LPGA MAJOR WINNER! Brooke Henderson WITB 2024

Brooke Henderson joins me at The Team TaylorMade Photoshoot in Florida for a first look at her golf club set up for 2024.

We talk about driver shafts and why Brooke plays a longer shaft and what she looks to gain by going down that route. We then get into the detail that goes into her fairway wood set up especially when it comes to tour length par 3’s.

When it comes to irons we cover why Brooke plays steel over graphite and her journey from P790 to P770 and how she has worked into P7MC’s. The wedges are Milled Grind 4 and the wear marks highlight her work ethic, this is truly a WITB to marvel.

What’s up guys I got a bonus episode for you today I’m joined by one of my favorite golfers from the team Taylor Made crew Brook Henderson thank you for coming on I think while we’ve got you here at the tailor May photo shoot but I just want to go through your bag what you love about it I think we can’t ignore it right the qi1 and the metal woods what’s your first reaction what do you think I

Love this driver yeah I hit it for the first time this morning I pulled it out of the bag and the first one was like straight as an arrow and really far and Colin was hitting behind me and I think he was impressed so that made me feel

Really good absolutely and he hits it straight has this been going straight for you as the story would go with youri and feeling that so moment of inertia reduction to twist I know you don’t miss the center much but you’re known for hitting it straight so if we can give

You something to even straighter that’s got to be appealing right oh yeah they told me you know it should go straighter and further and I was like well that’s perfect one of the things I noticed with you is you play a longer golf shaft right than most what’s the thinking

Behind that why do you go so long in the golf shaft um well I’m always looking for more distance that’s what one of the reasons why this driver is so great it’s going to give me a little bit more um and also you know longer shaft longer

Pendulum um in theory it should go a little bit further and it’s funny cuz you talk about distance and I know we’ve got them on the floor here you’ve just been trying out the brand new golf ball as well and picked up half a club with

The iron so that’ll be something that is an easiest switch for you right yeah absolutely um yeah always looking for distance especially in the long irons and up in into the woods so uh makes it really easy when I just have to change my golf ball and I make those gains you

Know it saves a lot of time in the gym and a lot of time you know swinging heavy objects so looking at these two we got the two Woods you got two different styles out here the qi1 which is going to be a little bit larger and spin a bit

More and then you have the QI 10 tour that has the movable weight in the garage here that goes in and out they have Loft sleeve Lees on them this is the five that’s the three initial thoughts and testing I love how they’ve got the tour little dots on there that’s

How you know it’s legit we save that Primo for you but what do you think what’s your first thoughts on it what will you look for this area of the bag if you’re gaining yardage how important is it that you then work and dial in that yardage yeah you know for me the

3-wood I want to get a lot of distance out of it you know I want to be able to hit par fives and two um and I want to be able to use it off T’s um you know when I can hit driver um so that’s really important to me the fivewood is

More I’m trying to be really accurate with it I might even have to use it on Long Par 3 so you know you want to be really really straight and you know I put a lot of trust into team tailor made and they do an incredible job of giving

Me the clubs that I need and you know taking care of all the numbers so that I can just kind of feel it in my swing and pick the club that feels right for me so two follow-up questions there you said you use it quite often on par 3s when

You’re on the tour what yardage would we be looking at for that yeah so fivewood is a little over 200 so you know sometimes not all the time but we get those long par 3es and you’re going to have to hit it teaser moved up on the

Par fives I can hit it into that too but I want it to be straight so do you grade the weight I see this is the five and then in these two you’ve gone six in the five wood so why do you grade the weight

Is it feel is it length what what’s the thinking there um yeah feel is the number one thing for me I’ve always been a field player and you know like I said I put a lot of trust into team tailor Ma and they do a great job of making sure

That I’m in the right shafts um and everything and so then when I come out here I can just like hit one shot and say oh I like that or no I need something to change but most of the time it’s great I’ve seen your clubs change a

Little bit you go five iron through to pitching wedge in the MC’s with a 105 steel shaft in there have you ever played or considered graphite would you put thought into that and then have you ever played or thought about different models of iron or always gone with like

The p7 MC right yeah so last year I actually played 790 770 and then I just made the switch to p7mc and I absolutely love them they have really changed my game um so consistent um you know the M hits are not really M hit anymore you know

The distance and the dispersion is a lot tighter it’s just really exciting and I love when when I’m hitting these now I look forward to it and I feel like I can kind of take advantage over the rest of the field when I watch you hit balls

There a lot of accuracy lot of great striking you see the t- marks in here you’re obviously got Precision in mind you’ve got standard bounce on all these wedges do you ever play around with the bounce on your meal grind fors or do you always just stick with standard I stick

Pretty standard those wedges have felt really great they have so much Spin and for me that’s really important to have a lot of control and a lot of spin around the greens um so those wedges have really been clutch for me okay and then I look at the camber and the control you

Really wear these out so you my sister’s always telling me to practice my wedges so there’s my proof and then we can’t avoid the money maker I noticed you got the gar and grip on there the quad tour you you put left below right this one’s one you’ve been

Testing out in the spider tour v um straight in shaft usually you play center shaft it’s gone a bit more in the heel what’s your initial thinking on this and do you like this Potter and do you think is it an area that you change much or you stick with consistency um

Once I find one that I love I tend to stick with it for a little while um this one it feels so good you know the weight and the stability of it feels awesome and I was making a lot of putts earlier today with it so I feel like this one’s

Going right in the bag and I think to give our amateurs a bit of Hope how long does it take you to get comfortable with new clubs um it takes a little bit but you know when the clubs are this good it maybe doesn’t take quite as long and you

Know when you have a great team around you that’s you know making sure you’re right in the right shafts and in the right Lofts and right weights um it makes the transition a lot easier um but it does take a little bit of time you know to practice and get ready and then

If you find a driver and you love it or a three for you sounds like 3-wood fivewood very important you find these clubs and you love them how like what’s it take to pull the trigger to play it in a tournament you know it it doesn’t

Like the driver I hit it you know four times this morning and I loved it about yeah it’s it’s in play um you know my next tournament which is really exciting the other ones you know you want to make sure that they’re going the right distance and distance control is great

But otherwise if it feels good to me I’m putting it in fantastic is there anything quirky in this golf bag that I need to rumage through to find or in terms of what’s in the bag this is unique that you have a little Sunny face on there that keeps you in good spirits

Yes it does you always see in good spirits whenever I see you guys I’ll put all the information in the description down below for Brooke Henderson be sure to check it out and of course be sure to hit subscribe and notify for more of these wats in the bags we’ll drop them

On you as they come in thank you so much and good luck for everything for 2020 for

  1. Damn I absolutely love Brooke. Two videos in two days with her. I hope this does a ton of good in promoting her sport. The LPGA aren’t good golfers for women. They are just good golfers period man or woman. I hope people start realizing the amount of game these ladies have. The talent on the tour is off the charts. Please everyone give LPGA a watch you’ll become a fan. It’s great golf. This is coming from someone that spends a good deal hating on the WNBA. I’m always told it’s because I’m sexist and hate women sports. I love women sports just think WNBA is horrible product where as LPGA is a quality product with ladies that love the game.

  2. love the WITB series, hearing Trottie talk to pros about their bags is really interesting. Keep up the great content, Trottie!

  3. Thanks for the great video Trottie! It would have been great if you spent a bit of time going over the shafts in her bag in more detail as well – there is really limited data available on shaft / shaft weight for LPGA players and this was a nightmare for me to figure out when I first started as a higher swing speed lady golfer!

Hopefully this video helps interest more men in the LPGA game as well – the LPGA is a great viewing product and the swing speed should be more relatable to average male golfers.

  4. Just saw her this morning at the Hilton Tournament of Champions. She seems like an absolutely wonderful person, I became a fan instantly.

  5. Sounds more like an ad for taylormade than a witb. No shafts, no swingweights, no grips with wraps, tipping not mentioned. Trottie man ur better than this. Deliver the content ur viewers are looking for not another taylormade ad for the qi10.

  6. Did Brooke change to Taylormade because she thought they would be better for her or for the age old reason of monetary gain? I’ll wait for the experts. So far, to me, it’s not what was hoped for. Sorry.
