The PGA TOUR returns to the mainland this week for the 65th annual playing of The American Express. This event is the first multi-course event of the season. Justin Thomas will be teeing it up for the first time this year, his first appearance in La Quinta since finishing T7 in 2015. He’ll be looking to replicate the form which saw him claim three-straight top-fives worldwide after missing out on the FedExCup Playoffs. Scottie Scheffler will also be in California this week and has three top-25 results at The American Express in his career highlighted by a solo third in 2020. He also managed a T5 at The Sentry two weeks ago. Min Woo Lee will also like his chances this week in the Coachella Valley as he concluded 2023 as one of the hottest on the planet with a pair of wins worldwide highlighting a stretch of five-straight top-15s. Others to look out for are Xander Schauffele, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler and Will Zalatoris.

This man wouldn’t dream it do no no that whole location there just eight pieces on but water not really in play Oh for the watch out hello what a stop he shoots he scores but he would make par on the hole however Nick Dunlap taking advantage his

Third I watched Nick Dunlap warm up first wed shot he hit today he was sitting at the 50 yd sign hit it right in the middle of the sign and the layup and then carve this one up meanwhile Sam Burns is at a terrific shot in there to 13 with with hisatsune out

Yes how about I was just getting ready to question the club choice I think I’ll keep my mouth shut at 17 under playing second hole his 11th hole of the day from just inside 100 yards should spin [Applause] now going to be a popular spot today right

Fringe it’s tracking got to go let him in yes sir what a putt for Eric Barnes one of the longest we’ve seen all week with his third at the par five Fifth oh how about that we saw two here last year from on a little bit of a peninsula so you have to be pretty accurate if you’re going to take this pin on SS pretty good really good Jason D found a little spark in the game

Go missed one out to the right on 17 and found the water no problems with this one as he carves one in there couple of good swings here from Jason the man they call Boog did tap in for Birdie on 16 now on the T at 17 that’s aggressive always like to cut

The golf ball that’s a lot of movement with a short on and it’s been gorgeous here had a shower there yesterday afternoon which softened the greens maybe a little bit but it’s gorgeous today you second at 12 has pins all the way in the back you know just as Billy

Ray was talking about can’t go over the ninth green certainly can’t go over this one because beautiful shot played it perfect it’s laid up with his third meanwhile he’s playing with Sam Burns who’s hitting his second shot on seveny there and that’s going to set Sam burns up potentially to make another

Birdie what coach Sav had to say Kevin you this for birdie at 14 to share the lead six birdies going out birdie 10 birdie 12 Bley started the final round nine shots Back [Applause] [Applause] there it is something like that so s Burns gets it to 27 under the share of the lead he’s got five wins out here four of them in stroke play events three of those were come from behind wind yeah having a bit of run here on the back nine birdie 10 11

1415 drove it the left bunker here so I had to lay up this is for the hard way still made birdie [Applause] yeah yes on a very good line if it’s enough oh oh yeah one who complains and whines and one who says watch this JT is definitely a watch

This kind of player taking something in low trying to take a skip back there how about watch that oh wavered by his walk or anything like that he has stayed in the moment keeping through his routine even though things aren’t going his way look at that he got that made some big

Putts hasn’t he yeah he does he’s got that onew putting stroke you know just popped so full of confidence and a good week for Michael Kim tied for 12th as he goes to the 17th T fcy yeah this is a big hook and chip see if he plays enough break out there to

The right come on come on a nice really nice I think you got to trust your own reads like Adam hadwin just did a good even brandle could see the flag stick from here right in the center of the Fairway oh yeah oh right there kisses the St what a show we’re [Applause]

Seeing oh yeah has not been intimidated all day long oh yeah Christian baz not second to the par 4 15th this is that whole location I was talking about I told the guys behind the green that were marshalling this hole you guys might see one hold out here today it’s it’s just

Cake poops it and 15 comes into it but nowhere right in the middle of this green and if it fades it fades d right okay with his iron so I would imagine you got to take a little bit off this oh very aggressive play cutting

Right at this has got to hang on guys that’s oh no [Applause] that’s wow that’s been his Miss pogy Puck for [Applause] burns slides by Dunlap the amateur will have a two-shot lead to the 72nd Hall at the American Express well that’s been a popular spot today people bailing out to the right taking the bad line and accepting the angle that’s about the best we’ve [Applause]

Seen and it is not over yet Chris John baz not the 29-year-old from South Africa trying to win for the first time on tour Easy Come on come [Applause] on history in the desert for the first time since 1991 and Amer is won on the PGA tour Nick Dunlap wins the American Express

[Applause] wow thanks for watching the PGA Tour on YouTube to watch another video click here and to subscribe click here

  1. Amazing win from a 20 year old, great wisdom on the 18th. Good luck with your future Nick. The island green at 17 is a great idea, (Burns may not agree lol)

  2. Kinda BS that because he is an amateur, that he cant get a single dollar of the $1.5 million winner's prize.

  3. Congrats Dunlap with very value first time pgd winner, you are very young talent USA boy, wish you will reply Tiger soon.
