Jaxon is right to move but i don't totally agree. Trae Young does need another offense helping piece in Murry. Hunter still fits because again his shooting adds to the offense and it should be rewarded with pt. Let's all learn from the mistakes because the trading all happen and there wasn't enough offense help outside of the post for Trae leading to his big injuries and many of them. Ball hog undersized massive volume point guard who is a turnstile on defense….aka never gonna win it all and dudes don’t wanna play with. Plus even though he’s had great numbers through the last 25 games dude is inefficient and always has been. How this franchise passed on Luka for this pouty fruit bay…inexcusable by every measure. And any comparison to Steph….because idiots throw that out….need to stop. He can’t hold Steph’s jockstrap on his best day.
But again…doesn’t play D, doesn’t make other guys better, other stars don’t like or want to play with him because he needs to shoot a crapload and have the ball in his hands the majority of the time to be effective offensively to balance out how his embarassing defense that he’s never worked on or care about. Stat chaser, selfish, not a winner. This team would win more games with Dejounte running point and a guard that defends and can shoot next to him. He sucks because he’s off ball next to a guy that takes 35 shots a game and who thinks he’s Steph Curry (rofl). Smartest move is trading Tre to another small market team that will way overpay to sell tickets and have a “star”…and use the overpay assets to build a winning team. None of the top 10 teams would want this dude. Smart teams understand he’s fools gold. If the Hawks called the Pacers and offered Tre and 2 first rounders for Halliburton Indiana would laugh and hang up. So would Charlotte for Ball. Which sounds ridiculous considering on paper Tre is way better than Ball, but he’s not which is why his value is lower. Would Cleveland trade Garland for him? No, wouldn’t even consider it. You get down all the way to a guy like Coby White before a team would do a straight up swap with salary matching filler dudes. And they’d even think about that one for a bit before doing it. Jalen Johnson has way more value to a good franchise than Tre. And I bet if you took the top ten teams and said who would you want off Atlanta in order Johnson would be 1 and Murray would be 2 then Tre.
Hawks will be stuck in mediocrity at best until they get move on from the fruit bat ball hog who thinks defense is optional and doesn’t care about getting along with guys or staying composed and not pouting and whining and blaming his teammates when things aren’t going his way. There’s a reason why no one wants to play with him and no teams ever consider making a run at him to build around. Terrible franchise with a terribly overrated #1 who will have a terrible career postseason and winning wise because he’s terribly flawed.

Other than JJ, the entire team is tradeable at this point.
1st half – they usually start off great. Trae & DJ pass the ball around, the Hawks are not afraid to run and play semi defense.
2nd half – Trae and DJ want the ball ALL the time, and they want to shoot ALL the time. The entire team gets tired, and they just stand around on the perimeter waiting for Trae and DJ to heave up failing, stupid 3's. The whole team takes way too many 3's. They're not a good 3 point shooting team, and that's all they do in the 2nd half. We all know about their defense. NONE of them play it, either. DJ is the most overrated defensive player in the league as far as that goes. I was really looking forward to him playing, but he's a pitiful defender. Trae is well known for his suckage at defense.
Finally – they just have a losing attitude right now. I seriously feel sorry for Quin. They rarely do anything he tells them to do, and I'd imagine he's seriously regretting coming back to coach this train wreck.
I honestly think Trae has destroyed this team. You can just tell that the rest of the players don't even really like being around him. He cries to the refs after every shot he takes. His attitude is a cancer.

Trae struggling in the Heat series made the Hawks desperate for a second ball handler since the Heat completely trapped Trae and stagnated the Hawks entire offense. Fortunately for the Spurs, Dejounte had a good season and was named as a filler All-star and they were able to sell insanely high on him. Now after the dissapointing past few seasons the Hawks are in a very concerning situation. They don't have their draft capital to improve, they are stuck with Murray on a newly signed extension and if they sell him it would be for pennies on the dollar.
I see Hawks fans not even entertain the idea of trading Trae Young, and that's completely understandable. He's the franchise guy. However, there's very little the Hawks can do to improve their team without any assets and the road they are currently on, it's looking like it will get very ugly very fast and they will be forced to sell on Young with no more leeway. Rebuilding sucks but it feels even worse when you realize that you should've done it years ago before it got too late.

This trade has never made sense since the day it happened the Primary ball handler Hass to be Trae Young not Dejounte Murray. It’s two point guards it doesn’t work not only does it not work. The capital of gave up for Dejounte Murray is crazy. I don’t know why they just didn’t go out and try to get a wing that could score and shoot three pointers. That’s what they needed.

I have been a big Hawks fan the last two seasons, last season more so than this one. I usually have an opinion, but right now I'm completely stuck. This team should not be this bad, I have no clue how they should go about fixing it. One thing for sure is I care so much less this season now that John Collins is gone, he was the heart and soul of that team and you needed to find a way to keep him by any means necessary if you wanted to hang on to fans like me.

Anfernee, Scoot or sharpe is going to hit the market can’t keep all (possibly will be sharpe) and make him your 6th man with trading dejounte and Clint and try to get draft capital aswell. Possibly will have to take Ayton contract but with getting rid of those contracts you can afford to waive ayton if you could possibly get a high draft pick. Trade Bogi for a guy like herb to shake up the identity and replace Clint either with the draft, with a player like Alex sarr or trade the pick for a decent and a late pick
