Okay cart so one of the main Search terms that I’ve seen pop up recently is talking about a certain player’s elbow right one guess of whose that is but it really pertains to this down swing move getting into this position right who are we talking about are you talking about

Multiple tickets to increase your chances good luck everyone who are we talking about are you talking about Ben Hogan buying a Chan it’s still a golf swing that golf coaches and amateurs all just kind of are obsessed with aren they are it’s an incredible move but it’s an incredible
Move that a lot of golfers don’t fully understand how it’s kind of working and the benefits of having it and also as well I think being able to do it which is the right elb that we’re talking about stops a lot of golfers from kind of starting that transition from here
Yeah which is what a lot of golfers do they they’re effects of most amateur golfers are a right shoulder we’re going to be talking a little bit more about right elbow in that first first transitional move so in the go s what we’re trying to do here is we’re trying
To get the arms which is what I call the spin we’re trying to get the arms matching matching the bod matching the body so the shoulder movement trying to match the arms down as you turn and then the hold on the right side can apply CH
Pressure and B pressure to it but if you get your arms back here you can’t apply that shaft pressure face pressure too can you that’s majority of tra behind it you will be if you haven’t got the connection of the right arm and that’s why I said H Hogan says that the right
Arm should be able to two right hand he says three in the book but an actual fact we know that was Warren wind’s idea to actually embellish it put three with two right arms he said so and the left arm is just that’s so if we can get if we can get
That’s why we talk about loading this which is the C handed here and then from here the right shoulder is in position so now we’re lowering the club into plane as we are turn yeah absolutely and for the guys at home let’s show them what we see all day every day with the
Recreational golfer who’s struggling with their ball striking Point some observations out for us here mate it’s a real Beauty you got that I’m fishing I’m fishing okay so elbow position for a start the obvious one is the elbows pointing straight back behind you we’ve got loads of space here between Elbow
And and the rib cage park a car in there okay and as a result of that we generally tend to lose this angle a little bit more as well yeah okay even from here you tend to then get right right shouldered kind of all sorts of
Either over the top or leaning back and at the moment of impact we do see uh a commonality between that position and at the time we strike the ball where the lead shoulder be quite high and this front arm would be across the body now the old back certainly nowhere near
Hogan that’s just a passenger holding on for dear life isn’t it he is holding on for absolutely you couldn’t be more accurate so this player this this player mate might be the scooper right they’re not hitting the ball very far lots of Loft lots of spin it’s really not coming
Out with that fizz that they’re looking for no compression high ball flight fat shots suppos them shots as well we really really got those hands going everything under the sun a bit of everything so what’s theam what’s the exercise how can plays at home work on
This right okay so if you take your back swing for me go to the top of the back swing we know that Carol’s got a faultless back swing so we’ll go straight up there keep those compliments going so he’s got full term full rotation the first move as he was as you
Were saying that kind of elbow starts to want to come out in that direction so for me I would want to see a lot of my players start bringing this elbow the feeling is that it comes to the you got the seam of a t-shirt I always feel like
It’s coming to the right the inside of it M so as you’re coming down there that would that would effectively work inwards as the as the club starts to come back down now what we’re doing here is we’re maintaining this angle cuz I see a lot of golfers get a little bit
Overly obsessed with lag oh yeah yeah and when we get lag exactly what you just did then we get CED okay so I think when we’re talking about this we are going to digress a lot into other areas that kind of H happen because of it but
As that elbow starts to kind of move move in towards what I I can get it to the right of your belly button there a bit of an extreme feel the club just then tends to sit down a bit better does this right this right hand position for right the golfer stays
A little bit more hinged but what we also find from here as the arms start releas working downwards what starts to happen is this left hip starts to open up yeah for sure through movement of the upper body the right side in particular in this case pressure moves towards the
Left but it also moves as you open and that’s one of the key things the kind of it’s without going into like giving yourself 10 swing thoughts a lot of these sort of moves if you move the body correctly pressurizes the the weight and the correct position and then allows you
To get that rotation I think a lot of it has got to do with intention right and where a lot of players do go wrong on this sort of feel or this exercise is they’ll get to the top and they’ll just drive the elbow in front of their belly
Button like that but the lean shoulder is getting high now what carts just said there is at the top really the feeling and I think I don’t know if I’m creating or making up this visual right now is almost like the back arm so the right
Arm for the right hander the elbow is going down towards the Lead Foot at the same rate as we’re shifting our pressure forward and we can see that is unloading nicely underneath like primed and ready that is primed I’m feeling coiled we certainly don’t want to be in this
Position guys where we’re trying to just purposely drag that elbow in front as much as possible yeah that’s a cosmetic just mbour needs to go that way yeah quick take a photo send it to my mates got flag up yeah 100% you’ll be kind of working that working that right side working that
Right elbow down towards the kind of the right side of your right side of your stomach yeah as as you’re doing so you start to kind of create that rotation and obviously pressure as well at the same time yeah beautiful okay so starting off with a practice plan for
The players who want to work on this at range they freeze frame themselves arms are stuck behind we don’t go at full speed do we we never so if you’re practicing I saw tiger was doing this on the Range I was like I was in awe of
Watching we just hit these like 25% 7 yeah now what I would say digress again that’s what I do loves a CH what I would say most amate goers that we’ve coached in the past will always say I can’t swing slow yeah the reason you can’t swing slow is because
There’s too much manipulation going on and correction on the way down the better players the lower handicappers can swing slow because there’s less manipulation going on absolutely the better your movement the better your Technique the better your swing the least you correct it therefore you’ll find it easier to actually swing slow so
If you’re a player that thinks you can’t swing slow think about it a little bit cuz you can yep but it’s really hard to get a good strike on it so working on these movements going down to 25% tee the ball up is key also another little
Great drill you just take your set up for me pop that pop the glove hand behind your back just go right hand only go right arm only give yourself a big turn don’t one thing as well I see a lot of golers do they forget to turn so even
On these drills make sure you get a nice big rotation that’s nor nice big rotation there it is but what you can feel now you can start to narrow this gap between Elbow and rib cage as you pressure into your left side there you
Go so you just start to feel it now the club obviously feels quite heavy in your hands when you’re doing something like this therefore I think onehanded is good to maximize the feel yeah yeah and it’s a sort of drill as well can’ts jump over here cuz I’ll Clubby you even just
Starting off with and you don’t have to hit balls here guys but just very small one-handed swings because the weight of the golf club head is significantly more than the handle if you’re just using backhanded only little exercises here you’ll start to feel a flow of the
Weight of the head kind of fall behind you and if you were to film yourself from face on if you strike that ball reasonably well well that arm would definitely be more in front of your body than rather back behind okay mate so you get that nice little light draw that you
Just demonstrated oh yeah perfectly you went past that without W to talk about that little do they know I edited that 50 times all right so blending this into I’m not going to try and drag this elbow in whatsoever what I’m going to do is
I’m going to be very aware of that arm at the top of my swing feel like it is unloading and coming down in front without try movement down isn’t it pull it in yeah very very important here guys that we’re also being aware of where the pressure is shifting a nice little
Reference would be down in that ball of foot as you start to make your way down towards the golf ball let’s not one out here into the Setting Sun that is back drop you just love it brother tremendous
