can’t even tell the graphite in terms of performance so much yeah would you agree with that no I agree I think feel wise especially more so in the Longs you can feel it in the short ANS because of the weight the 65 gr it’s like usually we’re going to be

Using around 100 gr shaft maybe a 110 yeah I think mine are actually 120 my KBS is in here yeah 120 is that in the bunk no it’s a great shot I think I’m going to leave that K someone to find uh leave it in please I feel like I need this

Guys well I don’t know I mean I’ve been putting decent steady oh wow oh I thought you got it great put it’s a good put it’s a better put than what I’ve been doing today it’s good I’ve got a line can I commit to it

How do you want it I’ll leave it in this time I think for no reason at all got it again unal if David Maguire’s watching stop trying to change me grip because it’s working James if d m is watching I do I don’t see any for ages I

Hope you’re well we might as well call it aren’t we we’ve want a par three to do some double or quits double or quits call it I going to takech Wi finish him so double O quakes we going to give him a chance to come back

He’s going probably beat me now he loves this all let’s have a look what we’ve got 158 playing 165 no playing 160 yeah you’re not wrong what are you itting seven8 oh oh it’s not cut has it twice I’ve done that that is absolutely dead as a door

Knob isn’t it well it’s not your best it’s not a bad shot it’s the same as what it is it’s the same as what I did off the tea back there just pulled it a bit and you still get the strike with these cuz they’re Hollow boded but the

They massively go uh keep going I do enjoy hitting them though I’m going to hit another one just for a bit of fun not one of these terrible balls come on guys that’s easy they’re doing exactly the same no that’s perfect that’s perfect in what world is that perfect that’s green

That’s front at Green I do like how would you conclude on these IR then come on good I think for enjoyment Factor they’re really good I think for 90 of golfers who don’t really worry about that 100 yarding with a full shot cuz you’re going to have a

Wedge for it anyway great I’m going to conclude by saying if you get these Hollow bodied irons and you swing at speeds like me and James I Reon I swing my about 90 92 miles an hour you think that’s about right what one some string no I mean I think you should

Stick with steel I think I think that it definitely H head I think there’s definitely benefits cuz if you can go heavier graphite yeah then you’re all right you want to go too heavy in it I think 65 is probably just a little bit I

Think if I was going to go Hollow head sorry if I going to go graphite shaft i’ be looking looking at something like you got either an MB or a CB potentially yeah yeah and then but again the fitting process is important so it’s not just

Hitting shots and being like call me 79 go now goes 170 instead of 160 it’s getting on the on the golf Z or on whatever and going right I’ve got a pitching wedge can I hit it through the flight window I want 200 yards 220 yards

And then can I hit it full the distance gapping as well has not caused me as much of a problem as James because I attend to it full charts you’re not an artist are you I’m not an arst he feels a lot of shots and he like to hit these

Feeler shots and it don’t work for him but if you hit full shots like me it’s not really caused me a problem i’ just s a gap W it hasn’t worked for him he says I think I think that come on I let you clean that with your non towel James

It’s been a pleasure what about what double equ quits oh so it’s not nearest the p is it egg we’re playing a match mate I think he’s making it up till he wins playing till I win 79 did well you’re two down so how can you win we said double or quits all

You agreed to that last so you’re going to chip in yeah this is like the hardest Chip Shot ever if you slam D this I’m packing YouTub in oh what are you going to do for a job I don’t know I’ll think about it after back back yeah oh well

Played getting it we’ll see the put and then we’ll he’s still having it he still wants it do he he knows he can knock that in you see got to put this stiff just to put it to bed it’s short he’s even more bit now cuz he video have got close he

Knows well play it guys that were the C 01t irons which if you’ve not heard of C go and check them out they’ve got some fantastic golf clubs at a reasonable price and well engineered as well if there wasn’t well engineered they won’t be on this channel

And I can assure you that but I was so impressed when we unboxed know cuz those balls we tested are terrible well the numbers were good so they got onto the channel at least uh they have to be good for numbers and good for engineering to get on but yeah I think they’re

Definitely worth having a look at not only this brand but other brands now in that market you know there’ll be videos out there that you can watch because the engineering of these sort of like mid-priced irons are getting so good you don’t have to stick to your major brands

Anymore and the components as well no I mean these are in your top you know clubs aren’t they or your top price clubs should we say Not Top clubs so yeah right to that jam we’re going to breakfast double Quakes thanks for watching guys make sure you

Subscribed and go and check out the two videos we’ve just done on James’s Channel guys they’re gone they’re gone they’re not they’re still watching and we’ll see you in a couple of days time bye

  1. Hi Gary, what didnt you like about the Cainton balls on the course, was it feel or performance. They looked better than the Prov Vs on the indoor data. Cheers

  2. Thanks for trying out the clubs Gary – delighted to hear your positive feedback. We are going to start offering a set Gap Wedge in future based on your suggestion. Many thanks, Ryan

  3. I would take a look at the MMT or Axiom graphite shafts Gaz both come in 105 & 125 gram options , might be worth a video with Sam

  4. Been using graphite shafts for a good few years and improved my golf game not a fan of caley though as no left handed clubs

  5. I’ve got graphite shafts in my Mizuno irons for no additional cost, lightweight and high launch and in my Cleveland wedges, love them

  6. Good to see you beating James, with your game trending in the right direction, which James will not like. He will be practising the part of his game that is losing him your short matches. That or he will nobble you some other way, by setting up matches that suit him, getting you to play with gear that simply does not suit you. Must say, James is good at playing with anything, he can adapt his swing easier than you Gary. But there again you are much taller, harder to fit into the Mr Average bracket of clubs. (Sorry James)😅😂😅🤣

  7. I've been playing graphite shafted irons since I started playing. I don't play often, mind. But having tried both, I much prefer the feel of graphite.

I guess being from a multi-sport background i've always subscribed to the thought that graphite is the latest/greatest material. Graphite tennis rackets for example. It didn't work in snooker (although you can still get them)! Racket sports is where they're mainly used..

Carbon Fibre will be next. I'm sort of surprised with how fast that material is developing, how it's not in golf yet. But then I see how many people hate even the smallest of changes in the sport then I understand why.. lol

  8. Another hammering for Robinson, great golf again Gaz, totally out played him.
Double or quits sounds like someone who's desperate 😢. Also I think you would take someone out for a driving test in a reliant robin, being a Yorkshire man you'd have one less tyre to buy for the MOT 😊.

  9. Nice win, Again lol.
I just changed my graphite shafts back to steel KBS, same as you said, no feeling for the shorter shots and full swings tended to go left.

  10. I love the….difficult to judge half shots…comments! When asked, what are your thoughts, on this shot? The answer is…I just hope I hit the green! When I started playing, we had a choice of pitching wedge and sand iron, so it was a case of going up and down the grip and opening or closing the face!
