The PGA TOUR continues up the California coast this week for the first mainland Signature Event of the season as Pebble Beach Golf Links hosts the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Rory McIlroy is making his 2024 debut on TOUR this week. The Northern Irishman has had a strong start to 2024 by finishing runner-up in the Dubai Invitational and then claiming victory at the following week’s Hero Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour. His best finish at Pebble Beach came at the 2019 U.S Open where he finished ninth. Reigning FedExCup champion Viktor Hovland will also be in California this week. It’s been five years since his historic T12 finish as an amateur at Pebble Beach in the 2019 U.S Open. He managed T13 at last year’s event and will be looking to build on his three wins on TOUR in 2023. Jordan Spieth returns to Pebble Beach where he has had great success with a win (2017), T3 (2021) and a solo second (2022) among six top-10s. He also started the season with a T3 at The Sentry just after the New Year. Others to look out for are Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, Tommy Fleetwood and Max Homa.

First tournament start in this event for Scotty sheffler that’s amazing all right it’s a good one go go go okay let’s see if the world number one can’t get something going with this club this has been the absolute to say something’s holding Scotty sheffler back was is crazy because he’s unbelievable

But when those start going in look out I love the look on his face that’s all you want to do is give yourself six foot uphill putts you’re watching the end of the second shot from Scotty Sheffer at two and a perfect leave in the Fairway cut short of the green there undulation

From that spot Scotty shefer off the birdie and he will go birdie Sheffer for birdie Probably 10 12 yd line of rough over there that prohibits the ball from getting down into Still Water Cove still a difficult driving all it’s going to play a good 11 or 12 up effectively about 230 yd good one with his hands and chipping skill you can pitch that one in drive it

In low spin it check it right that was not good seven T Scotty Sheffer ready to go looks like you can really throw it down from that t 111 yards look out same hole that Tony fow hit the driver on in the practice round on Wednesday okay

Sheffler yeah has a great second round scoring [Applause] average [Applause] 17 let check out our trackman Tracer technology Scotty sheffler here 6t Apex oh he’s got on the other side of the slope not much better than that H putter is woke is awake now sheffler T at 18 yeah he knows that’s good

Just rifles Along on on line think he’s going to be in a level B maybe yeah certainly not A+ yeah it does brilliant Heber look good Sher even better backto back birdies to finish in a 64 for Scotty sheffler number one in the world and number one on the leaderboard with two others

Here pretty boring scorecard eight birdies not a bogey on it and these nice conditions out there what were your strengths today Scotty yeah boring is always nice on the card keeping a clean card is good I I felt like I wasn’t I didn’t have to struggle for for many

Pars today I you know kept the golf course in front of me made some nice pots hit hit a lot of quality shots into the greens and um yeah I just gave myself a lot of opportunities it’s a very soft wet Golf Course when you have

A course like this does that alter your strategy at all compared to a firmer Golf Course for sure I mean it’s a lot different going into these greens than like my only experience on this course was in the US Open in 19 and it was completely different now I’m hitting you

Know nine irons from 120 yards whereas you know us open it’s a bit firmer and so it’s a bit bit of a different golf course but yeah it’s been fun so far this week thanks for watching the PGA Tour on YouTube to watch more click here to subscribe click here
