How to Eliminate Big Numbers – Golf Course Management with LPGA Tour Player Sandra Gal

Hi everyone, Sandra Gal here! In my latest video, I’m excited to share with you my strategies for golf course management. This is especially useful if you’re looking to cut down those big numbers from your scorecard.

I’ll be discussing how to categorize each hole as Bogey, Par, or Birdie, based on your skill level. This approach helped me significantly during my time on the LPGA Tour, and I believe it can make a difference in your game too!

In the video, you’ll learn how to adopt a strategic mindset for each type of hole – when to play it safe and when to be aggressive. This isn’t just about improving your scores; it’s about playing smarter and reducing stress on the course.

I’d love to hear how this strategy works for you. Try it out and let me know in the comments how your game improves!

Hi friends this is my first video in my series around course management and today I’m going to be talking about defining the holes that you play on a golf course according to Bogie par or birdie and what this does is set your expectation a realistic expectation of

What you can achieve on that whole according to your skill level so when I played on tour uh and I’m going to again next year which I’m very excited about I went through my practice round and I would Mark at the top right hand corner of my

Yardage book whether that hole is going to be a power or birdie hole now for you I’m including bogy because maybe you’re a 15 handicapper and bogy right now is a reasonable score for you until you get better so when I marked down a power

Hole what that meant for me is that I’m going to approach it with a little bit more careful or a little bit more conservative strategy I might just hit three off three would off the tea if the Fairway got more narrow where my driver would land and then I’d be okay with

Hitting a longer Club to the middle of the green making two putts and walking off with a par because that hole was just difficult and Par was going to be a good score through the overall field and maybe also just for me because I wasn’t quite comfortable with a T-shirt t-shot

And that’s okay because I know there’s going to be many many more opportunities for birdie for me on some other holes so the holes that I marked down as birdie those were the ones where I would play slightly more aggressive I would take the driver and then I would aggressively

Attack the pin because maybe I only had a pitching wedge um into the green and that’s kind of a green light for me gozone we want to go at the pin and make birdie now that doesn’t mean you will always get the score that you set out

For but it does Define the strategy for you and the reasonable expectations for you so I would highly suggest that you try this as well and I think what you’re going to see is that you’re going to eliminate the big scores so instead of trying one strategy over and over on a

Hole that doesn’t suit your eye let’s say it’s a par 4 and there’s water around the green and you might not be long enough to hit something less than a three-wood into the green and you’re bringing water into play and every time you end up making a double or the t-shot

Is really uncomfortable for you because there’s something on the left hand side and maybe you’d be better off hitting a three-wood but you just keep sticking to that strategy because you really want to make that par but what if you said hey bogy is good enough so you might tee off

With a three-wood or a fivewood even to a spot that’s wider where you’re more comfortable then you might lay up and give yourself a wedge into the green now what happens is you’re playing Str stressfree golf because you have to find the strategy for yourself that you’re

Comfortable with and then you have a wedge in and you have two putts or maybe you’ll even sink the Putt and make an accidental par and that’s great so walking off with par of bogy I mean with bogy what you set out to as your strategy that’s kind of what we want but

You’re not walking off with a double because you’re not matching your real IC abilities at this moment as well as your comfort zone I’m not saying we shouldn’t push our comfort zone we do we might still not be 100% comfortable and that’s okay we’re always pushing our comfort

Zones playing the game of golf that’s just by definition true but I think we’re creating a structure around our expectations and we’re eliminating big numbers and that’s what this lesson is about so go Define your home and let me know how it goes let me know

How your scores improve and I will see you in the next video thank you
