How biomechanics can improve your putting
Hi everyone my name is joh putting coach here at Le Academy so I want to put a little video together for everyone to talk about getting consistency in that putting so the biggest thing that I see first off in most ANS putting is an inconsistency in setup and generally
Routine as well so setup is a the biggest thing we can do to gain consistency on our put stroke via biomechanics so what I mean by viome mechanics is allowing the body to create these these positions and these Pathways consistently by itself so we’re influencing the the path of the putter
By the way we set up to the golf ball rather than us having to instroke manipulate the hand or to get the ball to where we want to go so the biggest thing that we’ve got to think about is the putter itself how it works so if we
Look at the putter we’ve got the head the handle and the shaft the biggest thing where concer about is obviously what this fits doing so the thing that you’ve got to be aware of is the head and the handle are separated by a bit of space here so if we were straight back
Straight through puts the handle would have to be directly over the head like so now unfortunately if as human beings how we’re build that would mean for that to be consistent we would have to be like this now clearly that’s not going to work so
We are going to have to work with the L angle of the pter so it’s generally around about 70° so from here the putter is going to have to work like this which means the putter has to work on an arc which means an into to in stroke so from here a nice
Generalization is you hear it a lot of the times trying to get your head over the golf ball so your ey line over the golf ball now there’s a little bit two and throw with that which we could go into later but from there I would like
To get generally people shoulder wh for part with that St now what that does is that gives us a nice Foundation to work up so your lower half is going to be pretty put because if I started to use the hip line we can see how much from
The from the line I put it how much that could go left and right for us so in a putting stroke that’s this happening okay open closeing the face we obviously don’t want that so we’re going to get shoulder wh forart weight in the balls
Of feet not too much in the heels cuz that will provoke an inside path too much on the toes outside and from there little bit of Bend in the knees to to get some stability now depending on what we have I generally have the ball in the
Middle of the stance okay that’s to promote that the club comes back to its low point so instead of hitting up and hitting the bottom of the golf club or vice versa too low but also think about the arc again too far forward it would
Send the PT left too far back it would send it right cuz if the circle that that Arc is on so from middle of the stance we’re going to get a nice straight spine angle over the ball we don’t want to get crunched over that’s going to
Influence tilting in the stroke we want to make sure that we’re nice straight back angle so if I got my ball here out on my ey line I should be able to drop it and generally be over the ball so from there if we can do everything
Together there I would like to try and get people have their arms tucked in I don’t like to see the arms straight because we can we can disconnect and do a bit of drama there so from here arms connected in keep your eyes over that golf ball and let the ball body just
Turn it shoulders turn it shoulders so you can see that by that put great alignment of the putter face and generally through and through the shot so give that a try let’s see that consistency you put an increase and if you need anything else to come and see us go the cies
