The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Detroit Pistons, 130-108 and move to 6-30 on the year. Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs with his first career triple-double, totaling 16 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists, and 0 turnovers as Keldon Johnson added 17 points. Jalen Duren led the Pistons with 21 points and 12 rebounds. The Pistons move to 3-35.
Since 1977-78 (when turnovers were tracked), Victor Wembanyama (20yr, 06d) becomes the youngest player in NBA history to record a triple double with 0 turnovers, previously: Andre Iguodala (21yr, 54d), Mar. 23, 2005.
Wembanyama is the second player in NBA history to record a triple-double while playing under 22 minutes, joining:
Russell Westbrook (Mar. 4, 2014 β OKC v PHI: 13 PTS, 10 REB, 14 AST)

Why does the NBA keep giving Chet the rookie of the month when Wemby is the more spectacular player with better stats? OKC is a far better team than San Antonio. I don't think that put Chet over Wemby.

This really is insane what we're seeing here… not only a 7'5" player who can move, handle the ball, and shoot the way he does… but this video clearly displays how incredible of a passer/distributor he is, as well. This highlight video makes it look like he played point. A triple double with 0 turnovers in only 21 minutes… at 20 years old?? Absolutely incredible.
