Danny Murphy and Dean Saunders alongside me here this morning in Cardiff and so too former fighter former boxer Enzo macarelli uh alongside us for the next 10 15 minutes or so as we continue h to talk boxing Enzo you retired what when you were about 36 37 uh 36 what are you
What are you now you’re 36 so 43 now 43 now Enzo marcarelli how have you found retirement to to be honest it it was hard uh when I first started and I can imagine it could be hard for other Fighters who’ve just left the sports who’ve gone to youve gone to the points
Of extreme e ecstasy on Fight Night with all the crowd chanting just such an extreme highight to nothing but the good thing with me was my dad was at a boxing gym uh and I always part of that gym so now I’ve taken over that gym so I’m
Living I wouldn’t say Liv my life for these boys but I’m I’m living their life with them watching these youngers come through did you ever think you would fight again yeah it was it was a couple of times um I got myself fat uh really
Fat I was about to sign and believe it or not I had a little car crash nothing nothing heavy guy went in the back of me totally fine uh and he he ruptured a disc uh in my back so I couldn’t I pretty much couldn’t walk for about 18
Months um it just tremendous pain so that that put a stop to it and that was that was a low point in my life but like I said I’ve got the I’ve got the youngsters uh I got 60 kids there got my own boys fighting as well and what I
Found with boxing you’re much more than a coach you’re a you’re a counselor you’re a friend you’re a you’re an uncle your big brother so it’s it’s it’s a full-time job which I don’t get paid for you know what you you fought till you’re 36 and I’m not just saying it now you’ll
Agree with me he hasn’t got one scar it’s nosy straight you ain’t got a mark on your fist in fact if you just said to me which one which one’s the heavyweight box or the world champion I’d say it was Danny Murphy he looks more like a boxer
Than you I make that I I take that as a massive compliment cheers Jeff you’re you’re not bashed up as a result of being in the ring all these years I’ve got my faculties I got my facy left that’s the main thing is it um the current cruiserweight Division I tell you what
It it’s got a number of big names in it and so and you’ll be well aware that Chris billum Smith uh going well Richard react Port again fr but not when they’re in the ring against each other J opay we’ve seen with this guy he’s he’s a
Destroy machine isn’t he I mean some great Fighters around in that division at the moment OB is a pick of the bunch and um you know I’m not um I’m not going to buy into him as of yet I can see the talent of him the standard that he’s
Fought the last couple of fights he he looks impressive he looks impressive but he’s fighting boys knowing year or just about top 10 in Britain and he’s number one in the world yeah the last two fights but he’s taken care of him like a number one in the world should so he he
Is a ridiculous he’s a ridiculous talent and I see him as the number one at the moment but he’s got a tough fight with brdes next uh I seen he took the title off brus in the first place uh he started fast bradus come into it later on bradus always complained he was
Something wrong with him at night so we will see that’ll be a a tough fight but he’s number one Rak B bam Smith going to be a really good fight Grudge Match ban Smith wants to avenge that loss as well and he’s the champion so it’ll be a
Great fight and light heavyweights Josh batti against Dan aiz this Saturday and it’s live in talk sport good pals but not that night who wins it this is this is a great fight Dan aiz have impressed me over the last couple of years he’s a he’s a throwback fighter he models
Himself on a throwback fighter in Marvelous Marvin Haggler one of the Grits uh but Joshua brti has undoubted talent and I think if I’m GNA pick a winner you’re not sure I really not if I am going to pick a winner yeah I’d have to go watch I think
His talent will tell over in the end but I’m not 100% confident it wouldn’t surprise me if uh Dan aiz comes on strong and wears him down but we’ll have to see it’s a great fight and so they are good pals did you ever fight a
Friend um no not really a friend I think when I when I won against Mark Hobson we become friends then we had to fight again um and it was I sort of I wouldn’t say it was a strange feeling because he was in my way
It it was sort of he he was in my way he was blocking my way so you know we we un grown up together but I did class him as a friend did class him as a a good pal uh we talked on the phone but when we
Had the rematch again he was in my way so yeah I I was one of them I had no no nothing else but tunnel for us I wanted to I want you just think when as these two think when they play darts before we go to today you know you know what you
On a serious not is thinking Murphy destroy well yeah my darts arve if you they don’t come when I played against people I knew really well I found it I found it all right I find it quite comfortable it didn’t cuz I knew everything they were going to do there
Was no surprises right cuz I trained with them so much and I played you know even coming up against probably the best midfielder in my lifetime which was Stevie G when I played against him when I’d left I didn’t have the fear fact of him the same way because I knew every he
Don’t mean you can always coope with it but you know you know what he’s got and I suppose this is him in boxing yeah in your in your game obviously Talent can get you to the top in football but it’s your attitude and your determination
That keeps you at the top so is it the same in boxing I mean 100% give me a hardworking boy over a talent that doesn’t work hard% you know we we talk about Mayweather yeah but if the hard worker hasn’t got talent even even the one who
Doesn’t work that hard if he’s got more Talent can deal with that 100% but to to certain extent these 12 round fights if you’ve got a talented boy who doesn’t put the roads in doesn’t put the miles in the road doesn’t put the rounds in
The B doesn’t do the rounds in the get out come 8 n 10 you’ve got this you’re not you’re not going to be fighting for a title unless you’re half decent so it’s not like it’s not like a guy off the street so come that 910th round if
That talented boy hasn’t worked hard and this not so taled by has worked his worked his socks off he will come on strong and then you will find out month in Saudi uh you say Fury is Fury too big I think so I’ve I’ve always said it um
I’ve always said he’s too too big and too good at what he does and people people are just banging on about the the enanu performance which let’s be honest was a terrible performance he looked like he hadn’t trained I doubt he had trained and if he’ have lost that night
It would have served him right but that has probably kickstarted him and focused him on the challenge ahead he will not be taking usk likely and I’m a big usk fan I think usk is brilliant I just think TI is just too B I mean the transition from Cruiserweight to to
Heavyweight that usk has made he he’s done it almost seamlessly it seems he he done it seamlessly it’s his style of fighting he’s not he didn’t use his weight to beat people as a crew’s weight he didn’t wear them down he didn’t uh marud them he was he’s a thinking
Fighter he TI you out through through brain cells you make your brain cells and your mind just keep working and working and working without actually doing nothing come round six round seven round eight that that mental fatigue will play his part and then he take over so that’s that’s what he’s been doing
Pretty much as as a professional I think you’re loving life now um you’re out the ring but you’re in the gym and you’re in with other Fighters that that’s where you want to be Enzo isn’t it no i’ rather I’d rather be in the ring hitting
People I will be honest but no I look I’m enjoying I’ve got a good squad um I got I got a couple of lads that help me as well Rob Williams douy dead Man without them things won’t be running as smoothly I do the coaching they look after everything else I’ve always tried
To do it on my own so it’s it’s been great to have bit of fun you’re a swy boy aren’t you I am a jack yes I’m a jack and Dean sers you both you you both speak exactly the same the the Accents in Wales are all different though aren’t
They Cardiff is different to to Swansea metha tidal’s different to real reom and rexam I mean it’s it’s all different you say look out there in the patch at the patch I’m to show you how it goes in Cardiff they say uh that is remarkable right and in Swansea you say REM
Remarkable oh you oh I see so Swansea people let’s get this right are more Posh than Cardiff people are the ends not Posh well I wouldn’t say that they they drag their eyes on remarkable yeah yeah they they drag their eyes in Swansea they don’t but
Like you were saying earlier in lle 8 mil further on completely different accent re completely different so but you must have noticed when you come over the Seven Bridge the air is different in Wales you must have noticed man cleaner it’s cleaner is it the air
And it’s lovely it is Lov it’s a great it’s a great City Cardiff we’re delighted to be at Enzo it’s so good seeing you mate it’s been too long and I’m glad you’re doing well and keep it going in the gym because you you’ll be a great teacher you a great fighter but
I’m I’m sure you’re you’re you’re going great guns just still in the subject of uh boxing Simon’s big pal Eddie Hern we’ll be live on Drive later on today so we hear from Eddie Hern uh on probably all matters Ag and a whole bunch of things as well Enzo maranelli with us
Here in the principality and we are live in Cardiff

When Fury wins the haters will say Usyk was only a cruiserweight any way. π
if fury can still make a rhythm and break that rhythm and do it over and over again it'll be a great fight
Would agree Nick, but there are levels in boxing that seperate the ordinary from the exceptional.
fight ain't happening …….
If fury is banking on his size then he is in serious trouble. Size does not matter!
Typical English so called boxing fans love Joshua whose been beaten multiple times and hate fury whose undefeated and the complete boxer
Usyk is too skilled for Fury.
No Simon, No Show
Its a 60/40 Fury
Fury fighting ngannou was genius. Put in a awful performance so more people are gonna be interested in this fight
Big fan of Enzo, he was always a decent fighter back in the day. But I have to respectfully disagree with him regarding Uysk v Fury.
Tbh I was picking Usyk to win, even before Fury fought Ngannou. Yeah, Fury's big and knows how to fight dirty and get away with it. But he's never faced anyone with the footwork, fast hands and ability to attack from all angles like Usyk can do.
Fury Will batter Alexander Usyks body for the first 3 rounds. Round four Usyk will try to protect the body and head will open up
π£οΈ
Fury reminds me of Conor at the press conference with Khabib.
Usyk has maybe three rounds to get it done and lets face it that's not gonna happen.
Lets have more Enzo on The Station please
That narrative was the same when Fury fought Ngannou. He isnβt that much bigger and Usyk wonβt allow TF to lazy box.
Usyk on points for me
The Welsh prat gets every bout wrong…usyk stops him late or by points..gutted as when the odds came out a year ago…usyk was 4/1..now evens…
I thought AJ was too big?
Dean Saunders π Danny looks more beat up
This furyβs too big thing is stupid, Usyk has constantly beat heavyweights bigger than him
Love enzo,class act
Best of luck to both men.. and to all the Fury haters shouting that he will pull out… keep clutching hater!!
Id agree if not for the fact Fury has looked absolutely crap in his last fights
As always boxing offers very little data to work with. But Fury's resume in the last 5 yrs is imo substantially more questionable than Usyk's. I really rate Dubois and AJ is very good. Wallin is pretty average at best based off that AJ fight, Wilder is a poor boxer with one trick (a trick that Fury failed to avoid a good number of times), Whyte has a glass chin and is pretty average.
And the size advantage Fury has has been particularly effective against fighters with poor footwork, like Wilder and Whyte. Usyk will be in, out, round the sides, and he'll likely be able to do that for the full 12 rounds. I'm not sure I can see Fury knocking Usyk out. So I think Usyk at 11/8 is a solid bet…. he should be the fav imo.
Usyk makes it look easy
If Fury comes in sloppy like he did against Ngannou, he is getting laid out.
Stupid argument. Was Valuev too big for Haye?
If Fury cuts off the ring, uses his speed and sharp combinations, his size will help, but its only the cherry on top it will not be the winning factor. Smaller fighters have beat bigger fighters, it shouldnt matter, Usyk is skilled enough.
Love from Swansea Enzo mucka β€
Fury to big for Usyk π π like Fury to big for Otto and Cunningham π π who both are garbage fighters π Usyk will take him to school
best for boxing if usyk wins and ngannou wins? New era is needed !!!!
Enzo did NOTHING like usyk has david haye smashed him to bits
Fury should of went to Peter fury for this fight . Git some sparing from hugie fury just like the good old days
Didnβt a lot of people say Joshua was too big and strong for usyk? think Aj is physically stronger than fury, think usyk will be way to fast and skilled for fury,
Big up enzo quality to hear from him ππ₯
Usyk will make fury look slow
Fury is about as overrated as a boxer ever has been.
Ask yourself "what does fury do that's exceptional in a boxing ring". The answer is nothing.
Aside from being large he's a very basic upright uk club fighter. No jab. No power. Basic footwork. Mediocre chin. Mediocre speed. Shhh, recovery is different than chin and yes I grant he has great recovery.
Sure, being that size and having basic skills can take you far when you're fighting the same slow virtually unskilled one punch mauler. Still, he hasn't found an answer to well timed overhand rights to this day for instance.
Usyk is smarter, faster and more driven. He's far more skilled and there's nothing Fury does better than Usyk in a boxing ring. Nothing.
You uk guys are going to have to let go of your typical delusional nonsense when it comes to this one.
Fury is getting dominated, embarrassed and exposed as the true GOAT of empty resume hype jobs who finally got schooled by a true master boxer.
14/1 on a draw for me π
Usyk wins straightforwardly. I'm telling you!!
He wasnβt to big for Otto was he π
good fighter did well but David Haye ko ed him that was his big moment
you should get macrinelli on more often he talks sense and is smart
Murphy not to happy about that comment π
This will be usyks easiest fight
