Here I explain how you can improve your golf swing with one key movement. Understanding how to turn and coil correctly is vital and sometimes we concentrate so hard on rotating in our backswing that it causes an unnecessary lifting movement and this then causes us to swing the club off plane.

The best advice I can offer to ensure you create a repetitive and powerful backswing, is to feel like your lead shoulder is swinging down towards your lead foot and at the same time your trail shoulder is riding upwards behind your head. This movement can feel a little strange at first, but you should notice a different angle in your knees and hips which allows you to drive your lower half down and through the ball with much less thinking and much more authority.

This underneath feeling will naturally help you shift your weight to your trail side, providing a more automatic return to the ball.
