Normal like the score should look after itself and it was just about me like taking care of my emotions inside making sure that I wasn’t like getting too far away with the round and thinking right I could do this or I could do that then noticing oh suddenly all the cameras are

You got go and play the way that you want to play and I think that’s the different thing about golf compared to other sports like if you’re staying there going well I’m going to have all this stress or all that stress and you know how am I getting around today himz

Has always seemed like yeah he comes out does a little bit of his aerobics or whatever he does movements in the morning and then he goes bshch right I love it l d I love this and then he’s out there you know while we’re on this I love I love

The we mentioned it walking down the fa a like the freaks of the game like you ever played with the freaks of the game who’s the freaks of the game for you you mention but yeah what’s it like to be alongside and play play with them I think people

People often ask me like who’s the best player you played with and who’s the who’s the guy that impresses you most I think it’s a really tough question cuz like generally you play with guys that are either really good drivers and then they know maybe they their iron play

Doesn’t quite match up to that and then then maybe not the best putter or you play with guys that got an unbelievable short game look like can get it up and down out of anywhere okay and I think like I’d put a blend of people together

But you know Rory is amazing I think all the different things he has to put up with in his life you know what’s going on extracurricular stuff you know business stuff and you’re like wow somehow he can come out even in the height of like all this stuff with Liv

And he’s this the the situation on going with a PJ tour and he’s had an amazing couple of years really you know what I mean all things aside to go to keep his goal at the level he’s kept it at with all that going on you know I think it’s really commendable and

Um yeah I think that’s impressive when you watch the top guys they seem to find a way no matter what stage of their career they’re going about and generally as a golfer you’re on tour at 20 you got a career for 25 years you mean you’re going through being a being like an

Adolescent kid coming through having a few quid working out what you’re going to do with it then you’re going to meet a girl get married however it goes then you got all the stuff that goes on around that like and it’s it’s um it is

2006 so I got my card um and then it was like boom like you know no EGU none of the sort of amateur stuff that was around me to support me it was like great I Nike deal which was which was brilliant could go out and play golf and

Travel the world and play on tour obviously I was a young kid my dad was around me dad C for me my first year on tour which was brilliant um yeah listen and I I I took my first year on tour like listen don’t have massive expectations here you go you’re out in

Like a whole new world guys that are playing dating um to a point I wouldn’t say it was I mean listen right my first event I played down at leopard Creek um in South Africa I think I shot two under the first day might shot level par second

Round and I made the cut in 11th I was thinking this is where is and um I never forget the first the first Green’s got like uh the front lower part then it sort goes up in three tiers up to the back right P was like middle left like

Bit easier me home life was all right I can go out and play um and the game felt felt reasonable you know what I mean so and when you say support network did you have a specific person there who would deal with the pressures and a psychologist sort of thing yeah I’ve had

Psychologist in coach all the way through so like psychologist at 11 years old coaching from 10 really yeah but like all these things you know I wouldn’t necessarily say in like the peripheral things in your life like stuff outside it was like right how you going to deal with like a pressure

Situation how you going to deal when you’re are shaking and you got to kind of take a couple of deep breaths think about what you got to do in your mind take your thoughts cuz you all got a million thoughts going on all the time and it’s like that’s okay it’s okay to

Have loads of faults it’s okay to stand here and think I’m going to you got water short right winds down at the left I’m eating something soft if I’m eating it soft it’s easy to come out of it or the want it hard and finish left it’s

Okay to have these faults you just got to realize I’m having them pick one of them and commit to it you know what I mean so I think like that’s that’s always been my kind of philosophy you know and I and I be all I’d say I’ve

Been hard of myself over the years because the the bits of indecision that maybe come in at times or whether I’m swinging poor or feeling like I’m a bit in and out my Fields you know would be where I look back and say like I’ve

Given it I’ve given it me all you know what I mean i’ say I’ve G I’ve I’ve gone about asking people for the right advice trying to put the right people in place around me to go and do what I want to do

Off the charts all weeks parted off the charts like you got to have a part of your game that stands out and um you know over my career I’ve generally been pretty steady in certain areas over the last few years it’s kind of like dropped

Off a bit of me driving which has kind of turned into a little bit of a problem you know what I mean cuz then it’s D yeah cuz then I haven’t got the other parts of the game to step it up too much and I don’t think you can play be eight

Ball from the start on the tea off especially the way pro golf’s gone now yeah um but no I tell you my transition to Pro Golf getting me card as a as a young kid I wouldn’t change anything I wouldn’t look back and go oh I’ve done

It I’ve done it too early or you know the way the tours are now I think um you know you see some of these young guys um young South African guy that’s just kind won on the corn faery tour he won the British amate last year he’s got like

Unbelievable amount of potential there’s a guy out in um New Zealand who’s just won um I think he might won US amate last year yeah he’s won massive there’s another guy he’s New Zealand B he’s won like a few events he’s like off the charts so like these guys have got sort

Of sitting there going do they turn pro early or do they wait to go through college and what do they do and I think like looking back if I was in the situation I was now cuz like there’s um there’s car available if you go to us

College now whereas it never was when I was when I was coming through you know I think maybe it might have changed your mind a little bit but then if someone goes to you you’re 18 years old you g a Tor score there your card what are you

Going to do I mean it’s like it’s your ticket right you got to go you got to try and seize your opportunity and I think in life with whatever it is you’re doing you just got to be in the moment enough but you got you got to be able to

Realize when them opportunities come around and like that was definitely the opportunity do you know what I mean to get out and get on there um you know since then I’ve had a few ups and downs lost me card 9 13 um and again obviously 22 but listen

It’s been um been a great experience you know what I mean all the way through and it’s not over yet which we’re going to talk about a bit later on yeah I’m talk I’m talking like it’s like no one thing I will say you’re talking unbelievably brilliant it’s like amazing listening to

Intricacies you know I’ve been out spent some been fortunate enough to spend some time with some of the great coach you Cowan Matt belan m o Grady Chris Jen coach when as was a kid like I’ve had some amazing times around that side of it as well as being able to play with

Like Rory Ernie you know Westwood Clark all the guys you play Through The Years you go hold on a minute oh like you was a young kid from chigwell you know you’ve played golf for wherever it is and end up you know playing here playing there traveling the world it’s not you

Know I’ve been lucky so un I think on the side of it you got to look at back yeah exactly exactly that it is it is dream stuff if you’re like enough to play sports for a living for a certain amount of time it don’t matter if you

Can play it for one year 10 years 20 years you’re cheap 1 million 10 million or or 20 like if you’re lucky to compete at sport there ain’t many people to get to do that abely but you should do pundry in the future cuz you are classmate but we’re all we’re all square

For I see integral Sports manager which is nice yeah it’s great cuz I can uh listen the younger guys coming through with the experience I’ve had for the years um speaking to guys the different situation I’ve been in the guys that I’ve played with the friends I’ve made

You know it all works right so absolutely um it’s good to be involved with them guys and they got great team behind me Ray Winston what a legend absolute Legend love him yeah no so listen that’s smashing um so that’s nice still around game helping the youngsters coming

Through with all your experience that’s I’m unreal totally totally without question I think the game of golf with know no matter what stage you’re at whether you’re whether you’re an 8-year-old member at the golf club or a 5-year-old kid playing yeah you’ve all got a common theme right of what you’re

Out there to do is to enjoy yourself and as a professional as a professional athlete or a golfer or footballer you’re out there to try and earn a few quid but you’re all about enjoying yourself while you doing it right so um and we’ve lived that leave them breathed it through the

Years so if I can kind of give that side to it and just kind of give people a little bit of um I don’t know I’d say just a little bit of kind of like an area around what they’re doing yeah just to make sure it all sort of joins up

Right um I think I can do that with golf rooms over in brenford new seven Bay simulator golf’s on moving Bay so like you get in there you play whatever course you want the bay move so you got an uphill Li down listen it’s a bit of fun right go

In there you can hit balls you can come and see me there for a couple of hours um play with you whatever else so no listen that’s quite a nice F BR for boys coming in boy it’s it’s like 200 yards from the stadium oh right and um yeah

Like Christian a couple of guys yeah yeah so wow amazing we have um I think I think nowadays right the game of golf there so many more people that are playing and they’re not all playing in the kind of way that me and you grew up playing like coming out on the golf

Course playing some people have an hour or two to mix that up in the in the middle of their day and if that’s indoor if that’s outdoor if that’s a country club however it may fit I think nowadays the access to it is far greater and um

It’s nice to have a couple of different kind of sides that are doing that and like from a pro position people people want to be around us if I can give something back it will work so no it’s exciting exciting times um listen I’m looking forward to getting back out on
