COBRA Vintage and 3D Printed Putters Showcase High Tech Looks and Great Feel

Cobra is serious about putters. Their latest release, with two model lineups is proof positive of that fact.
— The new Vintage lineup includes three blades and three mallets in tour-proven shapes that are MIM-shaped from 304 stainless steel, a manufacturing process that Cobra is familiar with, having used metal injection molding for recent iron releases.
— At the other end of the spectrum, the 3D Printed line of putters aims to pack as much of Cobra’s technology and innovation into these heads as possible and ensure the consumer can see said technology. The heads are constructed in the same MIM process as the Vintage line; however, key areas of the heads have been hollowed out and replaced with a 3D-printed nylon lattice structure, which allows weight to be relocated to boost stability on off-center strikes.

This is bigger than my backyard putting green this is bigger than what this backyard here in California y I have a small backyard Jose miraflor from Cobra Puma golf old friend of mine and uh longtime industry veteran we’re not disclosing our ages but we’re going to talk about

We know a lot right so we’ve been around you know a lot about golf clubs and putter yeah and and and so do you so I’m happy to talk to you about these things we this year have two two two new putter lines they’re the same names it’s a

Vintage putter line and a 3D printed putter line some differences this year though so the first putter line you’re going to recognize classic shapes cuz that’s what vintage is right but there’s a lot of technology that we put into these now so the first thing you see is that there’s

This insert in here this is actually a paback material it’s somewhere between a softer Rubber and a harder reslin type of of plastic so it’s a it’s a nice softer feeling insert and it has a classic shape that’s made out of uh metal injection molding so it’s MIM

Shaped so you look at these lines P they look like very fine Mill lines so it’s very precise looking it’s actually part of this metal injection molding process that we’re using on the stainless steel that makes it so precise you can have Milly lines underneath you can tune this

Putter it comes with 25 G weights you can make them heavier to 20s or 25s or lighters down to 10 or five you can tune a Putter’s weight for you so you can get the right speed the right seal in your hands three different blades three different tow Downs for fitting the

Sport line has some great interesting looking mallets this one is the stingray it features a new alignment system that goes all the way to the front so for guys like me who use a line on their golf ball you need a long line like this

So both both your lines are are on the same length or same direction now you know you’re aligned at impact so we’re trying to help people align the the golf ball well then we move into the the 3D printed line and this is where we like

To show off a lot of what we’re doing that’s more futuristic we’re using 3D printing to create uh more stability if you do hit it off center this this Agera is one of the most stable Putters you can buy in the marketplace how do we do it well

We start with a 3D printed lattice system it relieves weight from the center but not only does that it’s attached to the front of the putter so it gives you tuning your feel and then this inserts different from the other one this is 6061 aluminum so that’s aircraft grade aluminum and it features

A little firmer sound than the softer packs insert in the Sportline so we have a whole line of 3D printed Putters this one is is the is the Grand Sport so it is a version of a blade that you can see but people will if you come closer you

Can see that inside these thick pads we’re actually using a nylon system that relieves weight still helps to tune feel it features a carbon fiber alignment system and enough waiting so we can make it a little bit wider give you some stability cuz again we’re using the 3D printed system for delivering stability

But when you put it down it’s just a classic looking blade isn’t it yeah and and uh I’m sure you have all sorts of player feedback on feel sound oh yeah oh yeah and that’s why we developed this year uh the ability to give you different feels and sound some people

Like softer sounds some people need that response and need it to be a little bit firmer so that’s why we make two different ones typically you come in here and they want to look at certain things but then you work on the stroke and you’re kind of helping them hone it

Down to what’s the right head style for alignment what’s the right fa uh toe down for face return a square and you’re helping them get to the right Place
