Darkfest 2024 Behind the Build – Episode 2

Darkfest 2024 build is officially on and the guys get straight to work! This year we wanted to bring you some more behind the scenes details, so we hope you enjoy some of the less glamorous parts of running an event… Like searching through snakey hideouts for sponsor branding! We discuss new trophies and prizes for the winners with Hasie, build some sweet berms and then go for a ride which has a truly African surprise at the end… You dont want to miss it!

Oh my God whoa whoa welcome back to darkfest everyone build video number two as you can see we’ve got our faithful old Safari cars back we had to buy this one last year because unfortunately the old classic brown one is dead rest in peace uh this

One’s called The Hulk we got the Hulk sticker on the front things have been going along nicely the course so far has been untapped uh we’re just going to go up and help Justin and Duran get some water up to the top of the course course it’s very hot out today everything’s

Very dry so we’re definitely going to need that um yeah things looking cool loving it out here in South Africa let’s go W yes let’s go wow be back You want to there huh you in there not on the way up the hill no definitely not so this is going to be our water tank for the top um because it’s a bit earlier this year in February obviously that’s summer down here in South Africa

It’s about 35° most days the course is going to be extra dry so with this we’re going to fill out with water put it at the top of the course and then we can hose those top BMS to keep them nice and moist and going to help out with the

Dry so as you can see here we are filling this uh big Bowser with Waters at the top so we can actually have a lot of water so we can work with that the maintenance is going to be the main thing it’s always fun bowling at dark

Vest um obviously it’s the biggest jumps in the world there’s different techniques that you use to build the biggest jumps extra long shovels as you see as you saw last year and yeah it’s going to just be a little bit more of a challenge this year with with how dry it

I’ve got a meeting with the guy that does all the signage he also makes all our trophies for all the prizes of dark Fest all the big checks that you see and of course all the amazing sponsors who uh helped pay for this event and put it

On uh we need to show them off on course with some big signage so that’s what we’re going to do now we’re going to discuss that see what we need to make see if any of the uh stuff from last we can reuse only four dark first yes okay

So what have we got let’s start with branding yeah before we do The Branding yeah let me check my branding drawing 1 two 3 4 we need 10 Monster logos we always get spare branding in case someone crashes into them which they always do y there’s white on the black

Background I think black looks nicer than white yeah it does pop a lot better yeah M finished so we don’t get the Shine off the sun look I’m actually on my drawer this is the science behind dark fist you seeing right here that is the treasure map of insanity oh we need

That’s why everyone gets such bad haircuts now basically the haircut thing is like I am you like joining the crew you know everyone arrives everyone’s a bit nervous it’s like an ice Breer everyone gets stupid haircuts cuz when you sit at the top and you’re ready to
