Hi guys J Smith here welcome to golf from that channel and welcome to part two kind of or actually might be part three because I’ve done one other video but anyway the 11 hybrids from 11 well they hybrids which are irons irons which are they’re hybrids guys but they go

Down to a ridiculous mounts of Loft so I’ve got this in the seven I’ve also got five two pitching wedge in my yeah I have got pitching wedge that’s a 43° so I’ve already done a video full video review of these when it comes to Tech

And all that lot guys if you want to go and have a look at that one pop up there little info card if you want to and if you’re not watching on mobile devices or something like that you can go down on my channel listing and find it down

There obviously watch that one but pop back to this one afterwards so this one’s going to be directed as to how easy they are to use now I call I’m a blade player so I look at these and these are massive so when he comes down

The golf ball on this one you look at it and you think this is so easy to hit you can hit it anywhere there you go low heel doesn’t matter it’s going to make it there you go y this is 165 Ys over a massive

Pond so you got to make sure you get it over there and yep 8 mil low 8 mil heel not very good on a golf club ever low heel but it’s fine it’s going to get over there no watch whatsoever um my normal carry for a 79 is around about

164 yards so this one 165 this is right on the end of my I’m comfortable with this and especially going over a big old Lake you can understand you can get worried now when it comes to a blade which I play you cannot get any

Different to this now a blade has got a tiny thin Top Line it’s got a tiny thin sole blade links are tiny and they are cro Well mine’s Chrome anyway I love Chrome so this thing you cannot get any further away from a blade it’s uh a

Fairly thick Top Line it’s a hybrid the sole thickness is um meaty and well the blade lengths yeah let’s not get on the blade lengths it’s a hybrid but it’s just so easy to hit now really even players at my level really should use something like this because it makes

Golf just so much easier you haven’t got to worry so much about strike strike okay does it make you a better ball Striker using one of these probably not but then golf is for having fun and I must admit using these golf is I suppose

It’s more fun um but I like blades so I can understand why people yeah but they should so the whole idea of this video is basically to show you how easy these are to use now I’ve got a resident 22 handicapper easy over um 22 handicapper

With a s not a slice an exuberant fate we’ll call it yep exuberant fate he has a ballf flight which is shall we say not exactly what you call uh the most efficient in the world and so when it comes to Matt when it comes to him doing

Gap tests and stuff like that there is a lot of golf clubs which basically blend into each other so he’s got very poor control over distance there’s a lot of times that he 79 goes as far as his 99 and things like that subject to how he

Wants to cut the golf ball and also subject to where he wants to hit it on the face and so the conversation happened well have you thought about trying something a little bit more helpful and so he went from his custom fit got when okay custom fit that was

Custom fit 2018 I think it was so about 6 years ago um so they are getting on now so that’s why they open the conversation about equipment so I just put these in his hand and effectively he hit his five to pitching wedge I think

He’s got four iron as well and stuff so he didn’t use that cuz I’ve got four a five to pitching wedge here so the whole idea I said to him right you cap we’ll do a gap test and you can hit shots with your golf clubs five to pitch in wedge

And then what we’ll do we’ll swap over for these things again these are not custom fit for him at all and what you can do that’s going to hit the green even though that’s terrible um you can if you want to get a gap test on these that was so bad that

Delivery I can I’ll show you down the bottom there there’s no point get on the screen you can see it by the bottom Club PA across face open not very good however on the green no worries whatsoever how far am I from the hole

Does it say n yards 27 ft There You Go part for birdie so I put these in his hands and I sort of said let’s do a gap test on these now this has got a KBS uh tall graphite iron 70 regular shaft his is a steel and so of course he’s going

From something six years old to something which is effectively brand new but completely different when it comes to his is an iron obviously and this is a hybrid we go over to the computer to show you just how much difference going to a non-custom fit something that I’ve

Just given him but it’s a hybrid and so much more helpful iron hybrid iron which is you can’t the idea how much more helpful it is for him a that’s a poor one look at that who cares hi toe it’s uh left Edge it’s on I’m not worried at all about the drink

Just not what we got there Club half across he hey that’s me at the moment and yeah just again if you are someone who hits the ground a little bit early before the golf ball this so is so big you’re going to have so much resistance

So much more than you are going to have your iron you hit the ground first with an iron obviously a relative sole plate not this big um it will dig where this one will resist and then you’ll be in a situation where again more forgiving

Right one more go let’s see if I can get somewhere close to the pin no face open doesn’t really matter that’s getting overa I’m not worried in the slightest about it it’s so much more easy to use a hybrid over than that than an N especially my blades but then again

I suppose if I was hitting blades I’d pay much much more attention than I am right let’s go to the PC let’s show you how 22 handicapper with an exuberant fade got on when he done a gap test of his normal irons we’ll get the information from that and see how we

Performed see what the overlaps are on the irons and then the information that we gained from popping something which is massively different the hybrid heads non-custom fit just the ones that I’ve got here put me his and see just how well they did time to go see how these 11 hybrids has helped

Our amazing 22 heavy fading handicapper uh when it comes to his Gap test now the interesting thing obviously this was never supposed to be a video this was originally going to be a session with a 22 handicapper and it then kind of migrated into what we see

Here so that’s the reason why we haven’t got the individual on camera cuz it was never supposed to be a camera session and then also not everybody wants to be on camera for for everybody to critique all their weird and wonderful shots like YouTube does although YouTube is a bit

Better than Facebook and you kind get the idea anyway so I’m going to put all the information on the screen now the difference is by club by club by Club so you can see the benefits to using these 11 hybrids and bear in mind again these

Are not custom fit for him so the information you can see straight away you’ve got your ball speed launch angle spin rates and stuff like that the main thing that I want to show you more anything else like that is the carry um and the offline keep an eye on the peak

Height to Center angles obviously yes but the main thing I want to show you is not only the carry gain and again the carry gain is because of the hybrids are stronger lofted than his semi- traditionally lofted isons remember his golf clubs are six years old now so yeah they are not everything

Moves on should we say but the main thing I want to show you more than anything else is the standard deviation the black number underneath all the yardages ETC and that is a measure of variance so the smaller the number the smaller the variance so if you see a

Carry distance and you can see there 77 to 88 so there is 11 yard game with the pitching wedge of the 11 hybrid over his one however obviously not all things are made equal and yes the pitch and wedge is slightly stronger than his pitch and

Wedge so therefore you’ll see a gain in distance again you’re going to Mish hit also an iron to a hybrid a hybrid is more forgiving and so it’ll hit the number more often anyway so there’s a certain portion of that as well but the main thing I want to show you is the

Standard deviation number so the measure VAR 77 and three against 88 and two so not only is he hitting it 11 yards longer but he is closer front to back to that yardage and if you look at offline he has 4.6 left against 0.8 yards so

He’s closer to Target I mean it’s only what three and a bit yards I’m not going to get excited over three and a bit yards um and you can see the offline amount is basically exactly the same So within reason when you have so much loft and you’ve got someone who heavy Fades

Um they have a tendency to pull their um lower IR again I won’t go into D plane but we can go into it later doesn’t matter different video so let’s go to the nine iron and hybrid now to show you the difference 88 99 there you go

There’s the same difference that we saw in the pitch and wedge why because there’s less Loft on the hybrid so you got 88 and 8 and 99 and four so he is twice as accurate front to back 11 yards longer than his equal or not equal Club

Equal numbered Golf Club he’s offline by 2.7 yards and 5.3 against 2.1 yards and 3.6 again he is closer not only front to back but he’s also closer left and right his offline amount with the hybrid go to the AI now you’ve got 105 to 110 now

This is the one that I did say there was a slight difference with his a was hitting his eight iron slightly too far and again I haven’t actually tested The Lofts on his now of course 6 years old and he hasn’t had them Loft checked in 6

Years so the chances are there might be if he uses the eighton a lot for his practice and he whacks it into a mat constantly that the um eighton could have tweaked in Loft Wing again that’s so but if you look at 105 to 60 and three again the hybrid is twice as

Accurate front to back than his own Iron uh 2.2 yards offline with 9.3 left and right and one yard offline and 4 and a half left and right so again he’s twice as accurate not only front to back but he’s now twice as accurate left to right because of the more forgiving hybrid

Head when you miss hit and it goes offline you get away with so much more when you’re using a hybrid head go to the next screen you’ve got the difference in the 7even iron across you got 122 and 113 there’s the difference again 113 and 7 and 122 and 4 again he

Is tighter front to back in the hybrid which is not custom fit for him than his own golf club and it’s going further against 2.2 yards uh offline and 7.7 against half yard offline and five so the gain is not quite as much but he is

Still tighter left to right on a hybrid than then is his own golf club and I’ll stick the dispersion rings in a minute so you can actually physically see the differences because it is very much more surprising When You See It visually than you do just in taba data like this uh 6

I now we got 123 and 8 133 and three don’t need to explain this anymore that’s a win and a half um you’ve got offline of 4.9 and 6.3 and offline 0.8 and 5.9 not so much a massive game when it comes to left and right on his six L

But he’s distinctly obviously front to back and he is closer to Target okay we are talking 4.1 yards but a is a game um the only thing I would say go to the five iron now and the five hybrid this is where I would say that this is where

We need to be a bit careful 132 to 144 again we’ve got a win when it comes to the hybrids of course you you’re going to be especially as soon as you start taking Loft off and strike becomes a little bit more varied then going to the hybrid head you are automatically going

To win hand over fist when it comes to this but I will be wary of anything like cuz he’s not the most exuberant of speed should we say swing speed players he is in the 70s with his seven IRS Etc so it is one of those ones with a exuberant fade that

He’s got he is not the most efficient in the world and of course he Hees to have lessons as well not only the change of golf equipment but then lessons as well the gains would be mental but this is where I would say you’ve got to be open

About this 32 and six 144 yards gain of 12 yards and three again he is twice as accurate front to back with the hybrid than he is his own ir and if you look at this spian um zero offline to actually three yards right off line so actually

Slightly more offline with the hybrid but look at the deviation 9.3 to 4.8 again he’s twice as accurate left to right with the hybrid but look at the uh Peak height descent angles I’m a great believer fan of trying to give you as much functionality into the green as

Possible and that means it’s got to be coming in with an angle that when it hits the green it’s got some chance of stopping and I would say anything under 40° you are in the lap of the Gods depending on uh if it’s winter Gulf and

Stuff like that yes it will still stop but if you’re playing in the summertime uh you need as much descent angle as you possibly can do to try and give that ball chance to stop when it hits the putting surface and the five hybrid goes

38.8 so 39° against his 42 now of course we are talking about a 12 yard gain and so even so and he’s more accurate I would absolutely at this point if he was to go into the hybrids I’d say the sixth hybrid is his last hybrid and then after

That he needs to go into something like a full-on hybrid a full-on hybrid with a longer shaft longer shaft which means faster Club head speed faster clubhead speed which means ball speed and you possibly will need to add a bit of Loft on that as well and then you would get

That gain back you’d get that 145 yard carryer or whatever it would be um and then you would also gain the peak height and the center angle and then you’d kind of go on of course there’s going to be always a limit where you can’t go

Anymore I mean you go into Fairy Woods after that which will give you even more help getting the gold ball up in the air but okay there’s a limit to everything so let’s show you the dispersion Rings because this is the important bit this

Is the uh the visual bit so you can see and as you can see on the screen this is his information it is very blurred this is common this is absolutely common on a um a gap test you see this well you don’t see it but I’ve seen this every

Day of the week the blurring of all the the bands all the dispersion rings and so you can see there are segregations to it they do go different distances which is good it’s just a case of just picking on the say the seven on the cyan one in

The middle of that group you can see that the best one of the seven irons touches the worst ones of the five and also within the same 7 ion the worst ones of the 7 ion nearly touches the best ones of the nine ion so you’ve got

One Golf Club there which spans 17 iron spans 9 8 iron 7on 6 iron and five iron in one golf club because you’ve got variance and this is the problem when it comes to you guys understanding how far you hit it and how consistent you are at

Hitting your shots let’s go over to the 11 hybrids and instantly you can see difference now I have zoomed this in because thank you to foresight uh software when I did this and when I when I did all the uh copying of the information across for some reason

Foresight wanted to make the boxes really tiny and so that’s I’ve had to zoom in a little bit because it looked ridiculous but you can see there he is still not brilliant you can still see all the bands blur but the interesting thing is now they distinctly do not

Merge two ones across where had a seven9 that merged into a worst one of the five and the best one of the nine if you now pick on a seven onon which is the dark blue it now goes basically to his peak of his seven goes to his average of his

Six just beyond slightly and then no different to when it goes down to the eighton it then goes down to the average of his eighton and that’s the worst of his seven and that’s because of the functionality of the Forgiveness that you get from a hybrid head you can’t get

Around the fact that it’s got roll and bulge and as soon as you Mish hit something like that if you hit it high on the face because of the way hybrids work you just get gearing effect and you get it higher launch slightly lower spin it just goes the same distance anyway

It’s just a win-win win and so is this brilliant no and if you get a better golfer what you start seeing is is those circles starting to now separate and if you get a really good golfer in uh for a gap test you you distinctly see individual rings and they rarely touch

Each other at all so have we made him a scratch golfer well absolutely not no he hasn’t he’s definitely got a long way to go and he would do wonders with his golf if he was to gay swing sorted out and he is an exuberant fader and if he could

Just turn that fade into a straight shot Not only would he gain a boatload in distance the chances are he’d gain a lot more in accuracy as well because his strikes a little bit shall we say sometimes heal biased with his interesting uh delivery and so he would

Gain in that as well and of course if you put that with along the um something like the 11 hybrids in his hands it just makes golf so much more fun and so you still have to do a decent job of trying to get the Golf Board to Target what the

11 hybrids or or these type of Ires do is just allow you to get so much more functional help from your M hits give you so much more functional help from your flight does take a little bit of tilt AIS off as well so it don’t quite

Curve as much it’s just so much more fun experience to play golf when you kind of don’t have to worry about where the golf Ball’s going to go and if you’re going to make solid Club contact and stuff like that yes does it make you a better

Ball strike here I would argue probably not it’s not something that I would go towards cuz I still like my chromy blades with tiny thin top lines and Tiny soul and all that lot I like that and that’s what I will continue with for the vast majority of golfers I honestly

Think going to something like these 11 hybrids would absolutely transform and just make golf so much more fun than they’ve had struggling with golf gloves potentially which are way way too difficult for them to use so hope you like the video if you did thumbs up go
