Hello members welcome back to another segment of on the range with Ryan today I’m going to talk about the grip talk a little bit about the grip today but don’t be worried I’m not going to talk interlock overlap that sort of grip I’m going to give you a tip uh about

Something that I don’t think a lot of members uh are really aware of but first of all we want to encourage you check out your golf bag check your grips in the golf bag you might need a new set of grips to start off 20

24 uh come down and see any of us in the shop I think Brooks does the most of the regripping in the shop so you can ask his advice um but check that out as far as tip for today I’ve had a lot of lessons over the last few weeks where

I’m seeing a disconnect of one part of their grip okay and that is the thumb and the index finger so in a good grip we’re going to create a little bit of a crease on each hand so when I put my hand on properly my thumb and index

Knuckle are going to sort of pinch together that’s that’s a good power source um and when they do that you’ll create that small little crease um it’s probably only about an inch and a half long uh and that we want to try and get to point right around your collar bone

Of your Trail shoulder so I’m a right-handed golfer I want my hands to be parallel so both of those creases should be pointing up around my collar bone it’s okay to have a strong grip so if your if your creases point a little more towards your Trail shoulder that’s

Okay we just teach you a little bit of how to how to release the club at impact and not hit it offline but again both hands I want you to feel like if I took a t and set it down in the Gap the bottom between your thumb and your index

Finger you could hold on to a golf club pretty well okay if I sep separate that it’s going to fall out but I also lose some control of the golf club in doing that so golf’s a little different we hold it a little differently than say a

Hockey stick or a baseball bat tennis racket so I what I want you to do at home is just check on your thumbs I want you to create a little bit of crease and not separate and have a gap there so just pinch your thumb up against your

Index finger knuckle on each hand and that should produce a lot more control in your golf swing and your Club face so if you have any questions on that just feel free to email me otherwise I look forward to seeing you next time on the range with Ryan
