The Ras Al Khaimah Championship makes its third appearance on the DP World Tour this week as the International Swing continues with a third consecutive event in the United Arab Emirates at Al Hamra Golf Club. Daniel Gavins returns this week to defend his title. The Englishman missed the cut last week at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic but will hope the memories of his remarkable triumph will inspire him to mount a strong title defence. Two years on from Nicolai Højgaard’s victory at the inaugural Ras Al Khaimah Championship, Rasmus will aim to emulate his twin brother by etching his name onto the trophy. The four-time DP World Tour champion has begun the new year in impressive fashion with back-to-back ties for 11th in Dubai. Jordan Smith will also be in the United Arab Emirates this week. He won the European Challenge Tour’s Ras Al Khaimah Golf Challenge in 2016 and has since gone on to win twice on the DP World Tour. He’s hoping to make it back-to-back English winners of the event. Others to look out for are Yannik Paul, Thriston Lawrence and Jayden Schaper.

This is olison Eagle chip I guess you would say wow very nice what a good start from toror now Brandon Stone on the fifth driven it to here at the bunker already had one birdie today should have another here uh oh make that an eagle Brandon stone that puts two behind the lead
They’re always welcome tough little one mid 130s for hoar as I mentioned tiny Target it’s a cross Breeze got to keep this down otherwise it was just going to go left on you very good brilliant I’d say distance control P hoar should be his first bird of the day going for the
Green 3 three three down Breeze today easily reachable it’s a narrow gate though well he’s found it now hold on oh yes putting from there perhaps great shot so this is a straightforward shot and that chip on two holes ago on the par five might hold him in good stead
It’s one of those that he might just think about sending South now my tip for the week fantasy golf heli the day this one’s a eagle come on it’s bound to go in and it does he nips up to 12 and the par can he just cut across it and just
Hold it against that right to left that was [Applause] beautiful it shouldn’t hinder and it shouldn’t jump he can take dead aim just with a gap wedge oh pitched that perfectly Allison even under the hole so another chance for another bird he’s at three already he’s a birdie
Machine that was a good move from zenti yeah you can just tell can’t you the way they finished their swings here the way eying up and down great swing there we’ll head over to the par five eth to Frederick laqua another challenge tour graduate thank you very much playing the percentages it’s quite
Slow and it’s right to left once it hits the deck ever so gently yeah not bad from molison just a bit of tidying up here for toron nothing in this surely straight in oh first bogy of the week you can’t believe it could you I I can’t believe he missed that that’s
Incredible the 58 just some kind of medium iron huge Drive effortless power don’t know how he does it and it’s helpful when you can I’d like to know how he does it I really would hel Kilda on the 10th D’s everywhere everywhere what a shot he’s played there the difficult t
Wind out of the right hand side he’d expect he’s just trying to hold this up just to pump it to the heart of it take a brave man and take this flag on what about this shot yeah that was a lovely swing two good swings actually after disappointing
Bogy kept his rhythm nicely there Allison nice bounce back birdie for tovan olison after the drop shot at seven it’s a birdie at eight so he’s back to S under oh to Frederick laqua who’s moved into the back nine he’s found the Fairway at 10 that’s crucial not many
Do and well all in all took advantage quite nicely now trying to get this all the way up this tier sit down hell that is C once again apologies for the uh the language more frustration for Wow Rasmus Hy up I think we just see a little sa off
Backy should be just behind it with this club Top Notch you can’t go deep like he is without wedging it well and pting well does like this one hang on Baby well he should like it it was right of his Target I think just spun out of
It a little but oh the results it’s good we haven’t seen a Miss many of these outside the left enough Pace right in the heart of the hole again he really is well he’s doing everything well let’s face facts you have to don’t you he’s 18 under
Part hel killer the birdie on 13 Oh Marcus as I like to refer to him off out to dinner tonight the two of you knocked it in it’s nice isn’t it when they use that line and it just goes end over end over end oh there’s a good day
Semi- rough not helpful on the 12th worried about the flyer but no troubles at all there that was just super on 12 pin on the left he’s eyeing that up and down come on spin tried bad right over the top Mike Lorenzo Vera this one’s for an eagle this was jumping up to
11 and it’s tracking it’s track right in the middle wonderful just a smooth a IR oh what a shot from torban olison straight at the pin brilliant from our leader swinging as well as anyone one look at that just a beautiful Action a beautiful result into the par five Prime spot 144 looking straight at this just needs to maybe hold it a little bit just enough to uh get it to the hole and it is a third birdie today for Rasmus hoard just short of it a down slope could be a lively
Kick he’s asking it to sit oh it’s a shocker terrible 10 12 ft or so It’s Relentless isn’t it truly Relentless just outside the ride perfect Pace doesn’t seem to have a bad one in him at the minute which is guys to see some shot as well isn’t it seven iron seven iron 217 yards through Al Vera tough one to read back of this
Green the way he saw it that is the way he saw it no one has read the greens better than you this week Anthony oh David stop it well you only say it cuz it’s true no stop the Ling jry keeps the posture on that side slope just stays on
The left side doesn’t back off it just like that P high can he find a great third oh maybe maybe yes punch the air quite right for Brito W that’ll make him feel different about his day for another Birdie the way he’s putting I won’t put it past him
And nor should you oh it’s a wonderful round of golf 63 you come out in the penultimate group this for PA well I had a feeling just kept quiet well that’s two great Parts isn’t it 17 and 18 for Rasmus Hyer and it keeps it within four shots of torban

Educational and entertaining, a seamless fusion executed with grace, sophistication, and flair.💖

Damn, a 63 today from Thorbjørn, thats amazing
Only slightly relevant: "d'"s are often omitted in pronounciation in Danish unless it's the first letter. Like the actor Mads Mikkelsen (Mas would be the correct way to say it). Thus the Hoejgaard brothers are actually Hoej-gaar -'gaar' , gore pronounced swiftly, and Marcus Helligkilde is Heli-Kille. Man United striker Rasmus Hoejlund is also said without the 'd'. Hans Christian Andersen's ,of fairy tale fame, surname would also omit the 'd' in his native Danish. Not bored enough yet? OK then, Hoejgaard means "High farm", signifying a farmhouse located at a highpoint in a village. Helligkilde means "holy spring' and Hoejlund means "High Meadow". Olesen just means "Son of Ole" but most people would probably know that. Back to the golf,,, sorry. 🙂
