Real test um maybe eliminate some of this Oddball long shot stuff and see three in a row already yeah that’s wild I mean I don’t think anybody probably saw Dunlap coming last week I mean that’s that’s nuts and and props to him I mean props for sure I mean 20 years old
Sophomore at Alabama the only amateur in the competitive field that’s Insanity like some of these tournaments will have multiple ameters and one might rise to the top and contend for a while but then the pressure buckles them and he started off pretty shaky on Sunday then he pulled it back together because
Everybody else was shaky trying to chase him down uh unbelievable finish for a kind he’s he still like an undergrad work and Al abama like this this guy’s going to turn pro in the next 12 months and make way more money than you and I will ever see and this guy’s already a
PJ tour winner at 20 years old I can’t believe it it’s it was pretty amazing how would you feel though if you won as him you win and you don’t get to touch any of that money like I mean I obviously it’s still yeah that’s the amateur rules are kind of outdated still
But at least on the bright side he can use that in to turn into nil money while he’s at Alabama and so he’s going to get some deals out of this it’s might not amount to $1.4 million but he might be able to approach that or pass it up depending on what he
Gets for being the first amateur winner on the PJ tour since Phil Mickelson in 1991 I mean and Mickelson is one of the prodigies of all prodigies in the history of golf like there’s Bobby Jones there’s Tiger Woods and there’s Phil mikkelson those are the prodigies that
We’ve had in our Sport and like Nick Dunlap might be the type of Prodigy he’s only 20 he’s he’s got the whole future ahead of him but to stare down some of those golfers and win is outright impressive like you cannot take you’ll never be able to take that away from him
Regardless of whether he can cash the check or not yeah and it’s I mean it’s definitely nice to see a lot of these young Young Guns coming up too I mean there’s so much talent waiting to get on to or waiting to get going right for
Every one of these uh big shots that leaves to go play on live we’re replenishing the well with even better youth so it’s a future of competitive golf is as bright as it’s ever been and that’s completely in spite of competing tours which I don’t even think we’ll be
Competing against one another in the next couple of years but for right now everybody’s like oh no what about live tour I was like well regardless of which tour these guys decide to play for there’s so much talent at the top of this game that I don’t think it matters
It honestly does not matter anymore which tour these guys are playing for the the the level of competition and play is better than it’s ever been and it’s not even close really like we’re talking about guys that are ranked 200th in the world that could go out and win a
Tournament like that’s what Grayson Murray did a couple weeks ago it’s it’s it’s insane it feels like the the young guys too are just super well-rounded which is which is a little bit different like from years like the last probably decade of golf you get people that come
Out and they’re just technicians at certain parts of the game but all these young dudes just seem to have it all going and I yeah God help some of these older guys because I think they’re uh I think they’re in for they’re holding their own though I mean it’s it’s it’s
Just more even like the the advantage to being experienced is there but the talent and the athleticism and just the the sheer ability of these younger guys is way more than it’s ever been especially back like when you were when we were growing up it was Tiger and Phil and then a
Bunch of guys and there was a little bit of David Duvall sprinkled in he had Ernie ell’s and VJ Singh made some noise but they were never on the same level as Phil and they were never definitely not even close to the level that tiger was
On for a 15year stretch and now there’s a guy there’s guys out here that are winning as amateurs in college it’s it’s unbelievable and Tory Pines even though Dunlap already pulled out of the farmers because he’s too busy partying in Tuscaloosa which was exactly
What I would do if I want a PJ Tour event as a college student I mean I the kid dude can’t even legally drink yet what’s going on here legal or not he’s raising a glass no doubt about it for sure and Tuscaloosa it’s going to he’s
Not going to have to buy a drink anywhere in that in that state for any amount of time probably ever probably never speaking T Pines Tor Pines I I brought out some good stuff because this is one of my favorite golf courses in the entire world it’s one of the most
Beautiful places in the world period like if you just look at for scenery Tory Pine State Park is breathtaking it will change your life to just sit there and look at the ocean it’s that beautiful so Tory Pines means a lot to me I Know It Means A Lot To You Connor
The Farmers Insurance open is the only non- major that we get to see Tory Pines but at least we get to see it every year you ever played down there I wish well I mean you’re a California guy you never I never know uh where you’ve been and what you’ve
Done yeah I haven’t played there but been there and it’s just unbelievable this this North Course for for how much the people are are saying oh it’s not that big of a deal like both these courses can do some things obviously the south is the is the Crown Jewel there
But uh the whole property is insane yeah it’s gorgeous been there but uh I pulling out an older staple just some Woodford Reserve it’s been a long time since uh I’ve had the warm embrace of the Woodford so and I was funny I was telling you that story beforehand I’m out buying
Really classy uh Boda box wine and uh turn and saw this on an endcap and I was like you know what I haven’t had in a long time as Woodford so but uh yeah I don’t remember it being the citrusy and I definitely don’t remember so much
Cinnamon but uh it is really really tasty stuff and uh I think I got to put it back into heavy rotation I haven’t had regular wood for forever but the double O is one of my go-tos like every night double O gets gets a little sip on
Uh tonight I went with uh finishing off a bottle of Heaven Hill bottled in bond there you go one of the best Bourbons out there in existence usually 50 60 bucks depending on if you can find it at all uh this used to be a $30 bottle and

The first three tournaments of the season so I’m ready let’s hit the drop for caddy Notes Of course caddy notes is where Connor will wax poetically about both the North Course at Tory Pines and the vaunted South course which is a monster we’re talking monstrous course with Incredible difficulty you love to see it I want to see some I want to see some moderate
Scoring not just birdies and Eagles barraging like last week at the American Express I hated that I can’t watch that on TV it’s like yeah everybody’s making birdies and Eagles it’s not that much fun to watch honestly isn’t I I like when there’s some conflict I like when
There’s some added pressure of like oh crap uh he made a bogey and I have a PT for 16 feet for a birdie it’s a two shot swing that like we don’t get two shot swings on these Resort type courses and on Tory P Tory Pines we’re gonna see
Some big swings because there’s some doubles there’s some doubles to get out here there are some birdie holes Eagles maybe maybe every once in a while maybe a couple guys will Eagle a part five each day of this tournament which starts tomorrow by the way Connor Connor
Yeah urgently we are we are the last word in sport in golf betting and DFS before lock tomorrow morning that’s actually true so uh all of our listeners get to uh get an edge maybe hopefully that last word hopefully are riveted by they’re about they’re about to get their mind blown
Though I’m gonna Google what vaed means when we get done just I’m just wasn’t real sure about that word so that was a new one what what about law Ed it’s it’s a very laed event really don’t like what you’re doing right now so Farmers Insurance open in uh San
Diego U La Hoya in La Hoya specifically um the two courses in play uh this week are the North and South South course at Tory Pines top 65 and ties are going to make it through the cut um as Bo alluded to it starts tomorrow so we’re get one day
At the North one day at the South for every guy and then we’re going to switch to uh the south for the weekend a weekend so Friday and Saturday trying to get it in before the NFL Conference games both are par 72s like Bo talked about the south is significantly harder
It’s hosted an open it’s it’s it’s probably in the top I’d say five most difficult courses on tour uh the north is going to run 7258 yards south is going to run 77 765 so considerably longer long um you’ve got kuuya uh Fairways you’ve got poana Greens on the
South I believe it’s Bermuda still or I’m sorry bent still on the North with a little bit of um it’s a PO blend yeah yeah exactly so you get a little bit of Blended the South you’re going to have a lot of Cliff side you’re going to have a
Couple of holes with water in play plenty of bunkers all over this place the 18th is kind of tough nasty got a pond right in front of the 18th um all the greens here are tricky uh at minimum uh very narrow Fairways very tight approaches the rough is going to
Be up everything about this place oak trees everywhere you’ve got canyons and Native areas yeah there’s just it’s all just kind of contoured along the jutting cliffs like we’re talking trees and golf course and then 100 foot cliff into the Pacific Ocean that’s where this golf course is it is amazing television if
You have a nice big HD TV or you find a bar that has one of those tune in to watch this tournament just for the scenery this place is like I said before one of the most beautiful places in the world and they’re playing golf on it on
A spectacular Golf Course the South course is I would say a top three of my favorite courses in the entire world that’s how good this course is and that’s how much of a test these 156 guys are under uh for three days out of the four it’s going to be unbelievable
Television yeah it’s absolutely gorgeous there’s a ton of risk versus reward lot of lot of difficult shots that you’re going to see a lot of beautiful Scenic overlooks it’s it’s it’s hands down one of my favorite courses as well and the other thing too that we’re kind of
Getting blessed with is it looks like the weather is going to be pretty good it looks like we’re gonna have really mild temp San Diego they had some rain yesterday and some fog this morning and that’s about it that’s as much weather as you’re going to get in an entire
Calendar year in San Diego we’re talking low 70s and sunny with a light Breeze out of the West every single day of the year and this is just gonna be one of those days four of those days no totally is and I think with the cooler temperatures too it’s not going to dry
Out quite as bad possibly so um there’s going to be there’s going to be some distance players in play for sure I think and um yeah the I mean getting back to the weather just briefly like the only thing that can happen occasionally is you can get some gusts
In that 10 to 15 mph range but really that’s going to be the least of the concern and it looks like maybe only Friday is going to be even approaching that it’s only for maybe half the day so it’s going to be pretty much wide open which doesn’t mean anything this course
Will still get its teeth in you so yeah this course will uh allow only the best and the sharpest to rise to the top and the wind won’t change any of that because the course is hard enough as it is I would say the winning score probably is going to be somewhere in
That 135 range somewhere in there that’s historically about where it ends up um cut Line’s probably going to be around 200 under 300 somewhere in that range um what else do we know about this there is tends to be a stat with players that uh have experienced here
And have done well here uh tend to continue to do well here um so you’re previous winners you’re looking at Max hom at 13 under Luke list uh at 15 under the year before that who uh beat wi Z in a playoff and then we’re gonna talk
About that a lot here I think we are because I actually like both of them and I think you’re probably only liking one of them but and then you got Patrick Reid and the only reason that Patrick Reid actually probably needs to be mentioned is he did it pretty
Differently than the other guys like Patrick Reed was almost entirely like grinded out uh around the green type of game he was throwing darts that whole week like we’re talking some of those masterful long iron approaches you’ve ever seen was when Reed won yeah but what when he was missing though he
Wasn’t losing anything on around the green and he wasn’t many putts and that’s how many Chip he had so many chippin that week just completely unbelievable play and that’s I think I think that’s kind of a critical stat that we don’t normally get super into is
The around the green game this week and yes oh that’s what I love about this tournament short game matters here all of it matters I mean like the whole all of it the whole game matters but specifically you need guys that are handy with wedges and not just handy
From wedges from that 125 bucket we talk about hipping and pitching and sand play uh you’re around your Strokes gained around round the green stat on courses of 7,400 or longer that was my heaviest weighted stat in the whole model that I had and that was 20% I I weighted it
Super heavy because I knew that these guys are not going to be able to avoid Bogies and make birdies on par fives without an elite short game week yes yes he agrees uh T but like like you said the entire golf bag is going to be needed in this tournament
Both of these courses really do demand an all-around game from you because you’re saying oh the North Course is so much easier and so much shorter yeah but if you don’t score well in your one round on Wednesday or Thursday at the North course you are absolutely out of
It you cannot win this tournament with showing on the North Course yeah because the guys who win this tournament at 12 13 under they shot six or seven under at the North Course and the rest of the three rounds we’re grinding out 6970 scores on the south course because
That’s an amazing score on the south course is is sub 70 and the B and the bogey avoidance is is massive like you especially on the south like you cannot be given struges back like par par is a great score on a lot of these
Holes so it it is really nice to be getting back to a tournament that again is not going to be a birdie Fest is going to be about really well rounded all around golf play like every single shot matters every single position matters this is uh this is going to be a
Super fun watch this is good as it gets for me like like this is the Pinnacle of golf entertainment uh let’s bet on it since we’re going to be so entertained let’s throw some skin in the game and hit the club Twirls Corner All right Club Twirls is where we bet on golf we bet on winners top five top 10 top 20 top 40 Cuts made we’ll bet on your mom if she’s at the tournament see which which player is going to go the score the lowest as always gamble responsibly whether you’re playing a
Wagering game or anything that risks your hard-earned money uh for a game of chance make sure you’re responsible about it uh we’re going to help you with that because we’ve been we’ve been cashing some top fives and top 10 even though we haven’t called any of the
Three long shots this season we’re still making money each week with our bets Connor this is tricky because the top three guys in my model are the three guys with the shortest odds and the four guys with the shortest odds are all from Southern California they’ve all done
Well at this tournament and they’re all kind of crunched in there between 9 to1 and 12 to1 what the hell are we gonna do because we can’t bet on all four of those guys we can’t that’d be dumb no just just bet on your mom yeah she’s reliable yeah I mean so
Far tonight we got underage drink shipping of booze and betting on moms so we’re we are crushing how many this is the best show we’ve ever had we are in form uh what do we do so what you do is uh you bet col morawa that’s what you do
Thank you hey Connor and I agree cheers to you again salude Colin morawa 12 to1 he did briefly drop to 11 to1 which I wasn’t a huge fan of but you just wait and see if it gets shorter you continue to hold off on him but if he goes back to 12
Like he did today you bet on him and if he slips farther than 12 you bet more on him because this guy is as Elite as it gets with a long iron mid iron anything that deals with approach and making birdies or better Colin morawa is your
Boy because the Dude makes tons and tons and tons of birdies because he’s as good on a pro as it gets the iron play speaks for itself he’s also great around the green his putting has kind of held him back in recent times but the recent form
We’ve seen from morawa says that his putting’s just fine he’s he was just in a cold streak for about six months last year which prevented him from winning but he’s back the col morawa the last 24 rounds putting is actually really good top 60 in this field short
Game top 40 ball striking top five uh 12 to1 for a guy like that don’t have to sell me any further Connor I completely agree with you yeah the only other thing that I would add is um all the like the stats you just alluded to 100% the putting what’s interesting
About the putting is that it has somewhat leveled back out um right it’s so nice it’s it’s not great it’s not great but it’s not it’s not horrid like there was a period of time just a quick six months as Bo alluded to it felt like forever uh the the this
Hard-hitting analysis is the why you should like And subscribe for this show alone because uh yeah the putting was good on birdie putts I think he was having trouble avoiding Bogies for a while there because of his putter which is the opposite of Scotty Scotty had prevented him from making birdies it
Didn’t stop K more Cabo from making birdies he he was making birdie putts but if he was 40 feet away he was making a lot of three putts and that’s that’s where he was getting into trouble trouble uh is when he wasn’t on close approach like he usually is that was
When he was struggling and not winning tournaments that I those are way those days are way behind him now because what we’ve seen of him the last four months is as good as it gets in the world he loves this place he loves Tory Pines the bogey avoidance piece was
Actually where I was going with the putting stat the putting stat coming back in you’re on the same page over the last 24 col morawa is number one in this field for bogy avoidance and we don’t have oh is that good I’m sounds good SS pretty decent it’s better than good it’s
It’s great um and with that being said I mean this field is not a bunch of slouches truly is not so for him to be number one avoiding big numbers having the putter flatten back out a little bit for him excellent long iron player has has a adequate enough wedge and short
Game to get up and down this really really sets up nicely for a guy who knows his way around here so my favorite thing about morawa this week has to be that the only really birdie holes on this course are the par fives on on the
South course at least the par fours are so tough the par 3es are even tougher on the south course the par fives are really the only real birdie opportunities on the south course and col more Caba annihilates par FES this guy is just he takes part fives and he
Just just tears them apart and he is going to do that here and as long as he can keep around even on those on those tough holes uh his birdie making ability especially on scoring holes is next to Next To None and we talked about course
History here K morawa has got a a third a 21st and a fourth here and then on top of that morala and his last three starts just on the tour a fifth a six and a win so we have good form we had all the the like faulty parts of his game coming
Back together at a place that he plays play well and knows well it’s it just all signs point to colum warawa in Xander I love love love Xander he was my oneandone pick on the on the betting Pros show with Pat Fitz Morris he is my top guy in DFS just because he
Makes a lot of birdies too but his odds at nine to one when I hold him pretty equal to Colin this week means that I’m going to go for the guy who’s going to pay me more in the event that he wins honestly that’s that’s the separator for
Me is the odds are better to bet on col morawa and if I consider those two guys to be equal that’s that’s where I I separate them but I I don’t fault to anybody for betting Xander this week because the guy is off the charts good in every metric that we’re looking
For oh we got Sean Coughlin must be a relation to you is relation but I had to I had to answer that question Carrie Coughlin oh my God there’s man we got got of the state of kery over here the county car the county of kery Ireland is represented well
Here you never give me any credit for how cool this hat is since it got asked the Augusta is that the Mickey Mickey’s hat that’s Augusta Green Jackets man oh the minor league baseball team that’s that’s tits right there that’s incredible I it kind it looks like
Charlotte Hornets but it’s it’s not the same head and then I was like is that the Mickey’s Malt malt liquor one though it’s a little different there that’s pretty cool Augusta Green Jackets one of the elite G league club yeah join the hive man they keep sending me emails every
Day they they need more fans apparently I’ll take that hat that’s a sharp hat I’ve got a couple of them they’re sweet anyways I I got off the rails we’re off the rails of course we are uh so you were you were talking about Xander though yeah yeah I was just looking for
A little bit of approval on Xander as a top four option that I wouldn’t fault anybody for betting on but Colin having the better odds the better payout odds kind of was the tiebreaker for me but we I think we’re going to talk a lot about
Xander and DFS but uh you also have Klay who’s his recent form hasn’t been that good and so I’m just I’m looking at it going why would I want to bet on him when even though he’s done great here he’s another so C guy he hasn’t been
That sharp lately like we’re not the approach game the approach game isn’t there and obviously a short game is world class but his putting has been kind of average it’s just it doesn’t look like the same Patrick Klay to me the last couple months and I want to see
I want to see Sharp Klay so has he done that great here I mean I think the last start here he missed he’s a top 10 machine but we expect more out of a guy with with 11 to one odds absolutely and the only thing that I’ll say about Patrick Klay here
That might make some sense is that Mr consistency which he typically is If all we’re looking for is slow played calculated pars that is Klay um that’s why he does well here so if you get into those tough conditions I mean who else is are you gonna lean on as a guy that’s
As consistent as it gets no matter how tough the course is I’m gonna take a pass on him I’m just saying I I can see why somebody would I mean I started off loving him along with Xander and then just kind of as I kept doing more and more research boiling it
Down more I boiled this sucker down to a syrup this week because I’m so in tune with how I want to bet this event that Klay just kept tumbling down like he he went from number one to number four now he’s outside of my top 10 overall and
That that should tell you everything thing you need to know about just running these numbers and figuring out what I actually want to bet on compared to where the lines are and kle is just too short this week 11 to1 we we’d be pissed off if he was at the Sentry at 11
To1 yeah I would agree with that I will I will say he rid it out better for me than he did for you but it’s it’s completely like top 30 stats it’s it’s not like he’s like in the top 10 for anything it’s not like there’s any standout it’s it’s really
Considering the form considering the guys around him so and also I just don’t like Patrick Klay so we can talk about I don’t mind him uh I I just I admire how just unflappable he is while playing like that that appeals to me as a player like just watching a dude just laser
Focused all the way through I don’t really care Pace a Play Because all these Pros are slow all these Pros are slow and I don’t blame them one bit because every shot they hit is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars so it it makes a lot of sense that a guy who
Is a little bit slower paced than the average PJ Tour golfer you still they’re all very slow compared to your weekend golfer and that’s that’s what I’m getting at is all these Pros are playing slowly every single one they’re just some are less slow and so for me I don’t
Care about Klay Klay klay’s awesome uh I’m having a hard time going against the current on Max Max hom he the defending Champion here but it’s like everybody wants to bet maxom he’s likable he’s he’s the defending Champion here but for me it’s like I don’t want
To play the one same guy everybody else is playing and he he ranked third in my model and I’m looking at going what’s wrong with maxom well nothing’s wrong with him I just prefer uh Colin this week so I think you got to make a decision at the Top If you’re going to
Play morawa or you’re going to play hom they’re they’re right there the same odds I I don’t know about you I’m not independently wealthy so I can’t be just throwing all kinds of short odd bets out there but uh even if you were wealthy it
Would be not very smart well I just bet everybody then which is you know what we do I can’t lose look at me um and you still wouldn’t have had Nick Dunlap last week that’s no [ __ ] I would have never so with that’s how non chance that
You would have is betting everybody you still would somehow not bet on the only amateur in the field and lose out loud and normally I’m the one that is betting that [ __ ] like I’m normally the one that’s like know 500 to one I’m in uh
With with hom though to get to the point with h I think the reason that I’m leaning towards maybe he’s gonna end up being a good play is it’s not that I feel like he’s incredibly in incredibly great form but in his last start he lost almost six Strokes putting incredibly uncharacteristic of

Can tell where the grain is is moving a lot easier like Bermuda is known for its grain being stiff but it’s hard to read if you know if you’ve putted on poana before you can actually kind of read which way the grass is going to guide
The ball and even though it might wobble all the way there it’s the lines are true and it’s just it’s tricky for somebody who grows up on Bermuda or Bentgrass to to figure it out it takes them a while and that’s why some of the East Coasters that have done well here

Strokes back which is equally critical is onapproach and specifically it’s getting into those shorter approach distances and some of the scrambling around the Green stats that he’s not Stellar at um and the putter he’s in the top 25 so he’s got a stout enough putter on him
But I don’t think he can get it done 100% with the driver this week I think you’re going to have to be able to hit some irons and it’s like him he’s just not there with the irons yet he’s just not Elite with the irons right so I would

Bradley here I I think that’s a solid play but in those tournaments where he’s going to be pretty popular because he pops in everybody’s model including mine uh you you might get into a bigger tournament where you want to just let him go and and go down to the lower
