Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to high top sports network presentation of wpil Class 5A section 2 girls varsity basketball this evening the Armstrong riverhawks host tomor fighting planets my name is Josh Reas to my left the Bak Brothers Logan and Liam here joining me in the Hawks Nest just
Underway and the opening tip controlled by the fighting planets Logan Liam great to do a broadcast with you guys yeah it uh it’s been a minute but we’re glad to be back so uh excited for a section match up tonight riverhawks had the better of the fighting Planet first time around and
That game stands out for one particular reason Emma Paul going off 10 threes 45 points School record absolutely incredible night broke her own record which was uh was M was it matched or beaten by Olsen so she scored 40 as a freshman at Indiana Indiana then Olsen
Scored 43 against leeburg last year and Emma got it back I talked to her about it she said I never really thought about it when I was getting close but it is a cool record to kind of have and I said uh yeah pretty cool record
Yeah turnover out of bounds or excuse me uh off the fighting planets kick there so I’m going to say that the strategy the first time around by Mars was like Hey let Emma Paul get hers let the other people beat you I don’t think they’re going to do the same thing this time
Yeah no not at all as she’s wide open no good good rebound there by yansy up his Weaver no good and Fitzgerald comes crashing in and that’ll be a foul on the senior center yeah that’s something Fitz Cher’s got to watch for early she needs to stay
In her game in the paint use all sides of the ball and not get fouls because against Mars she needs to be in this game the whole time so Mars bringing it up the court no good right there bite for the rebound D Gregorio gets it wrestled away jump off on the Floor so ball back to the riverhawks here no score early first quarter riverhawks and fighting planets Paul kcks it out to yansy jumper up and good get the sh roll good assist there by Emma Paul yeah absolutely um uh Paul able to use the pick and roll first time unsuccess
Successful with Fitzgerald but Weaver’s pick and roll set yansy up for the nice jumper good analysis there baseball guy wearing all your Red Sox stuff yeah had to had to represent tonight so that one had been tipped I Believe by number five Alexis cash dollar out of bounds yeah
Emma almost had Fitzgerald in the paint there just a little too late there pass was also a little bit High there by Paul but riverhawks main possessions looks like they’re going to consistently double team Paul up up top Gerald kicks it out to Gregorio open three up no good fight for it Weaver
There but brought out by AA day of the fighting planets Mars having a tough time getting around the Armstrong defense so far they’re starting a man shot up there short no good that Jumper by Cecilia Christie out of there with the rebound are the fighting planets and a good take right there high

You what her emergence this season after being injured coming into last year I thought you know being injured during volleball season tough for her to get back she did get back by the end of the year but this year she take such a leap she took a great leap in volleyball and
Also on the court for the riverhawks first one up Good by yeah and I’m sure uh coach Jim caliper is very happy about that you know they really needed her to step up uh taking less pressure off the onew punch from Paul and Fitzgerald Weaver looking to make it two
For two from the line up no good short oh lane violation I believe on Mars seen that a couple times this year I saw tube in a game last week really yeah and it’s it is rare don’t usually get the lane violation but sometimes you’ll get a shooter that did just what
Weaver does right there get it up Armstrong you know last week Logan I was uh in Heritage conference country the whole week did one Armstrong game and then a bunch of West joken boys and girls games in Marian Center and Homer Center and uh we got media timeouts
Everywhere we went really I’ve told Mr KES about this KES I said hey dude we need media timeouts he goes we go ask for them I was like I guess it is really my responsibility but yeah I’d like to play him for Stuff good taken finish right there by cash

The new role with uh fouls in the quarters now instead of the half you have five fouls and you go to the line for two no more one and on yeah that I don’t like it yeah I don’t like it either Joe said he liked it I don’t
Know Joe’s contrary yeah he uh now I I don’t he Haven he and I really haven’t talked about it but I’m not a fan I like the one inone that gives you a chance you know on a Miss free throw to get down and uh score without giving them
Two chances from the line free throw there if it’s Gerald out of there with the board on the FL yeah I always I always like the one in on you know you get two chances for one and one before the double bonus you know it can change the game
Quick inbound to for good that’s ass number three for Emma ball already yeah that’s insane nice look and um yeah she can score at will it seems um but you know what two seasons she has led Armstrong County in assists by a pretty commanding margin yeah she does a great job of not
Just fighting for herself out there but she gets the whole team involved stop and pop three ball there missed by Christie offensive rebound by the planets and a foul on the Floor Gregorio will pick upou her first of the night so inbound here coming Vita Vargo to the left of the hoop Fargo quick pull good contest there by allensworth that b way off nice save by Marlo melish and Paul gets it the head oh nice speed and Fitzgerald had a little

By three coming out of the half time Lo and that second quarter Logan a big second quarter for the planets yeah I mean going into the second quarter Armstrong had a five-point lead at 14-9 and Mars ended up scoring or excuse me 13 points or no 16 I’m sorry and
Armstrong was only able to get eight so Mars down five ended up up three at the half well Emma Paul in and out on the three ball p chal fights for the board kicks it back out to Emma Paul and Paul up off glass no good and
In there for the board is Christy so a couple of chances there for the riverhawks but no dice yeah one thing that we talked about at the beginning of the game was how well Armstrong is doing it uh keeping Mars outside and able to get the
Rebounds but you know it really kind of faded in that second quarter yeah they did Miss there by mcdo rebounded by the Hawks b gets to Fitzgerald on the Run she’s fouled on the way up so Fitzgerald to the line for a couple riverhawks struggled from the free throw line in the first
Half this is her first shots in the night from the line I do believe so and that one long back iron another Miss free throw I mean we we got to be two for seven or nine or whatever it is uh wouldn’t call it great as former pit basketball head
Coach Jean Stallings once said uh wouldn’t call it great and that one up and good til Gerald will get the second on that trip to the line two-point game now Mars with the ball Vargo dribbles and tries to get it inside there’s cash dollar hand it back off to

Team nowhere to go with it and turns it over on the trvel LI Hawks a chance to tie or take the lead on this possession so Paul’s going to bring it up uh something interesting that I’ve seen this season is they Armstrong likes to mix it up with having yansy bring up
