-You don’t have to bring — This is so nice. You — You brought me a gift. -Of course. You know, I think if I get 14 clubs for you, eventually you have to have me back, and you’ll have a full set. -Yeah, because last time — Last time you got me was —

Is a sand wedge, right? -Yeah. -Yeah. -Jimmy’s lucky wedge. -Yeah. -I got you a putter coming. It says “happy birthday” on it just because it’s really my birthday soon. -Okay. Perfect. Well, thank you for thinking about me. Yeah, I appreciate that. Oh, my name’s on this. -Yeah, it says, “Property of Jimmy Fallon.”

-Yeah. Do you see that? [ Cheers and applause ] -So sick. -Uh… -Looks pretty cool. -I appreciate this. Thank you so much. I always compliment your golfing every time you’re on the show because you are an amazing player. -Thank you. -When did it start —

When did you start playing? -You know, it’s my whole life. I started acting when I was 4. My dad taught me to play when I was 8. And I still do it, you know? It’s what I do. It’s — -But you crush it. -It’s really why

I’m on the show, right? It’s ’cause I play golf. -No! It’s your acting. No, I cannot wait. -He plays golf, too. He’s getting there. One day he’s gonna be a real golfer. Yeah. [ Laughter ] -Oh, my heavens. -No, you are a golfer. -I wouldn’t —

-You are a good golfer. -No, I show up. Yeah. But I do — [ Laughter ] -He does. -I enjoy the sport. I love the sport. Yeah. -That’s step one. -Thank you. -Showing up. -I saw something. I follow you on the socials, and I saw you hit this bunker shot.

-Which you had a good bunker shot, too, with Justin Timberlake, which is… -Eh, no big deal. Yeah. -It’s whatever. It’s just — -He’s a nice guy. Yeah. Uh, but you — Where were you? You were in England? -That was at the 151st Open.

I’m an ambassador for the RNA, and I was at the Liverpool. It was the hardest golf course I’ve ever played in my life. It was terrible. -The wind and everything? -Crosswind, into the wind, 500-yard holes. It was terrible out there, guys. I played terrible that day. [ Laughter ] -No, no, no.

But it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter if you played terrible because watch this shot — this bunker shot from Kathryn Newton. Watch this. -I’m gonna go bold on this one. Eight foot. [ Crowd exclaims ] -Oh, it may be in, may be in. It’s going in! [ Cheers and applause ] ♪♪ -Yes!

Yes! -Thank you. -That — -Thank you so much. I play — I play for show, you know? And I’m not a pro. -All of it goes away once you make one great shot. That’s all you need. And it keeps you coming back. -You know the drill. -While you were promoting

“Ant-Man” last time you were here, you said that you might be the best golfer in the MCU. -It’s true. I did say that. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You said that? -I said that. I was having a great day. [ Laughter ] I was feeling confident. -You were really cocky that day.

-I was feeling good. It was my birthday, again. Another movie birthday. -You challenged Tom Holland. -I did. -And you said, “I’ll challenge you.” And did he ever accept your challenge? -It’s still open. Maybe I could’ve been, you know, a little cooler, like less competitive.

Maybe just more like, “Maybe we could play some time. I’m looking for friends who play golf that are pretty good.” And I hear he’s — I hear he’s a great golfer. -He’s fantastic. Yeah. -Yeah. So… -Oh, maybe you guys can team up then. -Yeah. We’ll play from the same tees.

Level it out. You know. [ Laughter ] -You’re that good. Yeah. Really. -He’s good. He’s good. -Wow. -I think it’d be fun to play with him one day. -That’d be great. -Yeah. -All right. Well, when that happens, bring a video from that, and we’ll talk about it.

-You should come, too. You know? For the hype man. You know, give us the good vibes. -Why can’t I play with you guys? -You can play. [ Laughter ] -Hype man? -You don’t want to be my caddy? -I’ll be — your caddy? -Yeah. -I’ll be your caddy, yeah, yeah.

-Think how cool I’d be if I showed up with you as my caddy. -I would totally do it for you. -Gosh. -I’d do anything for you. -Oh, wow. -Let’s talk about “Lisa Frankenstein.” I’m excited about this movie. I’m excited for people to see this. -Thank you. -It’s you and Cole Sprouse,

Who’s another buddy of ours. We love him. -He’s amazing, yeah. -He’s a funny guy. -He’s a really funny guy. -Did you know Cole before this? -I was a big fan of the Sprouse twins, and I did meet him when I was 7.

I asked him for a photo at Bob’s Big Boy in L.A. -Wait. You’re talking about the… -Like, “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody,” like… -“The Suite Life.” -Yeah, yeah. -Yeah, “Suite Life of Zack & Cody.” -Who wasn’t, right? -Wait, so you met him

At a Bob’s Big Boy? -Yeah, it’s this diner in L.A., and they were sitting there, waiting for their table, just like me, and, um… [ Laughter ] I popped over, asked him for a photo, and of course, they said yes because they’re lovely.

And I never told Cole until, like, in the middle of filming, you know, I was — I tried to play cool. I would be like, “You know, I’m not a fan. We’re just actors on set. We’re the same.” We are not the same. -And then when did you start screaming?

You’re like, “I love you!” [ Laughter ] -I’ll do that at the premiere. -Yeah, yeah, good. -Give it to him then. Yeah. -Yeah. You said that he actually, um.. -Yeah, we met — We met on when he was shooting “Riverdale.” I was shooting “Supernatural.”

And he kept talking about wanting to photograph my poodles because he’s an amazing photographer. And I just kept holding it in the back of my head. And then finally, I was — called him. I was like, “Do you want to do a photo shoot?”

And he came to my house, just really low key, nothing really special. And he was… -This is a pretty stylish photo shoot, I will say. -Yeah, with the wigs. And they’re gonna be in “Teen Vogue” for our movie. And it’s very, like, camp, right? And our movie is about, um…

You know it’s kind of a crazy movie. And this girl, he came up with this narrative that she, like, kills her husbands and collects the poodles. So… [ Laughter ] It really set the tone. It was our pre-rehearsal. -Yeah. -I think it’s why we did a movie together. -Yeah. Uh… -Yeah.

-Let’s talk about “Lisa Frankenstein.” -Okay. -Okay. It’s written by Diablo Cody, who we love. How do we set up this movie? -How do you set up this movie? Well, it’s kind of like a new genre. You know, it’s a zom-com. It’s funny. What’s a zom-com? -It’s scary.

-Well, it would be a rom-com, except the love interest, Cole Sprouse, is dead, and he’s a renaissance man, really — Victorian era. And my character, Lisa Swallows is — you know, just wants a boyfriend so bad. And she’ll do anything to get one, including raising one from the dead. -Wow. -Yeah.

-I have a picture of you and Cole from the — from the movie. Look at this. -Yeah. -Got some good effects right there. Yikes. -Talk about it, yeah. -Yeah, you can tell you’re in love. Yeah. -You can tell I really like him. -Uh, what made you —

What made you want to do this movie? -Well, the director, Zelda Williams, she’s amazing. -Yeah. -She told me that she wanted to do something absurd. She wanted to do something that we’ve never seen before. And we’ve seen a lot of high school movies, and she wanted to take us to another world.

So if you do see this movie, takes place in 1989. I’ve never been to this world. It’s kind of like its own universe. And I wanted to take a risk and do something crazy. And let me tell you, I make some weird faces in this movie. -Oh, yeah. I will say, Zelda Williams,

The director, her dad is Robin Williams, who I just love, one of my favorite comedians — one of my favorite actors — one of our favorite humans of all time. The best golf, like, stand-up bit I’ve ever seen. -Yes, I agree. -He has the — yes. You’re totally right. Yeah. -So funny.

-I’m so excited to see this. I want to show a clip. Here’s Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse in “Lisa Frankenstein.” Take a look. -Are guys so simple that you just have to put on a pirate skeezer dress, and, suddenly, they want to talk to you? -Mm. -Oh. Well, thanks, I guess.

[ Chuckles ] How will I ever repay you? Hmm? Hmm? -[ Grunts ] -Well, I can’t just get you new parts. I mean… You’re a dead man. Not a Chrysler Lebaron. -[ Groans ] -Oh, I want to help you — I really do — but I don’t know how.

Besides, Taffy says it’s a waste of time to try and fix a boy. It’s better to just accept a guy’s flaws. -Yeah, that’s exactly right. [ Laughter ] [ Cheers and applause ] Kathryn Newton, everybody. “Lisa Frankenstein” is in theaters February 9th.

  1. Few years ago, i saw her in The Map of Tiny Perfect Things, Big Little Lies, Freaky. Terrific projects, i'm so happy for her success with those movies and TV shows. If Big Little Lies comes back for season 3, they better bring Kathryn back too. Let's roll with that!

  2. Jenna Ortega should have got the Lisa Frankenstein role would have suited her better I feel just saying don’t hate on me

  3. Cassie Lang had quite a year last year! But, I hope her father Scott is feeling ok after that journey. He’s feeling a bit delirious. 😅

  4. I need lessons Kathryn, now I have to check out your movies and I hope to see you on a pro am, watch out for Lexi

  9. i know i'm being pedantic here, but i take issue with a Frankenstein creature being referred to as a zombie. they're two entirely different kinds of monsters. it's like comparing a tiger and a tiger shark!

  10. Truly I do love Kathryn Newton’s acting , I mean yeah she got a lot of flack for Ant-Man 3 but she’s actually a really good actress
And a awesome golfer as well
