Itself okay very very very interesting I definitely like the skills competition more than the the game and maybe that’s because number one uh more conu seem to be in oh no by greater proportion of competitors were Canucks on on Friday if that makes sense so three out of 12 we had 25% in

The field and then it didn’t help that he’s team lost and the second reason why is I actually couldn’t watch the games I had to watch um I mean I was at at a church Retreat running a retreat for great sevens so I had to watch the games

On replay so I did watch them but um but yeah I watched the skills actually um skills last so I mean I got to watch the skills live I didn’t watch the games I get to watch the games live I’m just looking at a message that Chris just sent me okay Chris that’s

Just heard a lot of funny things but we don’t have to go through all that we did that on Thursday night so then we go to the the skills competition itself I really like that this was my favorite part of the all-star weekend because um aside from COV I think the guys actually

Tried they didn’t want to be embarrassed and uh I have no problem that Conor McDavid won it because he technically he is in theory he’s probably the most skilled player and it’s not like he he tailored they they used Conor McDavid as a consultant to to revamp the skills competition because

They knew like we we did that is getting way too gimmicky so they use Conor McDavid I’m sure they use other Consultants as well well but they they had Conor McDavid speak into it and I thought I thought it was great actually they were all really interesting the one

Thing I liked about the skills competition we knew that for the preliminary rounds each of the 12 players had to pick four of the six events but I thought that they would make uh them all equal so even if even if 11 people wanted to do the accuracy

Shooting for instance that they would only make it a field of of six or whatever because six times eight events no sorry they make it a field of eight because if if they did it like eight people in each of the six events eight

Time six 8 time six is 48 and they have 12 competitors who choose four events 12 Time 4 is 48 so I actually thought that after the the players decided what um events they wanted to do that then the the NHL would kind of manipulate it so okay there’s only eight there’s only

Eight there’s only eight there’s only eight so on and so forth and then sometimes you get your first choice and other but I like what they did actually they said if you want to be in it you can be in it so one of them had as as

Many as 11 people in it I remember that and then like hardest shot only had four or five so um you kind of course you didn’t know what your your opponents were going to pick but you obviously were an advantage if there were five or less competitors in yours because then

You’re G to get an automatic point because the point system was 54321 if there’s 11 players in the competition then that means six guys are getting shut out and you’re playing against 10 other people I I hope that makes sense so my point is the NHL did not force

Them to eight per event they just said you sign up you want to do it then you do it so after all that you know it started off with uh it was a fastest skater and PD came in third surprisingly no sorry Hughes came in third he beat ma by Point Z1 one

1,000th which was pretty cool and then then it went to accuracy shooting and that was PD and Miller and they did they did okay actually no P did really well and then I don’t I can’t remember the order I know hard a shot py was disappointing I know passing py was very

Good Miller Miller kind of stunk um and then there’s obviously uh accur accuracy shooting and I think the PD was good in that one Miller wasn’t and then I’m missing one uh for sure before it got to you know before it got whittel down so overall um I I remember that P Hughes

Got eliminated from the first batch and then and then when it went to shootouts against goldendent that um that Pon chose ainger and then Miller chose who is Miller left with I can’t remember who he went against um and then at the end of that Miller and pety were tied but Miller

Advanced because he did better in the in the last event that they both competed in if that makes sense so basically Hughes did not make the cut from 12 to8 then pety and McKinnon I think were eliminated from not making the cut from eight to six but then Miller came into

The final round at the he was at the bottom of the six so he had to go first he did the the long obstacle course first he really struggled on the passing getting it over that little bounce beam type thing into the three mini Nets and basically I think everyone except one I

Think everyone except barel barel was horrible at that too so I guess it was harder than it looks but everyone I think except brazelle did better than Miller so then Miller fell out of it as well all to say Conor McDavid end up winning and I actually um I thought it

Moved pretty quickly I thought it was well organized and um I thought overall that um that for me that was the most entertaining part of the weekend then we get to the allstar game on Saturday the first game it was mcdavid’s team beating McKinnon’s team Elias lhol was part of McKinnon’s team

And he got an assist so at least he did something um which is great he got an assist he had three shots a net um so that was fine and then the next game was the one that we cared about obviously it was Hughes against team Matthews

Highlighted by Rick toet going two for two in his predictions it was funny he predicted that Brady Chu was gonna score about a minute before he did and then he predicted that Frank vatrano was gonna score about 10 seconds before he did and that was within a three minute span so

It was pretty funny BX joke that they should go to Vegas right after that Hugh’s team lost unfortunately I don’t know if you recognize this um when it was Demco inet I think besser besser had a horrible giveaway actually I think besser he was minus three so I think

Besser I remember one of them he did a horrible giveaway another one he didn’t pick up a guy in front so whatever and then I did notice that um of course Pon had the game on his stick a chance to win it in the shootout and he lost

Control and then the T Matthew scored so then Miller had to score to to make it even to extend it and Miller did not even get he as slow left to right move and he didn’t even get a shot off so it kind of stunk that besser was the victim

Of two giveaways that py was uh and Miller did not help in the in the shootout py did score during the game and Quinn Hughes did have three assist so you could argue that Quinn Hughes was probably the best out of out of all the Canucks players them

Just okay made uh seven saves on 10 shots but no goal tender is going to do very well then finally team Matthews routed team McDavid 74 in the final Austin Matthews wins the MVP to send everyone home happy and that was all she wrote for this year’s Allstar

Weekend yeah and I love to you know I I I wasn’t watching any of your um any of your comments through through um as I was going through that recap but I’ll definitely answer your questions um after after the midow break for sure let’s talk about the knucks now the

Canucks practice today so those that were an All-Star had to pack were packed for a long trip because now they went to Carolina the rest of the team met them there and this is what we have to show you tonight is new lines well one new

Line and it’s not uh it’s nothing that we didn’t expect and I will tell you um you know what’s funny just before I get to these lines no actually I’ll go through the lines first and then I’ll tell you an interesting story about YouTube and then we’ll get to um the mitcho sponsor

Took Andre kuso’s spot on the PD line Joshua Bluer Garland hogland ran lafy Hugh Ron at Co Meers zidor julson and now the extras were lenus Carlson called up again from abord Mark fredman we know he’s been the extra defenseman with Carson sus out and Phil djepi making his

Return to practice so that’s 21 skaters plus the two goalies the knucks have a full and healthy roster right now so again the extras were Carlson fredman and Phil djepi so obviously all eyes were on oh Miller chose Swan thank you guys forgot about that maybe continue on the conu

Dissing of of Jeremy Swan so all eyes were on Elias slol and no surprise that he’s they line up with PD for many reasons not just the Swedish connection you could put hoglander up there and make for a really interesting interesting line but um if they’re not going to play the lotto line

This makes sense because if you play the lotto line then that leaves lyol between sud and mckv and that might be an okay line but I don’t think it’s the the best so I much rather have the two pairings Miller and bester on the top line or one

Line and with suda right now and then Pon and Lindholm as the other as the other pairing Alias and Elias and then right now mckv is their is their linemate what’s nice is lyol can play center obviously he’s a right-hand shot so depending on on matchups and the side

Of the rink you’re on and offense and defense you could have PD U take the draws on one side and you could have linol take the draws on the other side and there’s a lot of nice interchangeability there and I think that’s some of the versatility that

Lol’s going to bring everyone asked me how how do you sum up Eli l home what’s he going to do for the Canucks I said four things he checks off he’s a right-handed Center as I just talked about he’s great in the face offs 55% he

Can do power play he’ll just take kuso spot and he’s great on the penalty kill as well something kmo couldn’t do and I get it’s not just Lind home for kuso but for this season that is really the tradeoff that you are looking at and I

Think it’s G to be I can’t wait I cannot wait to watch this game on Tuesday to see how lyom and PD play together now what’s really fascinating you guys is is uh when lyom got traded to the ks on Wednesday I didn’t do the best Vlog

Because I as you guys know I was running around at my church and my video did did okay um others videos did much better and that’s fine like Parker had a a massive video and that’s really cool was happy for him you guys know I I generally don’t get jealous or envious

About the kind of things um there’s a lot of good content creators but I I use that Parker example is his uh trade video went really did really well and he he did a really good breakdown he did 14 15 minute breakdown and I did a three

Minute rest job from from a side office in my church so I get that and and that’s fine then this afternoon I just did a goofy eight minute Vlog on and I just said Elias lolm lines up with Elias Pon and all I did was talk about these

Line combinations and what linol can bring as a as a second line player playing with py basically what I just talked to you about now but I expanded it for eight minutes and this video it’s strange already has 5,000 views in six hours and that’s ma that’s crazy for um

For a video that really didn’t say much of anything I just read out the lines and I I talked about why why they’re important why they’re com composed this way so you know my my trade video only had 2,000 views after six hours and this video about Elias lolm playing with pet

Pon on the second line or whatever at practice first practice allstar game has 5,000 views already two and a half times more than the actual trade video again my trade video didn’t do that well so it’s not like uh like this video today is amazing but I was really really

Surprised and I really think it speaks to how hungry people are right now how hungry they are for to to watch this Canucks team play again continue to build on their number one ranking in the league and they’re really interested to see on uh um what Elias linol is up to

Logan I’m not the goat um but I’ll take that I appreciate that that’s very kind of you now whoops I’m just clicking all over the place here last thing is the five games that are coming up so let’s look at that real quick and it’s not the toughest road

Trip in the world it starts off pretty tough because Carolina and Boston are two good teams but then after that it’s a early game on Saturday in Detroit then it’s an early game on Sunday in Washington so that that might be a little bit tricky those two early games back toback

But I’m glad that game’s early then there I can watch the Super Bowl later and then it winds up in Chicago again a team that we should we should Pummel with our eyes closed so you know let’s say they drop one of the two against Carolina or Boston like as as

Good as a conar remember Boston is just as good I I would love us to be if I knew that the conects would only win one of the next two I would hope I would say lose fine Los in Carolina it’s kind of sucks lomes first game but then beat

Boston so and then they should beat Detroit Washington and Chicago maybe give them a stumble so I I’ll go three1 and one I if they get seven out of 10 points on this road trip I’ll be happy I’ll go three1 and one and then when they come back uh not so tough game

Against Detroit than a good game against Winnipeg and then even these these three this road trip two of them should be wins I’m going to be at this game by the way I’ll tell you more about this when we get closer but I have the most

And I love going one take and I think um one thing that sets me apart for most of the content creators out there is I don’t edit maybe it’s because I’m so bad at editing but most of my stuff is spontaneous like these live streams um I

Get to show my knowledge I get to my show my ability for public speaking but blah blah blah so having said that there’s a lot of different kind of type of channels out there the Highlight types and some of those guys are really funny too like they’re very sarcastic
