Um I’m really excited this is my first year on the ladies European tour um so I’m really excited to get the ball rolling pretty special to get to start in Kenia so yeah just overall really happy and excited to get the year going yeah so I am originally from Texas but

With roots in Uganda my whole fames from there both sides I’m the youngest of three kids um an older brother an older sister um and I started playing golf you know my my dad played and I just wanted to follow him and my sister started playing and I wanted to do everything

She was doing so so I started playing when I was about 9 and just really fell in love with it um was really blessed it opened up a lot of doors and gave me a lot of opportunities um I played in college at the University of Alabama and

Then was lucky enough to continue my golfing career after that um I spent my early golfing years at a facility called the first tea in Houston it’s this um really cool organization that’s kids focused and kids centered and they had a lot of opportunities for young people

And and a very diverse group of young people playing and it really helped me cultivate my competitiveness in this game and and just opened up the door to have like so many friendships learned so many lessons um while playing golf this being the first event it’s a little

Different mentally you know you try to do everything you can to just prepare yourself a new season and then um first event you just kind of trying to get your feet wet and see how it goes um physically you know this offseason I tried to do a little bit more in the gym

With my coaches um they really wanted me to focus on getting stronger and and getting my body to move a little bit better my golf swing so there was a lot of intentional practice both on the course and in the gym this year uh I

Guess it’s a it’s really cool but I wish there was more I mean especially starting in Kenya I think um you guys are I lion and just like the Kenyan Golf Association I know has done a really good job in the past few years trying to develop Junior golfers um and so I’m

Hoping you know in a few years he I won’t be the only one I know there’s a couple players out here um like Naomi and then Chanel who’s I think a bit younger but um I know they’re they’re really improving and they they’ve got the game Destiny to be out here so

Hopefully it’s not just me um next year yeah I think um just remember to cultivate your love for the game um enjoy it it’s it’s it is a game so just have fun while you’re out there and have fun in the process of getting better um

I think overall I mean golf is a sport where you’ll have so many opportunities and it and it helps you no matter where you go so just just keep enjoying it oh my favorite golf course I’ve played a few I mean this one uh the pink goes

Pretty cool you’ve got the ocean views um and you’ve got like zebras and giraffes running around so that’s definitely a new experience and something I haven’t seen before so this is probably one at the top of my list and then I think stage side I’ve you know I’ve been lucky enough to play

Pebble and courses like that and those are always just really neat experiences with all the golf history they have um I use tius golf balls and then I have a mixture of tiess golf clubs and a few others yeah I think you know they’re already supporting um girls so much in

Kenya and I think just continuing to cultivate uh good junior golf programs and having um companies like like you guys um continuing to Aid in those programs as well I think is such a great start I mean the biggest thing is giving people access and giving people

Opportunity and as to keep doing that and like having events like this where girls get to play and they get to see kind of where their game is and what they need to do to get to the next level I think it’s such a big component of

Getting people to The Next Step um I think you know this year going in um I wanted to be really intentional in the off season and then just getting season started I obviously you want to see the work you’ve done pay off but I think just taking it and stride and taking

Little steps at a time um focusing on the little things and then hopefully you know getting a few wins here and then both on state side as well and you know just seeing my game continue to improve
