But what you’ll see is out that’s very ODOT hi hi guys I’m Dar ABA PJ professional you find me in the workshop today place where I love to be um tinking around with the golf clubs and I recently had a comment in a video by a

Subscriber asking how do you get rid of problem double-sided tape that’s underneath the grip cuz he was really struggling getting it um off the off the shaft so I’m going to take you through that today little step-by-step process which you can do if you are having problems with um the double-sided tape

Underneath so obviously so we’ve got a grip here you know um needs needs changing so the first thing you would do would take your s knife I tend to use a hooked blade um just a bit more versatile you can use it on both your metal and graphite shafts

So you put it up there and you’ve taken it off and you’ve got the double side of steak still on it and sometimes this can be really easy to get off you know just flick it into there and then just pull it off but there is times when

It becomes difficult and problematic and then what I would suggest is a heat gun um this way what you’re doing is just heating up steadily heating up the the glue it will reactivate the glue so it’s easy to come off off the golf club um and so we’re going to take you

Through that now the patience is the key don’t rush it nice and patient so you just take it work it up and down the club and twist it while you’re doing it don’t keep it on one spot you know you you you are looking at heat gun

Here you are looking at paper um we don’t want to have that situation where um things set Al light you know so nice and steady as you go just twist it around twist it [Applause] around but as I said before be be be patient it’s not brushing it and things like that so

So this is the method you can use for a steel shaft I’ve never really tried it on a graphite because graphitees are slightly different in terms of um how they constructed they constructed with glue and and carbon fiber and and sometimes heat doesn’t react very well to it so I just try to

Do the best I can with that one but um just stick with a steel shafts then then that way you’re not going to get any into any problems so this looks like it should be about right now now so you can feel it is quite warm to the touch comes

Off very very easy and it’s there done do in so what you will see there’s a there’s a little bit of glue still left on the on the club so that’s all your all your double-sided tape so what you so what you would get bit of white Spirit put it on the

Cloth a little bit more there’s just a little bit more glue left on it and there you go you got a shaft which has got absolutely no residue on it no tape and it’s ready to put a new grip on it that’s the the easiest way very very simple very straightforward to

Do um and so that’s how you would do it if you’re having problematic tape so so if you do like Club repairs like myself uh and you’re looking to take grips off without cutting them so saves you a little bit of money um pop onto this video here now

Um and that will take you through the step-by-step process of how to take remove grips without having to cut them thank you very much for watching as I say I do enjoy this this part of my my job my role as as a PJ professional tinking around with golf clubs um
