All right so we had originally recorded the intro on Wednesday morning at about 9:00 a.m. uh I then recorded uh some additional content for islands in the league our YouTube video series uh as we were finishing up recording uh news broke that Doc Rivers uh has reached an

Agreement to coach the Milwaukee Bucks so I wanted to just have a little reaction to that uh first of all this is [ __ ] insane what’s happening like it’s insane it’s insane it’s insane Adrien Griffin we went over the numbers third winningest coach ever in terms of win percentage to be fired

Midseason in NBA history other two teams Lakers in 1980 Cavs in 16 go on to win a championship ultimately that’s why they’re bringing Doc Rivers in he did win a championship in 2008 and I want to be fair and I want to be unprejudice in in sort of my assessment

Of this move for the Milwaukee Bucks when you look at the landscape of sort of like who’s available who’s available who’s had head coaching experience we just brought in a rick rookie coach it clearly was not working out the players clearly were not responding to Adrien Griffin in a positive

Way they’re not going to then go hire an assistant coach or they’re not going to promote this is a team that wants to win now they want a proven coach so in that sense Doc Rivers to the milwauke makes a lot of sense he makes a lot of sense for

Sure to a certain faction of people to another faction of people uh we can feel a certain way about him as a coach about him since 2008 and and what he’s done he’s certainly won a lot of games a lot of regular season games I don’t know I don’t think Doc

Rivers is the coach that would get this team to a championship I don’t think that maybe based on Perimeter Personnel all that thing defensively they’re they’re not going to get there this year maybe they add someone at the deadline maybe they add someone in buyout which historically has not worked maybe they get

There I don’t know I don’t know it’s just [ __ ] crazy hey guys we’ve got a ton of great content for you on our YouTube channel we’ve got old man of the three things we’ve got our player and guest interviews on old land of the 3 and we’ll be having some fresh islands

  1. He cried on camera for a pedo named jacob blake who got shot reaching for a weapon. He tows the left wing line and for that the nba will keep this fraud employed.

  2. Said when the rumor got out that if I as Doc Rivers I would never accept that job! Reasons: they have a super star that wants to WN NOW, they have a super star new to the team in decline that don’t lay defense, they have a star ( or used to be a star) that is also in decline, they don’t have a strong bench, they lost Jrue that was the glue on defense, Doc won’t have a coaching staff of his choosing. Net, I think Doc is risking further damaging his reputation as a coach to the point he will never coach NBA again in his life after this failure in the making. Hope I am wrong for the sake of the Bucks team. On the other hand, let’s see if they will get Doc fired also or use him as a scapegoat, then it will be clear is a players issue not a coach issue. Biggest mistake Bucks organization made was to fire Budenholzer for making one mistake in the playoff (a day after his brother passed away nonetheless).

  3. Is it true that he's a kind of coach, who's coaching comes down to a locker room relations management through the political means and mediocre whole rest of the spectrum of coach's functional?

  4. I’m so glad it happened for the shear entertainment value. One of things I looked forward to most in the playoffs was a Doc team choking / blowing a lead and the drama that ensued.

  5. Griffin is reported to have gotten sideways with Giannis. Maybe he questioned why his dead weight brother continues to occupy a roster spot when he can't play dead in a western. B.S. players run the league and smart coaches know this. Truly the inmates are running the prison. Nothing even needs to be said about gag artist Rivers.

  6. Only coach I can think of that's out there would be Mark Jackson but I think he'll never get another chance. He has the old school style of coaching. Players want Players friendly coaches now. II personaly think you need a coach that knows how to do both effectively. hold people accountable but you don't have to run a team military style. I don't have any issue with Old School coaching but if your job is to get people to buy in to what you are trying to do, its going to much more difficult in this era as the players have so much power over an organization.

  7. Weird choice to hire Doc rivers
Budenholzer could be the best option to consider than rivers
Rivers will not take bucks as contenders
    Curious choice

  8. I know another coach that has a championship in his past. Coach Bud. I still don't understand why they fired him.

  9. Middleton should have been traded. Not saying Bucks would have gotten Lillard for him, but Middleton hasn't done much except for a few good games.

  10. Doc is good coach not great and his era is over so par or sub par at this point. The fact the bucks fired griffin and hired rivers in less than in a year is an indictment of the organization. Once they started losing to the Celtics in the playoffs they have no idea how to right the ship, imo. I like and respect doc for what he did (Celtics 08 chip, making the clippers relevant) but he’s a good coach that failed to be great except for one year. The bucks are scrambling because they are the second best team in the east and it’s hilarious to me, a Celtics fan.

  11. And Mark Jackson can’t get a gig. He predicted Steph Curry and Klay Thompson would be the best backcourt of all time, and is right.

  12. All I know is… Don't let it be tied up and bucks got ball coming out of a timeout… Doc is Van Gogh drawing up plays. Issa bucket.

  13. Don’t think doc rivers is the most overrated coach in the nba. He has a good coaching record numbers wise. To me, he is the most disappointing coach of all time and has lost so many close ones 😂

  14. Doc Rivers always win during the regular season! The problem is when the playoffs get here! He will be up in a series and lose! Year after year this has happened! Go back and check? Each and every team this happened! Not sure he is the right person for the job?

  15. You lose Jrue Holiday and your defense is going to suffer. Rivers is a waste of space.

  16. I don't understand this hate towards doc rivers. I mean he's a record setting coach. The bucks may have championships, conference titles, an MVP…but they have never choked away a 3-1 lead. Doc can change that

  17. I have seen so many playoff serieses being blown because doc rivers cant make adjustments. I would rather see any young couch been given a chance that has a flexible mind

  18. THEY HAD A PROVEN COACH. MIKE WON THE 2021 TITLE. why is his title not the same as Docs title that he won almost 20 years ago.

  19. Doc Rivers did such a great job consulting coach Griffin he got him fired. Then he promptly replaced him. The Bucks deserve what they get. And I don't want to hear this crap that Giannis had no influence in these hiring/firing decisions. Of course the player and the team will never admit it. But Giannis IS in full "Lebron holding a team in hostage" mode witht threats of leaving.
This will most likely lead to further playoff failures for Doc and the Bucks and the new media narrative will tell us the "instability of coaches due to management decisions is why Giannis is leaving.

  20. he's definitely the best mid season coach they can get and best at coaching without plans so offseason doesnt matter. He lets players play i would worry for the future instead of now if they keep him long term

  21. idk, but this don't make sense to me at all….Doc will do NOTHING with them. Giannises "loyality" will cost Bucks that they will go in rebuilding process in 2 yrs. They fired Budenholzer just because Giannis said that he and players were "fed up" with him throu' yrs,and i cant believe that menagement brought "rookie" coach…and, again, because of Giannis,he got kick out. Now,what will Doc do here?? What he can do? His brain and mindset stayed in 2008 when he had luck and got that championship. He lives on that old glory wich is really old now. He will get kick in his a$$ right after season is over.

  22. I was wondering why Doc Rivers was kissing LeBron butt as much as he was, it was so he can get this coaching job. See reasons like this is why I stop watching NBA basketball among a bunch of other reasons, but this is just sad.
