He everyone it’s Fitz with your daily delivery I hope you are doing well I am wonderful I’m wonderful it’s beautiful weather in the Flynn Hills right now and we’ve got coverage of Kansas State at Oklahoma State coming up Saturday at Go powercat Zack Carlson Ryan Gilbert with the coverage from Stillwater and today’s

DD is something a little bit different I’m going to be really upfront this is a promo DD I want you to come over and watch the big 12 insiders we got a special edition today Brian Hanley and I will be conversing about a topic that I’m very passionate about and I’m going

To talk about it a little bit here as a preview and other topics at the Big 12 insiders please subscribe to this YouTube channel because of those things we’re trying to do a lot of cool programming the shoot around the Insiders K State and Big 12 version you

You deserve great coverage we’re trying to give it to you on with the DD our head coaches about to start fleeing from college football because of this convergence of so many outside forces on what their job is about now I know what a lot of you are thinking you’re

Thinking these people are really well paid they’re they’re millionaires I don’t feel sorry for them but do you really want to lose your head coach now if you’re at a program like Boston College that might be struggling a little bit and you just lost your head

Coach you’re like okay we got to start again maybe this guy will be better because Jeff hafley just left Boston College become the Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator now over four years he’s just a little bit under 500 this year was his best year at 7 and six

They won the finway bowl or whatever that damn thing is yeah Boston College athletics is not in a good spot right now and probably in part because maybe they’re not competing as well in the nil space and they’re not as attractive in the transfer portal space now just a few

Years ago these things weren’t real concerns but now a head coach isn’t just a head coach he’s a general manager he isn’t just managing his roster he’s trying to balance nil salaries and trying to keep peace in the locker room with a bunch of players that used to be

Student athletes and now are basically professional athletes they’re getting paid uh for their services by fan collectives we’ve seen a few fallouts already Nick Sabin retired and stated this was a big factor it it’s just almost a hellscape right now trying to be uh a head coach in the month of

December and January Anu AR you’ve got the season wrapup you’re trying to protect your players from going into the portal you’re trying to get new players from the portal you’re still recruiting you’re trying to get nil offers out to players you want players you want to

Keep because they might go in the portal it this didn’t exist you didn’t have salary concerns you didn’t have this type of management and a lot of head coaches are beginning to whisper I know we’re well paid but my health and my happiness are at stake and what did Jeff hle say when

He took that professional job got back to the NFL he said I want to coach football again because head coaches at the college level don’t really feel like football coaches most of their job now is not related to X’s and O’s and it is a mess we will discuss at 100 p.m. today

Central on the Big 12 insiders it’s ask big b day if you’ve got questions come to ask them cuz we are there to answer and big B will have an answer cuz that dude knows his Sports your reminder also we’re sponsored by Mel RG Golf Apparel go check out this pullover and other

  1. A temporary solution to the mess could be starting to hire people for “general manager” type roles to take weight off the HC

  2. No doubt in my mind. Big money has ruined college athletics. The fun is rapidly going away. I have a lot of respect for Nick Saban and the way he ran his program. Now it's just a big business that is rapidly spinning out of control. SAD!!!

  3. NIL salary cap for schools, a one time only transfer portal for players and a HR dept to handle the caps, transfers and scholarships for all school sports.

  4. These students work hard for the University and they make a lot of money for their University but I agree. There should be some kind of a balance of power between students and coaches

  5. THIS is why I have always said, and still believe, that NIL and The Portal is killing college sports. In reality, college sports no longer exist. It is now just a junior league for Pro Sports and a money generator for the colleges.

  6. A close friend is a D1 head coach and he has often been tempted to accept an nfl position because although pressure packed, there is more down time off season and less bs to deal with. He says the days of Joe Paternos and Bobby Bowdens are over because it wears one down.

  7. More regulations and additional staff need to be hired to help college coaches wade thru all that NIL/portal biz. Otherwise, yes, I bet they start jumping ship. Like they don’t have ENOUGH stress already w/o adding more. SMH
