The PGA TOUR heads to Arizona this week for the WM Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale. After a period of multi-course rotations, we are back to a standard Full-Field Event with a 36-hole cut. Scottie Scheffler is looking to make history and become the first player since Steve Stricker to win the same PGA TOUR event three years in a row. Stricker won the John Deere Classic from 2009-11. The American has started the season well with two top-10s in three tournaments – T5 at The Sentry and T6 last week at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Justin Thomas will also be in the field this week. Since 2018, he has six top-20s at TPC Scottsdale and has claimed two top-10s in two tournaments to start the season. Jordan Spieth will also be teeing it up in Arizona this week. He’s managed four top-10s in seven tries at TPC Scottsdale. It’s also where he carded his career low, a 61 in the third round en route to a T4 in 2021. Only a month removed from a solo third at The Sentry. Others to look out for are Wyndham Clark, Max Homa and Matt Fitzpatrick.

Look at thisoh what a beauty showing off those ball striking skills he’ll have a great look that’s actually uphill trying to finish off a great round six under on this third round this should spin right over there got that shoot 64 gorgeous play there from Charlie Hoffman Scotty Sheffer all two back it’s

Kurt kyama on the te at 17 he’s got the fire power and he’s got the line look at this one Tyler are you kidding he’s on land it’s at the 15th hole just a moment [Applause] ago well he he’s the quickest to pick up his te cuz he always knows where it’s

Going off the te it’s got to be such a great feeling to be able to strike the ball time and time again like he does yeah sometimes just a good lag putt here too could give you a lot of confidence how about it or just make [Applause]

It he should be able to put some kind of spin on it throwing it up high tasty what a great shot from the rough right of the bunkers here at the 10 it was a really imp impressive birdie he’s finally healthy had a couple of rough years back problems bunch of injuries so

He’s yeah that was some shot I mean look at that he knocked it into basically tap in range back at the third Nick Taylor is about to hit his fourth shot from the bunker well he scraped that third shot after the penalty that low hook in here

Not what he’s expected but what a shot that would be incredible to get a penalty drop here after another drive to the [Applause] right I don’t blame you got to live a little let’s pick it up at the 12th Mark hubard missed this screen green and he missed it in a great spot Works moments ago this was Davis Thompson from the bunker at the eighth at six under and now just like that seven

Under the par five the beginning of one of the great three-hole stretches in the sport 15 16 and 17 here’s Tom Kim this is set up for eagles and double bogey today almost double eagle over at the sixth Nick Taylor and his second Wy 143 back into a slight

Breeze this is nine iron got to carry this one all the way to the hole this is a good looking shot here is it ever Nick Taylor with a tap in at the sixth be pretty special if he does yes yes let’s go Z

Blair yeah he he’s more of a fader I bet he’s going in between the number 10 in the flag there just trying to get a 15 18t range oh yeah he’s feeling it and so is his fan base here this was a moment ago Andrew Novak at the 10th

Two over on the front getting lapped in his group and on the leaderboard needs to get going with something here got to get going and it just did Noak first birdie in the final round he had two Bogies at six and seven on the front side what a second shot here at 13

For Sam Burns now he has a chance to get to 17 under I like all par fives today all three of them have a chance to get close and two that putter has really really warmed up in the last hour or so he’s four under in his last four holes and suddenly Sam

Burns does he get the spin he does he does does he get the break come on it’s just so exciting to [Applause] watch [Applause] he’s looking up and down that flag stick with those eyes he’s going after it Sher Parks it right in front can’t believe that one missed

About like his four Footers even though he’s three back this has been his comfort zone today another goodlooking iron swing just where spe was does it have the speed to get all the way down there what a shot there kiz did you see I hit that little ball Mark coming back

Or I think it would have had a better chance just on the right edge with some Pace well all right so Nick Taylor gets the 19 under he’s within two you know and he made the right decision based on what he felt like you know even if he

Hit a spectacular shot he unlikely to make a three looks like it’s drawing to it seen a few more birdies of as of late and Taylor is lined up to get to 20 [Applause] under finds the bottom of the hole big huge birdie by Taylor at 16 boy good looking shot sounded sounded

Really good off the face wow it’s all over it right behind the stick is Taylor does this guy have a flare for the dramatic to maybe pull out this one Nick Taylor has done it [Applause] again just right the flag stick trying to turn over a little bit how about this [Applause]

One good number for Chuck 112 should be a full wedge have some spin on it here needs to spin putting contest from there Hoffman in there a little tighter than Taylor [Applause] he just walks it in how confident was that stroke and that is four birdies in the last five holes counting regulation

For Nick Taylor wow barely caught that left Edge it didn’t look like it was going to break how about this golf by these [Applause] Two taking it in low again on a great line just left of the hole another solid shot out of Nick he’s just hit it in there inside of 20 ft three straight [Applause] times and it opens the door for Nick Taylor who’s birdied four out of the last

Five if he birdies five out of the last [Applause] six absolute unreal stuff in the desert for Nick Taylor another playoff win what an incredible finish to the tournament five out of the last six burying all three putts on 18 Charlie gave a heck of an effort too that was a

Great great week thanks for watching the PJ Tour on YouTube watch another video right here

  1. Scottie is so impressive. If he was just an average putter he'd be winning almost every single event he plays in. I don't think I've ever seen someone completely disappointed he didn't get a hole in one like he was on 16 in round 4.

Also shoutout to Bud Cauley. I don't think his return got as much coverage as it should have.

  2. Feel bad for Hoffman, some young gun just is too good and too lucky at the same time, 5-6 birdies in a row😔
