Club In Focus | Sturminster Marshall Golf Club

Sturminster Marshall Golf Club have run the Girls Golf Rocks programme every year since 2016. Following their introduction through Girls Golf Rocks sessions, the club sees a high retention rate for girls aged 5-18 moving straight into the Mike Dodd Golf Academy. This follows a similar coaching system and keeps the girls on a continued pathway into golf.

By building strong relationships with local schools, head Pro Mike Dodd has set up an emailing system to reach the parents of around 6,000 juniors, encouraging them to give golf a go.

Alongside his work as the Dorset County girls coach, this means he follows the pathway right through from beginner to county level. He has helped players such as Georgia Hall progress in the game and continues to inspire young people of all abilities to get involved.
