All right padr fans just another day of waiting for a free agent signing to happen for the padr or really just waiting for free agent signings or trades to happen around Major League Baseball the Blue Jays they signed I believe yel Rodriguez there are free agent signings that are happening the

Yankees they signed Marcus strowman recently the Giants obviously with the trade that they had was it last week couple weeks ago involving Robbie Ray and then they signed Jordan Hicks who’s a reliever but they’re trying to make him a starter there’s some interesting things going on but look at how many

Names are still out on the free agent Market this is not all of them this is some of them I think Ken Rosenthal said the other day there was like 175 free agents left on the market so I would not panic if I’m a Padre’s fan I obviously

Am a Padre’s fan I’m not panicking right now because I see how many names are still out there it’s not like all of the other teams in baseball are making a bunch of moves and the Padres are sitting there not doing anything and we we know that AJ PR is

Waiting for the market to come down to the Padre’s level like he has pretty much said that publicly I think it was to the Union Tribune last month saying that he was going to wait till January now it’s January 17th but the market has essentially stayed the same there hasn’t

Been a lot of moves you got the big Bor four that are still out there with Bellinger and Snell and Chapman and Montgomery Chapman’s not on this list because he’s not a fit for the Padre’s Padre’s obviously have a third baseman with someone named Manny Machado if you

Didn’t know uh so here on this list from spot track I looked up free adents that are available and there’s some outfielders first base starters that are out there let me know in the comments what combination of guys do you want the Padre’s to sign they probably have 20

To$ 25 million of room before they get to that CBT 237 uh Thresh hold that CBT threshold there and they don’t want to go over that because they want to reset so that if they do go over it let’s say in 2025 their penalties are reset you know

They they don’t have to have a fifth straight year of going over or whatever and it’s more draft picks it’s more money it’s it’s a much bigger penalty and I don’t think that all the moves that they’re going to make are going to be in free agency again with the limited

Budget I think that trades are going to have to happen maybe not trades but a trade whether it’s one trade two trades maybe it’s one trade that involves like six players and the Padres can hammer out a couple of their needs in one deal maybe maybe it’s a three- team trade

Where the Padres can hammer out a couple of their their needs and they trade prospects guys to a couple different teams maybe Hung Kim ends up getting dealt for pitching or for outfield or you know one of the needs here obviously the big needs they need a left fielder

They need a center fielder because we think tatis is going to be in right and no disrespect to Jose zokar but I don’t want him playing center field every day for this Padre’s team first base konorth we know that his value is not anywhere near what it is at second base and he

Keeps declining offensively and no one’s going to move the contract so you know this this leads to the the Hang Kim discussion obviously where maybe it makes sense to deal Kim if you get the right package back you can move Corona birth worth back to second base where he’s most valuable most comfortable

Probably has a bounceback year you can fill some other holes Kim’s not going to come back here long term you have Merill coming up you have Bogarts you have guys that can play the middle infield if needed um and yeah the Padre’s you’re you’re trying to contend in 2024 no

Doubt about that and hang Kim was one of the best Padre’s players offensively and defensively obviously for the Padres in 202 three but you can still win without Hassan Kim now it might be more difficult but you can still do it and you’re you’re you’d be selling him at

His highest value like there’s no doubt about that he keeps going up he’s trending in the right direction if you want him on your team if you want to trade him he’s in the right direction like he keeps getting better he had a career year last year so

We’ll see what happens there but yes some of these freedent Snell we’re not getting him Montgomery not getting him Woodruff I want someone that’s going to pitch in 2024 and Woodruff is hurt that would be more of a 2025 thing so I don’t think that he fits Hing Ru he might not

Have that much of a market so the Padre’s might be be able to get him on a one-year deal if they do sign these guys I would think that most of them would be one-year contracts I don’t know if they’re going to go multiple years on

Very many guys in free agency here Alex Wood is that GNA be 7even eight mil how long will he take Clevenger I think that might be out of the Padre’s price range um quo odor Rizzy Keller clubber Paxton those guys have injury questions but there’s some upside there with James

Paxon Michael lorensen can kind of be your Nick Martinez start relieve so we’ll see where he lands if Padre’s end up getting him Eric low I don’t see that happening I think he’s had some past comments about the Padres and so I just don’t really see that and he didn’t have

That good of a year now maybe the Padre’s think that Ruben Nea can fix him but you got to have both sides want the relationship to happen and I don’t know if Eric low wants that Danny Duffy Dallas kyel I mean that could be an invite to spring training type thing

There Cinder guard Sheffield Sheffield is upside that’s kind of like Luis patinho I think I said that a couple weeks ago when the Padre’s got patinho where hyped Prospect but he has not been able to live up to that at the big league level first base Brandon Belt if

His Market goes down I mean this is a guy that had a a above average Ops plus hit almost 20 home runs this past year with the Blue Jays left-handed bat experience on the brightest stage multiple times uh ree Hoskins I think that’s out of the Padre’s price range

Joey vad I would not rule that out you know left-handed bat doesn’t have to play every day him being in that Clubhouse I I think I think he wants to be on a contender and so how many teams fit Joey vad like how many teams are looking for

A left-handed bat on the bench which I think is kind of what vad would do maybe you could DH him a little bit when everyone is healthy and I think the Padres do fit that like they need to fill out the bench it’s not just get a first baseman

Outfield starting pitching but the bench is not good right now right um Carlos Santana is still out there Garrick Cooper but he’s a righty if you want that return I don’t think it’s the worst but it is a righty not a lefty gel’s a righty I believe um Hunter

Doer eh outfielders B that’s not happening Peterson I don’t think that’s going to happen poock that’s a righty I don’t think that’s happening cair I don’t think that’s happening either Gallow I can’t rule that out because it’s AJ prer and I just think that one of these years it feels like Gallow is

Going to end up being a padre and he does have power there’s a lot of strikeout but there’s power there gritch rosar Rosario I think is realistic left-handed bat I don’t think that’s going to cost you many years much money Winker I think that could be like a

Minor league invite type deal or Adam angle where it’s a one-year very cheap team-friendly contract there’s David Peralta Tommy fam I would not be disappointed if the Padres brought Tommy fam in I know he’s a righty but I want urgency I want guys that are going to

Work their butt off and really want to win and Tommy Fitz that he played under Mike shil David prala a lefty NL West experience Aaron Hicks um switch hitter now this could be a Matt Carpenter thing where you’re weighing too much what he did with the Baltimore orals but he’s

Out there Austin Meadows Michael a Taylor he’s a righty though and how much money is he going to cost if Harrison Bader and Kevin kerme cost over10 million on a one-year deal there’s Kevin polar where I think that could be like a last resort like okay he plays in the

Big leagues obviously he can play center field he’s not going to give you anything offensively he’s a right-handed hitter not a left-handed hitter but if Marcy’s not ready to go and you need a center fielder and there’s like literally no one left I guess you could go the the Kevin polar route there’s

Guys like Jen Kowski out there Kyle Lewis would probably be a a minor league deal spring training invite there’s Jackie Bradley Jr Cole Calhoun Clint Frasier he was another one where he was a hype Prospect and has not lived up I mean he’s had moments in the big leagues

But he did not live up to that with the New York Yankees ryl Tapia I think he played with profar and tatis in the Dominican winter league there’s Cory Dickerson profar I could put on this list as well but he’s more of a bench guy um so yeah give me your thoughts

What combination would you like here I mean if if you want one two starters in free agency well you’re probably gonna have to go the cheaper route maybe you go with Dallas kyel and see what he can give you and then you go the Alex Wood route maybe as another starter I’m just

Looking on this list and then maybe bring in Brandon Belt for first base um Outfield go Eddie Rosario and David Peralta you go Jesse Winker minor league invite I don’t know what Michael a Taylor what what that’s going to end up looking like that deal but maybe you

Go Aaron Hicks and you can stick him in center field um or you sign Kevin polar if you need him to play center field because you don’t have another center fielder on the roster and you you’d rather have him over a zokar if you sign polar maybe you would rather just have a

Zokar and you’re signing polar just to be a body and I guess compete in spring training for a spot and if he plays better then you give it to him over zokar but let me know I think a trade at least one trade is going to happen here

  1. If the Padres will not go after Snell, Montgomery ,or Bellinger, they should look at Trevor Bauer, Lorenzen, Ryu, Wood, Lauer, and Paxton for pitching. At first base, Padres should look at Hoskins, Votto, Cooper, and Santana. For the outfield, Padres should look at Soler, Taylor, Pham, Gallo, and Peterson.

  2. Ryu makes the most sense as a starter, and I like Belt; Votto has batted .202 with a OPS+ under 100 last 2 seasons; he's done. OF: I like Pederson, Rosario, Winker (maybe), and perhaps a flyer on Hicks (though I'm skeptical).

  3. Por calidad snell, por barato lorenzen, ryu, por calidad hoskins, cron ,por barato dozier. Por calidad bellinger ,por barato Soler!!!.

  4. Kole Calhon would be a good option but he'd move to Left or possibly center. He like Tatis has a Cannon for an arm.

  5. Kutsenda is running the Padres as a businessman. The Padres are unprofitable, so, he’s cutting costs and since the team already has a nucleus of all star caliber players, is looking to fill gaps cheaply. So, I doubt any even mid price signings.

Bottom line, San Diego is neither a sports nor entertainment Mecca, so, I’d like someone like Garth Brooks, who has felt a connection to the team several years ago, to become a token minority owner and add celebrity to the team. AJ seems good at spotting young talent and with experience a better GM, so, keep him for his full contract.

  6. I would like to see the padres add Profar for Lf and Santana at 1st base… both are affordable with good upside and both switch hitters.

    My 2024 lineup:

    1 Kim-3rd
    2 Tatis-Rf
    3 Machado-Dh
    4 Boagarts-Ss
    5 Santana-1st base
    6 Campy-C
    7 Cronenworth-2nd
    8 Profar-Lf
    9 Marsee-Cf

  7. Im not to worried about pitching. Ruben Niebla seems to have a magic rub that fixes pitchers. Padres really need to get a center fielder that can cover the field in Petco.

  8. There's a couple of guys in the Mexican league that they can pay them with pesos. The Padres are a joke they're super team😂

  9. I just made a video over my on my baseball channel talking about excactly this. Let’s say Padres have 20 million to spend and Have some left money for in season spending. I would want Ryu, Gallo, Hicks and Dom Smith

  10. Please PADRES sign Hyun-Jin Ryu Micheal Lorenzen Brandon Belt Garrett Copper Joey Votto Cory Kluber
Eric Lauer Julio Teheran Danny Duffy Brad Keller Cody Bellinger Joc Peterson Michael A. Taylor C.J. Cron
Johnny Cueto Noah Syndergaard Adam Duvall Jackie Bradly Jr. Eddie Rosario Jake Odorizzi
Justus Sheffield Hunter Dozier RHYS Hoskins Carlos Santana Carlos Carrasco Alex Wood Jordan Montgomery
    Joey Gallo

  11. We have to keep in mind AJ Tingler Preller is limited because more than half the teams in the league won’t do business with him. He’s not like the Dodgers or Arizona who can trade with anybody. A good farm system is only as good as the executive doing business. AJ has been suspended and fined by the league multiple times. Big impact.

  12. Also the Padres are not resetting the luxury tax. Our payroll will remain 150 to 175 million for years to come. Just a few months ago when I reported this no one believed we had money problems and were broke. Now we seem to think it’s a one year thing. It’s not. It is what it is because of AJ Tingler Preller. And players are not clamoring to play for him in SD.

  13. Would you do Luzardo and Chisholm (Marlins) in a trade for HSK? Just saw those names come up in the rumor mill. Probably would need a prospect added in from the Padres also?

  14. We need to find a way to complete this team and still keep Kim. We are going to need Kim for 3B if Manny Machado Starts off as a DH. And in 2025 we should try to bring back Kim Long Term. he had a 5.8 War last year and is only getting better. Plus he is young. We already Lost Juan Soto, we can't afford to Lose Kim as well. A.J. Preller should be able to put together a complete roster while still keeping HSK. If he can't do that then he needs to be fired. He has made some pretty bad moves and Trading away Juan Soto was one of them. You may disagree and want kim gone and that is ok. Your opinion matters. Thanks for all the content Ben. Looking forward to the future of this franchise and Hopefully HSK and JUAN soto are here in 2025.

  15. Guys I would Pick from this list would be Johnny Cueto, but he turned us down last season. I would like Profar back He is a good fit for the team And Tommy Pham if we could get the 2023 AZ Pham and not the Pham we had who was not that great after his injury off the field.

  16. Michael A Taylor at CF for $7m seems to fit, especially if they can grab a 4th of for sub $5m, maybe Jankowski and you’ve got a platoon. I like Rhyu as well as an additional SP. That could be OF and rotation set with $8m to $10m left to add a bench bat/1B and they’d need to likely add one more starter via trade.

  17. I disagree with the group think that Crone can’t be moved. He can’t be moved as 1B but he holds value at 2B and there are teams with poor performance at 2B that could be willing to commit to him via trade.

  18. If Cronenworth has another bad season any chance the Padres just eat the contract trade him and pay some percentage ?

  19. Rosario and gallo for outfield and maybe carrasco or brad Keller and odorizzi for two sp cause Thorpe will not be ready just yet neither will Vasquez maybe Brito and for middle innings maybe cueto
