A lot of fans a lot of sponsors that um da da da so this is the second year in the row that I volunteered and they didn’t use me this year um this year they had they ended up selling more seats than usual and therefore they utilize more staff members so they
Contacted a few of us volunteers and said they actually didn’t need us and that was fine um I took them at their word and I I found out from a secondary source that that was indeed true last year I got pulled for a different reason
That I won’t get into here I’m not sure if I’ve ever talked about it publicly but I I think I shared about it once on the stream but I won’t get into it today um but let’s just say last year I was also scheduled to volunteer and they
Pulled me for a much different reason so then this year when they pulled me I had to make sure it wasn’t the same reason and I was assured that no there that their reason was fine so it’s fine I hope it went well I’m glad it went well
Like I trust it went well Gail and I went out for a nice dinner instead using for dout Vancouver because Sean and Jake were in a meeting Kayla was at a party um so therefore um yeah GA and I were able to enjoy a nice night together so I
Did not go to the dice nice uh Sarah to answer your your questions um yes you can volunteer but the the Canucks for both for the Jake Milford golf tournament and dice ice they already have a very very limited number of volunteers and it’s volunteers that basically they use um for those two
Events every single year I’m very lucky at least I was to be part of that that crew um and I guess I’m still I’m in their good books because they did invite me to volunteer despite the fact they had to resend the invitation after I accepted
And made plans but that’s okay I’m not I’m truly not bitter at all I really hope it went well I had a nice night but if they resend my U my my application next year then I’m going to have to talk to someone and fre fure out what is
Going on and we went to guyaku in Richmond um we went to guuk Kaku in Richmond that’s where he went Sarah but thank you that was nice and nice that was a nice easy one the conu lines today at practice no change to their forward lines but there
Was a slight change in the de pairings so if we look at Brendan bachelor’s um tweet from earlier today he so the practice lines were like I said the forge were the same mck Pon and Kenco suder Miller and besser why hatrick for PS shooter last night so good Joshua
Bler and Garland and the fourth line I C the hall pass line hall HL hog glander Oman lafy and lenus Carlson as the extra then then on D it was Hughes and heroni Cole and Myers and zidor and julson with fredman being the being the the healthy or the seventh
Defenseman so what’s really interesting about that are is um what’s really interesting about that is Zadora technically I I think we’d all agree that Zadora of julson is the is the third line and if that’s the case then zadorov technically got um got bumped he got uh relegated to the third
Line because I believe believe the way they skated yesterday wasn’t it Hughes honic zidor of Myers Coen julson correct me if I’m wrong but I thought it was zidor of of Myers on the second line and then Coen Json on the third line but then the way they practice now and
Remember zadorov didn’t play for most of the third period last night they Rick talk even said they went down to only five skaters uh five defensemen so zadorov looked and and then there were tweets that zadorov spent some time with Rick toet before today’s practice which
Is good I think a lot of players do that uh Rick does that with a lot of players one-on-one time and it’s uh showing showing him what kind of things that he wants them to work on so at least this is how they line up at practice we’ll
See if this is how they go sometimes though they use practice to to try experiment things sometimes we see line combinations or deep pairings that actually don’t find their way to the ice for the game but regardless um it looks like they that split of Hughes and they
Only did that for one game actually then now they’ve gone back to it so we’ll see if Cole moves up to the second line with Myers and if zadorov drops down to the third line with jul Cole has been playing well probably better than zadorov in the last 10 games so we will
See if that’s indeed the way the Canucks go another thing from yesterday is um in the postgame Rick toet basically said that um he didn’t like PD’s game in the past three or four games and he’s got to get skating more that kind of thing and
Then I I I guess it made news in Vancouver only because you Rick toets generally had nothing but great things to say about PD PD was uh was kind of all over the uh map yesterday from a standpoint of on the overtime goal he was the one who gave the puck up a
Couple times and then he got cross check by Braden Chen you guys saw in my breakdown video you guys saw it when it happened no call pety was a little bit slow to get up I I contend that he uh at at first thought I S I thought he not
Flopped but he kind of embellished a little bit to try and draw the penalty but then I saw another angle where his basically his hold back and head uh snap back so then I take that back because kind now I feel kind of bad for
Suggesting it but he was slow to get up maybe because he was in pain or because he got just got crushed with a cross check regardless he was slow to get up basically screened to Smith as he tried to go get to Shen and then Shen scored
The game-winning goal so not the best not the best um sequence for for PD overall so um I think a lot of people took note of that that the way that talk was talking quite point about peton so then today uh Jeff Patterson both with toet and pson brought it up
And toet uh I wouldn’t say it was Defensive but I I can kind of see where he was coming from too he basically said that uh again it was a in in so many words he said it was kind of overblown and that if if he’s goingon to get taken
Out of context or whatever all the time that he might have to be more guarded when talking about players and TKA wasn’t being a baby about it he was simply um saying it it just it was another example of connect media taking something and maybe making it a little
Bit bigger than it should have been then Jeff Patterson asked Elias Pon about the exchange and then PD um basically brushed it off he he acknowledged and he just said uh I think P Patterson asked him Jeff pison asked him are you okay with criticism and he goes
Yes and then he said I’m a professional and I should be able to be able to handle criticism and then to his credit PD said it wasn’t just about that uh you know know um the call or no call on on that cross check from Shen he said he
Admitted that he gave the puck over twice gave the puck up twice on that game ending sequence so he admitted that he needs to play better and he can’t rely on the rest not only for him but for the team and I really like that attitude you
Guys know that I I rarely blame the refs I’m not that type of fan or or commentator last night I think that should have been a call though for sure but again what what can I do now what can any let’s do about it right now so very interesting and then I actually
Wrote to Jeff Patterson I sent him a DM to affirm him for for um asking the hard questions in the media scrum and to my knowledge he was the only one who did asked those those tough questions so I was happy that he asked him he’s a good
Reporter I really respect J jpat and I was happy that both talk it and PD addressed it and it should be a non-issue now I I really think and I I think uh there’s so much one other thing before I get to talking about the Cs get enough
Respect there there’s so much media tension around the team right now there’s so much fan attention that I think everything good and bad ends up getting blown up and surprise surprise that that always happens here in Vancouver but it it’s kind of interesting the kucks have only lost
Outright lost uh 11 games in regulation they’ve won 32 that’s why they’re 21 games over 500 they and they’ve lost yeah one thing they’ve lost five out of seven extra time games they’ve only won two they’ve lost five in extra time so they’re two and five past 60 minutes
Which isn’t great they got to be a little bit better than that especially if there a lot of tight games leading up to playoffs and in the playoffs but isn’t it kind of fascinating that anytime the Canucks lose um at least for me my my my my expectations have changed so much now
That I that I expect them to win every game that I I want them to win every game obviously that um that yeah that I guess my point is that’s my expectation and then even last night I was disappointed but then when you step back and look at the
Big picture They Don’t Really they um they still get a point so that means they don’t go one game less under five over 500 they don’t lose a point is what I’m basically saying uh in terms of being over 500 because they get that one
Point so they are 69 points 32 11 and five in 48 games so let’s get to that now I’ll talk about that for the last seven or 10 minutes and then I’ll turn it over to all of you and toy maker is kind of getting at what
I’m getting at is the connects are picked with the 13 best odds to win the cup no respect so when you look at the scores from tonight remember I just worry about the top of the league and I worry about the Pacific Division we have Boston winning in overtime against
And against Ottawa so they move into tie with us for first overall we have the Ducks losing in OT who cares we have the Flames losing and then the big one we had the Oilers shutting out the blackhaw like we did you guys the Oilers have won 15
Straight and I was talking about earlier this week the Canucks being a wagon the Oilers definitely a wagon so we look at the standings now in the Pacific Division and this is going to lead into my discussion about do the get enough respect we still are seven points up on
Vegas equal number of games we are 12 points up on Edmonton and they have four games in hand so technically they could get to 65 points with all their games in hand look at this they’re obviously 10 and0 in their last 10 because they’ve
Won 15 in a row 15 in a row that is basically 20% just under 20% of the Season they’ve rattled off in a row they are now building a gap to La who are really struggling their two five and three and then Seattle uh and the other
Four teams I I don’t think we worry about so Edmonton is the real deal you guys and and I don’t dislike Edmonton as much as I dislike Calgary you guys know Calgary is my least favorite team I don’t mind emont I really don’t they’re they’re a good
Team you look at the league Canucks and Boston both played 48 games now finally teams are catching up to the con in terms of games yeah you see 48 48 48 48 48 so it’s nice that we’re not the only team that’s played a lot of games so
Both teams have 69 points that means 69 points in 48 games that’s 21 games over 500 then you have Winnipeg uh two four points back with two games to go so they have to win both to stay uh on pace so the kucks are leading the league in terms of points points percentage
Regulation wins and what else we got in goals four actually they’re they’re second out in goals four per game and they’re so they’re doing a lot of really really good things really good home record is 174 and two and of course their way record is great too we’re 802 we haven’t
Lost in regulation you know so it’s crazy despite how good Emon is playing despite how good Emon is playing he has played 10 uh they’ve won 10 straights the conck are eight on2 so in the last 10 games even though Edmonton has not lost a game in the last 10 games
They’ve only gained two points on the canots because the cans have 19 18 points in their sorry 18 points in their last 10 games and M has 20 so despite how good em play the Conns are just as good you guys because they’ve only gained two points on us in the past 10
Games so that that’s an awesome thing finally when you look at the stats coar McKinnon are running away with the scoring race but then you have JT Miller in the next batch he is fifth overall then you have PD tied for eth and you have Quinn Hughes and K mcar battling uh
For the 11 12 spot so they have three players in the top in the in the top 12 in scoring so you add it all together Quinn Hughes likely gonna win the Norris Trophy Pon Miller in the top 12 top 10 in scoring Brock besser in the top
Whatever six or eight in goal scoring Demco arguably the second best goal tender in the league right now I think Conor halach is a tiny bit ahead of him and then you have Rick tett going to the all star game as the points percentage leading coach in the Pacific
Division so we have five players and one coach going to the all-star weekend next weekend five players and one coach yet you guys know and I’ll get to you guys in in a couple minutes you guys know how one thing that I’ve really noticed in the past and one thing I’ve tracked over
The past 15 years is what is the media’s perception of the Vancouver kxs what is the fan perception of the Vancouver conics outside of Vancouver and longtime followers of me know how much I desire that this team is well respected by media by fans by other organizations other players coaches
Management teams across the entire NHL and I get that the last 10 years aside from that bubble year the last eight or nine years it’s been some really really lean times you take out the bubble year we haven’t made the playoffs since 20145 that season that’s not good that’s
Nine years ago we’ve seen uh coaches run out of town we’ve seen players underperform when they get here we’ve we’ve heard of uh you know um of of disharmony throughout the organization so I can see where um I wouldn’t say laughing stock but we certainly haven’t been a model franchise
Over the past decade or so but this year I think it is last two years Jim Rutherford and Patrick Al been working on turning it all around that Rick toet is a huge part of that so now there’s alignment throughout the entire organization all the way from the owner
The GM the president the GM the coaching staff to the players down through abbottford so there’s a I believe there’s organizational alignment and I think we are seeing everything from culture to systems to Staples we’re seeing all that mostly because of Rick toet and the All-Star players playing
Well depth at all three positions I’ve talked about that many before we have a better bottom six we have a better dcore and we have Awesome backup goalie so we are deeper all around so we can withstand injuries to Carson Susi or whatever it may be once in a while
Hopefully not more injuries so for all those reasons and of course the play on the ice everything’s so much better um I think the Canucks I hope the kucks are getting more respect around the league and I always looking at Power Rankings I’m always looking at award
Award watches and stuff like that and like I said I think Quin Hughes is the favorite right now to win the Norris I think Jack uh Rick toet is the favorite to win the Jack Adams I think that uh Demco is probably a solid second place
Behind Conor huk in the in the vzna voting but not if the Win Pick has kind of dropped off a little bit in the past two weeks so for all these reasons and for all the media attention that they are going to get in Toronto next weekend
It’s about an All-Star weekend and the fact that they are number one in the league for all these reasons I think that they should Garner more respect throughout the league and I’d love to hear what you guys have to say in about two or three minutes I answered the poll

A lot of fans a lot of sponsors that um da da da so this is the second year in the row that I volunteered and they didn’t use me this year um this year they had they ended up selling more seats than usual and therefore they utilize more staff members so they
Contacted a few of us volunteers and said they actually didn’t need us and that was fine um I took them at their word and I I found out from a secondary source that that was indeed true last year I got pulled for a different reason
That I won’t get into here I’m not sure if I’ve ever talked about it publicly but I I think I shared about it once on the stream but I won’t get into it today um but let’s just say last year I was also scheduled to volunteer and they
Pulled me for a much different reason so then this year when they pulled me I had to make sure it wasn’t the same reason and I was assured that no there that their reason was fine so it’s fine I hope it went well I’m glad it went well
Like I trust it went well Gail and I went out for a nice dinner instead using for dout Vancouver because Sean and Jake were in a meeting Kayla was at a party um so therefore um yeah GA and I were able to enjoy a nice night together so I
Did not go to the dice nice uh Sarah to answer your your questions um yes you can volunteer but the the Canucks for both for the Jake Milford golf tournament and dice ice they already have a very very limited number of volunteers and it’s volunteers that basically they use um for those two
Events every single year I’m very lucky at least I was to be part of that that crew um and I guess I’m still I’m in their good books because they did invite me to volunteer despite the fact they had to resend the invitation after I accepted
And made plans but that’s okay I’m not I’m truly not bitter at all I really hope it went well I had a nice night but if they resend my U my my application next year then I’m going to have to talk to someone and fre fure out what is
Going on and we went to guyaku in Richmond um we went to guuk Kaku in Richmond that’s where he went Sarah but thank you that was nice and nice that was a nice easy one the conu lines today at practice no change to their forward lines but there
Was a slight change in the de pairings so if we look at Brendan bachelor’s um tweet from earlier today he so the practice lines were like I said the forge were the same mck Pon and Kenco suder Miller and besser why hatrick for PS shooter last night so good Joshua
Bler and Garland and the fourth line I C the hall pass line hall HL hog glander Oman lafy and lenus Carlson as the extra then then on D it was Hughes and heroni Cole and Myers and zidor and julson with fredman being the being the the healthy or the seventh
Defenseman so what’s really interesting about that are is um what’s really interesting about that is Zadora technically I I think we’d all agree that Zadora of julson is the is the third line and if that’s the case then zadorov technically got um got bumped he got uh relegated to the third
Line because I believe believe the way they skated yesterday wasn’t it Hughes honic zidor of Myers Coen julson correct me if I’m wrong but I thought it was zidor of of Myers on the second line and then Coen Json on the third line but then the way they practice now and
Remember zadorov didn’t play for most of the third period last night they Rick talk even said they went down to only five skaters uh five defensemen so zadorov looked and and then there were tweets that zadorov spent some time with Rick toet before today’s practice which
Is good I think a lot of players do that uh Rick does that with a lot of players one-on-one time and it’s uh showing showing him what kind of things that he wants them to work on so at least this is how they line up at practice we’ll
See if this is how they go sometimes though they use practice to to try experiment things sometimes we see line combinations or deep pairings that actually don’t find their way to the ice for the game but regardless um it looks like they that split of Hughes and they
Only did that for one game actually then now they’ve gone back to it so we’ll see if Cole moves up to the second line with Myers and if zadorov drops down to the third line with jul Cole has been playing well probably better than zadorov in the last 10 games so we will
See if that’s indeed the way the Canucks go another thing from yesterday is um in the postgame Rick toet basically said that um he didn’t like PD’s game in the past three or four games and he’s got to get skating more that kind of thing and
Then I I I guess it made news in Vancouver only because you Rick toets generally had nothing but great things to say about PD PD was uh was kind of all over the uh map yesterday from a standpoint of on the overtime goal he was the one who gave the puck up a
Couple times and then he got cross check by Braden Chen you guys saw in my breakdown video you guys saw it when it happened no call pety was a little bit slow to get up I I contend that he uh at at first thought I S I thought he not
Flopped but he kind of embellished a little bit to try and draw the penalty but then I saw another angle where his basically his hold back and head uh snap back so then I take that back because kind now I feel kind of bad for
Suggesting it but he was slow to get up maybe because he was in pain or because he got just got crushed with a cross check regardless he was slow to get up basically screened to Smith as he tried to go get to Shen and then Shen scored
The game-winning goal so not the best not the best um sequence for for PD overall so um I think a lot of people took note of that that the way that talk was talking quite point about peton so then today uh Jeff Patterson both with toet and pson brought it up
And toet uh I wouldn’t say it was Defensive but I I can kind of see where he was coming from too he basically said that uh again it was a in in so many words he said it was kind of overblown and that if if he’s goingon to get taken
Out of context or whatever all the time that he might have to be more guarded when talking about players and TKA wasn’t being a baby about it he was simply um saying it it just it was another example of connect media taking something and maybe making it a little
Bit bigger than it should have been then Jeff Patterson asked Elias Pon about the exchange and then PD um basically brushed it off he he acknowledged and he just said uh I think P Patterson asked him Jeff pison asked him are you okay with criticism and he goes
Yes and then he said I’m a professional and I should be able to be able to handle criticism and then to his credit PD said it wasn’t just about that uh you know know um the call or no call on on that cross check from Shen he said he
Admitted that he gave the puck over twice gave the puck up twice on that game ending sequence so he admitted that he needs to play better and he can’t rely on the rest not only for him but for the team and I really like that attitude you
Guys know that I I rarely blame the refs I’m not that type of fan or or commentator last night I think that should have been a call though for sure but again what what can I do now what can any let’s do about it right now so very interesting and then I actually
Wrote to Jeff Patterson I sent him a DM to affirm him for for um asking the hard questions in the media scrum and to my knowledge he was the only one who did asked those those tough questions so I was happy that he asked him he’s a good
Reporter I really respect J jpat and I was happy that both talk it and PD addressed it and it should be a non-issue now I I really think and I I think uh there’s so much one other thing before I get to talking about the Cs get enough
Respect there there’s so much media tension around the team right now there’s so much fan attention that I think everything good and bad ends up getting blown up and surprise surprise that that always happens here in Vancouver but it it’s kind of interesting the kucks have only lost
Outright lost uh 11 games in regulation they’ve won 32 that’s why they’re 21 games over 500 they and they’ve lost yeah one thing they’ve lost five out of seven extra time games they’ve only won two they’ve lost five in extra time so they’re two and five past 60 minutes
Which isn’t great they got to be a little bit better than that especially if there a lot of tight games leading up to playoffs and in the playoffs but isn’t it kind of fascinating that anytime the Canucks lose um at least for me my my my my expectations have changed so much now
That I that I expect them to win every game that I I want them to win every game obviously that um that yeah that I guess my point is that’s my expectation and then even last night I was disappointed but then when you step back and look at the
Big picture They Don’t Really they um they still get a point so that means they don’t go one game less under five over 500 they don’t lose a point is what I’m basically saying uh in terms of being over 500 because they get that one
Point so they are 69 points 32 11 and five in 48 games so let’s get to that now I’ll talk about that for the last seven or 10 minutes and then I’ll turn it over to all of you and toy maker is kind of getting at what
I’m getting at is the connects are picked with the 13 best odds to win the cup no respect so when you look at the scores from tonight remember I just worry about the top of the league and I worry about the Pacific Division we have Boston winning in overtime against
And against Ottawa so they move into tie with us for first overall we have the Ducks losing in OT who cares we have the Flames losing and then the big one we had the Oilers shutting out the blackhaw like we did you guys the Oilers have won 15
Straight and I was talking about earlier this week the Canucks being a wagon the Oilers definitely a wagon so we look at the standings now in the Pacific Division and this is going to lead into my discussion about do the get enough respect we still are seven points up on
Vegas equal number of games we are 12 points up on Edmonton and they have four games in hand so technically they could get to 65 points with all their games in hand look at this they’re obviously 10 and0 in their last 10 because they’ve
Won 15 in a row 15 in a row that is basically 20% just under 20% of the Season they’ve rattled off in a row they are now building a gap to La who are really struggling their two five and three and then Seattle uh and the other
Four teams I I don’t think we worry about so Edmonton is the real deal you guys and and I don’t dislike Edmonton as much as I dislike Calgary you guys know Calgary is my least favorite team I don’t mind emont I really don’t they’re they’re a good
Team you look at the league Canucks and Boston both played 48 games now finally teams are catching up to the con in terms of games yeah you see 48 48 48 48 48 so it’s nice that we’re not the only team that’s played a lot of games so
Both teams have 69 points that means 69 points in 48 games that’s 21 games over 500 then you have Winnipeg uh two four points back with two games to go so they have to win both to stay uh on pace so the kucks are leading the league in terms of points points percentage
Regulation wins and what else we got in goals four actually they’re they’re second out in goals four per game and they’re so they’re doing a lot of really really good things really good home record is 174 and two and of course their way record is great too we’re 802 we haven’t
Lost in regulation you know so it’s crazy despite how good Emon is playing despite how good Emon is playing he has played 10 uh they’ve won 10 straights the conck are eight on2 so in the last 10 games even though Edmonton has not lost a game in the last 10 games
They’ve only gained two points on the canots because the cans have 19 18 points in their sorry 18 points in their last 10 games and M has 20 so despite how good em play the Conns are just as good you guys because they’ve only gained two points on us in the past 10
Games so that that’s an awesome thing finally when you look at the stats coar McKinnon are running away with the scoring race but then you have JT Miller in the next batch he is fifth overall then you have PD tied for eth and you have Quinn Hughes and K mcar battling uh
For the 11 12 spot so they have three players in the top in the in the top 12 in scoring so you add it all together Quinn Hughes likely gonna win the Norris Trophy Pon Miller in the top 12 top 10 in scoring Brock besser in the top
Whatever six or eight in goal scoring Demco arguably the second best goal tender in the league right now I think Conor halach is a tiny bit ahead of him and then you have Rick tett going to the all star game as the points percentage leading coach in the Pacific
Division so we have five players and one coach going to the all-star weekend next weekend five players and one coach yet you guys know and I’ll get to you guys in in a couple minutes you guys know how one thing that I’ve really noticed in the past and one thing I’ve tracked over
The past 15 years is what is the media’s perception of the Vancouver kxs what is the fan perception of the Vancouver conics outside of Vancouver and longtime followers of me know how much I desire that this team is well respected by media by fans by other organizations other players coaches
Management teams across the entire NHL and I get that the last 10 years aside from that bubble year the last eight or nine years it’s been some really really lean times you take out the bubble year we haven’t made the playoffs since 20145 that season that’s not good that’s
Nine years ago we’ve seen uh coaches run out of town we’ve seen players underperform when they get here we’ve we’ve heard of uh you know um of of disharmony throughout the organization so I can see where um I wouldn’t say laughing stock but we certainly haven’t been a model franchise
Over the past decade or so but this year I think it is last two years Jim Rutherford and Patrick Al been working on turning it all around that Rick toet is a huge part of that so now there’s alignment throughout the entire organization all the way from the owner
The GM the president the GM the coaching staff to the players down through abbottford so there’s a I believe there’s organizational alignment and I think we are seeing everything from culture to systems to Staples we’re seeing all that mostly because of Rick toet and the All-Star players playing
Well depth at all three positions I’ve talked about that many before we have a better bottom six we have a better dcore and we have Awesome backup goalie so we are deeper all around so we can withstand injuries to Carson Susi or whatever it may be once in a while
Hopefully not more injuries so for all those reasons and of course the play on the ice everything’s so much better um I think the Canucks I hope the kucks are getting more respect around the league and I always looking at Power Rankings I’m always looking at award
Award watches and stuff like that and like I said I think Quin Hughes is the favorite right now to win the Norris I think Jack uh Rick toet is the favorite to win the Jack Adams I think that uh Demco is probably a solid second place
Behind Conor huk in the in the vzna voting but not if the Win Pick has kind of dropped off a little bit in the past two weeks so for all these reasons and for all the media attention that they are going to get in Toronto next weekend
It’s about an All-Star weekend and the fact that they are number one in the league for all these reasons I think that they should Garner more respect throughout the league and I’d love to hear what you guys have to say in about two or three minutes I answered the poll
