Okay everybody let’s welcome John ROM the captain of Legion 13 welcome John I’m just going to start with tell us about your very first round at a live golf event was it different did you enjoy it yeah it’s uh it’s definitely a little different vibe uh but I quite

Enjoy the music you know it’s not too different to how we play at home uh a lot of us have especially the people I play with have golf carts with some pretty powerful speakers so if anything it was low compared to what I’m used to

Um so yeah it was great plus I mean I got paired with two the nicest people you can be paired with right Taylor and and cam are extremely nice uh and you know to then at it all and have a really good round uh too bad the last two holes

You know I feel like one of those Bogies 17 was avoidable 18 was just unfortunate but uh it doesn’t take away from how good I played those first 16 holes right um it was nice to you know get you know of the jump just get going and play good

Golf so it’s uh so far I’ll say it’s a very successful start great and there’s a lot of people here that want to ask you questions so I’m going to kick it over we’ll start in English and then switch to Spanish John you’ve obviously played a

Thousand rounds of golf but were you all nervous today starting out this new Endeavor and you know obviously a lot of attention focused on you yeah yeah yeah I could feel the pressure but it’s a good thing right it’s it’s weird you know you do get to pick a song

For the first te and I thought maybe it was going to help I don’t know if anything it gave it a little bit more you know the the heartbeat went a little bit up just from from hearing a song you like I’m like I don’t know I mean like I

Feel confident it’s almost add of pressure that it’s one of your favorite songs and it helped cuz man i h a great t-shot to start the day um but yeah I felt it right but after the t-shot on the second shot of making the putt it

Like you know felt like I settled in pretty nicely what about how you felt where your game was coming in were there any doubts at all I mean I think it’s almost impossible to be 100% sure yeah of how you’re going to play right uh but I’m always confident that I can

Perform and I think the the tail for me was how I stroke the the t- shots on one and two I mean those two were Picture Perfect drives and to start like that was uh something that obviously gave me a lot of confidence for the rest of the

The last few months so I’ve been really eager to get the golf going so it was just nice to to actually compete and do what I’m supposed to do right just be out there and playing golf so uh no I never really it was maybe earlier in the

Week when like all right you know things are starting got teammates right they’re asking me questions we’re playing practice rounds together right so it was a little bit maybe a Tuesday Wednesday Thursday feeling today if anything felt more like normal right just it’s it’s time to work and one last question for

Me was was there a time where you knew what nean was doing when when did you kind of realize that hey you know well I didn’t look at his scoreboard I didn’t see him early on and then when I was five under and I saw I was tied for

Fourth I was like well somebody’s I was five under through seven and I was third so I was like okay well clearly everybody’s going off I think it was on 12 when he was 9 there it was uh okay you know it’s impressive clearly I mean

Birdies are out there but you have to play a really good golf and that he did I mean that’s impressive I could see eight n on there but I would confidently say that I I would have bet a lot of money against the 59 here this week just

Because of how narrow the fourways are right you can make really good swings like I can say a couple of really good swings that just didn’t end up on the farway and then it a toss up in the rough right so um I don’t know what he stats were

But well he must have hit far ways or made a lot of putts whatever it is it’s a heck of a round and you know and what is it now 23 live golf events is a 58 and a 59 it’s pretty impressive hey joh normally a 5 under

Would be a great start to a tournament but when 12 under’s up there now and you only have two rounds left to go catch him is it add any extra pressure going into the next two rounds here knowing that you don’t have the the full three

For the 72 to go catch them no uh still a good round of golf I mean he played a historic round of golf right there’s a difference you still need two more rounds right so uh obviously we’re going to have to approach 20 on the par and

It’s doable I mean I played I played a really good round today right if I if I cleaned up my finish a little bit could have been a fantastic way to finish but obviously I didn’t right if anything I’m thinking more about that my my finish than thano did but again I think

If they win us in pickup we’re going to have to approach that 20 under which again it’s doable greens are in really good shape and if you can put the ball in the fway you can give yourself chances I think you only missed maybe three Greens in regulation what was

Working so well for you today with your approach shots uh you know the I don’t feel like I missed the farway by a lot so I was always close enough to the edge to where the rough wasn’t the thickest and uh from then on you just need to manage

Hopefully hit the right shot and keep it around the green um I feel like I had a really fair shareff for always was towards the end where you know I didn’t hit him on 16 17 18 but up until then I felt like off the tea it was it was

Really really good last one for me John did you at any point today check the leaderboard to see how Legion 13 was doing during your round yeah it’s it’s funny the first few times I was more interested in how the team was doing them myself which was definitely

Something new uh and I think cam caught me look and he said that I was like yeah I mean it’s crazy how you might care more about the team than than your individual right so uh yeah I I obviously kept up right obviously there’s three players that I want to see

How they’re doing uh not their best start but still two more days for them to to show what they’re made of um and even though it’s still early right I mean you get we get a barely barely ter professional player and and Kieran who’s now full-time here right so um it could

Be expected to have a little bit of um a difficult start but I feel like those two guys in Terell at some point are going to surprise a lot of people absolutely maybe not Terell because he’s done it so many times but those two guys
