After a winless season on the LPGA when you wondered when or if you’d play well again you come out and win in the first event of the year what kept you working towards this moment um you know I think the finish that I had last year not only

Winning Grand Thornton but you know I played really well in Korea and in Malaysia and I was like you know maybe if I had found the keys that I had found then like a little earlier like maybe I could have had a better season but you

Know I think if you keep going down a spiral of thinking like what if um it’s endless but you know I tried to work hard in the two weeks leading up to um this event and to be able to win at home uh has been nice and I think they were

Definitely you know nerves but a little less just because it is my home course and to see so many of the members come out and um you know clap and cheer me on I think that was kind of the best part of this week this Victory marks your

20th career win on the LPGA Tour you’re now just one point away from qualifying for the LPGA Tour Hall of Fame how much will that be a motiv for you over the rest of the season I thought two was like really close and now one um is really really close you know I’m

Literally right in front of the door uh no I think my mindset was hey like I’m going to do all the things I can do and try and do a good job of that and if it happens it happens if not I it’s just

Not meant to be mine to be in in the hall of fame um and to have myself a better chance of it now you know after winning this week is definitely really cool um but hopefully nothing changes internally where you know I’m not going to get too crazy uh about you know what

May happen and just try and play you know continuous see some solid Golf and see where that puts me to start off the win this strong with a victory right away how does this set up for you for the rest of the year um I won last year

My first event and it kind of went sideways very quick um so know not get uh too cocky um I’m playing next week uh at in brenon and you know that’s a new golf course for me so I’m excited to go out there it’s it’s a short turnover but

Maybe I can know take all of the goods from this week and take it the next week and Florida has been great to me um so hopefully another good week next week to win here on your home course at Lake Nona being a part of this unique field

How would you describe the overall experience this week uh it’s awesome um I played with Marty Taylor and Jeremy this week and you know they’re Legends in their Sports and um and you know so many of the other celebrities that were here and know they are just golf fans

And to be able to play alongside them and pick their brains and it’s it’s been so much fun and I think this is a great way to start the event to make it a little bit more chill and maybe not as tense as any other event um but I’m
