8:45 – Austin Price – VolQuest
9:00 – Rhett Bryan – Titans Radio
9:30 – Burke Nihill – President and CEO of the Tennessee Titans

I’m Robert Walsh a lot of people getting jobs around the league but we’ll start in Los Angeles where Jim Harbaugh reportedly has an extremely strong offer on the table from the Chargers and the discussions now have shifted about how he will fill his staff per Mike gapo to

Vegas where the Raiders have hired their general manager Tom Tesco staying in the AFC West after becoming the general manager or being the charger general manager of the Chargers for the last 11 years pairing him with new head coach Antonio Pierce after this week general manager and head coach hirings there are

Currently two general manager jobs and five head coaching jobs yet to be filled for your foundation repair and waterproofing needs visit usstn breaking news at once on your home for the Titans and the vs this is 1045 The Zone out of the blocks and off in running on

A big show on a big day Wednesday rkw is brewed up by E and roast 24 hours after the Titans reportedly make their head coach higher we have more of your reaction and we takeen a lot of different places in the World of Sports

It is a big news week in the city of Nashville and we have got a loaded lineup coming up for you and a special guest that will join us that we tell you about at 7 o’clock coming up at 9:30 this morning 615 737 1045 our number with Ramone Foster and Kayla Anderson

Robert walar producer I’m will bowling streaming live on 1045 The Zone TV great morning for rkw how we doing everyone good we got a loaded show today I was just looking at the Slate that we that we run on our uh you know the visual medium I guess you could say it is

Literally stacked there’s no room for anything we are loaded man that’s is how I SPAC it yes well I SPAC not Myspace no that’s correct he did not have mypace he did not have my he don’t know about a top six does six music is that like the Fab Five in

Uh T-mobile back in the day what you had to pick friends that you wanted to display on your account well it was somebody you had a crush on would you have to have six friends first in order that’s your Ro block right there so the what website was this is that like

Facebook but like it was the first Facebook wasn’t first Facebook serious right now no I’m not serious on heck is that like Facebook what was that guy’s name Sam or like Zuckerberg Zuckerberg that was that that’s about him no where’s my brick Thom Thomas too early y’all forget my

Siblings are y’all’s age like I know all of these things you know what crazy I don’t know much about them but we were better when we had Myspace I just want to throw that out there because you know what Myspace also did it somewhat enhanced Society because it’s it likely

Had us coding yes it did it had us coding we had to go copy and paste and find certain what do you call https something like that but when you changed your background or music or music we were lightly I’m going to take credit for it anyway we were lightly coding

Which coding now we were computer nurses they have coding clinics and stuff like that for kids who would have been in Ramon Foster’s top five oh who have been in my top five I had my favorite rapper or two back back then Young Jeezy it it I

Don’t think it’s ever changed much Young Jeezy I probably had uh Project Pat on there I had uh at the time Jordan and a couple people from around campus okay I was say did you have real friends I have real friends on there too yeah heck you

Have real friends yeah I mean you’d be shocked the amount of people I did not in that era did not in that era I caught ke on Facebook now we’re getting the good stuff now it’s getting ju caught her slipping on Facebook man she had this picture she still has on her profile

I’ve actually started Facebook over two times no once oh my God and Twitter yeah and thanks Elon any update on that on you getting your Twitter back this is a sore subject it’s such a sore subject you know because the only reason is for the promotion of this yes that’s like

880,000 followers just gone but as of late I’ve been getting a lot of traction on there you only thing that b see you shouldn’t have started me on this man my job is to get you started Elon could be listening only thing that that that they

Have done is is reply back oh we’re putting it with your old case I actually tried to say I got hacked and did not have control of my account I actually got a read I got a reply that said yeah we understand that you aren’t locked out

And yeah pretty much told him we we know you’re not locked out you got control of it okay AI I know I know weird I tried to say I got hacked and they said no you’re not but they can’t get me in I would say in the last 48 hours that the

Tennessee Titans have added Brian Callahan into their top six he definitely in our top six he’s definitely our top why they pay the big bucks 615 737 1045 is our number coming up this morning brenwood Academy quarterback and new Tennessee five-star quarterback commit George McIntyre will join us at 720 former Titans linebacker

Wesley Woodyard always brings it first time we’ve talked to him since Tennessee put up 42 on Kentucky last year in nean stadium I say these things before I think he’s listening and is tuned into to us uh he will join us at 8:20 this morning Austin price of all quested on

Three at 8:45 and Rhett Brian of Titans radio at 9 before a very special guest joins us at 9:30 and we will reveal who that is at 7 o’clock yay I’m excited take your bets now me too yeah take your bets go on Twitter join or X whatever

You want to call it let us know what you think uh yeah best very special guest man a lot of uh good content today man that’s what we got going on I am not even going to say too much I did a Michael Scott right there whatever I

Think I’m going to say say the opposite of it so I said the opposite of it 615 737 1045 we’ve got mock drafts we have got reports and rumors about Bill Callahan potentially joining the Titan staff uh but of course we do not yet have official word that Brian Callahan

Will be the head coach of the Tennessee Titans uh expect that to come soon but ultimately we have today to discuss what what Rand carthon said in his introductory press conference to this search obviously not his complete introductory press conference but when the search began in what the vision of

Titans football is going to look like because I believe still that when we learn more about Brian Callahan and that becomes official we’re going to get information on what the New Vision Amy Adams trunk has for this organization yeah we should be able to get more answers because then they’ve all had the

Same similar conversations to actually get on the same page too um I’d love to know how those uh those interviews go as head coaches like you you pretty much do have to divulge a lot I’d expect to try to sell yourself sell your plan and vision uh that’s the word we’re going to

Use for for a little while and honestly the the entire structure for it too and and I can imagine being an assistant coach coordinator orever you want to call it and actually having the full plan um but if they’re interviewing guys it’s it’s it’s got to be somewhat

Complete if you’re in that position and know that your name is about to start buzzing like Braun Callahan was and slowick and Ben Johnson and all these other guys right um somebody’s probably been prepping you for a little while yeah and I think that’s why it’s taking

A little bit to get to this point of officially announcing him as head coach because I think Amy Adam Strunk Rand carthon and Company um Burke nyel they want to sit down probably and make sure that everything is laid out cuz that was the whole thing why we didn’t get the

Complete Vision I don’t think they wanted it to be sloppy or disjointed or not shown to that head coach before it was put out there and you’re right Ramon I think structure is a part of that how are we going to see the structure maybe a little bit different in terms of upper

Management than we have in the past because in the past there hasn’t really been a lot of structure and I know that’s probably a part of the overall Vision because this is a kind of a reset yeah yeah and and you you said the the right words for for it too right there

Kayla is um you how crazy this blew up I guess I ain’t going to say blew up but shocked everybody that they were moving on from Rael you got to be clean you cannot have a sloppy process about this that is probably a word I hadn’t used in

A while but like it cannot be a sloppy process on how yes I’m talking I had seen Dexter yet but apparently he was a clean type of dude one of the worst finales of all time straight up I do agree with that I haven’t watched it but that’s what everybody says don’t watch

The like that yeah but everything else was great come on but be Dexter is what you’re saying okay clean this thing up that’s fair that’s fair yeah Sopranos was not one of the worst finales by the way one of the best I’ve watched it was controversial was very controversi and

That’s what you somewhat want though too oh sure you want the conversation to last forever yeah and it has I mean it brought you in will yeah it certainly did it did other news around the NFL yesterday the Raiders are hiring former Chargers general manager Tom Tesco as their new general manager across

Division lines after ruining a cap situation in one town he’s going to get the opportunity to do it in another this makes no sense to me none whatsoever I mean is this just the Raiders admitting that Brandon Staley was all of the problem in LA and not being what $40

Million over the cap I thought it was so odd yesterday when they were talking about Tom Tesco they were saying the guy who built this Powerhouse of a Chargers roster over 10 years the Power House of a roster that couldn’t get past the first round of the playoffs that’s correct even power gave

Up a three possession lead to the Jacksonville Jaguars do you guys think the bigger uh miss here is hiring Tom Tesco or not hiring champ Kelly the guy who was uh in-house that a lot of RA Raiders favorites wanted to get the GM job I’m not even sure who champ Kelly is

I’ll be completely honest with you Bert I’d be speculating or lying to you if I say yeah they should have went with champ only champ we real as we respect it’s Champ Bailey oh that was my favorite player of all time you see what I’m saying I met him at a baseball

Tournament but he you not mad at a baseball I know shocked there’s so many football dads that are now baseball dads oh yeah that’s that’s fact do you think because they had already promoted a guy like Pierce like maybe the whole promoting from within they didn’t want

To do all of it that way yeah I mean I know it’s not that’s always going to be the conversation yeah um I’m I’m I’m not quite sure on that one i’ I’d rather not give a uh a SL opinion on that yeah isn’t that like de bolting or whatever

You want to call it like debol I don’t know what they are now that mean Chargers you know are bolts bolts de bolting either way they’re about to get Hardball I’m not following you on that one either way they’re about to get hard balled uh and I’m not sure what his yeah

Hardal I’m not even sure what his leadership’s going to be they’re they’re somewhat fractur too as a as a franchise like they have a strong player but no identity like the receivers solid as heck no real identity as far as trying to win they’re win lose win lose win lose is what they

Are they went 84 and 92 in three or in uh in those Seasons with Tom Tesco as GM they’re the stepchild to the Rams that’s what they are I don’t think people even care about the Rams more so than the Chargers though yeah of course because there’s more history there also I think

The Rams are like a social event for them that’s where all like the the influencers and uh any anybody that goes to those games are just trying to put it on their Instagram that they got in those Sid field booths and we on this show and all others will do everything

That we can to make sure that the new Nissan Stadium does not become that please because going to the Super Bowl in La two years ago when it was Bengals Rams and being in the town where that team plays you had no idea you felt like it was more Cincinnati fans that called

That City home just walking around the street and going around radio row and just seeing people and getting to do that with 3L a couple of years ago like they they don’t care they do not care good luck and nobody lives downtown either like it’s not like New York City

Where so many people live downtown they’re all in the neighboring are isn’t that in Englewood too like it’s in the middle yeah we were in the middle of we were like right next to staple center and I’m not going to call it crypto.com Arena just like I’m not going to call

Twitter X right there you go yeah 615 737 1045 coming up what is Brian Callahan’s biggest challenge as the head coach of the Tennessee Titans and what is the vision that you expect in this reorganization of Titans football that we will hopefully get when Brian Callahan is announced as the head coach

Whenever that is going to be streaming live at 1045 The Zone TV Facebook live YouTube Twitter or twitch as well as the 1045 the Zone app 615 737 1045 we’ll talk some Titans next Wednesday morning an rkw is brewed up by eth and Rose 61573 7145 and a great day

Based on the final hour we are cooking up for you here on the show to subscribe to the rkw podcast sech Ramone Kayla and will wherever you download podcast hit the Subscribe button right there if you are in the early morning crowd of our 4H hour show just unrivaled in the city of

Nashville then you know you’re going to need to stick around for who’s going to be here an hour four this is hour one and in three hours that’ll happen yeah so if you’ve got a quick commute we don’t blame you we’re we’re disappointed in you but we don’t blame you I’m just

Kidding we’re not disappointed in you 615 737 1045 is our number what is the biggest challenge waiting for Titans head coach Brian Callahan day one on the job whenever he is announced what’s the number one thing that is most challenging to him number one thing questions about will Levis and his

Development I think that’s going to be probably top five question ask probably Kayla in the room you guys will be in top five question quarterback quarterback probably two of the top five quarterback um and and that’s the unique thing too about to me will Levis and his

Relationship is you know you got a quarterback guy coming in and even on will Lev’s side understanding that look most people are going to say every place he’s been and every quarterback that he’s put his hands around and touched and put a playbook in front of has done

Well can you do the exact same thing because nobody’s going to give him much of an excuse and I think uh coach Callahan will get Grace depending on which way Levis development goes or does not go to but the question surrounding him and can Levis lead this team um at

The quarterback position yeah and I mean that’s the reason why I I believe they’re bringing him in and you know I don’t know if we’ll hear from Amy Adam Strunk at the press conference maybe she will deliver you know some statements when this officially comes out as the

Hire but I would guess that you know that is a big reason why they hired Brian Callahan for that reason to make sure that they are going to be able to develop him as the quarterback moving forward I also think Ramon and will that

It’s going to be a lot here in the next month or two because you are now building for your team next year and you’re building a team that’s going to have a real flip of the roster there are a lot of guys that are not coming back

On this team and while that might be easier because you have have your own way of kind of choosing how you put this roster together with ran carthon because I’m assuming ran will have a major part of the the roster control um you are going to have to have a vision and I

Think it’s sometimes hard when you come in as a new head coach not just an assistant you got to learn the names you’ve got to know who’s the guys on your roster currently who the leaders are on your roster currently and then you’ve got the senior bull coming up

You’ve got the combine I think the organization in the next couple months for him and ran are crucial and I’m not going to use you know what the C you know word that that’s been used a lot which one I’m say collaboration and listen so

Not that one I don’t want to use that but they do need to be on the same page and they need to make sure they are as organized as they can be because this is a lot coming at a new head coach in a few months yeah and then I didn’t even

Mention oh yeah the draft the draft or 30 visits correct yeah yeah I just think it’s the turnover on the roster yeah it’s easy to say offensive line and Brian Callahan bringing in the same success he had as an offense in Cincinnati behind an offensive line that

Wasn’t very good but when you are turning over so much of this roster and 40% of the players that are going to play for you next season who may not have been here for 2023 yes you want to rid yourself of the stench of losing and the habits that caused you to be

Unsuccessful and be fourth in the AFC South there’s still a lot you have to manage and a lot of trust you have to build with people who don’t know what it’s like in this building don’t know what it’s like in Nashville don’t know what it’s like to play with the guys who

Are going to be back in Jeffrey Simmons and ammani hooker and will Levis Taj Spears DeAndre Hopkins maybe what we think I mean I think that’s the biggest thing you have to learn is his challenge will be who is under contract that wants to be here does Harold Landry still fit

Into my plans does Dio autrey I know he’s not under contract but for the sake of argument someone who was just here is he someone who makes sense with my scheme and with the defensive coordinator and with the identity that I want for this football team and I think

DeAndre Hopkins is the really big one who do I rely on who I know has been successful within this league and who maybe most importantly has done it within this building I do think there is a culture shift that is going to happen in a big way anytime you hire a new head

Coach that’s obviously going to happen but who you rely on to help bridge that Gap as you rebuild Under New Management I think is what’s most challenging I had a long conversation last night with a buddy of mine who’s been an avid Titans fans for a while man and I you know he

Said he was listen to our conversation about culture changing and stuff like that it’s like well we’ve we’ve had these conversations about the culture change and like what makes this one so much different and I think with this one you you look at it as as an outsider

Type you got a new G GM that’s going to feed you the culture that he wants right you got Miss Amy that’s on board it seems like with everything and everybody that’s involved with these types of decisions seem like whether it be an outsider whether it be a goddess you

Know coming from a a different AFC division incorporating himself into here I have to ask you guys and specifically you on N will does this hire feel different as far as replacing reshaping the way this building is operating like was everything in in place last time and

You just Incorporated a new coach it feels different because you are going the guru route okay the Titans have not gone for the guru offensive mind they have gone for the old school let’s run the football play defense leader of men and to me Brian Callahan has the opportunity and the personality to

Perhaps fit in both of those boxes but this does feel like a shift in the Titans joining the 21st century of National Football League football and when Mike Vel was hired you knew a defensive mind lunch paale Amy Adam trunk used the words leader of men when

Mike Vel was brought here you understood what was coming right you’re going to build upon the era of Eddie George of Keith bulck of Javon kurur of Steve McNair and you’re going to play hard-nosed let’s score 24 points a game and play great defense football and that’s great

But I think Amy Adams trunk in this organization is tired of winning ugly and one of the first things that Burke Nill did when he took over as the president and CEO of this organization was Implement a new slogan and a new three-word motto for this organization

Win serve entertain and it is much more entertaining to build a team around offense quarterback and points and I think that’s where this feels different that they want to go that route instead of continuing to be what they’ve always been since they came to Nashville I was

I was here when Malarkey shifted to Vel so I was in that locker room I know the players that were on that team and I think a big part of that too is this is a total different team like you have to understand the guys that were on malar’s

Team that year that were those were a lot of the leaders that were to continue to be on the team when Rabel took over Derk Henry Ben Jones Taylor lean uh you even had Kevin Byer that was growing into a leader at the time that was a

Total different roster as well so Mike vrael inherited well I think he brought a lot of culture and I’ll stand on that ground I think a lot of the guys that were leaders that decided to to listen to what he was doing were already there

You’ve got a room now I’m sorry I can only really point out Jeffrey Simmons at this point as a guy that’s like the leader in that locker room and most of the other guys are gone yeah now you’ve got a brand new head coach the that

There is going to be a culture change and it’s not going to be for the worst or anything it’s going to be what Brian Callahan wants it to be but the vision is also shifted they’ve got a stadium coming in 2027 so you have to look at the whole thing is so different

And Wesley Woodyard who joins us at 820 this morning was one of those players who carried over from the Malarkey area era to the Vel era and can speak to the fact that there already was in a culture in place because that’s 100% right uh derck Henry was growing into that I mean

At the time and Mike Malarkey in a piece in the athletic last month said or this month said if I could do it over again I would have given Derrick Henry more carries and DeMarco Murray less carries at the end because at that point it was DeMarco Murray um and not Derrick Henry

And then it was Dion Lewis and I remember when Deion Lewis was brought here that the conversation was okay Deion Lewis is the Patriot Way vabel familiarity he’s 1A dereck’s 1B and then it’s almost like Mike Vel kind of backed his way into Derek becoming a machine

And becoming the best running back in the NFL Over The Last 5 Years CU Eddie George changed his mindset oh uh in aam Banks Andrew M brings up a good point and as far as I asked the question do you does this this this High feel different than the others and Andrew M

And F&M Bank chat says it’s a modernizing high we have been a air quotation mark Smashmouth offense for so long and I’m curious what he does with them 100% M if you’re going to open a shiny new stadium you can’t play four yards in a cloud of dust football and

Not score 30 points for two straight years yeah like that doesn’t fit inside a new building with perfect grass perfect weather like that’s the other part of this that I don’t think we’ve talked about when you have a nicer warmer field is always the same stadium like that you can now play

A prettier quote unquote style of football cuz the weather will be nicer when it’s cold and push comes to shove and you get the football weather time of year like it is easier to play pretty football if you know what I mean from like let’s throw it around and look like

You know what Rand carthon said Golden State Warriors football like when you’re playing on chewed up grass in 30° or last week 0 degrees in Nashville outside I think you’re less likely to make that shift like think of all the teams that are playing that style of football like

All of them other than Kansas City are playing in warm weather San Francisco’s playing in warm weather Miami is playing in warm weather Tampa Bay kind of yeah and and Canalis there warm weather LA Rams and Sofi yeah I already said s Frank okay Rams and Sofi I mean Justin

In in the Chargers that’s what they want to be guess what it’s also going to bring attention because it’s not going to be just football games they’re going to be hosting major events and that’s always associated with the Titans I mean it is it’s their stadium so you’re

You’re going to be bringing so much more attention to this team because of all the other things that come with that new stadium you want your team to be legit mhm Al Nashville first up on the phone lines at 61573 7145 what’s up Alvin good morning how y doing morning Alvin good

Morning good morning uh I actually had uh two questions three questions but my first question was how soon does uh the culture staff have to be together as far as the timing for you know um the Senior Bowl and everything you know to look at a prospects and everything that was my

First question uh my second question was um uh even before we had even got this coach I had thought about uh do y’all remember uh Jonah Williams uh Cincinnati Bagel T they mov from the left to the right uh would you look at him at left tackle even though they they

Moved him because I really didn’t think he was doing too bad at left tackle I mean the whole Lion was horrible because you know they went with Jamar Chase over a l that that year to draft but would you look at him you know as far as you

Know a draft pick um I mean as far as a uh left tackle and then you can not maybe do other things in the draft like move down in the draft and get other players on the draft and my last question um as far as uh if both tackles

Are gone do you move down in the draft or do you take a receiver or do you take the tight end out of Georgia y have a good morning you too thank you Alvin uh lots to unpack there let’s start with Jonah Williams I am personally not interested in Jonah Williams I ain’t

Overly hyped with you and Alvin only for this reason right here if you go get one of those rookie left tackles you build a one and a two you got a a seconde guy and a rookie that grow up together that’s to me that’s the best plan for

Success is to build from the bottom with youth uh so that answer is number three to me with that one too uh for you Alvin so Jonah Williams not overly sold unless it’s for depth and experience and he allowed eight sacks last year Adam in

The fnn bank chat says no one will like him because he played at Alabama yes cuz everyone hated Derrick Henry cuz he played Alabama right we play for the tit cincin like him okay they didn’t pick up his option like his perform we can judge it on his performance right now okay

Like his performance suggested it is not worth it to me to sign him unless he’s going to continually play right tackle and to me you still got two right tackles in the house right now so if you’re allowing eight sacks as a right tackle no we’re trying to upgrade here

Folks over years yes question I respect it too but the Homegrown part we’ve said so many times on the show is so important because you want to build continuity over time offensive linemen do not grow on trees no or in free agency that’s all genetics no uh the next question about trading

Back unless somehow both left tackles that you want are not there at number seven I would be very surprised if they trade it back but again until they go through free agency we’re all just throwing D set of Dart Bor would blindfold on and then the first one he

Ask coaches timeline I think you get the head coach you get the DC He’s already calling players and from that point you can build out your staff over time I think you got a little bit more grace on building the staff he may have two three

Weeks to get the rest of his guys sure the senior bull is usually the GM and the head coach g go together yeah yeah as far as Cincinnati players who could come here I feel like the most likely is Tyler Boyd yeah at this point because there’s a nonzero chance that t Higgins

Gets franchise tagged by the Bengals that’s what I would do if I was I like Tyler Boyd yeah I like Tyler Boyd too of course going to have to be a value yeah let’s go to Ryan and Gallatin up next on the phone lines hey Ryan yeah I’m excited about Kahan and I

Think that Le’s floor is a starter and I get that because tanah Hill’s a starter he won a lot of games and our offense looks so much better with Levis even though he had the split reps with tanah Hill and Malik in training camp and I

Think the now is going to be qb1 all training camp I’m excited no doubt thank you Ryan biggest biggest statement I’ve heard I don’t know which one of y’all said it first but you can’t be boring and bad yeah you cannot and I think that’s where you got to transition to if

You’re gonna be again I felt challenge one bud he asked me about this higher I did and I think you fans should challenge Us in the conversations that we have sometimes from time to time but it’s like what what makes this one feel so different and they end ended up

Continuing talking by saying I don’t want to go into games and hopeful that hey we’ll win and we’re up and then we lose bad in the second half like that’s been the storyline right or you were bad in the first half and oh we’ll crank it

Out to try to get us 10 points so that just a you know honorable loss and I was just like golly he really had a therapy session from me with me yesterday but that’s my guy and he’s been a Avid Titan fans for a very long time 615 737 1045 speaking

Of drafts Mel Kyper put out his first one yesterday who does he have the Titans taking at number seven and which quarterbacks does he have going one two and three Mel Kyper has QBs going in each of the first three picks but not in the order you’d expect we’ll tell you about it

Next rkw is brewed by Athan roast on 1045 The Zone and coming up in 15 minutes a special announcement about a special guest a big conversation that you will be very interested in coming up at 9:30 this morning we will reveal who that is in 15 minutes it’s all we’ll say you

Have 15 more minutes to place your bets nobody has been correct yet who do you guys think it is I don’t know Jim Hara that’s just the first person that was on Twitter that I saw just Rob won’t tell me yet so love Todd hton we have yeah the pride of

Knoxville Central High School man congratulations Hall of Famer and the last instate quarterback to start a game for the University of Tennessee at quarterback and coming up in 30 minutes we’re going to have the guy who might be the nexton State quarterback to start a game for Tennessee and britland Academy

Quarterback George McIntyre who is going to join us at 720 thank you appreciate it Babs L Mel Kyer has his first mock draft he’s got Joe Al going to the Tennessee Titans at seven let’s go first tackle off the board from K first tackle off the board so the pathway to seven that

Mel Kyper has and again all of these things will change it’s okay free agency hasn’t happened yet this is mostly a pointless exercise that’s why we’re talking about it before the sun comes up getting more pointless though closer we get Caleb Williams number one the Vegas odds are overwhelming that Caleb

Williams goes one to Chicago it’s going to happen so before everyone conf refuses that and we play the game of like well maybe no Caleb Williams is going one and he’s going to go to the Bears okay don’t freeze and cold takes me it’s January 24th uh number two Mel

Kyz Jaden Daniels ahead of Drake May wow to the Washington commanders and then Drake May going three to New England how do we feel about that Drake May North Carolina quarterbacks man has he grown do we need to get rid of the snitch that was Miss trabis instead of

Judging him I think that’s unfair to Drake May yeah yeah I think it’s unfair to Drake May he’s a m brown Coach quarterback umina I know I know I’m just just talking through it man like yeah it’s a little wonky not wonky it’s a little iffy for me just because um

Honestly all three of those teams really need to hit the quarterback they they have to make make sure that this is their guy yeah and I like Drake may I I can see him being a New England type I I’ll give him that I that’s about as far

As I’m going so okay you’re surprised you’re less surprised about Jen Daniels going two though I am I’m J Dan is going to to me make more sense I’m going be honest especially the DC especially the DC I don’t know especially the DC I I see him being a better quarterback in DC

Than Drake May and New England being a quarterback I’ll admit I know more about Jaden Daniels being here in SEC country yeah and you know seeing what he did this season there’s a lot of things I think he he’s going to have to you know

Do which is also put some weight on that body but I I’m not surprised yeah I’m not surprised by Drake I mean by uh Jen D’s going to see I think I think Drake May is a better quarterback out of the two of them and he is more athletic than

What people are going to give him credit for just get ready for all of the classic lunch paale white guy athlete cliché come draft time he’s he’s sneaky athletic guys I mean he he’s not a runner but he’s mobile he’s he’s a real first in last out kind of guy to go to

Your point he had five games rushing over a 100 yards last year he’s got grit yeah I like it he’s a coach’s son perfect in New England High football IQ he’d be perfect in New England he’s a high about MC Jones none indidual true well M Jones is overweight that was a

Disrespect that was a reach swag and to quill your fear that he has Mitch trabis Ramon just to put it in perspective he he only started uh two years worth of Seasons had 63 touchdowns 8,000 yards Mitch trabis who did start three seasons uh only had 41 touchdowns 4700 yards so

Almost doubling the the statistical output of one Mitch what’s Drake May’s completion percentage do you have it I I can find that for you Drake May’s completion percentage is over his career 64 but his senior year 63% Mitch trabis was 68% interesting that’s a bad offensive line in New England ranked worse first

In the NFL and pass block win rate at 43.5% it is crazy to remember that there are offensive lines at this league worse than the Tennessee Titans sure the New York Giants might have another one of them uh who are up here in the top 10 as well Jets they’ve got the Arizona

Cardinals at four taking Marvin Harrison Jr Mel Kyper does that late they got a run on quarterback top three teams those QBs Marvin Harrison Jr four Brock Bowers five to the Chargers oh gosh just Herbert would have no more excuses he wouldn’t figure it out bud he

Didn’t really have excuses I don’t care if you have a potato at quarterback figure it out potato he basically didon as it is Malik Neighbors at six to the Giants yeah Joe Al at seven to the Titans like we mentioned Dallas Turner first defensive player off the board to

Atlanta does feel like they go defense that that’s one I wouldn’t be mad at if the Titans did decided I know Joe Al’s the number one guy but I wouldn’t even be mad at that one about Dallas Turner here wouldn’t even be mad at it interesting well uh let’s let’s put a

Pin in that and get back to that in a later offseason conversation romad dun nine to the Bears I love that guy and Olu fashanu the Penn State tackle at 10 to the Jets eight tackles going in the first round according to Mel Kyper and uh Robert Walsh was very deliberate in

Asking whether he had the Ravens picking 31 or 32 and he has the Ravens picking 31 oh he has the Niners picking 32 what do you guys want Ravens I think they would e they would probably be in a position to draft a little bit for the future as topheavy as the roster

Is so probably taking a left tackle somebody to sit behind Ronnie Stanley or potentially start across from at Morgan Moses or go Corner uh Marlon Humphrey’s getting older he’s the only contracted cornerback on the roster everyone else is in the rookie draft contract so either one of those positions I I could

Make it work but if one of those wide receivers Falls because so many tackles have gone G it would be very hard for them not to continue to build around Lam more unless he’s he’s Hall of Fame ready late first round second round is is perfect for like a starting wide

Receiver especially if there’s a run on on uh tackles you can get some good wide receivers in the second round Z flowers late first yep 615 737 1045 coming up next a special announcement on a special guest who will join us at 9:30 this morning Titans fans turn up your radio just a

Armful offer on the table and discussions have now shifted to how he will fill out his staff per Mike guolo and to Vegas where the Raiders have hired their new general manager and he’s pretty familiar to Chargers fans Tom Tesco staying in the AFC West after being the general manager of the

Chargers for the last 11 years after this week general manager and head coaching hires they currently two general manager jobs and five head coaching jobs that have yet to be filled now to rkw where we find out who the special guest at 9:30 will be on your

Home for the Titans and the BS this is 1045 The Zone rkw is brewed by aan roast on 1045 The Zone hour number two on a Big Show this morning on 1045 The Zone full crew is in studio raone Foster Kayla Anderson Robert Walsh our producer I’m will

Bowling coming up in 20 minutes we’ll talk with the newest Tennessee quarterback commit from right here in our backyard Brentwood Academy quarterback George McIntyre who gave his commitment to Tennessee on Monday he will stop by in 20 minutes we’ll talk about where he wants to improve individually heading into a big senior

Season as not only a player but as a recruiter for Josh hpel class of 2025 looking forward to catching up with him guy was playing a basketball game like 12 hours ago busy and now he’ll be on Ramone Kayla and will coming up in 20 minutes Wesley Woodyard former Titans

Linebacker stops by at 8:20 this morning Austin price of all Quest at 8:45 rent Brian of Titans radio at 9:00 and at 9:30 this morning Tennessee Titans president and CEO Burke Nill will join us here on the show 9:30 in studio this morning what was that that was Robert W Oh I thought

That was you K 9:30 this morning no we never hollered nobody Titans president and CEO Burke Nill with just a little bit to talk about yeah we get face to face with him he’s coming in studio to have a conversation with us man we’ll see what kind of information we can

Relay to you guys on what’s Happening and the going Zone and everything else so uh Burke doesn’t usually talk a whole lot uh at least publicly like that so I’m looking to see this uh where this conversation leads in you know what we get answered and when he does and he’s

Been on our show before he just has really good insight into everything and right now with the Changing of the Guard this is is a great time to have him on to talk about so much from the head coach to you know the next couple of years uh before they get into that

Stadium yep looking forward to it and looking forward to learning more about the new vision of the new Tennessee Titans new stadium new head coach that is on the way and a new vision from Amy Adam Shunk and Rand carthon the details of which I think could be particularly

Interesting to Titans fans and BR Nill is the best person to speak to those details considering that he is the head of everything under Amy Adam trunk and Amy as the owner Burke as the president and CEO the guy in the room when this decision to move on for Mike Vel

Happened yeah no better person to understand and to relay what Amy Adam trunk’s vision is for the Tennessee Titans moving forward always enjoy our visits with Burke and I think for Titans fans specific specifically good time to hear from him with more than just a head

Coach that I believe is going to be changing yeah and we’re expecting that official announcement to happen sometime soon yeah sometime soon uh hopefully real soon we were talking about the timeline and stuff like that we’ll see what it looks like moving forward but uh football business is about to take off

Even more we still got games going on but the outside of football stuff for the people who are eliminated from the tournament that is the playoffs um starts on next Monday then the combine is soon after and we were speaking uh off air a little while ago about the 30

Visits that team have to have like so there hopefully I’d expect the Titans getting all their ducks in a row as far as how this offseason is going to move forward for them 65737 1045 what is the first question that you want to ask Burke Nill the

First question that you have as a fan or you all as radio hosts and just people generally interested in this team what is most important to learn from Titans leadership right now how important it was to get the right guy for you how do you get to uh Brian

Callahan um that decision we’re talking about a strong personality coach in Vel how did you H how did you feel about replacing him with a guy like Brian Callahan I think that’s probably one of the more important questions especially because it’s this fan base is still in

Somewhat it was the five stages of grief at some point five or six stages of grief where think reality set in of course it’s the healing part of it now so how do you heal with a guy like bri Callahan to and and how did you get to

That decision and the biggest thing for me is uh part of that Vision which I think we’re going to hear much more about here in the days to come uh what what was the vision for coming up with possibly just a new uh just really outlined structure like what will that

Structure look like cuz that’s been a lot of the gray area in terms of why Mike V isn’t here possibly because he wanted uh a certain amount of control so what is that structure going to look like then because I’m assuming Amy Adam Strunk is going to make it clear what

That is and who has control over what because that is how you’re going to have to start the the the reset there is to make sure things are clear and by the way the five stages of is I always bring up is denial we saw that anger always

Pops up bargaining is like okay I guess we got to move on depression sinks in and I think we’re probably at no we’re definitely at Acceptance Now sure yeah many are I think my first question for Brick Nill is is it ranahan or kalaran oh

God which one do we go do we want to make the GM name first is it is it okay let’s just make sure they work let’s just make sure it works here year one nicely and then we can do all the collaborations and the words I am I am

As anti nickname as anyone because we are too quick to give guys nicknames who are Rost Fringe roster guys so I’m I’m hesitant I’m I’m totally SAR like at a minimum until we can really start to see so in kalaran We Trust t-shirts that I’ve already ordered should be canceled

Yes what you call it ca what in kalaran We Trust I got to give Jack Gentry of AD toz Sports the credit for uh naming rights on that uh yeah I I definitely want to kind of leaving so and so we trust behind I know that’s the one I’m I’m I’m looking n

You know I’m kidding I as anti- nickname as any person yeah I ain’t been picking up on your on your uh backhanded stuff this morning will it’s not backhanded but like his his I didn’t know he had a sense of humor like this look again I I

Have to bring something to the table like Caleb wanted this hire weeks ago you uh said Monday that this was going to happen like I I can’t just sit here and twidle my thumbs like I have to I have to offer something towards this radio program your humor has been good

To this morning I just been missing out on and I so surprised slept well last night too which is weird man well I woke up at 4:00 this morning but besides welcome to the club I wake up at 4: every morning do you wake up at 4: every

Morning I try not to I’m be honest with you my alarm goes off at 5:30 every more Duty yeah uh but yeah that I want to leave that one behind the in whoever We Trust like n let’s just go win some games but if it’s in her Moon we trust a

You don’t want to believe in me there’s only one person I believe in okay and he ain’t human okay but besides that uh no just win some games cuz that’s going to cure everything around the city Ron slay is pretty Heavenly 615 737 1045 6’8 Jeremy in Hendersonville is next hey

Jeremy going on guys um I just wanted a couple couple points here or one. one question I guess um first off I I think that we should all um think about how lucky I guess you I say lucky we were kind of a blessing and disguise that

Tanah Hill got hurt and we were able to see Levis go out there and perform because because if we weren’t able to see him last year think about all the question marks we would have versus how excited we are about the future um going forward because we now know what we have

In Levis so uh I think that that’s something that kind of gets lost in all this is just how how fortunate we were to be able to see Levis perform and know that he’s kind of a you know something that we can build around going forward

Um and then my question is you know you know we went what six and 11 last year we got a bunch of cap space we got some top 10 picks um how how many years do you think I mean do you think next year is is a it’s appropriate to say hey I

Think we can be competitive and and be a winning football team and compete in the AFC South or do you think we’re a couple years away thanks Jeremy appreciate the call I think all of that to me hinges on what is Will Evis because CJ trout of the Texans just

Did it they went from having two top five pigs to being competitive in one year but I I think your best case scenario in terms of competing in terms of just regular season because you get in the playoffs and things are a crapshoot and it’s rolling of dice but I

Think you look at what Houston and Green Bay did last year and you say I’ll have what they’re having yeah the thing about Houston to me is they had a better base as far as the talent that they had acquired on that roster over the last two or three

Years years they’ve been bad longer yeah they’ve been bad longer and I I think you’re at a better starting spot than they are as far as trying to compete in South if you go from 4 to two next year in the AFC South I think that’s a dub I

Don’t know if winning the the the South this quickly with where this roster is we’re not trying to overspend as far as free agency goes now if you hit on some very good value pick dudes for one and two one-year deals draft picks and your rookies from this year contributed a

Whole lot better and the offensive structure get a little bit better too I think you got a real strong opportunity as far as competing and making the South uh the AFC South one of those type of Divisions to fight for uh but again Houston situation I think is totally

Different will said it perfectly they were trash longer than you have been in recent history I don’t like to compare um so I want to say with this team you got to see a few more wins obviously but my biggest thing is you need to see Improvement in some major major

Categories offensive line cornerbacks the development of the quarterback like that’s what I want to see which will equal some more wins and then you can start to build off of hey winning the AFC South I think that’s important for them not to compare at this point I

Think if we uh real quick we I think if we look at certain players next year like scaroni if we’re going to follow PFF and the stuff they grade by Peter SC go from the grades he had this year to being in the 70s mid 80s as far as the

Grade they give him I think that’s a dub and something you’re stacking it’s just hard making that statement without even knowing who is on staff who’s on the roster who they’ve drafted what veterans are back is DeAndre Hopkins here who’s the left tackle like I I just have too

Many question marks about this team before I can say it’s a onee a two-year or a three-year rebuild 615 737 1045 when we come back Tennessee commit George McIntyre will join us the five-star quarterback from right down the road from us at Brentwood Academy talks about his recruitment his

Rkw is brewed by aan roast on 1045 The Zone it’s great to hear this music before the sun comes up great to hear this music anytime of course with vfl raone Foster with Kayla Anderson I’m will bowling we are very pleased to be joined by Future vs quarterback and

Brentwood Academy Jr George McIntyre here this morning George I know you were playing a basketball game like less than 12 hours ago so uh thanks for making the time for us this morning how are you I’m doing good appreciate youall having me on absolutely absolutely well first of

All congratulations uh on the commitment earlier this week and I’m sure you’ve been asked this question about a hundred times this week so I’ll make it 10 101 what made Tennessee the best fit for you you know I really think it down comes down to coach hypo and uh you know

He’s he’s a quarterback guy and uh you know I can’t wait to play in his system and there’s no place I’d rather be than in Knoxville so what is it like being recruited by Josh hypo what do you like the most about him what do you feel like

You’ve learned about him through the recruitment process yeah he’s a very personable guy he’s also put together a very good quarterback room of Staff members uh it’s very there’s a lot of different personalities and different ways they can help you and uh you know it’s kind

Of a full court press once they once they key in on you and uh you know he’s very personable he doesn’t do a ton of recruiting talk he kind of just develops a relationship and he goes from there so obviously I think the the student section found you in Knoxville over the

Weekend maybe having one of those conversations and yeah I was up there too in the arena Saturday it was it cool hearing a we want George chant with you know with Josh hpel sitting there and with a lot of recruits up there at Knoxville over the weekend yes sir definitely was cool it

Shows how much their their student body and you know their fans care about their their Athletics so d means a lot George man congratulations on the decision um super cool process to go through I I just have to ask you too how was the process as far as you coming up from

Seventh e8th grade to where you are now in your junior year realizing that I’m actually being recruited hard and I’m G have to have you know make a decision sometime soon this year what was that process like for you um you know it started off great um

Recruiting wise but then like you kind of got to get over like oh I got this offer um and then you kind of like I kind of got to a point like this year where I was like okay I need to like narrow them down and uh you know really get to like

Three or four schools then go from there but I think Tennessee made it easy for me they made it uh not very stressful you know and uh I I’ve kind of known I was going there for a while and I’m just glad glad to announced it a couple days

Ago so one thing about Tennessee or middle Tennessee that is is word travels fast and conversations are always had I’d actually heard about you being more of a basketball player than football player about a year or two or so ago what made the decision to focus in more

To football than it was at basketball yes sir basketball is definitely my first love I think uh he caught me any time before my you know sophomore year and if I was working out extra for sports it was always basketball um kind of put all my all my

Extra time and work into it but then I would say like kind of when I was a rising sophomore I I kind of knew I had a really good chance to be the starting quarterback and kind of Lo in on football and then kind of during the

Sophomore season I fell fell in love with football the intensity that uh you know I feel like you never really experienced during basketball the intensity of football every play so matters so much and it’s just so much fun so yeah H how will it be also on the

Recruiting side for you for other players that are coming out in 25 and also 26 too I know you guys do a lot of like seven on seven stuff these days how has that been with communicating with dudes from other states uh especially offensive Lin not you know my love

Interest yeah George I love the offensive Lin how’s that been for you yeah it’s been great I think Tennessee’s already got a couple you know Big Time guys that uh they really like them and Tennessee likes them as well and uh you know kind of me stepping

In the recruiting role I you know I reach out to a couple different guys every day but also you know uh the instate kids there’s there’s a lot more than there usually is coming out of Tennessee I think Tennessee’s probably offered seven or eight or maybe even 10

Of them already so you’re definitely going try to lock down the state and then uh move on to National guys Tennessee quarterback commit George McIntyre joining us this morning on Ramone Kayla and will uh George when you did your announcement video it was very well said and you documented saying you

Know this isn’t just a decision it is a calling so talk a little bit more about you know why you felt like this was really part of your journey yeah so I’m I’m a third I’ll be a third generation uh volunteer you know my grandfather has a degree from there

My mom went there um her two sisters went there and then my my sister right now goes there as well so um you know there’s definitely you know I’ve got a lot of family up there you know even more than that that’s extended and uh you know I’ve just been around Tennessee

Football kind of my whole life and yeah I can’t wait to actually get up there and start playing for him George you’ve got to have like somewhere in your guys’ households just a room full of Tennessee gear right I mean there’s got to be like tons of it something like that

Um when it comes to the culture at Tennessee and you’ve mentioned Josh hyp but with the guys you’ve met and the vibe that you got there how is it maybe different from other places you had you know visited yeah I think the energy kind of electric throughout the you know the

Facility and especially neand on game day and you know uh the basketball arena on game day the fans care and uh the fans are a lot more happy when they’re winning and they’re kind of doing that right now on football and basketball so um you know coach I definitely brought

The energy back to to Knoxville and uh I’m excited to see where he can take it britland Academy quarterback in future of va George McIntyre our guest and George I remember talking to uh coach Cody white a couple of years ago about you right before you made your second

Start in a game we had in the zone here uh against CPA and and talking about how the system you guys ran specifically your sophomore year is so similar to what Tennessee runs now with Josh hyp and that artb derivative kind of system that that you had do you feel like that

Was an advantage in just your comfort level with Tennessee knowing that hey I’ve had a lot of success playing in this offense before yes sir I think it’s a great system um you know I I’ll actually be on my fourth system uh this year as a

Senior and uh and you know I really did like that it’s kind of wide splits it’s very different every throw is probably you know seven to eight yards farther because the the receivers are so much farther out there but it really does stretch out the defense and you can get

A lot of vertical shots out of it which is what what I like to do so speaking of that uh your new coach uh Paul Wade has a really cool connection to your family and I know this story has kind of G gone around a little bit but uh his first

Coaching gig was with your grandfather the way I understand it right just how cool is that kind of the the family connection you guys have there going into your senior season yes sir it’s definitely really cool uh my grandfather’s very impactful uh I think he died he died when I was

You know 10 or 11 but um you know his his legacy lives on and you know stuff like that it’s really cool to happen I actually didn’t really know a ton about Coach Wade until he got the job you know he’s been great ever since but um you

You know I think that is really cool that was my grandfather’s last job he had already retired from uh from coaching in college and you know he was just kind of doing the DCA thing as a just to keep himself busy and it is cool though that was coach Wade’s first experience

You know however many years later I bet that’s a cool moment for him uh searching his grandson so that George individually for you as you go into your senior season I know you’ve won a state championship in basketball and and the goal of britwood Academy is always getting to and winning a state

Championship but individually for you as you talk with Coach hyle as you kind of scout yourself going into the senior season what are some of the areas you feel like you can improve in going into your last year of high school yes sir the standard’s always the

Standard at ba and uh you know some things I’m going to be trying to improve on going in next year is uh definitely get in the weight room as much as I can uh even with basketball and then um uh I would say you know going into another

New offense got to learn new types of uh footwork Styles so uh definitely going to get in with uh coach Wade and find the fot find uh the the footwork he wants and you know tirelessly work at that until the first game George what are some things you trying to accomplish

For yourself I know within the team is always the goal of winning the state and you know bringing more notoriety to you guys but for yourself personally what are you trying to accomplish this year over the summer and into the fall uh over the summer I think Elite 11

Is a big one um you know I think it’s a direct correlation between the guys that that win it every year and you know who goes on to be successful in college and the NFL um so that’s a big one and then you know School season wise I’m just

Just ready to get out get out there and try to win some games and you know bring ba back to what it should be George I got nothing else for you but go valls man you may as a guy that from Tennessee that committed to Tennessee also man go

Vs man I can’t wait to see you up there I’m curious is it going to be any different do you think watching games now that you know like you’re you’re definitely going to be a part of this team in the future yes ma’am for sure I think I’m

Gonna be a little bit more detailed in the way I look at personalities and stuff like that I love it well uh George not to make rone feel old but it is one of my favorite hobbies on the show that the last uh quarterback from Tennessee on scholarship to play for Tennessee

Played with Ramone actually back in 2008 like what and then the last one to start a game just went into the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame last night and Todd hton uh what does that mean to you just being from here I know you spoken about that

This isn’t a decision it’s a calling uh their the quarterback position has gotten so good in this state just to be able to represent that in your State’s color I imagine it’s got to be pretty cool yes sir definitely um you know they they kind of brought that up to me a

While ago uh the quarterback staff over at Tennessee did and uh you know I didn’t really like realize the true meaning of it until like maybe like a couple months ago um kind of just through talking with PA Manning and seeing how big he got and he’s from New

Orleans and seeing how big other guys have gotten um you know henen hooker from I think Virginia stuff like that was North Carolina but um you know just the prospect of doing your own State’s a big big thing for me you know I I visited a lot of places all across the

Country and couldn’t still couldn’t find a place better than the one in my home state so uh speaking of those quarterbacks too the one that’s on campus right now Nico iamal Ava have you been able to build a relationship with them or at least exchange phone numbers

How has that been because uh from hinden to Joe there was a great communication and relationship and I expect it also to be the same with you whenever you go back up on on campus have you been able to build that relationship with Nico and other guys that are

There yes so every time I’ve been around Nico he’s been a great guy really positive and I’m excited to see what he can do with the keys of the offense this year definitely love it George best of luck to you man thank you so much for

Making the time I I cannot imagine the amount of requests and conversations and congratulations you’ve been given uh over the past couple of days and I will throw in a go Eagles for you there as well so we’re uh we’re rooting for you and uh certainly a lot of folks around

Here glad you’re evolved thanks so much for the time yes sir appreciate it Go Eagles and go balls sir there he is George McIntyre future Tennessee quarterback with us here this morning on herone Kayla and will I love that quote I’ve been to places all over the country

But I did not see anything better than what was in my home state yep it’s cool too and and towards the end when he brought the fact that how you know of course winning helps a whole lot and how you blow up your popularity and how you

Build your platform and brand like if if you aren’t a athlete in this era that understanding number one performance means everything you can talk a good game and people can talk highly of you but your performance will travel and people will talk about it from that

Point and the point that he made about what UT and mostly any D1 school he right if you got the goods you’re going to get everything that you’re asking for and I think I will say selfishly UT do a really good job at that yeah they do um

At least in this state a rabbit as hell when it comes down to how we fan out and uh to recognize that and also somewhat expected if you got the goods that’s all a part of the process so I would challenge most parents to curate your kids uh sharpen them challenge them also

To understand that it’s more than just Sports in college right now there is somewhat of a business side to it too and depending on where you want to go and how you want to go about your career be strategic with it don’t just go because it’s the hot thing or hey they

Had a great season n look at either you can have a direct impact Build It Up the way you want to or continue success at some places and I think it’s important too and he is a legacy so this is kind of like in his blood and I completely

Understand that part of it I did love how though when I asked about the culture and he feels the energy that Josh hyp has breathed life back into in Tennessee I mean it from the the bustling of campus and the other sports teams you know supporting each other

From basketball to softball like that’s all a part of what is drawing these players now to universities right is it’s it’s about the energy that you want the full experience like you want to win games and you want to be on the best football team that you can be on but you

Want to still be able to have that experience and I just feel like Tennessee athletics at this time is living its best life and the support they all get from one another like it’s contagious and and winning then is contagious like I feel like that’s what

You get right now at Tennessee is the whole package I think the way this expands to just being a college football and NFL conversation and rone I think you can speak to this from whatever your first interview you ever did was like on a radio show or whatever hearing George

McIntyre talk as a junior in high school it feels like with nil and with more media and with more opportunities and the fact that a 16-year-old kid can go to a Tennessee basketball game and 21 year olds who go to school there recognize him and are chanting we want

George it feels like the the growing up process has to start earlier for these guys now and the fact that you are a legitimate person that people recognize in the community like right when you get your driver’s license that forces you to grow up more quickly and it forces you

To go through that maturity process and I think it’s going to be interesting to see how this generation of football players handle that because it doesn’t mean that everyone’s going to be more mature it just feels like that maturity will reveal itself earlier maybe for some guys or or maybe

Guys do grow up a bit more learning that like all right I’ve got to get my act together and know how to do an interview and be polished and sound like a recruiter and sound like a college quarterback while I still have a full year of of high school left like it just

Hearing him talk he is so impressive in the way he can communicate with us and speak and understand his role within a recruiting class and within a football program that’s got to be difficult while you’re still in high school it it does it it does well because like you said

It’s not just a game anymore as much so there’s still an aspect of and and JTB and F&M Bank chat did say this is having fun to a part of it also and I think you can’t lose that by thinking so much about oh man what’s my ranking how am I

Going to perform how they going to look at like it is still a game you got to have that component of it too so it seems to me he still has that personality and some of the the young guys I’ve ran into around the state so

Far too but yes well the the the idea of growing up being able to do these type of situations right here where you can come on the radio or in person one of the things I I hear people at these uh spots that I I am at that are coaches or

That world is the handshake the eye contact and the conversation still matters too you you get a lot of engagement on the handshake eye contact and the conversation you have to be able to have those types of things still because at the end of the day when you

Do or potentially go to that next level um that’s when you have to really start playing a man’s game or a woman’s game of being in business and understanding it too so I just think and I hope they’re more polished to have conversations about what they want their

Career to look like how they want to negotiate and who they’re going to surround themselves around too so I do think it has expedited the process by putting them in this uh space more often than they ever have in Heck on three is about to have a summit of the top 50

Players and they just opened their brand new building downtown here George the first guy to be interviewed there and sign their wall of guys who have been interview there a summit for high school players had it last year and the and the parents to break down what we’re talking

About right now and all the guys that we’re talking about is five stars from this past class who just committed and some of them early enrolled we all there here in Nashville yeah it’s cool too Nashville is really the the home of this and people who are unfamiliar rivals in

247 are have been in an office Park in Brentwood for a long time like you guys are if if you are unfamiliar like we live in the recruiting Hub of college football in the US yeah Rivals is now in the CMT building here are they really

That’s uh 247 oh is that 247 CMT and Paramount that’s all CS to 247 Rivals is Yahoo yeah and all that stuff and then on three Shannon Terry’s newest Venture geez and we’ll talk with Austin price of on three and vquest coming up at 8:45 this morning 615 737 1045 NFL headlines

When we come back NFL Executives in an ESPN plus article have predicted where veteran quarterbacks will end up which of these are the best or worst fits we’ll discuss it next hey Kayla Anderson here with save a tree uh you he hear us talking about them all

The time Dean Glascock and his crew do an excellent job have been doing this for 29 years almost 30 years now and making sure that your trees and shrubs are set especially this time of year this is the year you want really want to dig into the services winter is here

That means winter storms we just saw the big one last week and I’m sure there’s at least one more to come you got the ice wind freezing rain and that’s what we’re going to get a lot around here in January and February save a tree can

Help keep that winter uh and all the storms that come with it from breaking branches Downing full trees they help protect your home from all of that damage and then also with their dormant pruning Services they a tree will come out they will take that weight off your

Trees from the snow that you got in ornamental plants to help withstand the ice and Winds of Winter and by being proactive at taking the weight off of it it actually helps decrease the chance of losing a tree or having uh falling limbs uh on your house that’s going to put

Your family in danger so give the experts a call today Dean Glascock and his crew over 29 years of EXP experience it’s savat tree.com so it’s s v a t.com or 2999999 that’s 615 2999999 Wednesday morning an rkw is brewed up by Athan roast and coming up we have got a

Loaded second half of the show former Titans linebacker Wesley Woodyard will join us in a half hour at 8:20 Austin price of all quested on three at 8:45 Rhett briyan at 9 and in case you missed our announcement just about 45 minutes ago feels like it was like five

Minutes ago Titans president and CEO Burke Nill will stop by in studio this morning at 9:30 615 737 1045 is our number when I say the words Russell Wilson what team is he playing for next year because he has SPN plus and Jeremy Fowler has a prediction that is intriguing to me

Falcons where I’m going Falcons not Atlanta I’m going to say the Steelers oh that would be interesting that would be so Mike T with freaking guy doing laps around a plane if you had an offense that could do anything in Pittsburgh they they would have been a team no one

Wanted to face in ever since they lost their 11-year interior offensive lineman it’s just been tough never recovered look at look at the record okay look at the standard okay I mean couldn’t be my I love ramono back on the Steelers that’s what I’m talking about I feel

Like Tomlin would be one of the only people too that could really put him in check would have to respect it about oh go ahead go ahead now goe no I was just going to reveal what the destination is so you continue speculating I was just

Going to say when it comes down to that stuff too he would allow him to be him but the operation of how he want the offense to look the same thing that you kind of expect it’s like hey all right now this is a this is a running game

Right here this week or it it it’d be different I don’t know I can’t see it but heck I’m I’m not also Nostradamus either so can you imagine the amount of times Mike Tomlin would say we do not care to Russell Wilson yeah 100% um what about Antonio Pierce keeping him in

Check Antonio I can see him more there than I almost anywhere else that’s why they have that is the prediction they need it that is the prediction uh one exec says the Raiders need a vet and they are one of Wilson’s original teams he wanted to go to he’d stay in the AFC

West West Coast Sia can do a Vegas residency as a live performer yep there you go she’s a big part of it let me let me make sure that that’s out there where they go she’s a big part of it I’m sure and it’s not that she has to but the

Fact that she loves to is the thing that you know he’s got to make sure they’re on par with um Russ is an industry their entire family is now too but Russ also has to realize this wherever he’s going next as to your point will about a

Strong head coach your first business is football my brother other notes yeah no I was just saying he needs to get back to that yeah right yeah right I agree other notes that are interesting in this ESPN plus article uh one exec says the Packers are winning the Super Bowl in

2025 so that’s one prediction other one has the Cardinals as a playoff team says that’s the best four- win team I’ve seen in a while they make you earn everything I hate when I say that uh other prediction CJ stad will finish top three in MVP voting I don’t

Think he’s gonna be far off from that this year to be honest with you right Baker Mayfield resigns in Tampa that what is a foregone conclusion does he get comeback player to you dear Hamlin I still I love dear Hamlin but I still don’t really I don’t really get that one

I’m I think it’s Joe flacko Robert Robert was just about to say that I’m refraining I’m refraining because it’s kind of ridiculous like it it is like it needs to be Joe flacko dear Hamlin hardly played this year I think it’s Baker I wouldn’t do you know I

Would put both of them ahead ofor there needs to be a distinguishment or distinguishment disting distinction there you go will I’m glad somebody went to school in here uh there needs to be a distinction between is comeback Player of the Year sucked last year and doesn’t

Suck now or came back from injury and played very well because I think there’s a blurred line between that Joe Flo falls under the sucked last year didn’t suck this year well but Baker though too Baker Baker sucked in Carolina sure he had his hand in the dirt as a scout team

Defensive end at one point that’s all I need to know is is this for who sucked last year and didn’t suck this year or someone that came back from injury and played very well that’s what I need to know well it’s the same thing for MVP is

It a quarterback only or is it an actual real I did think when Demar Hamlin well when the bills didn’t get that fake punt I was like well who ran that Demar oh they can cut him now oh I’ll beon he’ll probably he’ll probably get cut this

Offseason guesses on how many snaps dear Hamlin has played on defense this year 15 seven Kayla I’m gonna go 10 he has played 17 snaps on defense that is less than 5% of the Bill’s total defensive snaps needs to Joe Flo I agree he’s a walking Miracle I’m going to

Throw that out be an elite pick sure but we also honored him you know like the NFL honors last year the was all about Demar Hamlin and I’m not I’m not disparaging that at all I’m just saying he had his time in the sun we we’ve already honored the fact that he came

Back yeah the uh the predictions get spicier as you go through the end of this article so the next to last one is Chase young will reunite with Montes sweat in Chicago that’s SP but I haven’t even gotten to the spiciest one yet makes Kurt Cousins and

Bill bich win the NFC South with the Atlanta the last pred you put together no shut up you put together you put together a team of the Little Giants and you could win the NFC sou I’m done with it you could put permin in high school and freaking

Friday Night Lights Matt saris qb1 is winning the NFC South all right like just have some adults that you know their their helmet size and what kind of chin strap they want so this discount everything that Tampa did this year then okay and Bill’s going to win because

With what money they’ve I mean they got pending free agents if Kirk Cousins goes to Atlanta I petition we change his name to Dirk cousins let’s go I’m on that petition I’ll be the first to sign DK little DK coming up next headlines what do you need to know about the titans’s

Glad I loved it because he called me sir he called me ma’am and I was about to say don’t you call me ma’am you got to let him hey you got to let him say this long enough I understand as bad as these kids are it ain’t even about you and

This one bad as these kids saying it’s a difference when you live somewhere else and you have that told to you cuz you’re like I don’t like that but I’ve lived here for majority of 20 years when it’s combined with Alabama when I was a kid my dad used to have he

Was a landscaper so he had all kind of clients and uh I would always say yes ma’am oh you don’t have to call me ma’am and I said my dad always told me to call older women ma’am oh I didn’t understand I was why I’m like I wasn’t smart enough

To know I wasn’t smart enough to know you say that I’m just a boy I used to think 38 was old it’s young as heck man but you become 38 huh so you become 38 so you become 38 you’re like oh wow this ain’t that old I’m closer to 30 than I

Am 20 now good for you congratulations can you cut his mic off pleas let’s get rid of this get rid of this dude man done with this I’ve been out of college longer than I was in college 615 737 1045 is our number Wesley Woodyard coming up in 15 minutes Jag killer

Lumberjack as well it’s funny when I when I have when I have former football players or current football players on I always make sure I hit them with the pre text like hey you’re going to get a call from a 629 number okay I again texting George earlier like

This morning like all right 629 numbers calling you in five minutes and go I promise you it a connect a lot of dots we’re very prompt people for the most part athletes can be but if there is a number I don’t know know I’m not picking

It up like I’m going to answer it if you tell me you just got to allow me to know that something’s going to happen then I’m I’m ready for it but I got to get used to 629 being the new area code for new numbers yeah the Steelers have

Probably been calling Ramon and he just never even picked up they’re like man year 12 year 12 starts now he’s like I don’t know this number John Robinson was like Ramon I needed you to play left tackle for us his problem was he thought

I was far too slow and I was out here bodying people that’s what you had a nose bleed yeah that’s what I’m saying but look at the resume bodying folks okay five too slow he drafted Isaiah Wilson he was a fast one fast one to exit the NFL fast career fast cars fast

Career everything fast should have slowed down that was the thing slow down a little bit let me see how I’mma block this TT right here it’s all good I ain’t bragging no more I’m done Austin price of all Quest at 845 Rett Brian at 9:00 and Titans president and CEO Burke Nill at

9:30 what is your number one thing you want to learn from Burke Nill this morning 65737 1045 and in the f&n bank chat on 1045 The Zone TV where you can watch the show and subscribe on Facebook live YouTube Twitter or twitch twitch please wait he

Shut off your mic I think the red light went off at 8:00 the red light doesn’t have to go off for it to not go over the ear who T you there are ways to keep the red light on and not have you be heard J schaer taught me this oh JT okay

J the names get Weir and Weir I thought it was jir Jima why did that crack me oh my gosh I want to call him josena schaer josena oh always get always with the good Jo schaer telling you how much money uh Ben Johnson wanted from the Titans so I didn’t take an

Interview is he going to get hired speaking of which we’re talking about LeBron Callahan real quick is Ben Johnson going to get highed somewhere Washington Washington yep where’s slow it going I think so nowhere I think he’s back at Texas with I think it was her or

Bust would it surprise you guys if maybe the Panthers feel like they are getting in a year early where other people who maybe hire coaching options would say I don’t really want to go with that I don’t want to go with an owner who has that many hands in the in the operation

And slow it could slide in there I think it looks like Canales is leader down there somebody knows him very intimately has been informing me on that one that one’s very interesting right there I I just don’t know if I don’t know if sloak is m i don’t know if he’s mature enough

In the NFL business to be a head coach like a leader right now and handle Carolina you got to think not just the football like they’ve got they got a rehab themselves in Carolina Bert for a resident of the Carolinas they’ve pulled out of businesses there they fired a lot

Of people in the operation of it and it’s it’s gone from somewhat of a good organization to a poor operated one as of late have you seen Canales like this man is jacked I think he could just beat teer up if he gets any backlash from

Tepper he just goes and boom Kayla you know one way to win a war with a lot of money okay and terer got a lot of money how you go war with him that’s true he can beat him up but he might not ever see daylight again uh Dave Canalis 42

Years old compared to Bobby slowick who is 36 yeah Canales who started his career as the receivers coach in Seattle in 2010 but Bobby slowick entered the league in 2011 he was just younger when he did but I I do agree with you though to

Be fair yeah I think just the I think SLO is a brilliant mind I just think the the I guess the leading a whole team like just one more year and and gaining that would be really beneficial Especial from especially from Deo yeah uh and I’m

I wouldn’t even I wouldn’t be in a hurry to leave Houston that’s a good point you you got a quarterback that’s looking to be that type of guy you got an offensive line that’s mostly set you got weapons that you help birth their care Nico Collins

Becoming a guy right you know what I’m saying and then you got a defense that’s young and grenard and I mean I wouldn’t be in a hurry if it wasn’t the job that I absolutely wanted it’s uh one thing that we have to do before Wesley Woodyard comes on while

I see SEC network star Ron slay has entered the f&n bank chat so if you want to talk to slay you can go to YouTube youtube.com/ 1045thezone TV and Ron slay is there uh Ron slay has been telling people on SEC network on this program on

3hl weekdays from 3: to 6 on 1045 The Zone that trips to South Carolina are gonna be tough sou South Carolina taught Kentucky some lessons last night and Dane Bradshaw said it at the end of the broadcast and I think it’s a good point that the narrative around that will be

What’s wrong with Kentucky and the conversation probably should be what is right with Lamont Paris the former Chattanooga coach in South Carolina the team that was picked 14th in the SEC by the media and they are playing good ball I’ve seen their last two games the last one against Arkansas on Saturday and

This one last night against Kentucky I Kentucky um one they they outplayed Kentucky they beat them down they beat him in a post they beat him on the perimeter they ran up and down the court better held him to 62 points beat him by what 17 79 to 62 that they are when

Tennessee plays South Carolina that is going to be a rock fight it’s yeah defensively and not just that man I’m I’m I hate that you guys missed my tweet last night man I was saying to myself there’s a bunch of B fans right now that

Are gonna be upset that K Kentucky L my gosh oh no no Yankee spring training starts in a month pitchers and catchers report in two weeks that’s my one and the Yankees are are here man that’s my one for the week I can’t West about not losing or recruiting he’s coming down

With the hammer I got to Kayla Aaron Boone is still in charge of the Yankees that’s CRA disgusting a lot of upset B fans last night coming up former Titans linebacker Kentucky Wildcat and a man who shared a locker room and an organization with Brian Callahan for Four Seasons in Denver Wesley Woodyard

Coming up he can speak to what the Titans are getting and new head coach Brian Callahan he can also talk about whether or not the Titans locker room was split between vable guys and non vrael guys interesting discussion with former Titans linebacker Wesley Woodyard coming up next

Kayla how’s y’ how is everybody doing what’s up Jack killer we are loving life hey man don’t come in here with all this giggling and stuff man like w don’t come on here with all anytime you do this I want to act a fool with you come

On man you Hey listen you know y’all got me on here for the ratings let’s go what’s up glad glad to hear that evil laugh back in in the fold man okay glad to hear it back okay radio is being turned up around the Midstate area and Beyond

Get get them things down here well Wesley it’s a good time to catch up with you considering uh you were in Denver when Brian Callahan was in Denver of course the reported head coach the Tennessee Titans and obviously can speak to just the culture in this locker room

And and maybe things Brian Callahan can learn from what didn’t work for Mike Vel in his time here as the head coach of the Tennessee Titans but first just from your experience with Brian what are the Titans getting in him and and what impresses you the most about him and his

Resume well you know I remember I remember Brian back in the day uh you know he he was in a quality control coach coaching assistant but what that tells me is he just like everybody he started from the bottom to to you know earn his weight and came and made some

Good things happen I can’t say we I don’t have anything bad to say about the man like I love them as a as a coach when he was in Denver of course we didn’t really have that much interaction him being on the offense but he was

Always one of the coaches that held up the Scout card for the defense so that’s kind of like a special bond between the scout team defenses and the coach that’s holding up the card because that’s a LoveHate relationship but man he was a cool person to be around and uh when I

Used to be uh up in Cincinnati checking on the bingles again ran up to me what’s up Wes man how you doing uh good to see you again I’m glad everything’s okay okay so a pretty personable guy man and I think that’s why you see him uh shine

In the interview process and land the head coaching job Wes on the other side of it him getting high here means obviously somebody was fired man it was a coach you ended up playing for also in coach Rael somewhat shocked a lot of folks by getting to this point man I

Gotta ask you about some of the highs of this this that era that you guys had that 2019 run and just all the guys that you were pushing out during that AFC Championship run man you guys had a lot of chemistry a lot of dudes in that room

Man how was it in the building in that era West man it’s fun it’s funny that you say that you you right we did have a lot of chemistry in that room and for the first time you know it was kind of feeling like man we got this thing

Together as a whole group uh defense was clicking we had great secondary leadership KB uh Logan adori God stepping up uh front is me r you know rack wasn’t there at the time but me Casey decoin guys just stepping up guys feeling good wanting to play for each

Other and uh you know some somehow man we used to walk around that building and be like dude we got we got to be careful we were in this Super Bowl this could make this could make a certain individual really peak in and and we

Might not like that so it was uh it was kind of conflicting views and feelings of do we want to win a championship with this man and and he turns worse than what he is so you you you guys ask what can Brian learn from Braes and I think ER just be

Yourself there’s there know that there’s a series of events that can make a coach lose a team it’s not just one instance uh there’s several different things and and I think you look at guys like a coach tumlin who remains steady Remains the Same in the good times the bad times

He’s still the same guy and I think that’s what’s going to pull you know Brian up to the ranks of being like hey this is my team I want my players to to go out there kick tail but I can’t win no games if my players are not winning

The games for me and the only way a head coach can do that is if their players know like listen we win the games no coaches out there on the field playing the game and I think that was kind of one of the disconnects with rves it

Almost felt like to the players in the locker room and again this is me doing research me being me being around me talking to the guys it often felt like times like Vel was the one that was winning the games and it should never be

That way I can’t let you off the hook with that comment right there man because you’re talking about the Pinnacle of all sports to me the Super Bowl and you guys having a players conversation text thread break room conversations about the how and what

Will happen if you do win it so I gotta ask you this was it more about the identity of the coach is what you’re saying so the the the tone has changed Here and Now we’re speaking about collaborations teamwork them building out Forward Thinking what you what you essentially said is it wasn’t

Essentially that it was about me yeah is that what you’re saying that that’s exactly what the vibe was I’ll give you an example of of what was going on uh that week leading up to that game coach peas comes in the room and uh him and

Rael had kind of a little a little back and forth I want to say heated but they they had a little back and forth whatever and he walks in sits down on the desk like all D coordinators started meeting off but before it was it was a

Different vibe it was almost like o fellas I am and Coach P is a Christian man God man and he was like fellas I just want to apologize that you know I show some characteristics of me being unprofessional and we was like no coach like you our de coordinator like we rock

With you like we love you we know what kind of man you are and then boom right in the middle of an apology Braves walk in give me the clip let me talk let me this is what we’re going to do this is what we’re going to do and so now you go

From you just interrupted a pure bonding moment with one of the greatest defensive coordinators in the history of the game and you want to do this we we already know like listen you can’t put certain players in certain positions I give you another example love Malcolm

Butler to death but we want to play cover four versus one of the greatest quarterbacks not at the time soon to be and cover four is a thinking coverage Malcolm is a reactor locked you down and now you’re forcing us to do this and like that’s not our that’s not our

Strength right now so it was just a series of crazy things that happened that made us be like man this is scary Wesley Woodyard former Titans linebacker joining us now on Ramone Kayla and Will was it something too and I’m just trying to now pick the brain of some of these

Players that that left and we’ve seen like a David long Jr and you know he he was obviously kind of pushed out and he’s had success in Miami uh even you know some of the guys up in Detroit uh is there something with maybe players here that couldn’t even work with that

Like you were able to work with that but some players maybe just not able to work with that and go find success somewhere else because that’s the reason uh barely I was able to work with it but I made it happen no I that’s a great Point all the players who left and

And were successful nothing changed in their game they were the same people here it was just like what what are you going to use you you ship off for example you ship off all of the linebackers and keep David long and you then that basically says that you don’t

Believe in David long when you don’t bring him back that’s kind of hurtful to not only David but to the guys in the locker room now what does that say to the young upand coming linebackers to a guy who’s done it the right way all the time who’s been there who’s tried his

Best to to be a leader to be a great linebacker and then when his when his contract comes up you treat him just like he the average p on like he he didn’t earn his stripes so now that could be looked at as like man like you

Just think that we plug and play guys like you think you can win with anybody so that’s where you lose the sense of the locker room too it’s like oh you think you could just put anybody in here and and they can just play this position because you’re the greatest coach it

Doesn’t always work like that when it comes to this team like moving forward and now that everything’s kind of fresh I mean you’ve got a new GM with the new head coach Wes I barely even recognize some of the players in this locker room anymore cuz really the leader is Jeffrey

Simmons uh what’s like the biggest challenge do you think with all this newness in this first season with with a new head coach um well I I want to go back to to ra actually I could just say this now if I had to before I answer that question

Yeah if I had to if I had to grade rael’s uh time here in Tennessee I’ll be honest I get I get a man a and even though the outcomes and everything that happened he he kept the thing rolling he did do a great job in that aspect he

Just lost the sense of the player coach relationship and and that was something that was that that was very detrimental to the success in his in Tennessee but to go back to where you are now now I want to follow up with that so does he deserve does he deserve a job somewhere

Else can he be a head coach and be successful somewhere else oh would 100% % you know and if and if I’m telling rers I’m sitting down with ra I would tell him like listen you can’t do certain things like like this for example you you you take out all of the

Kids in the locker room and tell us that hey we’re not allowing no more kids in the locker room after the games like I grew up dreaming about that like MCM I’m pretty sure you did the same thing too man like I that’s something that all that’s something that all athletes grew

Up we grew up watching MJ bringing his boys in the locker room that was a special moment but you kick out everybody’s kids and then now your kids are the only one that come around ah I can’t deal with that I can’t take

That so my son my son is is is your son is bigger than everybody else’s kid so that was another thing so I say it’s a series of small events that Vel just have to remember yep like man you can’t you can’t do that like we we give all of

Our time to you and in the building some people watch a lot of film some people put hours into this at the building don’t leave until to it’s late night but now we can’t bring our families around to to see what their dad and go their dad lives and what their dad goes

Through on a daily basis so that was kind of hurtful to a lot of players in the locker room because at that time all of us it’s it’s a weird thing when I first got to Tennessee nobody was married nobody had kids we all grew together as a family me me Casey rack

Morg y uh uh Logan everybody Big Ben everybody was having babies everybody was getting married together so it was almost like it was a family event and that was one thing where we really rocked with Malarkey a lot as the players in the locker room because Malarkey was that Underdog mentality and

You look at you turn on the TV like Dam how the hell did he get get the job well look at how the players are responded to him that’s why he got the job so it it was just so many things that that turned us sideways and and and once you really

Do that that it’s hard coming back so in a way you took you know in a way Vel got you guys from Malarkey and I was here when Malarkey was here um and he’s he was great I I loved Malarkey do you feel like that was kind of in a way a gift

That he was given a group that was so together and the culture was so established already heck yeah so so there’s a there’s a difference if I give you example if Rael if Rael is coming into this locker room now I think the approach that he took would be would

Would be amazing because there are no established vets there are no guys that have earned anything and I go back to the first meeting that Vel has and he he comes in talking about a few things on his agenda one he puts up a highlight film on Malarkey’s U Palms up syndrome

And that’s like Hey we’re not blaming anybody he goes on and says hey uh I want to get rid of this sense of entitlement around this place and we looking around like uh I’m sorry uh really the only people in here who have a sense of entitlement that that that I

I take I’ll take that back that could have a sense of entitlement would be your Delaney your Casey and your rack po so everybody I mean myself included I’m an old vet Logan like but these are guys who have earned their strip so it was almost like damn are you attacking the

The veterans like we were here we were here when it was oh the Titans lose again we struggled we fought through that together the Titans lose again no we got it to the Titans win the Titans beat this team the Titans do that so you come in and saying take away the sense

Of entitlement that undermines and discredits all of the hard work that anybody put into this place and that was hurt from from day one and and I don’t think a lot of people got over that because we always remember that and be careful what you talk about because you

Turn into that same person as you see his facial expressions on the sideline or somewh Palms up syndrome so just be careful Wesley Woodyard former Titans linebacker Our Guest Wesley what is your first impression of Rand carthon as he leads the Titans into this next phase of

Brian Callahan Amy Adam drunk Burke Nill and the Titans organization moving forward and changing the structure with which this team is going to operate what do you like about him and what’s kind of your interaction been with him if any so far man i r Ry gets it you know from the

First time I sat down in his office I was like man um I want to do anything ran to to help this team be successful and help help you be he said no stop there he said that’s what I want to get away from he was like this is your team

The the guys that play here this is their team this ain’t this ain’t this ain’t my team like I want you guys to come back and help me turn this thing around and I need you guys and I’m like damn like that’s some real stuff like

That for a man that comes into to the building and and understands that the history that’s been put in this building is the guys that played here ran is a man that that believes and having that line of communication with his players and I can see that on the sideline too

When I go to practice and check out practice he’s talking to the undrafted guys he’s talking to the big dogs and and I think that relationship that you can that you have with your players it shows them that man he trust in me he

Believes in me and I got to go out there and I’m gonna play hard for him and that’s what you looking for inside of any building not somebody that’s going to take away so so I I I challenge Brian and I challenge everybody in that building to continue to work together

Because right now we’re in a situation where we don’t have many guys that have proven themselves in the locker room we have a young team we have a team that’s been injured so it’s it’s not going to take just one person it’s gonna take a full boatload of people to get this

Thing turned back around really interesting stuff with former Titan Wesley Woodyard uh and Wes we wish we could we could probably go an hour just for I got one more for you is this you bring up a point as far as that not entitlement but guys that have earned it

Um what you basically said is you guys had already set the culture the locker room how you operate and I’m of the old mindset and I’ve been told and is held true too West the players will always Outlast to coach especially when you got good ones and when a coach to your point

Comes in and tries to take the legs out the way you see somewhat described it make it their own you lose those players you lose your identity and to your point rael’s not a bad coach it’s just the methods a bad coach and how you operate with professional athletes Wes you guys

Noticed that is what you’re saying man 100% dude like it it goes to the point of this right here too where you really lose a locker room Mo moan imagine if I’m your coach we the same age I played in this game you playing in this game and I and I

Don’t act like what it means to get an extra hour off on the Friday I act like I act like I don’t know what it mean to sleep in a little bit longer when the season ends like little things like that cannot be cannot be overlooked like bro

You used to play this game don’t be having us here from 6: in the morning to 7 at night every week like like like think about the player stuff don’t be dogging the players all the time like that’s the thing that we were like dude you went through the same struggles that

We went through and now you’re acting like you you just because you’re a coach you you didn’t experience that bro you you were in New England y’all mugs lived it up y’all had some amazing times so bring that energy in there don’t suck it

Out bring it in there like like he he he did have some good cool relationships with your W with with some guys on the team but as a overall like man you don’t think being a linebacker that I and this is me like me being a linebacker and my

Head coaches a linebacker dude we gonna eat that up as linebackers it was never that way in our linebacker room it was more of oh man the principal in here what we do and and at that time that was you know trying to get ran right trying

To get trying to you know get Jon right and Kayla I want to go back to a question that you brought up about um adori how those guys are having success and here’s something too that I think that that Vel should check itself just because a guy doesn’t fit your mode

Y your mode of of what you feel like a football player should be but they go out there they get the job done they don’t call you any problems in the locker room they on a household they’re making big plays just because they don’t look like you just because they don’t

Tackle the way you don’t want to doesn’t mean that they’re not a good football player it’s just not what you’re looking for but you got to think do I sacrifice something that I don’t want that I don’t want or do I keep something that’s getting the job done and that’s

Excelling at it and that’s a that’s a challenge for not only Rael for all these coaches like hey man the NFL stands for not for long but you going to live by and die by your players in that locker room no matter what can you just

Join the staff thanks Wes we’re just us on the show this great stuff from Wesley Woodyard former Titans linebacker Wes again man wish we had more time with you but uh let’s do it again soon great stuff yeah we will y’all take care of Nashville I love y’all man Mo I can’t

Wait to see the kids ball out too bro I know they going to Kentucky there it is he knew we didn’t have any time left and that you didn’t have time to respond that’s a pro move love you my dude stay safe Wes we’ll link up soon all right there he is Wesley

Rolling R along On rkw brw Up by aan roast Big Show with Titans president Burke Nill scheduled to join us in just about a half hour 9:30 is when he will stop by but right now we shift back to V’s conversation you just heard George McIntyre on the show at 7:20 this

Morning we bring in Austin price of volquest.com right now to talk about what the balls are getting in their new five-star quarterback what’s up Austin how are you I’m doing great how are you all good we are good it has been a wild week in Nashville but certainly wanted

To get your perspective Ive and have the recruiting conversation as we always do every week a little bit of Hoops as well going on Austin for people who have not seen George McIntyre play what are the BS getting in him how significant was his commitment on Monday a super

Competitive guy a guy that uh you know can literally make all the throws um can throw from different arm angles um I think the you know one of the biggest compliments you can give George is just kind of he’s never too high never too low and you know when things break down

Around him I think that’s probably when he’s at his best um so you know a kid that I think is still scratching the surface of how good he can be he knows he’s got to put on weight that’ll be a big uh you know I think um a big

Priority for him over the next several months and uh they’ll start feeding him those peanut butter milkshakes and seeing if he can throw him some pounds no doubt as strong if it was if it was simple I would give him some cuz I need to lose some and he needs to gain some

If it was just as simple I’d just go here here take some if it could be so simple Austin man uh one thing he was he talked about with us earlier was the idea of him recruiting and he started also in the state too how big is it for him a fstar that’s

Committed to Tennessee to try to get some of those other High guys in this state to commit also well George is one that kids gravitate towards um you know so I mean it is important and uh he he wants to be an active recruiter he’s talking to all the different position

Coaches he’s talking to Kelsey Pope okay what receivers do want he’s talking to Glenn Elder all right what offensive lineman do we want he’s talking to you know all of the you know the coach Hy he’s talking to all the assistant coaches even if it’s not offensive guys

If it’s defensive guys he wants to he wants to put as much talent in his class as he can and you know everybody says well you know Nico didn’t have that kind of impact and you know in a way Nico didn’t but Nico also lived in California

So like as far as his knowledge of people inside the Tennessee footprint he could make a call but kids really didn’t know him like whereas like Georgia’s met a lot of these kids inside the Tennessee footprint from Georgia and Florida and Alabama and Mississippi and North Carolina on visits to other schools at

Seven on seven events and so you know I think it probably becomes a little easier even though you know Nico and George personality wise are pretty similar um I just think this the the the time that he spent around some of these players um on the recruiting circuit probably gives him

You know a little bit more of an inside track on some of that what when you also look at he his recruiting and getting him to commit so soon he he didn’t even mention recruiting with Hyper he said a relationship do do you know what that looked like between those two guys yeah

Very again two guys with similar personality and and he admitted that he’s like you know we are very similar like super competitive really laidback and chill um and they just hung out like I mean you know Josh like when when George would go to Alabama like okay you

Have 20 minutes with Coach Sav from 9: to 9:20 and that was the 20 minutes he got there was no designated time like hypo would go and hang out at at the hotel with George when he was here for visits he would go and you know just

Just spend time with him right like he would just just just hang out um just like you know like a big brother would or you know your uncle you hadn’t seen in a while like I mean he he just you know kind of built a relationship with

Him and they became more than just player coach or coach recruit um you know it was a little bit more than that so you know that’s where he kind of won you know George over and at the end of the day George knew Nick wasn’t going to be there forever at

Alabama uh you know LSU’s offensive coordinator that he really liked wasn’t going to be there forever and he knew no matter what happened with Joey hallsley that Josh hyp was the offense and the the offensive you know shot caller was always going to be Josh hyp at Tennessee

So um that that all played into the decision for George not to mention you he grew up around on a family full of Tennessee fans Austin price of all Quest joining us on RK dub and and this is now the start of it looks like you know Josh

Hyp being a place where quarterbacks really want to possibly go to right Kayla if you’re a quarterback it’s going to be natural to jive with Josh hyp because he’s played the position at a high level he can speak the lingo he does a really good job uh with from an offensive standpoint

Of you know putting his quarterback’s in a position to succeed and so yeah I mean there’s no doubt about it and let’s face it I mean you saw what Hendon hooker did you know got drafted third round after the ACL tear if Nico is who everybody expects him to be right

And in two years time he is getting drafted in the first round and George and merkling are right after him coming up you’re going to see that player in the 27 class gosh I’m dating most help when you start talking about 2027 that player in the 27 class go hm

Look at this all of a sudden it’s you know it’s more than you know I mean Heights got had Sam Bradford who played for a stretch in the NFL Drew lock who’s still in the NFL Dylan Gabriel who you know was now at Oregon after a stand at

Oklahoma once he left UCF so I mean like he’s having more and more success and the more success he has the easier it becomes for quarterbacks to go I just want to go there they make it easy they put their quarterbacks in position to win and they get drafted high ausome

Price saal quest with us quick visit with Austin today with so much going on in the world of the Tennessee Titans and Titans president Burke Nill coming up in 30 minutes Austin wanted to ask real quick though on the way out Tennessee with a bit of a bad taste in its mouth

The last time it played Memorial Gym and an off week coming at a good time this weekend how just advantageous does this schedule kind of work out for Tennessee right now um to go into a very difficult part of the schedule in Vanderbilt and Kentucky uh and all these big games

Coming up in an off week here in the midweek I I think it was perfect I you know I talked to Santiago vesy and Jami mhak last night and they both said you know like we would have been fine playing midweek but it kind it does come

In a good time like you know you know just because we’ been kind of ripping and running and and you know it it kind of fits into the schedule nicely so you know they’ve had a nice relaxing week today’s an off day for them before they return to the practice floor the next

Couple of days and get ready for that game Saturday in Nashville so um they you know they would have been fine playing a Tuesday or Wednesday game but they were uh you know as a couple of veterans they were night they were they were pleased to have that day off and

That that kind of that stretch here where they can kind of just relax and practice and and get healthy and get ready for a much tougher stretch uh after this Vanderbilt in South Carolina game on Saturday on on Saturday and Tuesday love it quick visit with Austin

Price this morning we get back to our full regularly scheduled programming with Austin next week uh Austin thank you for the time we appreciate it appreciate you guys thank Youk you yes sir there’s Austin Price coming up Rhett briyan at Titans radio and Burke Nill Titans president at 9:30 hour for next

903 good morning from the 1045 The Zone Studios I’m Robert Walsh a lot of people getting jobs around the league but we’ll start in Los Angeles where Jim Harbaugh reportedly has an extremely strong offer on the table and the discussions have now shifted to how he will fill out his

Staff with the Chargers per Mike aolo to Vegas where the Raiders have hired their new general manager Tom Tesco staying in the AFC West after being the general manager of the Chargers for the last 11 years but stay where you’re at 9:30 Titans president and CEO Burke Nill will

Be in studio with rkw but right now we got red Brian so let’s get to it for all your foundation repair and waterproofing needs visit usn.org breaking news at once on your home for the Titans and the BS this is 1045 The Zone all right let’s do one more hour on a

Big show on a big Wednesday in Nashville Tennessee we are Ramone Kayla and will the show is rkw and we are brewed up by Athan Roose we always say that the show gets better in the fourth quarter that’s particularly hard today I’m not going to pull something by patting myself and

Ourselves on the back but it’s been a pretty good show George McIntyre Wesley Woodyard Austin price and right now Rhett Brian the executive producer of Titans radio in studio with us with just a little bit to talk about Rhett good morning I’m actually the point where the

Show dips a little bit it’ll pick back up at 930 hey how do I follow up Wesley Woodyard and George McIntyre I mean vs fans are happy T Titans Titans are you know Titans fans are going whoa Wesley Woodyard laying laying the wood out again here yeah The Lumberjack delivers

But um but yeah I’m glad to be here on a rainy Wednesday morning but it’s sunny and 70 in here yes it is it is and coming up in 25 minutes the president and CEO of the Tennessee Titans Burk Nill will join us all right just a

Little bit to talk about with him as well just a sco just a little bit R Brian Callahan reported the other night as the head coach we’ve had 24 hours to dissect this and chew on it a little bit what do you like the most about him well

You go back and and I know you guys have seen the article that Dan Pompei retweeted yesterday of the athletic where he did a a a lengthy piece on Brian Callahan prior to the start of the 2023 season and I found it so intriguing from all of the places and the people

That he gathered information about um from pton Manning to Rand Cunningham to I mean you just go through the list and so I felt like I understood what the Titans are getting a little better um um I mean clearly with a body of work in Cincinnati with with everything that’s

Going on with them and how bad they were before they picked up Joe burrow and Jamar Chase and you know so on and so on you knew the guy had a good and offensive mind and and you know as soon as Mike Vel was let go I thought well

Okay there’s probably a good chance they’re going to go with a young offensive mind in this and S sure enough that seems to be what Amy Adam Strunk has uh gotten in change of philosophy so I like what the offense may look like I like what this will do for will Levis

And let’s go a step further and say or for whoever else is there because I believe they think will Levis has the skill set but I you know they haven’t said he is the end all Beall franchise quarterback and so things are open for discussion like most everything else is

With the Titans right now but those are the couple of things U initi and then the other thing that I really started thinking about covering the team for a quarter of a century is the offense is turning the page this is The Changing of the Guard this is where the Titans offense moves

Into a more modern offense in in other words the Bellows that the franchise has had in Titans history I don’t know that that’s a thing as much anymore they’ll have great running backs Taj Spears is proving himself already but I I think the Derek Henry’s and the Eddie georgees

And the Chris Johnson’s and three yards in the cloud of dust uh are now in the past I do believe that and that’s not a knock on those guys done at all not at all no Noone I’ll interrupt real quick there was a moment in time even when I

First started covering the NFL where if you were running the ball by committee you were kind of looked at like bless their hearts they’re running they got three running backs over there we’ve got X we’ve got so and so you know he’s a he’s a stud Bell cow back that gets us

30 carries it’s completely the opposite now it is and and that’s what I was where we’re getting to is just that the idea that the offense is going to be that it’s going to be multifaceted is what you what you hope for and right here’s the other portion of it too this

May be a buildup over time to expect the coach to come in and make your Super Bowl winning Co team in one year is not the realistic approach no to these changes correct no no and I I think that’s a very important Point Ramone because just because of the of the hire

Of Brian Callahan which I I hope we’ll have some news at some point today hopefully before lunch we’ll see what happens um but it that doesn’t mean that you know everything’s well and it’s going to equate to x amount of extra wins over what they had in 2023 and it’s

Going to take a little time but this is one of those steps that they or or should I say ownership with Amy Adam Strunk decided we need to be going a different direction so that we can move forward and you know you think about her release a press release after the the

Firing of Mike Vel where she talked about sustainability in the modern NFL and she talked about offense you know there’s lots of tones of what we’re talking about right now when it comes to these next couple of months because it’s going to be crazy I mean you’ve got

Senior bow you’ve got combine you’ve got draft you’ve got free agency what’s what’s got to be the first priority you feel like for a guy like Brian Callahan who’s coming into just everything kind of new sure and for us good Lord I mean it was going to be a wild and Willy

Offseason anyway and then it started with Mike vel’s releas I’m like whoa hold on a second this just went up to a whatever uh a serious level of uh of anticipation and and coverage but um you’re right uh there’s a lot of moving parts to this as the free agency window

Is ramping up I think that’s March 13th and then OB obviously all the pre-draft stuff and the draft I think for the first thing for for Brian Callahan in the obvious part of it would be uh acquiring and putting together his coaching staff uh I’m very interested to

See who he has as defensive coordinator is an older seasoned veteran kind of guy that some of the names that we’ve seen thrown out there like a wink Martin Dale um you know who’s his offensive coordinator because it’s people are talking about him going to be the one

That calls the plays and you know who’s the Special Teams part of it I mean there’s a lot of layers to this but I think that’s where it starts and then uh you know if he’s in the building and and going at some point uh this week then I would anticipate he

Would be mobile next week to start looking at uh prospects with Rand carthon because Rand carthon talked about it the other day in the Press availability with the collaboration part of it and what do I need to help you get over the top what players are we looking

At coming up next with Rhett briyan let’s talk about a potential new vision for the Tennessee Titans and we’ve spoken about whenever this hire becomes official whenever that is today or tomorrow or whenever it is what a vision could look like and Rand carthon tells us that will be revealed when the hire

Is revealed uh we’ll talk about that a little bit coming up next Rett briyan in studio titans’s president Burke Nill coming up at 9:30 Lots still to come on rkw brw up by anthan roast it’s Ramon Foster for Hiller Plumbing Heating coolant and electrical man uh Hiller’s one of those places that I

Trust I just need you guys to know that man if you if you need anything done with your house whether it be Plumbing Heating Cooling or electrical simply go to happy hill.com I’m not even going to give you a number because I know most most of y’all got your phones anyway

Happy hill.com and one of the reasons I trust and like using them is they do good work but also true transparency pricing man here’s what that mean Hiller would line item every part of the job up front for you so homeowners can easily understand what they’re paying for and

Why for example itemizing the the parts and the labor separately there will be no hidden fees no added costs no surprises when you get your bill you don’t have to whatever they have to fix they will tell you if there nothing that needs to be fixed they will also let you

Know that too if you need anything done whether that be Plumbing the heating and cooling because of the cold weather that we had or electrical reach out to the folks that I trust and that’s Happy hill.com Wednesday morning continues on rkw brw up by anthan roast and coming up in 10

Minutes Tennessee Titans president and CEO Burke Nill will join us it’s been a big week and two weeks of breaking news how about a little bit more for you let’s do it Robert Walsh breaking sports news on 1045 The Zone it is a officially official the next head coach of the Tennessee Titans

Is Brian Callahan and that is not all that is official in addition to naming Brian Callahan as the head coach of the Tennessee Titans the Titans have also finalized the team’s football structure Rand carthon has been promoted to Executive Vice President slen manager and Chad Brinker has been promoted to

President of football operations as Executive Vice President and general manager Rand carthon’s duties will expand to include all areas that impact the football team roster control team activities and Personnel decisions including draft and free agency Acquisitions oversight of Callahan and his coaching staff scouting sports medicine and player engagement Ramone

Foster Kayla Anderson Rett briyan will bowling and Studio lots to digest here friends but the hire is official and so are changes to the titans’s organizational structure so it’s a lengthy press release uh one of the longer ones I’ve ever seen but I think a

Lot of it has to do with the footnote here about the the structural changes at the top um first of all I’m glad that it’s official and now that we can officially say Brian Khan is the new newest head coach of the Tennessee Titans but I think it’s interesting hear

About the structure here because Chad Brinker came in as an assistant general manager I forget what his exact title is along with Anthony Robinson last year when Rand carthon was hired and they were brought in but this says that um Chad Brinker is has a new role as the

President of football operations so what I’m interested to hear Burke Nill when you ask him is how does this work is he over everything football and then what does that have to do with ran and how does this work and because it sounds like structurally here that Chad Brinker

Would report directly to Amy Adams Strunk we’ll see how that works I think the interesting thing at the bottom of the release here though is the quote from Amy Adam Strunk this is not my father’s NFL as our league continues to evolve in areas like analytics Sports Science and Technology football

Operations have become more complex and multifaceted I wanted our football operation to be at the Forefront of the NFL as teams continue to find new competitive advantages in this new role Chad will blend his executive experience with his strengths in football and scouting to ensure our football operation continues to innovate and grow

As new opportunities emerge Chad’s oversight of these areas will allow Rand to focus his full attention and energy on building and leading a championship football team end quote all right so there’s a kind of an idea of what that’s going to look like so with Chad being elevated to a new role

Of exe uh president of football operations so it does sound like he will report directly to Amy Adam Strunk and this will allow ran to be more boots on the ground because it looks like he has a lot more opportunities and responsibilities key being he is over

The 53 man roster and Chad’s previous role with this team he was with the team last year he’s in a per player Personnel section of this uh staff but he was assistant general manager and his main title was of strategy so that explains why he is Cap guy now and has these and

That’s the thing Ramon that’s a great point because if you go back and look at his bio when he was hired he was a cap guy he’s an analytics guy he is he’s really I think he spent 16 years with the Green Bay Packers very smart guy first of all a fantastic background

Story as a as a college football player and uh but loves the game and a very smart mind but but uh he brought a lot to the table when he came in from the Green Bay Packers so it’s not a complete surprise that this is you know a

Promotion and a new role for him um but yeah it sounds like he’s got a lot of stuff so on his PL this takes us back to where you couldn’t talk about Vision earlier when you got to Simply now they’ve designated people to their actual roles and what they’re going to

Be doing like in this in this release it has uh Chad Brinker man salary cap management analytics Information Systems they even got equipment and grounds you’re taking your football people and letting them do football things and you’re letting people who know how to operate the business do those things too

Separately that way it’s not too much on one’s person’s plate but yet they meet and Converse and conference about things as they go and I think Kayla had the most valid point earlier on this morning when you talked about everybody at the press in the Press Corp was so peeved at

The whole why aren’t you telling us the vision I think it’s because they couldn’t tell the vision cuz they wanted to wait and tell it to whoever their prospective head coach was going to be I think that was a valid point by you and I think that’s probably one of the main

Reasons why they didn’t divulge that to us at the time that Rand carthon had that press conference a few days ago so the hire is official Rand carthon now has full roster control in a promotion and what better person to speak to about this than the president and CEO of the

Tennessee Titans burck Nill who is in the building and is about to sit down with us Rhett thank you for the time I know a quick visit today it’s all good I’m not the headline here I am I have been buried in this and that is fine cuz

I can go back to doing uh prep work for Senior Bowl that’s coming up next week here we go and uh one note as well that is official within this release a press conference with Brian Callahan will be tomorrow at 1 pm at Ascension t St Thomas sports park there Thursday 1 p.m.

Uh a hire official in an introductory press conference time set fans again and listeners I know you guys want to react we’ve got 4 hours to do it tomorrow at 61573 7145 but coming up next to close out the show an in-depth conversation with Titans president and CEO Burke Neill who joins us

Foster and Kayla Anderson I’m will bowling Robert Walsh making the show happen and we are very pleased to be joined by Tennessee Titans president and CEO Burke Nill the hire is official and there is lots to break down Burke good morning always good to be here with you

Guys thank you thank you for coming in uh a lot to get to like I said but Burke I want to start with your new head coach and Brian Callahan a lot has been discussed from Rand carthon from Amy Adam drunk and from you about a new organizational structure of Tennessee

Titans football how does Brian Callahan fit as the leader on the field of this new vision you all have yeah Bri Callahan is the template just plain and simple uh we started off going into this search trying to be disciplined about creating a profile you know before you

Start putting names to it before you start doing the research on experience What specifically were we looking for and um it was character traits it was experience sets um it was it was League reputation League Network um and from the beginning Brian Callahan uh from the

Research was at the top of that list and as the interview process played out um you know I think we interviewed nine people and uh ton of impressive candidates in that mix but from the very beginning uh you know Brian started with a lead and ended with a lead he just was

Exactly what we were looking for to partner with Rand carthon to build a consistent Championship Contender within this press release that came out about 20 minutes ago there are new roles for Rand carthon and for Chad Brinker and ran promoted to Executive Vice President and general manager uh Chad binker

Promoted to president of football operations tell us more if you will about the breakdown of responsibilities for those two and just what is changing within the front office yeah I look I think we’d acknowledge there was a bit of lack of clarity last year and uh that just wasn’t acceptable moving forward

There needed to be uh stability there needed to be Clarity around uh who was doing what in the building you know structure at the end of the day isn’t what’s going to create a line and collaboration some of those buzzwords you hear out there it it’s the people

But at the same time the structure needs to be clear and uh so we’ve arrived at at at a clear structure and a way forward that we believe is going to build a championship program uh ran carthon uh was the template last year in terms of a general manager uh that that

Amy was looking for to take our organization uh into a different generation of the NFL um his experience his skill set his network uh was exactly what she was was looking for and there’s a palpable sense of excitement uh letting ran do more uh he’s he’s earned

It uh he last year did did a great job uh in the role that we were asking him to do uh building a roster uh in a shared experience with the head coach um and but we think that he’s got just a lot more to offer in terms of building

An entire program uh to to building a team to developing a team uh to Leading a team uh that includes full roster control includes oversight of the head coach and and just just going after and getting it uh on the grass uh building a great championship team you guys didn’t

Use a search firm this time around to find a head coach how did you get to Brian Callahan and make that decision that he was your guy because this is inh housee the way you went about it yeah look Rand carthon Chad Brinker Anthony Robinson they were the search firm uh

These guys have Decades of experience across the NFL their networks are vast um the there’s obvious candidates out there there’s less than obvious candidates that are out there and we did not uh leave any stone unturned but at the end of the day um there wasn’t you

Know some sort of New York high-rise office that was going to be able to get the depth of information that Rand carthon can get about these candidates about who they are as people uh to be talking to players about what it is like to be coached by these coaches um and so

They they absolutely crushed it Rand in particular uh was was just it was a master class at identifying what we wanted staying disciplined to what we wanted and doing just deep deep research um and then at some point recruiting you know on on making sure that that our

Number one candidate felt like this was the place he wanted to be that’s a beautiful process and you know a lot was made about the you know letting go of coach varable and you know moving forward from there and um some people wanted the question answer answer as far

As vision and you know structure of this team moving forward um why was it hard to say in those moments like what a vision was what incomplete that the uh the setup of this team was at the moment I look I think a head coach vacancy you know you

Want to leave a little bit of room for a new head coach to help you know Define you know what they’re looking for right um at the end of the day let’s just be really honest these are these are Buzz words right um what is a vision in my

Mind a vision is a shared belief about where we’re going and how to get there plain and simple and uh there’s absolutely doubt no doubt in my mind that the entire organization but in particular ran carthon and Brian Callahan have a shared Vision about where we’re going and and how we’re

Going to get there uh we are going to be a football team that is is built for sustained Excellence uh you know consistent Championship contention and we’re going to do it together um it was remarkable in the interview process um again exhausting three four hour interviews in many cases across zoom

Over over two weeks um Brian was the last in-person interview uh it started off as a as an interview right people asking Brian questions Brian answering the questions uh at some point Amy Adam Strunk Kenneth Adams uh myself ran Chad Brinker Anthony Robinson are are in the room and uh at

Some point that interview changed from an interview to a workshop on how they were going to build this thing it just naturally evolved into it ran and and Brian uh went from ran asking questions Brian answering questions to them just riffing and getting excited and everyone was sitting up in their chair uh

Listening to them talk about for example you know we’re not looking for guys that are going to fall into a one two three receiver uh bucket we’re looking for what defines our perfect X receiver in this system what defines our perfect Z receiver in this system to the end inch

To the to the weight to the uh to the athleticism score uh when do you when do you take an exception and and how how does a coach need to buy into an exception and how many exceptions can you have on a team and these guys were

Just building a program to to end an interview uh we hadn’t extended an offer yet uh Brandon knows his job but it was it was the beginning of the next generation of Titans football that’s Vision right is them talking together about how we’re going to get where we

Need to go which is delivering to Nashville a championship caliber team consistently tit’s president uh Burke Nill kind enough to join us here on RK dub this morning when Amy Adam Strunk put out her statement this morning on the Brian Calahan hire I found it really

Interesting at the end and I love this uh when she said at each step of his career speaking of Brian Callahan he’s shown flexibility and intelligence to make an impact how crucial was it to get a guy that is not only going to do things as a leader and take control but

Also listen listen to his players listen to things that are coming from the outside it’s a two-way street type of thing I that that was one of the factors that had Brian standing out among other candidates from the beginning was his diversity of experience um you can have

Really good success in a specific situation um but our situation is not that situation right team to team uh we’ve got a totally different situation than where a coach would have come from if they’re having success Brian um the difference between coaching pton Manning and Matthew Stafford and Derek Carr and

Joe burrow those are totally different personalities and he’s had to adjust his coaching style to each one of them uh what works for pton Manning doesn’t work for Matthew Stafford doesn’t work for Derek Carr doesn’t work for Joe burrow but the combination of having to learn sometimes the hard way that that you

Have to adjust your coaching style and you take the principles that ultimately led to a success but you have to modify them to whoever it is that you’re coaching at that moment um he he among all of the other candidates had the right diverse experience to get ready

For this moment to be a head coach for the Tennessee Titans I also loved the statement by Amy Adam Strunk that said this is not my father’s NFL and she went on to say you know we’re advancing the NFL is New Age and there’s technology and science that goes into it can I

Elaborate on that yeah so I mean it’s not her father’s NFL I I would argue that it’s not Amy Adams strunk’s NFL from 2015 when she stepped into this role the evolution of this league is happening fast and furious and I think the four teams that you see in the

Championship uh games this weekend are ones that are at the tip of the Spear of how they’re using every competitive Advantage they can find across analytics and Sports Science and Technology and we’re on our way uh but we’re not where we want to go be yet in terms of all of

Those categories and the business has become just so much more complex than it was back in 197 1980 even even 2015 where there was just a traditional model you got a general manager you got a head coach P your years back and go get it um it’s it’s complicated there’s more

People uh there’s more processes there’s more systems and what Amy wanted to do was put ran carthon in a position to be the leader of the football team uh building a roster building a coaching staff uh building building the the team environment um but also recognized that

If he was also going to be uh worried about technology and grounds keeping and you know where where analytics are going and sports science are going that’s a distraction from the main thing right and so uh the the the structure that that she’s arrived at we believe is completely sustainable it’s clear and

Will allow us to to really fight the battle on both fronts right keeping the main thing the main thing letting Rand pin his ear back ears back and and just build a awesome sustainable football team uh while also being able to stay at the Forefront of you know not just where

The league is today but where is it going to be in 27 28 29 Titans president bur Nill Our Guest this morning on Ramone Kayla and will um the Chad Brinker part of this Burke you’ve mentioned a little bit in his promotion to president of football operations uh

What does that role look like for him is he under the authority of Rand carthon is that something that’s reporting to the owner kind of what’s the the detail on that yeah oh look anybody who’s in our building can tell you um whether you’re you start on a Monday as a ticket

Office employee or or whether you’re me um we all report into Amy on on some level and so that’s certainly true of of Chad and Chad’s responsibility is to be basically the umbrella for the football organization um in some ways there’s an acknowledgement that in my role especially over seeing a new stadium

Being developed and and as as our business gets more complicated in the dayto day um we needed somebody that could could be bringing it together uh across this increasingly complicated business of analy itics and sports science and the rest of it and Chad’s background is is really I mean he’s a

Unicorn that’s that’s how ran has referred to him um he’s a football guy throughing through uh he was uh he was an Ohio uh running back parent his dad was a coal miner uh went to Ohio University uh got a shot in the NFL as a

Running back um he’s a football guy and he went right into scouting with the Packers um but along the way uh he stopped and moonlighted and did a an MBA program at Northwestern and while he was there he’s he’s just got a very curious mind and he was meeting with uh some of

His fellow students and professors that were into software or in some cases there was a Navy SEAL for example he’s talked about and he’d be picking their brain about you know how could how could software development potentially be something you can bring back into the football environment to create a

Competitive Advantage what can you learn from a Navy SEAL about organizational leadership organizational cohesion and so he’s just a a perfect fit to to be bringing this whole thing together getting ran everything he needs to to go be the best general manager in football and build you know incredible teams

While also pulling all of these other pieces together he’s got the credibility and he’s grounded in football and then he also has this this business executive sense about him brck you guys under your leadership have had the motto of win serve entertain uh of Tennessee Titans football and it is entertaining to have

A great quarterback and score a lot of points at a brand new shiny stadium that is on the way of course as you guys spoke with candidate how important was offensive experience quarterback development Amy mentioned in her conversation with Mike Keith when this original process began we’ve got a

Promising Young quarterback and we want to surround him with the best resources possible how much did that factor into this process for you well I would say it’s entertaining to win absolutely first of all right and I think recognizing that we do have a promising Young quarterback regardless of whether

Somebody was was an offensive coach or a defensive coach they had to answer the question about how would they develop a quarterback and how would they provide a consistent environment for a quarterback so that uh so that will can continue to to get the the coaching he needs uh have

An offense that’s built to set him up for Success uh and continue to develop to what we believe and Brian Callahan believes is to be a top tier quarterback in the NFL Burke nah Willers uh president CEO Tennessee Titans Burk I have to ask this

Question to get us to where we are right now we’ll treat uh this process like a starfish they regenerate we don’t regenerate I don’t want to say cut off a limb okay but you had to cut off a couple pieces man to actually get to this point and that’s a hard decision

Let go of a coach that’s beloved in this area and has done some really good things here in Nashville um what was the room like for you guys when you have those conversations and decide we’re moving in this direction as Kayla said and you even said too about Miss Amy the

NFL that we knew even six seven years ago is not the same so how do you get to that point and I honestly probably have to have that pit in your stomach to make that final call yeah Amy has never backed down from having high expectations and um she’s also never

Backed down from hard decisions uh that are in the direction of those high expectations uh I was watching A Few Good Men with my boys this weekend introducing them to an all-time classic in my mind and uh I don’t mean to suggest that she’s you know ordering

Code Reds and covering up code Reds but I reminds me of of Colonel Nathan Jessup like you want her on that wall you need her on that wall to to set those high expectations and make those hard decisions even when they’re not easy even when they may not be popular and

She has proven that she’s ready to do that over and over again um and you know it’s small ways that that we in the building see that not everybody else sees um challenging people to to be better to do better and then in some cases it’s in in ways that play out in

The public that she she makes those High those those hard decisions and um I I know uh you know I work with her every day I appreciate her leadership I appreciate her high expectations um and you know we want her on that wall we need her on that wall and and because

She’s in the position that she is um we’re going to be having a parade or two in this city I believe that’s still and starting that parade too real quick is um this side of it for me the the the freedom that coach head coach Brian

Kahan has with the staff do you have I know that’s his answer probably a a timeline and which you guys want to kind of set his staff the uh ability for him to be able to pull and poach if needed from different rosters I know a lot of

People have brought up his father Bill Callahan has been a part of his team um those types of decisions how long do you think of a timeline oh I mean Randon Randon Brown are talking about it right there look they were talk that was that was one of the things they were talking

About interview right you can tell them starting to collaborate on this and and bring it together ultimately it’s ran style ran is not going to tell Brian Callahan you need to hire this guy you need to hire this guy but what Ran’s going to do is he’s going to help stress

Test Brian’s ideas um and ultimately help him in any way he can to deliver the best NFL staff I mean that was a that was a major differentiator between the candidates that came in was was their vision of how the staff would come together their thoughtfulness about who

They needed in what roles their experience set their um you know what they’ve done well and why he why he would believe that this would translate uh to to what we’ve got Happening Here in Nashville um and you know they’re getting after it right now so um it’s a

Process that takes some time certainly but uh I I think Brian’s going to build an incredible staff and ran is going to be there to support him in doing that I mean again back to his network uh if there’s a position coach that either uh is need some recruiting or there’s

There’s a gap in in Brian’s conviction about a position coach that he had in mind ran is the type of master networker and and understands the NFL so well he’d be able to deliver two or three other people that he believes would fit Brian’s Vision that Brian would be able

To interview and bring in for position but I know this for a fact at the end of the day while ran is overseeing the coaching staff his approach is you know he he’s going to just make sure that Brian it feels incredible about every coach that’s on his staff and for

Everybody who’s listening uh they’ll get their first chance to hear from Brian Callahan one o’clock tomorrow there we go one o’clock tomorrow he we can go on and on with you but it seems to me you guys have the way the structur has been set up in the press release too have

Kind of said football is its own side the front office is its own side and as a business we make this thing work together that that seems to be the reshaping that we’re witnessing right now in Nashville yeah that’s right It’s let’s let’s put strength on strength

Yeah right let’s let’s take the strength of of people across our building you know whether it’s Finance or marketing or uh you know a training staff or a general manager or a head coach or or somebody who’s focusing more on the analytics technology and everything else

Let’s let them do what they do and and let’s go get this thing together brke you guys have uh had a lot of details and new videos on a new stadium as well that have come out recently it is an exciting time to be at Ascension St

Thomas ports Park I’m sure and as that becomes more of a reality as well and we get closer and closer just how much positive energy you feel like is in that building right now it especially the last few days it it just it feels great

I mean it’s it’s felt great for a number of years but um as the football vision is just kind of slotting perfectly into to place with Brian and and and a structure that everyone believes is a sustainable long-term approach to to building a a championship program um you

Couple this with all these other things that have happened I mean it’s remarkable to look back to 2015 and think of the team that Amy Adams drunk stepped into and where we are today across the board there’s just excellence in every category because there’s people that are really talented that have

Wanted to bring their talents to Nashville to work for this organization and selflessly you know move this thing forward and and certainly Stadium plays a big part of that uh now now you know the football team being in in great shape to to move forward um we’ve

Referred to ourselves every once in a while as a 60-year-old startup we’ve got 60 years of experience we’re not starting in a garage we’ve got Traditions to lean on people to to lean on but also you know we’re not just going to do things the way everyone else

Did it like we’re going to challenge ourselves to to be better in everything that we do all the time and and be Innovative and uh I it is it is a great feeling in the building and I hate the cheat the station one more time but we

Talked before you came in the room I know uh we talked before you came in a room and I think we’re this fan base deserves and the organization does too a level of sustainability yep that’s what we’re looking for that’s the draft picks that’s the front office that’s the

Personnel that’s the coaches that’s everybody involved if you’re a Titan you’re going to be Titan for a while yeah I there’s a sign on our boardroom that says it all matters and it does everything everything matters in our organization uh to to getting this thing

Right and keeping it right and I I mean in my mind this is a this is a Mark Mark the moment moment for our organization where um we’re going to look back and on the football side of the house um this is this is going to be that that

Watershed day that it all came together and it’s it’s look it’s it’s it’s a long road right we’ve got free agency in front of us and and the draft in front of us and and there’s this isn’t a quick fix sort of organization but in terms of the sustainability in terms of building

Towards something that is going to be um a sustainable Championship caliber roster sustained Excellence um Mark the day B Nill has been our guest this morning the first of many interview you will hear with Titans officials and a 1:00 press conference tomorrow for new head coach

  1. And all the national media wants to suck Vrabel off and call AAS crazy, she made the right call! Time for the Titans to rock and roll now!

  2. 2:25:00 Shots fired. Every single one of them thought "what did he just say?!".

That's some pretty damning statements from Woodyard

  3. Vrabel always came off to me as crazy. And I was made to feel insane for a king time for speaking that. Glad that what seemed obvious to me on the whole is now out there for all to see. He literally pretended not to be the DC for a whole season. Like that’s some crazy ass shit.
