South Africa Junkyard in Bela Bela, Limpopo – Citi Golfs, Skylines (!), Mercedes, BMW, Opel, & more.

I’m in South Africa travelling over 5000 km in a Volkswagen Mk1 Citi Golf, made in 2007. I found a junkyard near the CanpFest show, which I visited to try and find some trim pieces for my car. I was surprised with the amount of cars they had, so I shot this quick video.

Unfortunately I have left the yard, so I cannot help if you need any parts from there, but it is called Grobbies and is located in Bela Bela, Limpopo, about two hours north of Johannesburg. 

Well join me as I go to a South African junkyard I’ve already had a quick look around and the amount of old Mercedes BMWs is unbelievable so this is cobby’s junkyard in Bella Bella some parts are already removed and stripped with prices and a lot of them are not so you need

Some center caps I do need a wheel but I can’t see a Velocity Wheel I’ve been trying um leaf springs it’s all very organized like uh I know my car needs some window regulators but uh yeah let’s uh oo H some sa Market valve covers I bet there’s some of the cool Volkswagen

Ones but you never know what you’re going to find can I even make it through all the manual steering ing racks that you could possibly ever want but let’s go into the main part and show you around some of the cars and it is if I had to guess 34°

It’s still midm morning all the glass all right T2 Caravel being used for storage there’s a Mark 1 hatch with rust on it I mean come on this is Africa this shouldn’t be rust how about a Massie Ferguson tractor oh I really promise you that the Mercedes and the BMWs is almost

Unbelievable all right here’s the first one we’ve got a Volkswagen Mark 1 Jetta but it’s not it’s a fox made in South Africa Volkswagen van UTA small windows so it’s an earlier one but super cool factory yellow color next to a voyage but not a Brazilian Voyage uh yeah all right let’s keep

Wandering lot of Toyotas uh I think that’s a Tata Tata Nano maybe remember when they were like going to be a big thing so Ford Sierra there were a lot of for sieras but I I’ve seen like one driving so far um all right here’s our love

Mark 1 with a modern power outlet scratched to death I’m going to leave this one for the next person but yeah South African Market center console at the Birds Gold Ford Fiesta oh look at that yes come to Papa look at that original blank non oversprayed even

Though the car was originally gold oh the door was gold probably that’s it so yeah I’ll go with that the car was white Factory of course cuz the floor is oh I’m overthinking this all right moving on up okay bumper bumpers bumpers chrome bumpers no golf one chrome bumpers but a

Lot of BMW Mercedes ble look of it there’s golf bumpers any uh Jetta 2 C cradles for me probably not if I had to guess there’s a pat bumper oh well they sell me license plates they’ve got Northwest license plates here a lot of City Golf bumpers

So let’s keep going newish Audi A3 that’s a 8p 8 L 8p which we got and then under the sketchy engine left an Audi 100 with a team Jesus sticker didn’t help the car too much rightand Drive of course no motor SI oh there uhoh a green

Chico a green City just like mine just like I wanted to buy originally H that’s ah that spikes and a Mark 1 old school next to it I’m signing more and more South African so an old school Mark 1 baby blue here we go yeah no headrest seats old original dashboard rightand Drive

Where was it from lopo okay I’m going to try and buy that is it legal I don’t know but we will try and then the green Chico not the one of my dreams unfortunately but does have all the little pieces on it oh yeah this is an old school one not

The new school so that doesn’t help me um but yeah they are really using all of the cars here next to a Sierra next to a datson truck city Limpopo well this hopefully will come with me Volvo 850 maybe and this is a Renault I really don’t see maybe Renault

Pulled out of the country I don’t know I don’t see them BMW 5 series with a bangle butt so found the Limpopo let’s try and find all nine there we go there’s the BMW there’s so many of these and the Mercedes as well Audi says 500 SE 500

SE Reno CLE I really think that here I’m going to use this blue Toyota as my base I don’t even know what some of these are is this a fair lady a cool number plate is one in the front oh Toyota cresa cresa there you go is it possible to get this number

Plate off next to a BMW E3 36 okay well I’ll try and get that one before I leave and then let’s see what else we working with here something green and cool is it Toyota is it a Fiat I do not know another Mercedes next

Okay l c more cadetes more Audi yeah 500 100 5000s whatever you want to call them whatever they wanted to call them sieras Mark 2 Jetta and an engine I did see a flat 4 Alpha engine in here I think it was oh look CLI so this was their

Version of the GLI which means Sports bucket seats look at those this was it oh this one had the cool steering wheel this one might have had the rally gol front end on it definitely had the cool seats it’s called the rat support no standard ah I would have

Bought it even in that condition 100% I would have bought it but no it had a normal Jetta front end look at this air intake is that normal it does say 191 so it’s not an sa Market but how cool is that Fiat Mark 2 golf Pat estate Audi 500e yeah

Pette so yeah in America it’ll be a Quantum here’s another old BMW so many of these here like I don’t know if they’re being saved or somebody just liked them Pat GLS with rip cam block sticker more Cadets more Audi’s Fiat Uno Hyundai Elantra now that I’ve sted noticing them

Yeah there’s a Skyline there’s a Skyline I believe they were sold here not used or imported but I think they may have been sold here new Skyline 2.0 GLE so I think this is an r31 Skyline do not quote me on that right hand drive of course can’t see any

Stickers or vin oh there we go there we go Nissan SA can I even make that out maybe the camera can better no I don’t see any good designations there Nissan motorco Toy Tokyo Japan and a Ford Grenada 3 l so this might have been a V6 next to a Mark

1 with a Limpopo license plate great Grenada motor 100% going on that okay oh oh the skylines are everywhere just everywhere Audi shell Nissan Skyline 2.0 GLE crazy crazy so this is the Mercedes area I’m not good enough to know which model is which these ones have the double

Bumpers this one has the single BMW 7 Series yeah yeah yeah I asked the boss and he showed me his dog he said you got one of the puppies okay yeah so bmw3 I’m still looking for more golf Parts but yeah I need the cradle for a

Jetta 2 CI but I think it’s impossible you had one but it had the wrong cradle wow so all right but yeah I will keep wandering and shopping so thank you sir this is the sa uniform that everyone wears with the reflective elbows and knees and Mark one kind of complete small

Window dashboard is broken but there fuse panel was there two different seats the rears are super cool material um more Mercedes medium School Land Rover somebody needed the back end of that and look yes a metal Lim poo plate ah it’s hot ah ah damn it ah okay all right if I hold it here it seems to have cooled down a little bit oh here I don’t know what that is

Belmont the sedan Astros um from the late 80s okay wow check out this rear spoiler on the Nissan wow that is pretty intense and then the rear spoiler on the pat they did have a pat CLI here I believe all right Mercedes 230 another Audi all right we’re kind of

Getting to the end of it this is pretty big I mean there has to be 100 150 cars here ah velocity yes the there is a velocity here that I’ve got a couple of small little seals and rubbers from there’s more Mercedes Sierra wagon but yes a velocity an actual real velocity no

Wheel no suspension left Dash is gone ECU is still there and black headliner Factory black headliner is super cool so this is the one that I got a couple parts from unfortunately he dropped some of the ah dang almost oh yeah look new school it has the wiper

There and look at the glass the glass literally has black Sur like a markv which is crazy so I need these actually so I’m to find or borrow a Philip screwdriver um so I’ll get that in a minute but yes velocity from Kang Province

Not yeah I guess I got a hid in the front left the window cranks are gone cuz I need a window crank okay baby blue Pat H be still my heart baby blue Pat right there oh wait is that a Nissan okay forget it it goes on and on

Mark 1 City Golf it has the L there but an earlier one because it still has a quarter windows then in America we would have tick I don’t know what they have here in South Africa but another Pat Mark I Mark I Jetta Audi A4 which seems too new to be

Back here I don’t know what that is it’s a BMW behind it but I I don’t know what that is it has a cool silhouette it before it was unceremoniously chopped up for parts so this velocity had Hood pins on it so let’s walk over to the last bit

And then I will get back to Parts hunting properly wow the sun is so hot another old Mercedes media Mercedes that’s not a sayat that is a Volkswagen Polo here another Audi Quattro with the rear drivetrain in place does that say 2.5 or 2.6 six like that if you need the control

Arms or the rear trailing arm you just throw it on its side we do the world over Mark two big window Mark I Jetta this is a CSX then a little station wagon yellow station wagon there Renault 5 badge I have not seen A Renault 5 here in South Africa but
