Just past midnight East Coast time I’m Scott Fel this is Ryan Clark alongside and CJ st’s a guy we talked about all year long on countdown on Sports Center everybody talked about would he be ready for the closeup ready for this moment yeah I mean he answers in a resounding

Fashion yes and he and Nico hook up on that very first play I know there’s a lot to show us what best illustrates sort of who this guy is becoming well I think it’s about the Poise the composure but the execution in the big moments and honestly there’s no bigger moment than

That last Drive which we talked about where they were seven he was seven for seven but it’s also the first play now think about this this is the Houston Texans you haven’t been to the playoffs since 2019 and this is the first snap of the game you’re going to get a deep

Crosser here by Dalton Schultz and then you’re going to run Nico Collins on a post route now the guy that you’re going to try to affect is the safety here who is playing quarters you’re going to want him to be attracted to Dolton schs and if he is you’re going to throw the

Football over his head now watch as it starts he’s going to go underneath and so this should actually get the safety off of the coverage but because he doesn’t get off of the coverage you’re going to see if you look in the back field you’re going to get a nod to schz

And then the Deep throw over the head to Nico Collins it’s hit him right and stride there’s no way you stop that play in a quarter’s coverage like that especially if the safety doesn’t give inside help now I’m going to show you something sometimes you get these great

Plays and you think to yourself oh my God their coach is so good well this time Bobby wasn’t right or the players wasn’t right we going to get the same route he going to go here he going to go here this dude’s going to go here he’s

Going to go here we’re going to have a cluster fluff that CJ stra is going to have to figure out now when he gets in the pocket here these dudes ain’t open cuz these dudes is running the same route he running this route he running this route I’m not sure how much

Football you know but that ain’t supposed to happen but watch what CJ stra does to manipulate the pocket and find Nico Collins as he’s going to uncover here and streak across the field look at CJ St in the pocket he backs up he flips around he throws the football

He leads him out the diving catch by Nico and then you saw already Scott showed you they had the great throw where he’s in the pocket Stars down the barrel hit hits ni across the middle but without that play they don’t get to that point he was brilliant on that last

Drive but the missed extra point opened the door and it meant that the Colts could win with a touchdown and a made extra point now stien’s been brilliant all year as a play caller I thought Troy did a great job on the broadcast in reminding everybody look they throw in

These SP situations I believe the second most in the NFL and you made a really interesting point to me about who they Target in those spots Taylor’s on the sideline but that’s what is that’s what they do that’s what they’ve been doing throughout the season they throw the

Football and they hit the unlikelies mo Ali Cox fourth and one Tampa Bay Buccaneers they bring in a linebacker Z Franklin to play the fullback position fourth and one against the Tennessee Titans they run a Jet Sweep to kylin granson and then now in this game they

Come out the first snap they don’t snap the football they put somebody in motion to see what the coverage is it was manto man then you bring in Tyler Goodson and you have the perfect pick route called the football is a little bit behind him

And it’s a Mis catch now here’s the only push back I will give Shane Striker okay yep middle of the Season against Tampa Bay give it to Moi Cox M little bit later in the season against the Tennessee Titans early in the game you can give it to Granton when you get to

These moments players make plays and if they could not stop Jonathan Taylor the whole day you going to have to show me that they can stop her for one yard right there he had a 188 yards I get that he left with a heel issue I get

That he had been on the field and I get that he had just been stopped on Third and two but your point is if you’re about to go home if it doesn’t work I I’m handing it to 28 Scott I got to go home be me

That’s like you decide not to do braad bad beats one day and them taking you off the air if they stop if if they stop happening I promise we’ll stop doing it but they don’t stop happening I I hear you that’s but it was it it could have

Worked almost worked it could have worked but when you look at it there’s always going to be hindsight is 2020 there’s always going to be criticism it was the right call he had an opportunity to make a play but those players have to convert there and sometimes that’s why

Guys get paid a little bit more and Gardner said I’d throw it to goodie over and over again wish I gave him a bit better ball man that’s brutal way to have it go out but the Texans earn the right to play [Applause] [Applause] on

  1. LOL, the Sunday Night game between Miami and Buffalo is meaningless and pointless as the winner will go on and lose to the Texans in the Wild Card round anyways.

  2. Dolphins vs Texans Winner: Texans , Bills vs Texans Winner: Texans. This means the winner of the SNF between the Fins and the Bills will play to lose to the Texans in the Wild Card round.

  3. All the hype for the AFC East Clash between the Fins and the Bills will be a moot point and won't mean anything as the winner will just lose to the Texans in the Wild Card round anyways.

  4. Yoo that last Texans play had me heated. I was like noooo dont give them a chance with 1 sec left anything could happen 😂

  5. As a Texans fan I’m glad they didn’t run it one more time cause yeah we stopped em on 3rd and 2 but he did get a yard and that’s all they needed right then

  6. The Colts' ding-a-ling head coach BADLY mismanaged the clock at the end of this game. They needed to go for it on 4th down WITHOUT calling timeout first, to preserve all 3 timeouts for when Houston got the ball back if they did not convert the 4th down. And if they WERE going to call it, call it RIGHT AWAY after the 3rd down play. Instead, they tried to draw Houston offside while 20 – 25 precious seconds melted off the clock, and THEN they called the timeout–worst of all worlds. Lose precious time AND lose a precious timeout. That Colts coach should be fired for abject gross stupidity.

  7. Why are we acting like 2019 is soooo long ago LOL
“Haven’t been to the playoffs since 2019” …SO what???? That’s nothing

  8. This was a great game for the national audience slot and it was a well-played game to the end.

  9. Ima happy for the Texans and especially that black head coach sorry I don’t remember his name but I’m happy for y’all y’all earned it 😊❤

  10. Speaking from a Texans fans view, that ball to Goodson knuckled badly right at the end. That was like a late-breaking slider. That whole "If you can touch it, you can catch it" thing is right up there with "the customer is always right." It's an attitude slogan you say to make a point, it's not a literal truth. Just like Fairbairn and the Texans were unlucky to miss the PAT at the absolute worst time of the whole year, we were also pretty lucky that pass was one of Minshew's worst and Taylor wasn't used. That's sports.

  11. Without a doubt Ryan Clark is the best NFL football not just on ESPN but on all media platforms. His analysis is accurate and thought provoking.

  12. I picked up Stroud in September for my fantasy team. He proved to be better than Lawrence and Watson. He does need to learn how to slide feet first! That’s my only “criticism”. And then to dine out he was born at Lankanau Hospital, just outside Philly, where I used to work weekends during my high school days.

  13. I could see what Steichen was trying to do using an unassuming player. It was a good idea but, they’ll criticize him because he didn’t make the play.

  14. We got lucky. The only reason we won was because Goodson dropped the ball. They would have got a TD with their running game and won by a point thanks to Fairbarn. Fairbarn should send a bottle of champagne to Goodson for bailing him out. 😑

  15. Why. Do they keep saying Clinched, SNEAKED is more like it!!
Clinched is before the season ends. I don't know how much Football they know but this show sucks!!!

  16. Are you watching bears? A great QB can take a middle of the pack roster to a division title. Don't screw the pooch

  17. IT'S FAKE PEOPLE, OPEN YOUR EYES

GOODSON DIDN'T ACCIDENTALLY MAKE THE DROP BUT INSTEAD HE WAS TOLD TO FLOP AND THIS PLAY WAS DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR HIM BECAUSE JT AND MOSS DON'T NEED THIS TYPE OF DROP ON THEIR RECORD SO THEY PICKED A PLAYER WHO SUCKS TO BE THE PATSY.
THIS IS 100% PROOF THAT THE NFL IS NOW PREDETERMINED AND FAKE LIKE WWE. INDY WAS ALWAYS GOING TO LOSE THIS GAME BUT THEY GAVE THEM A GOOD OPPORTUNITY BY HOSTING THE CLOSEST THING TO A PLAYOFF GAME THAT'S NOT ACTUALLY A PLAYOFF GAME.
I TOLD PEOPLE ALL SEASON THAT THIS GAME WOULD BE A WIN-AND-IN SCENARIO AND AFTER AR FAKED HIS INJURY I KNEW HOUSTON WOULD WIN THIS BECAUSE THIS WOULD BE STROUD'S BIG INTRODUCTION TO THE WORLD AND I WAS CORRECT. INDY'S STORY IS NOW TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET IN THE PLAYOFFS MOVING FORWARD WITH AR AND WHEN HE FINALLY GETS THEM IN HE'LL HAVE HIS BIG INTRODUCTION TO THE WORLD.

  18. Why do they always have to be physically animated so much when breaking down a play on the screen? Like they're actually inside the screen, at the game, on the field themselves.

  19. Texans were never a bad organization Deshaun screwed them, which might have been the best thing for them

  20. If Colt's fans don't call out the head coach for his inept, ineffective, predictable, conservative play calling that has dominated the inability of the offense to have reasonable 3rd down short yardage situations, you deserve to lose. The coach has been this way about all year and it came to a head last night wherein again and again because he was all about run, run, run, they continuously had 3 and outs. Wake up!

  21. The colts gave you all the game bad coaching and minshew is very inaccurate Jt or Zac Moss should have been in to catch pass or jumbo formation run with JT ray charles could see this
